I finished my Invisalign treatment with Austin Orthodontics and overall my experience was great and I'm happy with my Invisalign results. I came in for a minor treatment to get my teeth aligned straighter after some movement after having braces as a teenager. Prior to coming here, I did research around with other offices but ended up going here due to the affordability, they were in network with my insurance and the good reviews with Dr. Briggs. With Invisalign I didn't needed to come in often and I only saw Dr. Briggs 2-3 times out of the whole treatment, but everyone else on the team that I saw were nice and knowledgeable. Shoutout to Samantha R. for taking good care of me throughout the experience and patiently answering all my questions and concerns. She is very thorough and careful in putting on and taking off the brackets. Overall, great care and I would recommend others to come here for a consult too. We had an excellent experience. The office is very clean and they use modern technology to make the process efficient. The provider was thorough in his explanation of treatment and had videos to help understand the process. The coordinator was also thorough and was all done paperless and made it easy to access documents for a parent. We did not start treatment due to pricing as it is on the higher end for our budget. I can personally speak to this since I'm in the dental field, but given the office, the provider, staff, and treatment plan the cost is priced well and in my opinion worth it. read more

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Seth Briggs and his entire staff. I decided to treat myself (and listen to the advice of my dentist) and get braces as an older adult. I went for traditional braces instead of invisilign as I wanted it done. No backing out. In for a penny - in for a pound. With my crowded teeth it took a full two years but it was totally worth it. My smile is awesome. I wish I had done it 30 years ago! Dr. Briggs is very attentive and every staff member I worked with was welcoming and professional. He obviously hires great people. I'm sure they are great with kids as well and in a few years I'll likely be bringing one if mine in for their own braces. Highly recommend them. Worth every penny. read more

Dr. Briggs is the best!! My daughter loves coming to Dr. Briggs as he is very gentle and attentive with kids and explains the treatment in detail. She was initially very scared to get her braces but after meeting with Dr. Briggs all her worries were gone and she is now excited for all her visits. The staff is great too, all are very gentle and attentive in their treatment and explain things in detail. No one tries to rush the appointment. So overall pretty satisfied and happy with the orthodontic treatment we are getting from Dr. Briggs and his staff. Update: After 7 months my daughter's braces are removed and the entire experience has been great. The bite correction and space creation in her upper jaw was prefect. Dr.Briggs quoted me for a 12 month Invisalign treatment after being in treatment for 6 months already with another Ortho and was asking for $7,500. Double the price of my last quote, when I asked to see the plan before I agree to pay that amount his office never responded but continually sent emails and texts asking me to agree to the $7,500. When I did contact them again I was told Dr.Briggs was not confident he could "meet my expectations". Edited to add in response to Seth Briggs comment: My request to see the treatment that I would be paying for was smart and it seems that you have an issue with customers advocating for themselves. And now bringing up and using a terrible experience at a past Orthodontist against me as a reason to not treat me is terrible. Of course I don't trust you, why would I trust someone I just met, especially with $7,500? Trust is earned and you have shown that my instincts were accurate. You have not been helpful is remedying a terrible past experience when I was fully ready to have a great experience here, but have now made it harder for me to find an Orthodontist in this city. read more

My permanent retainer became unbonded during the weekend and I needed a quick repair - but I had never been to an Ortho in Austin and didn't know where to start. I did a ton of research and ended up calling Austin Orthodontics first, and I'm so glad I did, because I had a truly delightful experience getting the repair completed! Every person who helped me during this process was so caring, polite, and kind. I first spoke with Daniella - and right off the bat, she gave me clear and transparent pricing on what the likely services would cost - loved that. Then she sent me over new patient paperwork to fill out and called me back no more than 5 minutes after I submitted them to book me an appointment. I didn't expect such a quick response - she was on it! I got booked an appt for their first opening (about 48 hours later), which was OK with me for a wait time to get in. Once I arrived, Mayra got to work on figuring out what I needed. She helped with my super finicky glue / bite situation and was so patient with my dental anxiety. She kept filing away until I was satisfied and was committed to making sure I felt good about how my bite felt against the glue before she finished up. Even though I was in for a simple repair, I also met Dr Briggs, which was unexpected and delightful. He made me feel like I was an important new patient, even though I was just in for a little fix. I didn't catch the names of the lovely front desk girls and the Office Manager that helped me check out and process payment - but they were also just fantastic. So quick, efficient, and caring about my time. I don't need any additional Orthodontic work done.. but I hope I find another reason to come back for a future visit because it was quite a wonderful experience. :) Thanks y'all! read more

Dr. Briggs has been very enjoyable to work with, and has built a great team at his practice. They are very good with communication about appointments and scheduling, and were helped me understand what I had to ask my insurance provider to get the full orthodontic benefits from my policy. Austin Ortho keeps up with the latest technology, and keeps their staff trained in new techniques. Dr. Briggs is caring and compassionate and you can tell he loves the connection with his patients. I'm 52 and getting braces to re-straighten my teeth while my daughter 12 year old daughter is getting braces. She had a great experience in his care for the palate expander and phase one of braces on her front teeth, so she has not anxiety about this next phase of full braces. Middle School is hard enough, so I'm glad she doesn't have worries about her braces on top of that. read more

The treatment recommended was the most reasonable and sensible in terms of addressing the actual needs of the patient. I have a permanent retainer behind my bottom teeth, and one day the glue on one of the brackets came off my tooth. That's never happened in the 15 years I've had it. I called the only orthodontist I knew, Dr. Briggs! They were very helpful, discussed pros and cons of my two options, and then fixed it right then. I thought I would have to schedule a second appointment to actually fix it, but I didn't. I've had no problems with it, and it was several months ago. Side note: the only time I'd ever seen Dr Briggs before was when I went for the consultation with my daughter. It was 6-9 months prior to this permanent retainer problem. But as he was fixing my retainer he asked if I'd been in before bc, even though I was a new patient, he said I looked familiar. Then I told him I'd come with my daughter and he remembered stuff from her visit. What? That's some impressive people skills. read more

Dr. Briggs is, in my opinion, as good as an orthodontist can be. I honestly could not improve a single thing. I say that after spending a year and a half working with another orthodontist who has a highly visible practice in the Westlake area. The quality of service was so much better with Dr. Briggs it is really remarkable. After going through a double jaw surgery, and extensive work on my mouth with numerous specialists Briggs stands out from the pack on many levels. My periodontist, who is excellent himself, told me he had not worked with Dr. Briggs prior to my case but now regards him as the best orthodontist in Austin and will have his own kids go to him. I was very disappointed with Austin Orthodontics. To give some background, I am a young professional working in tech. I tried setting up an appointment with them 2-3 weeks in advance. I am generally a busy person, and so setting up an appointment with them was a major time commitment. I wanted to meet with Dr. Briggs to get his opinion on moving forward with dental treatment since undergoing treatment in my early teens. To prepare, I made arrangements with my previous orthodontists in another state to send information to this office regarding my dental history. After multiple forth sessions involving Dr. Briggs office's fax not working, the office assured me they had received scans of my dental history (so I thought). The day of my appointment, I came in anxiously to meet with Dr. Briggs, having heard very good things about his business acumen and quality of care. However, when I got there and sat down for my appointment, the staff notified me that they were unable to get my dental history (x-rays, scans, everything.) I was shocked because I confirmed with my previous orthodontists that it was sent. Turns out, Austin Orthodontic's fax was still broken and the office didn't receive it. This got me upset, because I had already invested a huge amount of time coordinating this appointment, and on top of that, the office lied about receiving the paperwork. Still, I tried to make the most of meeting with Dr. Briggs. I explained my previous orthodontic procedures I had done (braces, palatal expander, retainer), and how I was looking for someone who could help advise me with the best course of action when it came to braces or jaw surgery. Within a mere 15 minutes, I learned that the office had already pre-determined my needs, having drafted a $2000+ braces treatment that I could start that day. I politely declined, and decided to go along my way. I would have appreciated it more if (1) the office did not lie to me that they had received my paperwork when they didn't ( I think they expected their fax to be repaired by the time I came in, but it was not.) (2) Dr. Briggs actually made an effort to understand my needs without having to pitch an expensive treatment without assessing my full needs. When I suggested that I would like a second opinion from a jaw surgeon in the Austin area, Dr. Briggs was hesitant to help me further, believing that he had enough assessment to recommend a 1-year dental plan. ............ Disappointed because I hate to tarnish the reputation of a promising business, but sad to say, Dr Briggs and his team epitomized the saying, "profits are more important than health." read more

I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Briggs and Austin Orthodontics. I went through braces, jaw surgery, and now retainer with Dr. Briggs over the last ~3 years, and he worked with me often during this period. He is a kind person, does a high caliber of work, and is extremely responsive if something feels off or broken. In addition, the work he does is in the patient's best interest, rather than what the patient "wants" to hear, which I view as a clear positive. He also works often with the surgeon that worked on my jaw - Dr. Andrea Quaroni - who I think is the best jaw surgeon in the area. The techs working here are proficient as well. They are a major reason that my braces treatment - unlike many of my friends and relatives at other orthodontists - finished exactly on schedule, 18 months on the dot. All-around 5-star experience. They are the best! Everyone is friendly, from the ladies at the front desk to the orthodontic assistants to Dr. Briggs. The staff who works on my braces has always made sure I was comfortable and explained what they were going to to do before they did it, as well as answered any questions I had. They are very gentle, and I can confidently say that none of them have ever been rough or messed up and all my experiences have been pain-free. Just maybe a little awkward at the times when you are having to stretch your mouth as far open as it will go. I have been a patient of Dr. Briggs for about 4 years now (And having actually been coming to that office for over 14 years, when it was under a different name. The name changed, but the top-notch quality of care remained the same). Also, they are always running on time - I never have to wait. Scheduling is a breeze. I have always been able to get in if I broke a bracket or something. And follow-ups are quick. If I was just getting my braces tightened, they have had me in and out in less than 20 minutes. Thanks for being awesome just all around! Oh, and the tea & coffee machine in the waiting area with little biscotti is such a nice added touch! In the summer they often have popsicles too. read more
