I'm extremely disappointed with how a recent warranty claim was handled. A few years ago, I had this team come to my house to replace my windshield. Recently, I noticed moisture accumulating and water dripping from the pillar, so I contacted them to honor the 'lifetime warranty' they advertise. The technician who came out to my home was professional, but the company's logic for denying the claim is a major 'catch-22.' They refused to perform the warranty work because they 'suspected' corrosion under the seal, yet they had no actual verification that rust exists. They told me I needed a body shop because if they pulled the glass, they might not be able to put it back together. Here is the problem: when the original technician did the install at my house, they never mentioned any rust or prep issues. If there is corrosion there now, it is almost certainly because their seal failed and allowed water to sit against the metal for years. It feels like they are using a symptom of their own faulty workmanship as an excuse to void the warranty. A 'lifetime warranty' is useless if the company won't take responsibility for the damage their leaking seal likely caused. I'm now stuck with a leaking car and a company that won't stand behind the work they did in my own driveway. read more

Worst "repair" I've ever seen. Literally a simple dime size rock chip. Tech gives me back my car and it looks the exact same as when I brought it in. Run you finger over the glass and you could still feel the sharp edge of the ding. Spider edges could still be seen. Spoke with the "manager" who quickly said he didn't know how it looked prior to me bringing it in. Blamed me for not understanding how the "process" worked. read more

Feels like a scam my issue was I had a chip in window to be fixed and repaired. I was told hey it can be fixed and repaired. It'll leave a scar but that's it. I come out. The guy says got good news and I got bad news fixed the chip spot but cracked another part of the windshield and there was nothing i could do about it. I paid $178. I have brought in 3 of my vehicles in the last few years. Every single business transaction has been a breeze here at Safelite AutoGlass! They have come to my house before to replace a windshield, and most recently, today, I brought in my commuter for the same thing. I parked my car in an open lot last week. Didn't come back for a few hours, and when I walked up to my Stella, she had a HUGE crack spanning halfway through on the driver's side. **GASP!** =0 I called my insurance to file a claim and got this appointment set up right away. My original appointment was set for Saturday, the 3rd, but I had to switch it to today due to my social life, lol. My 1:30 pm appointment got moved up earlier, as there was a cancelation. I got a call from the staff, and they let me know I could come in sooner. I checked in right around 12:15, and they were done in about an hour. It was fast, easy, and affordable. I did pay a small deductible, but thank goodness for insurance! =) Once they were done, Eric took my payment, walked me out, and explained what they did. I didn't have any special gadgets as this was the original stock windshield. It was quick, and Eric was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. On 9/5/25, the windshield was installed properly by Safelite tech. However, he damaged the driver's side rear-view mirror switch mechanism and left a dangerous razor sharp tool/knife in the car where someone could have been injured. This is what happened: When the tech arrived, he asked me to pull my car out of the carport parking spot and reposition the vehicle to face outward from the spot and not inward. When the job was complete, I got into my car and noticed the driver's side rear-view mirror was no longer positioned the way I usually have it. The mirror was all the way to the furthest extreme left position. He apparently repositioned the mirror during the work. Understand that if the mirror had been in the furthest extreme left position when I backed the car into the carport spot, I would not have had the necessary visibility to avoid possibly colliding with the carport support uprights. After the tech left and I discovered the mirror had been pushed out of position, I attempted to reposition it using the rear view mirror switch. The mirror switch was now malfunctioning and would only work for up, down and right positions. The mirror motor can no longer move the mirror to the left. To summarize, I discovered that the mirror had been pushed to the extreme left and now the mirror motor can no longer move the mirror to the left. Obviously, during the windshield installation, the mirror was forcibly pushed by hand or by an object causing damage to the driver side rear view mirror positioning mechanism. I scheduled an at-home inspection of the damage by Safelite for 9/6/25, however, I did not receive that inspection visit. Instead, I received a phone call from the techs manager. The manager did not offer any help with the repair or offer any compensation, discount, etc. I also found him to be quite rude due to his repeated interruptions as I attempted to explain my concerns. Additionally, I discovered after he left that the tech left a large razor sharp tool/knife on the floor of the drivers side where someone could have gotten hurt. For those with kids or who wear sandals please check your car for sharp objects after the tech has completed the work. See pictured below. I will not be a repeat customer, nor will my friends and family. Update: Was invited to contact customer service regarding this incident. Spoke to a rep named Dixie who said, "I DO apologize". She told me one of the local quality control reps would contact me by the end of the week. That was a month ago and I never received a call. read more

Never, not even the repair place I took my vehicle to will never do business with them again. What's the use of having insurance if Safelite expects you to pay for all of their cost upfront and then says oh, we will reimburse you. They are some kind of front for racketeering, extortion and fraud. They don't take calls only emails making you go around in circles and nothing gets done. Just their demand for payment to them and false promises to pay the repair shop. Poor quality service + zero value of a company. I remember now, they charge prime rates and send kids to do the work of fixing a crack. I've had two very bad experiences with them. If you are wise- stay clear of SAFELITE AUTO GLASS and learn from other people's mistakes of working with them or be dumb and take the risk. Received a huge crack in my front windshield on Tuesday and by Thursday I had this company come to my home and replace the window under 2 hours. The tech Anthony was polite, knowledgeable, professional, courteous and efficient. The value provided cannot be understated. Price was very reasonable for my Acura. Overall not bad. I had a Tesla windshield replaced here. They scheduled the appointment for the afternoon and when I showed up I was told that it's a morning drop off as it takes all day to repair Tesla windshields. I rescheduled for the next week at 9am, and dropped my car off the day prior because I work an AM shift. I was told my car would be ready by 3pm. I received at test at 11am that work had begun on my car. When I arrived at 3 my car was not finished yet and waited over an hour to finish calibrating the windshield cameras. All of this would've been nice to know ahead of time to reduce all of the delays and waiting around. The windshield seems to be installed properly and so far no issues. read more

It was easy to set-up the appointment and I started getting appointment reminder by text after I opted in. I selected the option to install at my home so I didn't need to take time away from work. A big dumb truck kicked up a rock making a serious crack in our windshield. I contacted our insurance company and they said Safelite would repair for free or if needed replace for $50 based on our coverage. We called and they got us in that afternoon. Windshield had to be replaced, which they did as well as recalibrate the camera system connected to the mirror. The job was done as promissed. We picked the car up and the windshield looked great. Paid our co-pay of $50 and they emailed us all our warrenty information. The process was easy and getting a $700 windshield for $50 did not break the bank. This has been the worst experience ever and feel like they did a classic "bait 'n switch" job on me to obtain a substantial insurance claim payment, even when they MUST have known upfront that they couldn't complete the work. As an executive in an international company that focuses on customer service, I am hyper-aware of what a good customer experience is, and this was NOT IT. This situation left me feeling as if this company has no moral compass and is truly just out to make a quick dollar, not considering what's in the best interest of the customer. On top of that, I honestly feel lied to and intend to share my experience with everyone I can. To provide a recap of this debacle for clarity: I contacted them at the end of March to replace a windshield on a brand-new vehicle (only 3 months old) and due to the complexity of the car and the sheer price to replace, this was submitted through my insurance. I was able to get OEM glass because again, the car was so new that non-OEM glass wasn't even available. Safelite initially set an appointment and then cancelled since they didn't have the glass available to them and had to order the glass directly from Mercedes. THIS SHOULD HVE BEEN THE FIRST SIGN that they may run into issues recalibrating...but no, they said nothing and made the appointment to replace the glass and recalibrate the safety systems. I took my car in on this past Saturday and after they ALREADY REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD, they called to tell me that the car was too new and that they couldn't access the software to recalibrate the systems. As a result, they said I would have to take the car to the Mercedes dealership and have them recalibrate the windshield, adding that it "shouldn't cost me more money". So not only did they not complete the work, but I also still had to pay them the $500 deductible on top of the payment they will be getting from my insurance company. I am 99.89% sure they did this to get the over $2,000 payment from my insurance company (+my $500) even though they KNEW that they could not recalibrate the windshield and had they told me that (being honest) upfront, knew that I would not have had them replace my windshield. Why would I????? So yes, I wholeheartedly believe they kept the fact that they were unable to recalibrate the windshield from me, were completely unethical in accepting my vehicle knowing they couldn't complete the service quoted and caused me additional inconvenience and out-of-pocket expense to make yet another appointment with Mercedes, take a day off work and pay Mercedes out-of-pocket to recalibrate the windshield. Luckily, my insurance will reimburse me the cost I just paid Mercedes today BUT how much of my time and sanity has been completely wasted dealing with such a horrible company as Safelite. In speaking with both my insurance company and Mercedes, they BOTH said, "WHY would they replace the windshield if they knew they couldn't recalibrate it?!?!". Well, that's the million-dollar question!!! And the "we didn't know we couldn't" is complete and utter nonsense. If you had to order a windshield from Mercedes because they car (make and model) were so new, this should have been the first of many indicators that you should have confirmed your ability to recalibrate. But seeing that honesty and transparency is not in their business model, I unfortunately have fallen prey to their deceptive business practices. As an added gut-punch, the manager gave me his card in the event I needed assistance after expressing my extreme disappointment that day. I emailed him on Saturday (same day as service) that the receipt indicated it was non-OEM glass and requested some documentation that it was in fact OEM glass. Here it is 4 days later and STILL NO RESPONSE. I don't know how much more insulting this experience can get! Shame on you Safelite. read more

OH Acura sold me a brand new car with a crack in the windshield. Found after purchase near where the temp license plate goes and never would have bought it had I known. They used factory grade shipped in with Safelite to install and my car had me crying. You're better off just going to a certified windshield replacement for your make and model. These guys don't know how to calibrate the windshield once it's on there. I did a little digging and asking around and 7 out of the 8 people I asked about having their windshield replaced DID NOT HAVE IT CALIBRATED afterward. One month later, I schedule a warranty repair because I can hear the wind coming through and the Murrieta shop cancels my appointment (I have screenshots of the customer service rep explaining this to me but they couldn't say who at the shop cancelled). So I wasted half of my day waiting for a non existent appointment with no fixed windshield. No one at the shop answered, 30 mins before closing. Like I said before, if you're going through your insurance, look elsewhere for a certified installer. Safelite will just see you as an opportunity to take your deductible and run with it. DONT DO IT. Sadly my insurance company is contracted with Safelite and they referred me here. I had an issue with a my back glass as it had a leak that I noticed this rainy season. There were no cracks or visible damage on the glass. I dropped it off and after they visually inspected it they told me to leave it there as they would also service the windshield. I get a call a few hours later stating that there's bad news! They removed my perfectly good original back glass to replace it and said they can no longer replace it due to paint chipping away?!! They said this was kias fault and most likely a factory defect or a recall. I was upset but still open to this possibility so I left with only a plastic wrap in the back. After talking to a Kia representative I was informed that there is no recall of the sort and that this is not paint chipping but rather it was completely pulled out in an improper manner so that's why the paint got damaged. They said that since a third party tampered with my car they could no longer work on it as this voided any warranty and it would have to be addressed by a third party so they told me to go back. The rest of the paint in the car was inspected and no other issues were found. I went back to safelite and I told the manager Fabian about this and he got super defensive and told me I was basically on my own so I had to call my insurance. It is crazy to me how I went in with 2 windows and left with just ONE! and basically a cheap plastic in the back. I just wish they had told me before hand that they would not be able to service my car or that this was a know issue as they claimed afterwards that it was. Had they told me about this I would have never left my car here and I would have just gone to my car dealership in the first place. I am insured with State Farm insurane My car had a winshield repair that needed to be done I called my insurance and scheduled to have it repaired with Safelite I was supposed to be contacted in 2-3 business hors as stated by my claims dept. waited 3 days and finally I called to schedule the reapir myself, It took them 1 1/2 weeks to coordinate. They schedule my appopintment for 11 am the day of at 7:30. I receive a text "today is the day to bring your car" so I continue on with my plan. I coordinated for someone to drop me off and someone to asssit me so I could pick up my car in like 3 hours (CAr needed Calibration). I receive a text an hour before that my appointment has been rescheduled for another week because the glass did not come in. Just poor customer service. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Safelite Auto Glass was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I wish I had never tried to trust them with my vehicle. First, the scheduling process was a joke don't try and call them unless you don't mind being caught in an automated A.I. loop. There is NO talking to a human. I finally made an appointment for a windshield replacement a week in advance, thinking that they were a reputable company that could handle something as simple as glass repair. Boy, was I wrong. I was contacted by Safelite the afternoon prior to my appt to confirm the appt. The lady I spoke to was very nice and explained the process. Problem 1, my appt was at 8am for a 4-6-hour repair so 2pm at the latest it should be complete, right? Nope I was informed it would be an all day appointment. My appt was set for 8am, I asked if I could drop my car off at 7am and use their drop box because I had to bring my wife to work. I was told that would be no problem and that's what the drop box was for. Just so everyone understands, the car being dropped off was a Model 3 Tesla and I'm able to see my car through the built in cameras. At 9am the car was still sitting in the same spot, I didn't think too much of it being there was a 4-6 hour window. I went about my day running here and there and picked up my wife from work at 11:30. I arrived at her work a little early and decided to check on my car and at 11:20 it still hadn't moved. I picked up my wife and headed home. At 1210 I finally received a text from Safelite and it stated "Your replacement service on your XXXX Tesla Model 3 has started. So, a little late but ok they have started, and I can stop worrying, right? As I said earlier, I can see my car from anywhere there is Cell Service, at 2pm the car still hadn't moved. Lucky for me I saved the number that the receptionist used to confirm my appt so I call them. I asked if there was a problem with my car. She asked for my name and I heard her on the keyboard typing and without missing a beat she was like, No Mr. XXXXXX I have you car in the bay and it looks like the window is done and in camera alignment. I told her thank you, but you do know that I own a Tesla and I can see through the cameras and I still see it sitting in the same handicap spot I parked in at 7am this morning. She stuttered a little and with disbelief she said yes Mr. XXXXX I see your car out the front window. She asked me to please hold. When the Service Supervisor finally got on the phone, the problems only escalated. Not only did he come up with an excuse that they didn't even know my car was there and the service Tech grabbed the worn service order I got no apology and that they will rush my car in and get it done. Trying to maintain my composure I asked him that it's now 2:30pm and you close at 5pm so what was to be a 4-6-hour job you're going to get done in 2.5 hours? I told him you are not rushing my car and that I was on my way to it pick up. Save yourself the headache and your hard-earned money--take your car to literally any other glass repair shop. Safelite's total lack of professionalism and customer care is truly appalling. I'll never go back, and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know to steer clear of this disaster of a company. read more

Waited until 9:30 to find out the guy texted me (and I am not checking texts) and said "if you do nto respond to the text I have to move on..." what a passive aggressive move. We needed a rock chip repaired in the windshield of our car. This was a warranty repair. At our insurance company's direction, we contacted the local Safelite franchise in Murrieta. We opted for Safelite to come to our home rather than bring the car to them. We were advised of a time frame between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. We asked for a more precise arrival time but were unsuccessful. At 1:30 PM Kahlil arrived. Kal was a very pleasant young man. He advised us of what to expect from the repair. Kal completed his work in about 15 minutes and left. The repair met our expectations. Our only negative - that we experience with other service providers - is a lack of communication and a lack of respect for customer's time. Someone should buy Safelite a watch. read more

I never like to leave bad reviews, but this is just beyond terrible service. After having my windshield cracked in two places, my mom booked an appointment with Safelite through our insurance (this is the only place that would take our insurance). She had been messaging back and forth with a manager there and had an appointment all set up for me. But when I showed up to our appointment, the guy at the front desk had no idea what I was talking about. It took him 5 minutes to find the messages proving we had the appointment, but confirmed the parts for the windshield had not arrived yet and just said " I have no idea why they would tell you it would be here today". I rescheduled the appointment for the next week, but when I was getting ready to return my mom told me the manager she had been speaking with canceled the appointment without asking us. My mom had to reschedule the appointment again and returned to get it fixed another week later. This time they only had one part, and said they couldn't fix the windshield until they had both parts. So they had to reschedule our appointment AGAIN. Finally I went in the next week and they were able to fix the windshield and the window, but I have not stopped finding issues with the car since our appointment. Every single setting in the car was re-set. Not just windshield settings, but my audio settings, my seat no longer had its pre set saved, and the brightness on my display was turned all the way down. On top of that, my windows no longer roll down automatically with one push, and I can no longer use my cruise control. When we left my battery was fully dead AND they had turned my headlights off. I have no idea why a majority of these settings were changed in the first place, and I am STILL finding issues with the car almost a week after the appointment. I dont want to name any names, but I have to say this is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had. read more

Unfortunately, I have to write a less than stellar review. I have had several windshields replaced here as my insurance recommends using Safelite. In one vehicle they cut the lane detection wires and then twisted tinfoil over them to repair. Sensor started acting up and I found out about the repair once I took it to the dealer who identified the issue. They did take ownership and replaced the harness when I brought the finding to their attention. Most recently the replaced the windshield in my Tahoe and the glass quality was terrible, warped vision through the glass. They agreed to replace but stated all the glass would be similar because they buy in bulk and lower quality is what was purchased. In the time we waited to hear back on better replacement glass, several weeks, we got rid of the vehicle. My advice, check your glass if replaced and ensure it is good, if not know it is going to take longer than expected for resolution. read more

Tech did a good job accidentally broke a part on my vehicle. He was very professional the problem started with management trying to get reimbursed for what I had to pay the dealership for repairs.
