I called the office asking if they offer Vivera retainers, they said yes. I paid for Vivera retainers but I was given another brand. I asked them to order the Vivera brand instead and they said ok. Great and friendly staff and the best dental experience, ever. I had a very short wait, if you can even call it that. It was the easiest first visit I can recall to see a dentist and the staff did a phenomenal job getting me onboard. Dr. Hsu is such easy going that he made the visit enjoyable. He personally deep-cleaned my teeth which was the best I've ever experienced. His attention to detail is what you want from a dentist. I saw that this new dental office had opened and went in for a regular cleaning/check-up. Very thorough cleaning by Dr. Hsu, who is the owner of this office. After the cleaning, we went over a root canal I've been too lazy to take care of for over ten years. A tooth that had a dark fade that didn't bother me too much but definitely was noticeable. He made me feel like treating the root canal was totally up to me. Which was nice. In the end, it took me total of two visits to get my teeth cleaned, x-ray/check-up, root canal treatment, crown fitting, temporary crown put in, and to get my perfectly color-matched permanent crown put in all at very reasonable cost with my dental insurance. Now my dad can stop bothering me to get my "dark tooth" fixed every time I go back home. Friendly staff and doctor. Oh yeah, the new office/equipment and the free take-home whitening kit is a plus. I heard about this new dental practice and was long overdue for a cleaning that I put off. Dr. Hsu did a great job with my cleaning. The office is in a new plaza and is very welcoming and comfortable. After taking my x-rays with the assistant, Dr. Hsu did my cleaning and took the time to explain where I had worn fillings and went over some suggestions for my routine in a friendly way that didn't make me feel judged for not coming in sooner for my cleaning or flossing as regularly as I should. He and his staff were also great about explaining my payment options and made sure I was taken care of. Just came back from their office for a teeth cleaning. I had a very pleasant time there. EVeryone there is very smiling, friendly, welcoming and natural. Not like most other offices where people are very business like and act and speak in a robotic way. This is the only dental office I have been to in America that I actually felt I was interacting with real human. Anyways, three highlights of this place i noticed. first, their equipment and technology are much more advanced than other clinics. Their X-ray machine is much smaller and easier to use, which made the whole x-ray process much efficient and less discomfort on the patients. Second,Dr. Allan Hsu's skills on cleaning is superior. I have very sensitive teeth and gum disease, so I was amazed I actually did not feel much during the whole process, Dr. Hsu was very considerate and gentle and through as well. And after the cleaning, my teeth felt so fresh and clean, my teeth felt even cleaner than when I first finished my deep teeth cleaning surgery 2 months ago. third Dr. Hsu is a very patient, gentle and natural person, he took the time to explain and instruct everything to me, answered all my questions. I feel he is a very honest and down to earth type person, and really look out for his patents' benefits. A big plus this office has is Dr. Hsu speaks Chinese, so if your first language is Chinese, I don't think you can find a better fit than here. And the assistant Bettie is a very sweet person, she works on my teeth very gently too. If the full score is 10, I will give them 9.5 only because they forgot to give me the new patient gift bag. it;s ok, they might give me when I return next time. This place is brand new. I mean when I was there they were still installing the tvs! When you come in, it's like a hotel which is not what you expect at a dental office. The front desk was very friendly, normally I have to bring my insurance card to my dental appointments, but they did all that for me which is nice. Okay, when I say in the chair I was impressed with their gadgets! 2 tvs in each room, one on the ceiling to watch while lying down. Nice. Dr hsu showed me in detail on my xrays something about my bone receding because I'm not flossing enough ... he even used an ipad to diagram all that. Oh and he did the cleaning for me and not a hygienist which was different too. Anyway, when I left they hooked me up with a take home bleaching kit and best part .. no money out of my pocket :) You should check this place out! They are new and could use the help lol. read more

My sister recommended me to visit Dr. Hsu's office and I gave a shot after double-checking with great reviews. I was expecting to get a crown done on one of my teeth that other dentist highly recommended, but Dr. Hsu saved my teeth and money from getting the crown done - I grind my teeth at night severely and my teeth became too short that he told me it would be best to get the fillings done instead. Already having a bridge on my lower right teeth, it was such a relief that he saved my tooth by fillings with other small operations. He worked very gently and made sure I felt comfortable throughout. Having said I grind my teeth severely, I also got a night guard from him, which felt so comfortable at night. I used to wear night guard that I bought from drug store and it never felt comfortable and I sometimes woke up in the middle of the night. After getting a comfortable night guard from Dr. Hsu, I sleep really well! I didn't mean to write a long review but I had to express how I feel so thankful and lucky to meet Dr. Hsu! My experience at crystal lake dental was at the top of its class. Being my first time here, the staff was very friendly and made sure that my insurance was accepted first before they confirmed the appointment with me. On the phone they explained to me what my benefits were if I was looking simply for a teeth cleaning. Once there, they took x rays of my teeth, and Dr. Hsu reviewed the x rays, made sure I wasn't feeling any pain, then began the cleaning. I was able to get in and get out in less than 45 min and had Dr. Hsu's personal attention the entire time. Finding a good dentist is difficult these days but I can now honestly say that I've found one. Dr. Hsu at Crystal Lake Dental is about as good as it gets as far as dentists go. I've had a teeth cleaning, two fillings and two crowns done by Dr. Hsu in the last few weeks. Considering all that work, the pain was a non-issue and that was very appreciated for sure. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The office itself is brand new and comes with free Wi-Fi. Every exam room has two TVs (one on the wall and one on the ceiling) so you have something to occupy yourself while they fix up your teeth. One of the things I like most about Dr. Hsu is that he always explains exactly what he's going to do before he does it. For me, I like knowing what to expect during a procedure. I can't say how happy I am that I gave Dr. Hsu a visit and would highly recommend him to everyone I know. Sounds corny to say but I actually enjoy going to my dentist now. read more
