After 10 hour track meet where the weather alternated between pouring rain and hot sun, I needed a sweet treat pick me up. Imagine my excitement when I saw Crumbl Cookies weekly flavors and saw they had my absolute favorite cookie, the peanut butter cup cookie featuring Reeses. This has been my favorite cookie for many years so I put in a pick up order on my way home from the track meet and scooped up my cookie at around 9:30pm. It took me about five minutes after picking up the cookie to get home. I noticed cookie was missing it's iconic "puddle" of peanut butter on top and only had a small smear, but it did have the chocolate drizzle and the crumble of Reese's on top at least. However the cookie was rock hard and cold when I took it out of the box. I popped it into my toaster oven for about a minute (what I usually do) hoping to warm it up a little bit. Upon warming the cookie, I realized it was almost completely raw. I couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart. I ended up having to eat it with a fork. Inside It was raw and gooey, and not in a good way. And I want to note that this was not the kind of gooey you would expect from the peanut butter. This was undercooked goop. The peanut butter flavor was there, and that was good, but the rest of the cookie was a gross texture. I am not sure if the cookie was old or frozen, and they still served it to me, or just never properly cooked from the beginning and then left out all day, but it was disappointing. I had a pickup order here and when I came all the spots in front were taken so I had to park a little further down in front of one of the neighboring stores which isn't a big deal and not their fault. It was in 100% in clear view of Crumbl though and super close, it was as close as I could get. When the lady brought out my order she proceeded to lecture me about parking far, and told me I should have parked closer. When I told her there were clearly no closer spots and I had parked as close as I could she told me I just needed to park closer and that I made my order take longer. It was an extra 10 seconds to walk to my car from Crumbl, but apparently that is to blame for the order taking long. I ordered 6 big cookies using the kiosk then a few minutes later the cashier told me 2 of their flavors are sold out which didn't reflect on their menu screen (1st red flag). I said i just want a refund then. Cashier told me none of them cant do it (there was 3 of them) coz the manager is not there today (Saturday) and will be there tomorrow. and for me to just comeback tomorrow which is a Sunday. I asked then if i can go to the branch in chino and get my order there later same dah. Cashier said yes. I asked them how are they gonna verify it and he answered "We do it all the time." And he just gave me the print of my receipt to show them. I went to the chino branch come to find out that they cant give me my order or refund bcoz they have different owners. they told me that anyone working at a branch can issue a refund as long as they have a code. To confirm, I called the Upland branch directly, and they said that was true. However, when I asked why their cashier told me something completely different, they had no answer. I then asked when I could get my refund, and they told me not until next week because the manager wasn't in. They offered to give me my order when the manager is in i said NO coz the flavors are not gonna be the same next week which was the whole point of me asking for a refund or getting it from a different branch the same day. I mentioned that their cashier said the manager would be in tomorrow, but they said they're closed on Sundays--again, completely different information. Already frustrated, I asked again how I could get my refund. They repeated that I'd have to wait for the manager. When I told them what the Chino staff said (that anyone with the code could process it), they put me on hold and came back saying I'd get the refund within 24 hours. I asked them to confirm, and after another hold, they changed it to 3-5 business days. The inconsistency and lack of communication at this branch are unbelievable. I appreciate that they change their menu each week, but it sucks when I find a flavor I love and it falls off after Sunday. This is a great location and I have no complaints! There's plenty of parking in the adjacent lot and so many options of restaurants within walking distance. I placed an order for pick up first thing in the morning at 9am. The person who was making and handling the cookie batter came to open the door with the same gloves she was handling the food with. It really made me cringe to see that she did not change her gloves after she came to the door, turned the key to unlock the door, opened the door for me and then went back to handling the food without changing her gloves. My brother had mentioned he'd seen the same thing at a location in Fontana where the workers were touching everything with their gloves and then handling our desserts. That is just unsanitary.
