This restaurant, situated in a pedestrian-only zone conducive to walking and cycling. Super impressed with its immediate seating upon our arrival. The establishment offers a stunning bayside view. Our service was great, with our waiter providing detailed information about the preparation of our meal. The nautical-themed decor complemented the bar-style setup, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating areas, though we opted for inside seating despite the crowd and noticeable noise level. We particularly enjoyed the smoked fish and lobster roll. Notably, upon receiving the check, we appreciated that gratuity had already been included, simplifying the tipping process. Overall a great lunch.

After walking around Nantucket for the day, we were in the mood for light drinking some oysters. We came here for a glass of wine and really enjoyed the outdoor seating. They had a couple of different options as far as oysters go and they all were really good. If you were looking for ambience and good service, this is a great place.

Nothing more than a glorified tourist trap at this point. Decent oyster selection and of course a great view, but these are sullied by the rude hostesses, disengaged waitstaff, obscenely loud music during daylight (this isn't Mykonos get a grip), and watered down drinks. Don't waste your time here, plenty of better dining experiences even just a stone's throw away.

Amazing raw bar - loved the oysters and the raw clams (I much preferred the littleneck over the cherry but both were great). We also got lobster Cobb salads which were pretty average and a side of fries with Calabrian chili which were pretty good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but we opted for outdoor, which was much calmer and quieter (the inside was pretty rowdy). Walked in as a party of 2 for lunch on a summer Thursday around 12:15pm without a reservation but were seated right away (there was plenty of outdoor seating available - less so for indoors). The Aperol spritz wasn't bad but not my favorite. Overall, not bad!

This was my favorite restaurant in all of New England. Great service at the bar. The bartender easily modified drinks to my liking. Cru is located right on the water with amazing views. The menu has a wide variety of options. I went with the crudo of the day. Salmon topped with caviar. 10/10. Drinks are amazing. I got the melon cocktail with mezcal.

Amazing! Rough start Memorial Monday as 7 hour delay caused us to miss lunch reservation. Front desk accommodated us for dinner with window seat. Focaccia &whipped ricotta, raw clams, lobster bake & stacked potatoes, CRUcumber cocktail. Our server was awesome & I forgot his name! Excellent service & food. Perfect mix of attention without being pushy. Beautiful room and view for our 1st night.

My sister and I took a sister trip to Nantucket, we did a lot of research before hand on places to eat and we couldn't get into CRU. We were walking around that day and said let's stop by right when they open and see how long the wait is...we both wanted to eat here because we heard great things about the lobster roll! We check in and only had to wait 15 minutes to get seated right by all the boats and water! We had such a great lunch with beautiful views! Their lobster roll we would put in our Top 3 favorite while visiting the East Coast. It was also my first time to try an oyster and WOW! I can't stop eating them now. We can't wait to go back!

And I'd do it againnnnnb.

And I'd do it again plus the crucumber martini x2. Clam chowder is the best my partner has ever had - not pictured

CRU. I what more can one say? Truly the best seafood in Town, and perhaps the best raw bar on the island. Always a welcoming friend, at the end harbor-end of Straight Wharf if you take the Hyline boat. We were on Island the 22nd of November, and the outdoors furniture was stored inside CRU; we felt sad. Then we were on Island the weekend after Stroll, and saw that there were plywood boards on the windows for winter; I wept. Always a sad scene. Just like the lack of boats, yachts or activity in the Basin. Again, the best raw bar in the island. Best service. Best prices. Fresh, big, and a wide selection of oysters, clams, cherry stones, and shrimp. A wonderful lobster salad appetizer that is to die for! Even better lobster roll. Ice cold draft Cisco too! During the season, they add in the tip for you - so be aware. No negatives whatsoever ever.

Was there for late lunch. Limited menu (1/2 the menu is alcohol). Food and service were average - not worth the cost or 45 minute wait.

Ask the Community - CRU

Are they open 7 days a week in season?

Probably open 6 days. Not sure about everyday. A hot spot indeed. Easier to get seated as a walk-in after 9p.

Sat at the bar last time I was here, Kevin the bartender was the best! Amazing cocktails, great…read moreservice, great conversation, and the food was delicious. I recommend the rangoon, dumplings, tuna crispy rice, and the wok fried lobster. After the Gold Rush cocktail was great.

We joined the waitlist for a table on Resy, where it said the latest quoted wait time was 15…read moreminutes (it's off season). We checked in on arrival 10 minutes later, and we were kindly informed our table should be ready in another 15 minutes or so, and asked our preference of having them find us at the bar or getting a text when the table was ready. We opted to wait outside, the text never came, and after politely waiting 30 minutes before checking back on our table, we encountered a different person at the hostess stand who unapologetically told us they had no tables for the night. I politely told her we were already on the list and asked if she could double check because our table was supposed to be ready. She VERY unapologetically said they could seat us in 2 hours. This is after we had already waited an hour - on a 15 minute wait list. This is the only negative or even remotely rude experience we've ever had on island. And while I really don't like leaving bad reviews, the way this was handled was not ok - hopefully bringing this to light helps the restaurant fix their broken system and/or saves someone else the hassle.

ANOTHER FANTASTIC VISIT TO STRAIGHT WHARF RESTAURANT (bar grill side of course). We had the…read morecrostini for an appetizer and it was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. On the flip side, we did not enjoy the SWR popcorn. It was rather wet and made for a weird gastronomic experience. But the crostini was just so so good that I am overlooking the popcorn. For my main, I had the salmon which was very delicious. Whatever magical sauces they serve it on were so good, and the salmon so tender, and the cranberries a great addition to the flavor profile- I was wowed! My boyfriend had the eggplant pasta and he really loved that. My visit this time was definitely a lot more quiet than when I went in the summer. Less people, music not as loud but audible. Overall, quite nice for a date night! I can't wait to come back... hopefully before the season ends!

Straight Wharf is staying its course. My most recent visit was solid, but I don't necessarily…read morethinks warrants 5 stars. The $90 prix fixe includes an app and an entree - pricey. The Buffalo fried fish app the waitress recommended wasn't my favorite and doesn't seem to be a dish that should be on the menu. It def felt like TGIFridays met Nantucket but not in a good way. Literally a deep fried block of fish smothered in buffalo sauce served on like a whipped blue cheese spread. Honestly, I think it was trying to elevate Buffalo when Buffalo can't be elevated. The fish entree I had was fine. Nothing out of this world. Actually quite unmemorable. Overall, $90 for 2 dishes that were fine, the app being even on a don't order suggestion, is a little jarring. Service and ambiance was great. I love the comp bread and little dip amuse bouche. Overall, fine. I think I ordered wrong, but I do think there are some better value and more exciting food happening at other places.
