My wonderful general dentist, Dr. Shipra Gupta at Lakeline Family Dental suggested I have a consultation with Dr. Akash Pandya, (Doc Ak) at SmileOn. The first visit was very comprehensive and various treatment options and payment plans were presented. I was grateful that my dental insurance would cover most of the cost. I decided to get the clear Angel aligners. I was awed and a bit overwhelmed by the equipment in the office and the ability to take a few pictures and have aligners made for the year. The front office staff, the patient care coordinator, and the certified dental assistants are GREAT. You can have the best dental work but, staff makes the difference. Always encouraging and happy. And, every staff member has beautiful teeth. That, to me, was a good sign. -- Doc Ak and staff try to make the orthodontist visits a little fun by having monthly contests, raffles, and quizzes. While these activities are probably geared more toward younger patients, I must admit, I did participate in some of them. Prizes are awarded to the monthly winners and are announced in the informative monthly newsletter. Most of the activity with the aligners took place at home. I would take weekly pictures of the aligners in and out of my mouth using the Grin app and then progress to the next aligner after SmileOn review. I didn't think I would get through a years' worth of weekly aligner changes but, here I am, almost at the end of my treatment. Next step - whitening. I AM SO GLAD I MADE THE DECISION TO HAVE MY TEETH STRAIGTENED. I can't imagine a better orthodontist or practice than SmileOn. You deserve a terrific smile.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Seth Briggs and his staff at Austin Orthodontics. Honestly, it was a bit by chance that my daughter's orthodontic care was transferred to Dr. Briggs when we moved from out of state a few years ago, but he managed and completed her care with great results. He has since treated my son with expansion as we continue to monitor his development, and we believe in Dr. Briggs so much that even my wife is in treatment to address issues from previous orthodontic care. Aside from the confidence that I have in Dr. Brigg's professional skills and acumen, his chair side manner, personality and demeanor make it clear that he really cares. One of the highest compliments is when colleagues entrust you with their care and that of their family. So, if it is any indication just how well thought of Dr. Briggs is as an orthodontist and a person, I know of several other dental professionals that put their families' orthodontic care in the hands of Dr. Briggs and his fantastic staff.

This is only my second bad review online in my whole life because I understand how important…read morereviews are for a business. However, I sincerely hope what happened to us will not happen to other kids or parents. We started my daughter's orthodontic treatment on 2/5/2025. The treatment plan cost $5,510, and the main issue was her underbite. In May 2026, the doctor told us that my daughter was ready to have her braces removed and that his work was done. At that time, I told him there was still a big gap around the left canine. He continued the treatment for another four months. After those additional four months, he told us that everything was now perfect and removed the braces. Before the braces were removed, I told him that now the gaps were open on both sides, the upper teeth were slightly tilted, and my daughter had also developed what looked like buckteeth. He told me that the bite was good and that the teeth would bite together after the braces were removed. After the braces were taken off, I told him very clearly that this was not the result he had originally told us we would get, and it was not what I paid for.He insisted that his work was done and said that he could not put the braces back on because we did not pay for a second set of braces.I told him that I did not pay for two or three sets of braces. I paid for the entire orthodontic treatment to be completed correctly. He responded, "How about the time I put into this?"I told him that I never asked him to refund the treatment fee. My time and my daughter's time are also valuable. However, you spoke as if I had not paid you enough to complete the treatment properly?I asked him several times to communicate with me about a solution and actually listen to what I was saying. He responded by saying that those four teeth did not need to touch each other. He said that when my daughter eats, the teeth will touch, and when she grinds her teeth from side to side, they will also touch.I asked him, "Who is going to grind their teeth from side to side all day long ?I also asked him why he did not use articulating or bite paper to check the gaps and contact points between the teeth, because I personally have had orthodontic treatment before, and my other children have also had orthodontic treatment with other orthodontists. He said he did not need to use the paper because he could simply look with his eyes.He then pointed to the front two teeth and said, "See, the front two teeth are touching the lower teeth."I looked closely and told him that only one of the teeth was actually touching. He immediately changed what he was saying and told me that both teeth did not need to touch the lower teeth and that one tooth touching was enough. He said all of these issues were within tolerance and functional. It's the shape of the teeth, not the gaps. I can't believe that comes from a doctor who just ignores all the issues we pointed out and refuse to admit that he is unable to complete his job. He then turned around and asked my 15-year-old daughter, "Do you want to continue wearing braces, or are you happy with it?" I told him, "How can you, as a 50-year-old adult man, design a question like this and ask a 15 yrs teenage girl?"Anyone who has worn braces for that long is obviously going to say that they do not want to continue wearing braces. This is a manuplating question that take advantage of a 15 yrs teenager's understandable desire to be done with braces in order to make the situation easier for himself instead of taking responsibility for completing the treatment properly. I asked him several times to use the bite paper to check the four large gaps on both sides and the front teeth. His response was, "I can do it only to make you happy."I told him, "I don't need you to do anything just to make me happy. I need you to do the right thing and do your job correctly. "Throughout the conversation, he continued pushing the responsibility onto my daughter by repeatedly asking whether she was happy with the result. He then asked me to leave.I told him, "You are asking a 15-year-old teenage girl to make this decision, while asking her mother, who is the adult responsible for her care, to leave?" My daughter cried because she felt pressured by the doctor asking her to say that she was happy with his work.We never asked the doctor for a refund. The only thing we asked was for him to complete the orthodontic treatment properly instead of rushing us and asking us to accept the current problems- the four teeth with noticeable gaps, the upper teeth appearing tilted toward one side, and the fact that the original underbite now appears to have turned into buckteeth.I understand that a large percentage of an orthodontist's patients are children and teenagers. I do not believe this is the right way for an adult professional to communicate with teenage patients or to put pressure on them through carefully designed questions when there is a disagreement the treatment result.

After college, my bottom retainer broke and my childhood orthodontist said I didn't need to replace it. Wrong. As an adult, my bottom teeth shifted and I had to get braces with Dr. Salome. I was referred to Dr. Salome by Dr. Cole and Dr. Naranjo. I got only bottom braces for six months with Dr. Salome while I was pregnant. I had my braces removed one month before delivery. While I was in the hospital for six nights, my bottom teeth completely shifted due to delivery and hormones! The ligaments were loose. Dr. Salome straightened them out again without additional charge using only retainers, not invisalign. He explained retainers are essentially the same thing as invisalign. He even gave me two free tubes of whitening gel for my retainers. I would trust Dr. Salome or his business partner if my son ever needs braces, hopefully not three times.

First, let me start off by saying I don't typically like going to the dentist...Well no one really does ;) I moved to Austin in 2010 and never went to the dentist for a few years ( I know that is bad but I haven't had much luck finding good physicians here in Austin) So, one of my teeth had broken and I now NEEDED to find a dentist! I spoke to my co-worker about who her dentist was and she recommended StarLight Dental! I'm not going to lie, I was super nervous when I went in to get my broken tooth repaired. As soon as I met Dr. Cody and Dr. Kip my anxiety started to go down... they both are so incredibly welcoming and very nice. They were extremely understanding that I was nerved up and offered me sunglasses for that crazy bright light that you have to look in to when they lean you back, as well as, they offered me a blanket! I loved it! Very understanding when they started my Root Canal that I was nerved up and they explained everything they were doing so I knew what to expect. So incredibly professional, kind, understanding, patient, quick, empathetic, welcoming, pleasurable, great bed-side manner AND all three doctors remember things I have told them from previous visits and ask me about it on the next visit! TOO COOL! I don't feel like I can't ask them questions; they are so wonderful! I love all three Dentists: Dr. Bob, Dr. Kip and Dr. Cody--All are truly AMAZING at what they do! The Doctors/ Dentists aside, the Dental Hygienist, Nicole, is AWESOME as well! She has cleaned my teeth every time I have gone in for cleanings and let me say she is light to the touch (no pain) but VERY diligent and pays attention to detail. She has good tips on flossing and how to get your toothbrush to those hard to reach places! She is very kind and super nice. All of THAT ASIDE: You have got to see the office decorations! Dr. Bob decorated the entire office by himself, he has quite the knack for it and it shows! It looks like they hired a professional interior designer! There are Stars throughout the entire office in different nooks and crannies and each room with a dental chair has a different theme to it! They are all great, my favorite is the room that looks out on the bird feeders. I want to take them all to Michigan with me! All the hygienists that I have been met with upon each teeth cleaning appointment have been so pleasant, professional and friendly to work with as I have sometimes struggled with my mouth care, but they have always had kind words and patience and the fact that my neighbor referred me to them, and has been going to them for decades now is amazing and a testament to the loyalty and service that is impeccable when speaking on a local dentist that is less than a 5 min drive from our house! Dr. Bowcutt is also extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and when receiving any information from him, I always feel like he is extra helpful and valuable in giving me practical guidance and not upselling me on things. Which is amazing! I also recently referred my husband to pop over here after he had such severe mouth/jaw pain after Thanksgiving and had to go to urgent care and turns out he had a tooth abscess. He was able to get seen immediately and they were able to accommodate him as a new patient! That's unheard of! My husband's previous dentist he chose, Buttercup Dental, down the street (which we both got confused with for half the last year thinking we had been going to the same dental office ha!) didn't seem to care/ wasn't able to make the scheduling happen until later in the week. I also was able to get my fixed retainer rebonded, in and out, and at a practical price instead of having to go to an orthodontist who would've charged ridiculous prices.
