It's very hard these days to find an automotive service business focused on one brand, let alone one specific vehicle within the brand! Well, as it's name suggests, Cruiser Solutions is focused on Toyota's legendary Land Cruiser. They offer routine maintenance right up to full restorations (40 & 60 Series seems to be their forte, but 80's are soon to follow).
I recently acquired my 2003 Land Cruiser and wanted their opinion on how to approach the surface rust on the undercarriage. I'm not looking to restore my vehicle as it's still only 11 years old lol, but I would like to preserve this vehicle for the next 15 years! Matt and Ted were kind enough to put my LC on the lift and go over all the typical trouble spots. Fortunately, my rig lived in California for most of it's life, but 3 years along the New England coast has started to work it's magic. Matt said it's a very clean platform to start with and now's a good time to preserve the chassis from mother nature. Their approach is to use air tools to remove as much of the surface rust as possible, then paint, and finish with a wax sealant to create a barrier for future rust. It's not a cheap solution when you compare to someone who will spray fluid film on everything for $129, but I think it's the right solution for the best long term care.
While the truck was on the lift, I mentioned a clunk coming from the driveshaft and they lubed the U joints while it was up in the air. I totally intended to pay them for this service and they said no charge! This is the kind of business I'd like to keep around.
I have never written a review on Yelp before, but as they had no reviews, I thought they deserved one. And a good one at that. read more
