We always order online then pick up the cookies. The app clearly states what's 'out of stock/unavailable' but lately we've been picking cookies that show to be available, then when we get there, they were never available and substituted for something without even asking. When I ask what happened the only answer I get is 'we're out of cookies'. They claim the orders aren't made until we get there - I've been coming to this crumble for years and this has never been an issue. It came across to me that cookies aren't being made/restocked at the rate they need to be. Another situation happened a few weeks prior, we ordered cookies to be delivered by crumble for my daughter's birthday, we ordered 12 pink frosted cookies. Attached is what arrived, smeared together and black - my daughter hates chocolate and this is what she got for her birthday. When I called that night they said the same thing - they ran out and substituted on their own. The guy working said he would refund my whole order and never did, it was $125! I've now emailed the store with no response and also called to talk to the supervisor, was told they are rarely there and when I asked for the supervisors name, they said 'I can give out that information'. Bottom line - the customer service at this location has been very poor as of late and we won't be returning until things improve. Seems like the employment there has gone down hill and is bringing the quality of this location down. I would still like to be refunded as well. read more

I placed an order for 6 cookies to be picked up at 9:45 a.m. at the Costa Mesa location this morning, and it was a very disappointing experience. When I arrived, my order wasn't ready. I was told I would need to come back in 30 minutes. I don't live near the area, so that simply wasn't an option. What makes this even more upsetting is that today is a special day for our family -- my son is leaving for a year-long tour, and he specifically wanted Crumbl cookies before he left. Instead, we left with nothing. I'm also frustrated that I was never contacted to let me know my order wouldn't be ready on time. A quick call or text would have saved me the drive and the hassle. On top of that, the store itself was very messy and didn't appear well maintained, which only added to the overall poor experience. When I asked for a refund, I was told they couldn't process it because I used a gift card and that I would need to contact corporate instead. Ultra gourmet huge cookies, although very expensive. They are presented very nicely in a pink box which is great for gifting to somebody on a special occasion. They have a constantly changing menu. I loved the mystery cookie of the week, they called the Classic Pink Sugar cookie, which was almond flavored with pink icing on top. It's only available Monday to Wednesday, which I guess is their way of getting more customers to come in on the slow days. My next favorite was the Nilla Bean Cupcake cookie which was just your standard sugar cookie with vanilla icing on top, but it was great! The Milk Chocolate Chip was good. My daughter and I needed a little pick me up so ordered these cookies for delivery. Box came on time and as ordered. Cookies were still warm when they arrived. We loved all of the cookies but our favorite was the blueberry. Tasted like a blueberry pancake in cookie form. We also really liked the cornbread cookie. There's a Crumbl right across the street from where I live with a Starbucks several doors down and I've never tried them. But when you're in Costa Mesa, why the hell not?? Cookies cookies cookies, freaking butter plus chewy flavor-- bill me a saddle and slap me like Silly Sally. Crumbl does a great job dressing up their cookies for talent shows and college presentations but leaves little room for the actual crumbling. Surprisingly even with the caked on icing, one as thick as their frisbee filled biscuit of a cookie, it's not deafeningly sweet. But the cookies are fully loaded and heavy like you're carrying three dictionaries stuffed into one lengthy book. I mean, talk about frisbees you can choke on and die a moderately happy cadaver. The new flavor- milk & chocolate (or maybe it was milk & cookies) though.. is way more fudgy than cakey. But they do have their ordering process pretty staff-free. If you're hip enough it'll be a questionless process otherwise suffer like the rest of us and actually learn how not to be stupid. Lastly-- love the open kitchen. Good cookies! Some flavors are hits and some are misses. But overall, solid cookies! What you enjoy will also depend on your personal preferences. I personally love chocolatey flavors and my ultimate bias is a chocolate chip cookie. Crumbl has a wonderful chocolate chip cookie! The cookie batter itself has a nice, developed flavor (which is almost nutty....which means they probably rest their cookie dough. Hooray!) and there are chocolate chips galore! I also enjoyed the rocky road flavor and the peanut butter cookie. The cookie that really caught me off guard was the lemon cheesecake cookie. Great flavor that is lighter and more refreshing than a chocolate cookie! As the toppings get a bit more creative, the cookie texture itself becomes more of a hybrid cookie/cake as it needs to be able to stand up to the heaviness of the topping. I don't find this to be a problem but know that some of the cookies tend to teeter on the edge of being a cookie/cake instead of a cookie. Also the cookies are HUGE! They are great for splitting. This Crumbl is a newish location that recently opened in the shopping center with Shunka by the Jack in the Box off 17th street. When you enter, you order yourself at the kiosk. Then you wait about 10 minutes and they call your name (which you enter in the self serve machine) and then you get your cookies in a pretty and sturdy pink box. Not sure why the wait is so long when they don't even heat up your cookies if you order an assortment of cold and "warm". Cookies are huge but also very expensive at $5 each (used to be $4.50 - not sure if they have variable pricing or they just raised the price...). The best value is a 4 pack box for $16.25 which makes the cookies about $4.06 instead of $5. My family of 4 orders the 4 pack box and then cuts each cookie into 4 pieces so we each get a piece of each flavor of cookie and then trade with each other if there's ones we like more or less after taking a bite (since even after cutting the cookie into fourths, it's so big that each 1/4 piece is still a few bites). The most interesting thing about Crumbl is that they change their flavors every week. This time we tried: 1) Caramel Pumpkin (this was our favorite!) "A perfect fall treat including a rich pumpkin cookie, smooth caramel cream cheese frosting, and a delightful sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice" 2) Raspberry Butter Cake (our second favorite) "A melt-in-your-mouth butter cake cookie rippled with raspberry flavor then smothered with a buttery glaze, a creamy white buttercream, and our delicious house-made raspberry jam." 3) Peanut Butter Creme (good if you like peanut butter - nutter butter isn't my favorite but the cookie was still tasty) "For the peanut butter lovers--an explosion of Nutter Butter goodness all brought together with a crunchy Nutter Butter peanut buttercream." 4) Lemon Glaze (I thought this would be my favorite because I LOVE lemon but it was actually my least favorite since it was kind of bland) "Lovely layers of luscious lemon from the cookie, to the glaze, to a fresh lemon slice." We passed on the Milk Chocolate Chip since we've had it before and it's super boring/basic and horrible value to pay $5 for a boring chocolate chip cookie that's nothing special. We also passed on the Classic Pink Sugar Cookie because we've also had that one before and it tasted horrible like chemicals. Apparently they updated the recipe though because other people must have felt the same way I do that it tasted horrible and now it contains real almond extract making it an almond frosting (so be careful those of you with nut allergies!) and it's also not the yummy sugar cookie powdered sugar icing I expected. Hard pass. The Caramel Pumpkin cookie was really outstanding so I'd come back for that but I still think Dough & Arrow is the superior cookie store in Orange County. read more

For cookie options they had chocolate chip, mystery peanut butter, toffee chocolate cake, lemon cupcake, strawberry pop-tart, & brownie fudge! I got their 4 cookie pack which was $16 before tip! They had my order ready in about 2 minutes! Cookies ordered: Original Strawberry Pop tart Mystery Peanut Butter Lemon Cupcake I'm saving most of them for my friends but I ate the chocolate chip cookie and it was delicious! It was soft and warm in the middle while being a bit crispy on the outside! Plenty of melty chocolate chips on the inside and lots of butter! A very decadent treat! Not sure how I feel about this place yet. Was having a sugar craving so decided to stop by and get a few cookies and ice cream. Cookies 4/5. They are good but a tad too sweet for me. This is what I love about Asian desserts and bakeries. Their stuff is not overloaded with sugar. Western desserts tend to be too sweet. Nevertheless the two cookies I got were delicious. First I got the Oreo. Definitely a heavy calorie rich cookie. It's a cold cookie and the cream inside was on point. Also got the Animal Cracker cookie. Again a tad too sweet for me but still good. The cookie itself was solid just the cream on top was a little too sweet. Ice Cream 3/5. I thought their ice cream was just meh. I've had better at After's and even Trader Joe's. You can find out what's they're serving that week by either calling in or checking their website. But my overall experience with Crumbl is so-so. I just believe they are overly sweet for my taste buds and I have to say, I do have a bit of a sweet tooth myself, but even I think these cookies are an overkill. For about $3.50 for a cookie, the size is worth it, and you can definitely share this with a friend or two because it's definitely an abnormal size for a cookie. Try to pair it with some ice cream or milk to tone down the sweetness. Some people may enjoy the taste but I feel like I would be satisfied with 1/5 size of the cookie. You can order ahead of time or place your order on a tablet at the store. You do have the option to select some cookies to served hot from the oven, but it's only a limited selection.
