I explained to him, what I was looking to have done on my new C8 and asked him; What he thought would be best. He took the time, to explain what would be best for my car. I had thought a full protection was best, but based on his professional experience; he explained to me: he did not think it was necessary ,based on the scenario i provided to him. Bottom line: if you have a "standard" job that's fairly easy to do on a non-black car, without any custom work, I would go with them, especially given the reputation that they give a great value. Read on for more details. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Limited in black. I wanted the ENTIRE vehicle done, not just the pre-cut template that XPEL makes. After the initial viewing, I was told that they would have to consult with XPel on a few things and research a few other things before giving me a final quote. That was about a month ago. I called about a week ago and left a message reminding them of my case and that I was looking forward to a call back. It never happened. My assumption: the job is more of a headache than it is profitable. I would be considered the 1% of customers that present more of a liability than the profit is worth. My suggestion to the Shop: if another 1% person comes by, and you don't want the job, quote such a ridiculous price that the person would have to walk away and find someone else. That's what I'd do. But ALWAYS communicate with people; they won't just go away quietly, especially in the days of YELP. read more

This is an updated version of my review, in light of the two additional cars Norbert has done for me: Norbert is diligent, responsive, and thorough. He has done three new cars for us: a 2013 Audi S5; a 2014 Audi SQ5; and, most recently, my new 2015 RS5. Norbert is always quick to get right back to me, answer any questions I have, and has offered to come to me if I wanted him to. I have opted to go to him each time because his place is much more ideal for an install than mine (you should do this, too, for several reasons). His place is super clean and has wi-fi, a lounging area, and so on. He's also close to several places you can go while away a few hours while he does his work. Heartwell Park, Long Beach Towne Center, etc. He is very adaptable and flexible about the installations - with my S5 and RS5 he even added a few pieces to make sure all the areas were covered and perfectly matched. He goes above and beyond -- last weekend when he was doing my RS5, he even covered the door edges! I would never have even thought to ask, but he did it and it's frickin' awesome. He also made sure that he matched the matte finish of the trim around my windshield rather than using glossy film which wouldn't have looked as good. And he truly takes pride in his work. This is not a rushed, assembly line "job" for him; it's really a creative labor of love and it thoroughly shows in his work and his attitude. Like me, he's a passionate car lover. So "good" isn't good enough. It has to be perfect. For such excellent craftsmanship and quality, I would expect to pay more. Please don't tell Norbert, but I'd be happy to pay more. But he kicks ass in this regard as well: for my most recent job, a shop in West LA quoted me a price 40% higher than Norbert's. In summary, over the past three years (and three cars) I've been very impressed by his work, his attention to detail, and his professionalism. Perhaps most important: Norbert is a good guy, and there's not enough of those around! I highly recommend him and Crystal Autoshield. Look no further; this is the place. read more

My car had front end damage repaired from a recent accident. The manager of the collision center where I had the work done made a personal recommendation to use Crystal Autoshield. I was a little hesitant at first because this would be using a different film than had been placed my car several years ago. After talking it over a bit more I decided to move forward. My end to end experience with Norbert has been nothing short of amazing! Like most other hipsters and tech savvy people, I found out about Norbert through Yelp. I requested a quote via his Yelp page. I didn't actually expect a reply (because every time I submit a quote request via other companies and industries, they rarely ever reply). Boy was I wrong. He replied with a quote very promptly in a thoughtful, and professional e-mail. Just this minor detail alone was enough to give me a great first impression. It probably helped that I was very specific with my PPF needs for my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR 4x4. So I ended up scheduling my appointment with Norbert. Most of you car modding enthusiasts know how many shady people you could deal with in the industry for your aftermarket needs (e.g. car stereo/alarm installs, window tinting), so naturally I was very skeptical. All my skepticism was dispelled with my first meeting with him. I could tell from my first meeting that he is very knowledgeable about his trade. He also didn't try to upsell me, and he gave me his honest opinions on what services I should and shouldn't do on my truck. I've gotten several quotes for my Model S from several installer based on yelp reviews. All of them are with 5 stars reviews but most places charges you a whole lot more plus they also charge extra for installing xpel ultimate. First of all, something I like about the quote that give, these guys keep it simple, everything is wrapped edges whenever possible with no extra cost. They keep the packages nice and simple. On their site you can see what platinum package includes visually. Not piece-meal like other installers which to me is a bit confusing. They sent pictures of the template/pattern for the car and some pictures from their past work for the same model car (other installer did too). I found that lots of vendors are very knowledgeable about their trade and enjoyed talking to them but price wise no one beats Crystal Autoshield. I'm skeptical at first because usually you get what you pay for but I figured I'd give them a try based on the good reviews and after all these things are not cheap. Then I contacted them to schedule an appointment. It took couple of days before I finally called Norbert and found out that they are super busy but he will try to contact his partner Koosha and check out his schedule. Not long after Koosha called and we made an appointment. Koosha came on time on the appointment day and he worked close to 10 hours on the day with little break. He hit some snags because of my neighbor has their gardener blowing some dust up and the wind was pretty strong on that day so he had to redo some parts and he did it with no resentment and still able to light heartedly converse with me about the whole situation. Koosha seems like a very nice guy, easy going and the kind of guy that you wouldn't mind hanging out with. Because of the snag, he said he wasn't able to finsih what he planned to do and had to come back the day after to finish up the rear bumper. He came back on time again and finished up the work. Being a bit of perfectionist, it is hard for me to find anything that is perfect, as the saying goes nothing is perfect but what is important to me is the willingness to fix what is not perfect closer to being perfect. I checked most of the wrapped edges and talk to him about some parts that is bothering me and he is super easy to work with. Without any negativity, he spent some more time to rectify the situation. After that he then offered to call me and will plan to come back to check make sure everything settles nicely and also will apply some xpel wax when he is back. I have not worked with any other installer so I can't compare but Koosha being a nice guy, a very meticulous guy and easy to work with. In my mind deserves a 5 star with no reservation. read more

I just had norbert to fix an install on my new 2014 honda accord i had done at another installer (totally half assed the job, went back to him 4 times still couldn't do it right) I contacted Norbert to get warranty work done and he did so without any issues. When i arrived and he saw the install in person he couldnt believe how bad the install was. he thought it was done by a first time installer, but it wasnt. Hubby never yelps but asked me to write a good review for Norbert. I have to say I am more than impressed with Norbert because hubby is really hard to please. Hubby has eagle eyes and sees all the nits, fine lines, fingerprints, imperfections everywhere he goes (which can be really annoying sometimes). He once ripped off the screen protective film on my iPhone because I had a microscopic air bubble that I did not even notice but it bothered him endlessly. Our house was covered with blue tapes marking imperfections after our remodeling walk-through. Hubby has, however, been extremely happy with Norbert's work, which speaks volumes. My untrained eye probably can't tell a superb job from an OK one but I do observe that Norbert really takes his time to get the job done right.
