Is it possible to give something 100 stars?!?! LOL. Talk about a hidden gem. I am in the area for a work meeting and looking for a local cafe to get some work done before my meeting later on. I found this place on Google and it had great reviews so I figured I would try it. It took me a while to find it--since it is literally in the basement of an office building-you would not know it is here, besides a small sign outside. I also had difficulty in figuring out where to park, since most of the parking says reserved, there are some guest spots however--across the way from the cafe. The cafe is located behind in the building in the basement-it is PERFECT! Such a chill vibe-with a small vinyl room where you can buy and peruse records. The staff was SUPER friendly and nice--all the types of coffee drinks and tea's you would want. If I lived closer or have more meetings in the area, this would be my go to spot on the daily. They are open until 6P during the week as well, which is really nice. So if you find this on Yelp or a review on Google--yes it is legit and YES you will not be disappointed. Free wifi too! :) They also seem to have seasonal speciality drinks which are very popular--you cannot go wrong here. read more

well waddayaknow! four years already whoa!! and this place is still awesome. the cafe family has also grown - back then i usually just see Marcus and Audrey but now there more new pleasant staff faces too! and thats a good thing. As always, drinks are delicious and I always look forward to their unique seasonal or special drinks. They always come up with new and interesting flavors - flavors that I havent really seen or tried anywhere else such as Marzipan, persimmon, carrot cake, and there's this "Thai Bolt" that im gonna have to try soon. lol the pastries are also good and just recently ive tried this scallion cheese pandesal which was a pleasant light breakfast treat! First time here and I was excited to check it out--and it did not disappoint. Thumbody is a great-vibe café tucked away on the first floor of an office building. It's a small space, but they have tables for anyone who wants to sit, chat, or get some work done. As someone with celiac, I was thrilled to see gluten-free options. I tried the Oreo gluten-free chocolate cake and it was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a caramel cold brew with vanilla cold foam, and it definitely hit the spot. I tried this place for the first time and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The place is also such a cool place to do work with plenty of seating and cool decor. I tried the "hulk" drink which was ube and matcha mixed together. The ube itself (a nutty creamy flavor) tasted great, but I didn't get any matcha taste (that could just be because the ube overpowered it). I wasn't a fan of the fact that the matcha is pre-sweetened with sugar. I didn't get to catch if the employees whisked the matcha or it was premade in a tub (like most places do when the matcha is presweetened with sugar). If you're looking for a matcha tasting drink don't try the one with ube and maybe try the other flavors to give them a shot. 10/10 vibes and staff friendliness but I can't speak to the matcha read more

I call it a secret cafe because you would never know there's a cafe hidden in this massive office building. But this cafe isn't just a coffee place for the office, it is a legit destination cafe. There's a lot of people working on their laptops but I always manage to find a table. I love the big windows, albeit the view is of the parking lot. What I love is their espresso beans. I've tried a cappuccino and an americano and they both taste smooth without bitterness. The baristas are nice too. One time my friend and I forgot to ask for decaf and they started to make the drinks already but they still remade the drinks when we asked and they did it without an attitude. I appreciate that. Don't let the office-forward exterior fool you. This cafe might be located on the ground floor of the most nondescript building, but that also means plenty of parking. What it lacks in curb appeal, it more than makes up for with a cozy and chill ambiance. The mural of album covers is a cool nod to the cafe's part DNA as a vinyl records shop. There are plenty of tables, chairs, and counters to find a place to hang or work, so that even on a busy weekend morning, my friend and I had no trouble staking out a spot. As someone trying to cut coffee out of her life, I loved to see mentions of matcha and ube on the menu. That led me quite naturally to order The Hulk, their signature matcha and ube latte. With bright and foamy purple and green layers, this drink caught stares all the way from the counter to our table. It's clearly a drink made for the 'gram, but with actual substance by way of taste. Having read some reviews on The Hulk, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to taste the distinct but subtle flavors, but I was surprised by how well they complemented each other. Sure, stirring the layers together turned the two colors into more of an ugly, mottled green, but it became a gorgeous, 'not-that-sweet' drink that we Asians love so well. Everyone behind the counter is friendly and efficient. Every time I looked up, I saw them moving like a machine to churn out a regular flurry of new drink orders. That there was such a steady flow of customers during the hour or so I was there seems to suggest what a hotspot this has become in the neighborhood. I wanted to eat a UBE PAN DE SAL (purple salty cheese bread ) but they were run out, so I picked a "Guava & Cheese pan de sal " which was soft and yummy , and a HONEY LAVENDER latte with regular milk( the cashier recommended me the regular milk) I ordered my latte in a mug and they have really precious colored mugs for customers that makes you happy ..My Latte was really, really delicious!!! Chicken Pesto Sandwich ( on focaccia)was fresh and tasty ( I also devoured one of this , haha) Fair prices and enough portions. Barista was so kind and explained me all the concept and how the place works. Spot is so spacious and had diferent kind of sitting areas: 1-stools and a bar with a street view, 2-regular tables, 3-a small living area and ... a separate vynil LP record collection area where you can stay and enjoy a time. Thumbody is located inside a business building off the highway, so at first it was tricky to locate exactly where in the building it was if you're not familiar with it but after my 1st visit, I knew exactly where to park (visitors parking) and easily locate Thumbody's entrance nearby. I can in 3 times over the past week and really enjoyed each visit! I had the mango sticky rice matcha and it really is as god as the reviews claim it to be! I asked for mine a little less sweet as I don like my beverages to taste like dessert but just sweet enough and Thumbody baristas delivered! I also had the ube and guava cheese pan de sol. I've been to Thumbody a few times now and have always enjoyed my experience. They've got some creative drinks and it's a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink and some small bites. Service has always been friendly. On my most recent visit I got some coffee and ginger based drink and it was ok. I drank it all, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Now my girlfriend got a mango sticky rice matcha drink and it was AMAZING. I love mango sticky rice and I love matcha but I've never thought of having both together in the same cup. Somehow it just worked and one flavor never overpowered the other. Prices are about typical for a cafe like this. I do like that they have a room with a bunch of vinyl record, pretty unique. I have visited Thumbody twice since my friend recommended this cafe as one of her favorites in the area. I don't blame her since the drinks and pastries here are really delicious! I tried their Earl Grey Matcha and Sticky Mango Rice Matcha and both are delicious. If you like something sweeter, go for the Sticky Mango Rice Matcha. I have also tried their Guava & Cheese Pan de Sal and the Ube Pan de Sal. Both are delicious but I would say the Guava & Cheese one is my favorite, it's a mix of savory and sweet! The service is fast and the atmosphere of the cafe is great. They have a records shop in the back where you can buy from. I was really confused finding the place because it's within a big building but the atmosphere is really cute. There's a "secret" LP room along the walls (go look for the door" and the bartenders are really nice and cool. The menu is very unique with adds of ube, which I love!! I got the ube pan de sol with cream cheese which was really good. A little bit drier than I thought it would be but wasn't bad at all and really filling. To pair it, I thought too much ube would be overload so I got the earl grey matcha which tasted really good. Never thought of complimenting both flavors until today. Have had thumbody like 4-5 times now over a few years. Place is really great, definitely worth driving to a random doctor's office to grab a drink. Place is kinda in the most random building, but they expanded somewhat recently within the last two years. Cafe was pretty small originally but now its like double the size, plenty of seating now. Staff is always kind and never had a problem. Their drinks are great, few places in Jersey I can think even serve ube drinks. Their ube coffee is great, best I'll at least get in North Jersey. The baristas working were so sweet and the space was super colorful and inviting! My friend and I both got lattes and while they were good and you could definitely taste the coffee, waaaay too much syrup and flavoring were put in so it gathered at the bottom and no amount of swirling and twirling was getting rid of it so I was sucking up chunks of caramel the entire drink lol. Thumbody is turning into one of my go-to cafes for getting work done later in the day. It's conveniently open until 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays, which is a lot later than other cafes in the area. Although it can get really busy, the interior is spacious and there's ample seating. The ambiance is also unmatched. They play vinyl records and the whole vibe is just laidback and ~* feel good*~. The staff is always friendly. They have a lot of regulars coming often. The Hulk is officially my favorite drink. It's half matcha, half ube, and the combination of both flavors is so well balanced. The place can be a little confusing to find with only a small sign in-front of a building of mostly medical offices The cashier was nice in explaining all of their unique drink names and what was inside. There is a small room with vinyl with a pretty cool collection and there is a good amount of seating in a cozy atmosphere. While they have some unique drink options, I kept it simple with a chai latte. It was good but a little too sweet for me. I definitely want to try their coffee. Now the pastry I had was amazing. I had a pan de sal. The Philippine bread,the guava and cheese together was enough to make me tear. Such an amazing pastry. Chill little cafe such a simple and clean aesthetic. Lots of seating and tables for those that wfh and need a place to work or even study. I loved the wall decor of the record covers. The menu is simple with the usual lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos. Their specialty menu had some fun flavors but at the time that I had gone was ube latte and the hulk and those were the drinks that we ended up ordering and both iced. Off the bat, this is my kind of cafe - good music, good selection of drinks, and cool art & decor. I was able to snag one of the last two Ube Tres Leches Cake which I was excited to try. The ube is very subtle throughout but it's decently moist and creamy. It actually got better over the next couple days I ate it. The Iced Ube Latte sadly disappointed me. Unlike all the photos of this drink I see on here, mine was exceptionally dark in color. I didn't even get that cute sticker that everyone else has on their cups lol. Even to taste, it was more watery than creamy and the ube flavor was barely noticeable. I think the espresso overpowered the ube and the lack of milk made the whole drink feel less cohesive. I'm being generous with my rating since I did like the vibe here and if I'm back in the area, I would consider coming back and trying something else. Check them out! read more

They have a side room which I think is dedicated to their record sales. Yes they sell records! They have a really great selection of drinks. I'm a big fan of places that have a seasonal offering of specialty drinks. I tried a signature drink, the Hulk (only available iced) and a seasonal drink, (hot) maple latte. Both were good! I also tried the Ube pan de Sal and guava and cheese pan de Sal. I really had no idea what these were but they seemed like the most popular food items so I gave them a try. I definitely preferred the guava and cheese because of the sweetness. These cost a little less than $4 and the drinks were about $5.50/$6. All reasonable! The large window side of the room allows for natural light to come through which is lovely for now (fall trees and sky!).
