    Taro Soft Serve ice cream.
    James B.

Today I stopped here for a Taro soft serve ice cream with Boba. I also tried the Hojicha ice cream. The Taro was way better than the Hojicha one, while the Hojicha had good Hojicha flavor, the Taro one with boba was just better overall. Summary: will likely go back to.

I had a great experience at the Matcha Cafe Maiko in Fort Lee, NJ so I was excited to see a location in the Garden State Plaza Mall. It's a small kiosk on the lower level near the food court and Foot Locker. I ordered the matcha + taro swirl soft serve in a cup with boba as a topping, which came out to around $10. Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy it because: 1.) It was already melting fast and turning into a goop at the bottom that was spilling over the cup 2.) They put the boba topping at the very bottom, making it difficult to eat unless I finished at least half of the cup. I wish they could have put more on top. 3.) The matcha and taro tasted mostly like sugar... I couldn't even distinguish between the two flavors because it was ALL. SUGAR. Pretty disappointing considering they're in my top 5 favorite flavors. I ended up throwing out my cup about halfway through. I'll probably just stick to the Fort Lee location... quality is much better over there.

Best Matcha! Great service from the employees and really good matcha! Would recommend the matcha latte which is made fresh. Good vibes at the shop!

Got the maiko special sundae & a taro matcha latte. Both very delicious! Highly recommend & would buy from again. Also service was great!

I usually go to Matcha Maiko Cafe in Fort Lee, and reading the reviews I was hesitant to try this place. But since I was in the mall I went to try it out anyways since they just opened. But the quality of drinks and soft serves is very reflective of the fort lee location, same high quality products that do not disappoint! I'd highly recommend the matcha soft serve and the sparkling series! This one is also closer to where I live so it's probably going to be my go to for when i crave matcha! And the staff is super helpful!

Amazing matcha spot and highly recommend trying if you like matcha! The staff is super friendly. They also have unique monthly flavors that are worth checking out as well.

Love their ube latte! It's almost impossible to find any good ube flavored drinks around here and I'm so happy they carry this!!

Honestly this is the best ice cream I've ever had. If you like soft serve ice cream and matcha lattes, this is your new best friend - Two cups of soft serve ice cream with purple and green swirls are placed on a white table in a cafe setting.

It wasn't taste as I expect as matcha flavor ice cream. It's too sweet for me and no tea flavor. And the price is kind of pricy.

I got my usual matcha soft serve on a cone and it came in a huge swirl on a waffle cone. The ice cream had a strong matcha flavor and was creamy and fluffy. I will say I had this at 9:30 pm and couldn't sleep due to the strength of the matcha but that goes to show that they really put a good amount! A great place to have some quick dessert in Fort Lee!

It turned out the red bean was spoiled, so I had to go back and ask them to remake the drink without it. This time, on 12/27 around 5:30 PM, I ordered a hojicha latte. After placing my order, I noticed there was a free size upgrade promotion running throughout December, so I asked if my drink could be upgraded. The staff member said no, explaining that it had to be done while ordering for the promotion to apply. That excuse felt very lame and honestly came across as laziness, especially since it was a free upgrade and could have easily been accommodated. At another Maiko location (Garden State Plaza), the staff proactively informed me about the promotion and asked if I wanted the upgrade, which is what I would expect. Unfortunately, the Fort Lee location didn't offer the same experience. Even after I asked, it felt like I was given weak excuses rather than a genuine effort to help. On top of that, the hojicha latte here was overly milky. I've had the same drink at other Maiko locations where it tasted much nuttier and more balanced, so this was disappointing. I really love Maiko overall, but based on these experiences, I wouldn't visit the Fort Lee location again.

The whipped cream and cherry on top made it adorable, and the ice cream was creamy and very vanilla. The wet walnut sundae also paired well with it. Both were just overflowing right out of the dish. Even though it's simple, it wasn't basic. We were served quickly and with pretty and tasty desserts. I admire the local history captured in photos. There is plenty of street parking nearby. It came to the United States in 1770, is made with milk, typically does not include eggs, and has a dense texture from a slower churning speed than ice cream. Located on Market Street in Elmwood Park, my partner and I came to this family-operated establishment celebrating 25 years. Upon entering the cozy Four Seasons as first-timers, we were in the mood for some homemade gelato. There were a few classics one will find, such as chocolate, hazelnut, coffee, and stracciatella (vanilla with crunchy chocolate pieces), as well as pistachio, all written in Italian. They also feature hard ice cream, cakes, pastries, and coffee. We decided on a small chocolate and medium banana and sat outside at one of the two available tables. The texture was silkier and softer with a bold, intense flavor and authenticity. The price was comparable to the area. The young staff could have been a bit more sociable. We can recommend this place.
