Big loud brewery in Rosemont located in that one humongous shopping area. Crust Brewery must be kind of new because we had never heard of it before. It seems more of a place to host big banquets and private events than it is a place to come and hang out. For sure it makes sense because of the area around it. They're also known for pizza, a good food choice for big groups and parties. Come here by getting off at the Rosemont Blue Line station, and from there maybe get on a bus. It's also close enough to walk here. This is a pretty busy area though. It's also loud in here. This helps the brewery fit in with the surroundings. Lots of family friendly fun. The beer is the main thing. It's about $8 a pint. Kind of a lot, but not as much as the food though. Against The Grain is a popular one. This is an American Wheat. It's about $21 for a whole pizza. The Gardener is the one that's vegetarian. Get it vegan without cheese. This has caramelized onions, mushrooms, pepperoncini, and roasted peppers. Good pizza but not worth quite so much. The pizza also isn't that big it seems. Has a lot for big groups. It's a good place for these because it's big and loud. Came here on a Saturday night. They do take reservations however, we did not make any so we were prepared to wait. We arrived and were told they were on a 45 min wait even though there were many tables open. (I figured they might have been short staffed) explained we were open to sitting inside or outside, party of 3. Headed to the bar to get drinks and sit outside at the picnic tables that are open to only TOGO ordering. We waited the 45 min and never got a call. We went in and checked on wait, were sat right away by manager. Manager scolded the employees at the front as they were not keeping track of the waitlist. This was our first visit there so that was disappointing as people were walking in after us and getting sat right away with no wait time. Anywho, we enjoyed our pizzas. The beers were decent and had a lot to select from. Server was friendly and attentive. I'd probably come back again but make reservations to avoid the frustration we experienced with the hostesses. First time eating here for lunch with a couple of friends. Walking in and sitting down service was great and quick. We ordered the empanadas appetizer, really good! Entrees ordered- the burger was really good and the salads were a hefty serving. The service up to this point was okay and then suddenly went south. They weren't super busy so not sure why our waiter took a really long time to come by. Getting the check took forever, taking the payment from our also took forever we had to ask the hostess to get our waiter. My experience at Crust was bizarre. We were seated at 5:30. No one came to wait on us despite trying to waive people down. At 5:45, we asked the hostess for help and she said she would get someone. At 6 we tried asked a staff member for help and he said "not now." We approached the hostess again. At around 6:10, we got a waitress who apologized--I honestly do not think it was her fault and that she was covering for someone else. We would have left but we had tickets to the Rosemont Theater at 8 and so we were pretty much a captive audience. We ordered drinks, never got any refills on those or the waters. The food was pretty slow to come out. I will say that the fries, pizza and dessert were all pretty good. The cinnamon roll dessert is only $13 and was enough to feed 6 (although ordered for 1 person). We would have loved to have taken some of the food with us, but we could not get anyone to bring us boxes. This whole process or seating, ordering one drink and food, paying and NOT getting a doggy bag took 2 hours and 10 minutes. But the guys who brought the food just threw the plates of food in front of you like they didn't care. The food, in a nutshell, was simply bad. We ordered "The Sage" pizza. First off, we didn't taste sage at all - even though the description said there was something special about it. The pizza looked like a take-home oven pizza. But a take-home oven pizza actually has flavor and tastes better. The crust is supposed to be charred with flavor. But it wasn't. Just bad and bland. It was a waste of $90. I had high hopes for this pizza but it was very very forgettable. Another person in my party ordered their $25-26 Buffalo Mac n Cheese. The sauce was very bland without flavor. Then they threw some Buffalo chicken nuggets on top of it. If it was around $10-13, you might think it was ok. But for $26? It was pretty bad. Someone else ordered the wings and they were good. We had questions and there was a lot of back and forth to the kitchen to get answers. They brew their own beer. I had a pint of there Pacific Lager & it was nice and malty and overall very tasty. I had the Carnivore sandwich, my wife had the salmon over potatoes and broccolini & the other couple we were with split a pizza. I thought the carnivore sandwich was ok. A little light on the meat but over all not bad. Wife did not like the Salmon. It was farm raised the mashed potatoes where loaded with butter and the broccolini stole the show. The other couple we were with said they enjoyed their pizza. The bill was $140 with tip and they do add on 3% for a credit card processing fee. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, but if I had a layover at Ohare or was in town for a convention it would be worth a stop in if you're looking for a lively brew pub. This is my new favorite restaurant!!! I've been here two other times , yesterday was my third. I made a reservation on Thursday for a party of 7 to celebrate mine and my friends birthdays. I pressed the 20th but it changed it to the 21st , I thought maybe I pressed the wrong day so I deleted it and changed it back to the 20th and it was set . I had a reservation for 7 at 5:00. My friends got there first and called to tell me there was no reservation under my Name . I was walking to the door and looking for the email and then noticed .. it said the 21st ?!? I started to panic bc this would definitely put a damper on our night for sure . I went it and explained what happed to the hostess and a guy walked up and asked what was wrong , I explained it to him too and he said " not to worry we will take care of of you" he spoke to the hostess and they ended up seating us in a private little room . I was amazed and we were all so happy that they went out of their way not only to make our dinner special but also understood the mess up with the reservation. I was pleasantly surprised with this rather newish pizza joint in Rosemont and I thought it would be a total tourist trap, but it actually has very good pizza. I would suggest getting the pepperoni one and swap it for fennel sausage. The fennel sausage pairs nicely with the burrata in the arugula. In the hot honey you can't go wrong. The ambience was beautiful during the holidays as they put up Christmas lights everywhere. The service was a little bit lackluster as a server did not come up to our table for quite some time and did not check on us, but it was towards the end of the night, so maybe they were tired. Crust is a good addition to the area after the loss of Hofbrau Haus. It's modern, open, and likely very fun during prime time hours. They definitely know their audience and have higher prices than others in the area. I like that they offer a flight, but the only downside is that it's all 7 or nothing. At $19 for a flight, that may be a turn off for some. Service was good and we found out they validate parking in the garage. Woo hoo! We ordered the tempura chicken which was really good. I liked the portion size considering two people were eating it. The sauces were tasty! Service was not great- took 15 minutes to get water and we had to ask twice. Took at least 30 minutes for our check and we couldn't find our server. The beer wasn't great, but that was kind of expected. My wife had a spicy margarita, it tasted like bottled mix with well tequila and some jalapeño thrown in for $15. This is not a $15 cocktail. If you're going to charge for "craft" cocktails you have to use fresh ingredients and top shelf spirits. This was the total opposite. The chips and dips was horrible. The queso was like water with no taste at all. The pizza was a total fail. Canned spinach with sausage that was hard and processed. The tuna was fresh and the nachos were light and flakey The Fig is in Pizza. It was really good. The pizza had Prosciutto, fig, arugula, Parmesan and pistachio pesto. It was a nice mix of ingredients. It was very tasty and sweet. I would order this pizza again. I ordered the Short Ribs as my entree. It was braised short ribs on top of truffle mashed potatoes. The short ribs were good but could have been better. Almost over cooked. The potatoes could have used a little more truffle. I really didn't taste that much nor smell it. Truffle is very fragrant and it was lacking in this dish. I ordered the flight...all the drinks were pretty good. I would recommend to try as these were the house beers and a nice sample of their alcohol that are brewed here. Lastly, for desert we ordered the Ameratto Almond Cake...do not skip this one...it was delicious!!! So moist, fluffy and full of deliciousness! Overall the food was good. I really enjoyed the vibe here! Went on a Sat night, sat at the bar and had a beer and the Gardener pizza. Large space at Rosemont Ent district, plenty of seating, tvs by the bar, private party areas and a DJ spinning some good music. Bartenders were friendly and you could sit by the pizza bar area and see all the pizzas being made. I'm excited to try more menu items and come back again. What a great addition to the ent area! Visit here for the first time on a weeknight but I made reservations as well just in case. However it never got full which was nice. Parking here is a little confusing as parking for this entire rosemont complex is very confusing. If you were lucky enough to find one of the open space as you were better off than getting stuck in the maze of a garage This was my first visit here in a pond coming in the ambience will truly strike you as it was very classic and quite tasteful. The hostess was also very kind to see me while I waited for the other half of my party. The server and the hostess were also very informative as I did not realize it was also restaurant week and they were very clear to explain it as well as point out the various menus The food selection across the menus is quite abundant and broad catering to a wide range of taste and preferences. I was thoroughly surprised by some of the more elevated choices like the short ribs as well as the seasonings and sauces available with some of the dishes. I must say the portions are very fair if not very generous considering the price point. Food and service was very quick which was great too. I enjoyed their actual beer flight which I would definitely do again and the drink menu was extremely vast. My only complaints about the night was at the food all tended to be a bit too salty and the dessert had no sweetness to it whatsoever but our server was nice enough to tell us that so we were expecting it.
