I have been visiting this boba shop since it first opened around 2016. The quality of the drinks here has been consistent over the years and I like all the drinks I've gotten here. My favorite is the mango milk tea and the jasmine green milk tea. Their drinks taste very fresh and light, especially their fruity drinks. I've found some boba places can sometimes have an artificial and syrupy taste when it comes to fruit drinks but that is NOT the case for this place. I would definitely recommend this place. Absolutely delicious, made fresh, not too sweet, too heavy, too watered down or too anything - PERFECT! So tasty, adorable inside (I definitely wanna come back and chill inside or grab a tea and do some work on my laptop in there) and ultra friendly customer service! Very calm and relaxed! I love village tea! I would visit them more often if the town of Ridgewood would provide free parking. This is a nice cozy, quite tea shop that provides welcoming seating area. The Village Tea Shop is a small shop that sells teas (including bubble tea and tea latte's), smoothies, and coffee. The only thing I ever purchase from their shop is the bubble tea so my review will revolve around this type of experience. I've visited the Village Tea Shop numerous times as I stroll through the town of Ridgewood on a hot summers day, on a cool fall day, or a chilly winter day you can never go wrong with some boba! What I've found here that I haven't found in my other go to boba locations is popping lychee boba which just adds another level of excitement of grabbing a bubble tea at this location! I've tried their Mango, Taro, Matcha, Black Milk, and Jasmine Green tea's all delicious with some real potency. The workers behind the counter are so sweet and are open to providing suggestions for those unsure what to order. Overall 9/10 experience - the only downfall to this shop is the lack of parking - if you've been to Ridgewood you know that more times than not you're going to have to get street metered parking. read more

We've come back many times and would highly recommend their bubble tea, although all of their different tea variants are delicious. Small hole in the wall bubble tea cafe, in a busy area of Ridgewood, but very delicious. I ordered a honeydew milk tea with boba. The boba pearls need some work, they are kinda small and a little too soft for me. The milk tea however, is phenomenal. It had lots of flavor and it was very creamy without it being too thick or too sweet. Heads up to anyone interested in visiting the tea house, Ridgewood doesn't have the best parking so you might have to walk a little. Always amazing Bubble Tea- good consistency boba and perfect sugar levels. I personally ask for half sugar and it's refreshing. Their tea is really good and authentic - you can buy loose tea leaves as well. If you don't enjoy their tea it's probably because you've grown accustomed to powdered or syrup flavored bubble tea. Natural tea is light, refreshing and smells heavenly. Their cafe has an expanded cozy seating section and wifi is available as well! They sell a few light snacks but tea/smoothies/coffees is their main speciality and I'm glad they concentrate their efforts on quality drinks vs expanding the menu. My Drink Reviews: 1. Taro Bubble Tea 25% sugar -- amazing! too me it tastes like a mild version of a classic cereal: Fruit Loops. In actuality Taro is a type of sweet root plant. 2. Classic Black Bubble Tea 50% sugar -- Classic black tea, which is strong but not overpowering. Very refreshing 3. Matcha 50% sugar -- YAS!! Amazing!! One of my top 5 favorite flavors. Promise it's not very earthy/leafy. It is rather fresh and tasty! I've just Matcha w/o Milk and Lychee Jelly (25% sugar) and it was very refreshing! The Lychee jelly cubes are a perfect contrast to the green tea. 4. Jasmine Bubble Tea 50% sugar --- this is perfect for a warm summer day. The taste isn't quite as strong as other teas when you add milk. This one is best enjoyed as is. 5. Rose Bubble Tea 50% sugar -- seasonal offering, worth trying once. Not my favorite but it has a pleasant taste. 6. Caramel/ Coconut/Vanilla/ Almond Bubble Tea -- no bueno 7. Tea Lattes are nice if you're in the mood for a very milky drink. I've had the Moonlight Fog and Green Tea Latte before. Both are OK, not my favorites because it's 80% Milk w/ concentrated Tea. 8. O-Cha tea 25% sugar + bubbles -- You can see and taste actual pieces of ginger in this drink!! AMAZING! I still found 25% too sweet. I think the honey ginger makes the drink sufficiently sweet; I think no sugar will be better next time, 9. Matcha Nana Smoothie less sweet w/ regular milk and bubbles -- OMG this was heavenly and so filling!! I stopped by after the gym and tried to "be healthy." It's filled w/ matcha, bananas and peanut butter Its been a while since I had this but it was delicious. 10. Chai Chai Bubble Tea is your classic Indian spicy tea which has strong cardamon flavor. Really cute place off the Main Street. Parking can be challenging but I normally find a spot on a side street. The tea specials are always delicious (I opt for whatever green tea is recommended.) light, airy feel in the smaller space. I take a window seat and relax here with my tea if I'm in the area. I love this place! It took me forever to get here to try it, but I am so happy I finally did because it is worth the 3 visits since and I plan on going many more times. They have a great selection of bubble teas and all of them are super fresh. So far I've had the original milk tea with bubbles and coconut with bubbles. Both are amazing but I prefer the coconut one. I want to try ALL the flavors, but I am such a sucker for coconut flavored things. It's hard to find bubble tea in my area so I am glad that this place is top notch! The owners are very very friendly and already seem to know me. As people have pointed out, the seating area is tiny. I've never been there when it's crowded, but I can see it may get intimate if there are a lot of people waiting around for tea. It takes a couple of minutes to get your tea because they are making it fresh. It is so worth it! There is a sign on the counter that says they prefer cash, but you can also pay by credit card. I usually buy a large at $5.00 since it's only 75 cents more than the regular size. Definitely check this place out if you are craving some bubble tea, it's great! read more

Pretty clean shop, but the bubble tea was quite mediocre and the prices a little bit too expensive. The space on the side is very nice to work at, but the drink offerings here are just not very good. The location is near the outer edges of Ridgewood, and a little difficult to find if you are driving through town. The service is acceptable but not exceptional, as it is easy to lose your order, especially when the shop is busy. I tried the lychee and honeydew milk tea when I came here. While the vanilla tasted as bitter as coffee, the honeydew was overly sweet. The mixes that they seem to be using for their milk tea tastes extremely artificial and seems pretty lacking in flavor, essentially just a mix of chemicals. Mainly for the price, this is not worth it. The interior has a nice arrangement of tables, not too cozy but also a little barren. The shop is relatively spacious, so there's always space to work, but after school seems to end, it fills up very quickly with somewhat loud high schoolers who make working in here nearly unbearable. The location is a little bit obscure, off the side of the main streets in Ridgewood, but this seems to be is one of the few tea shops in the area, so if you are really craving bubble tea, you can try it out for yourself. I wouldn't recommend, unless you are really in the mood for some bubble tea. read more

He is clearly passionate about his product. He's willing to make customizations, I got slushy bubble tea instead of milky. The shop is on the small side, and they don't have much seating. I love the Village Tea Shop! Eugene and Mae are the nicest owners and always got my order right. They gave great recommendations based off of my previously ordered drinks and always remembered my order too! I went almost daily for 3 months and spent most of the day studying for the national physical therapy exam in the shop. The ambiance in the sitting area is beautiful and I focused well on material with background noise of others around- it was the perfect study space for me. I returned to share the good news that I passed the exam and Eugene offered me a tea on the house. They are the sweetest people and their drinks are delicious.
