You either lower your prices or improve the overall quality of your business. I ordered 2 hours ago and am just now getting my food and to my "surprise" the food is cold. I tried calling the restaurant to request a refund and the manager didn't seem at all apologetic that my food was late and bad! These are 2 medium-well burgers, truly it can't be in compliance with food and safety guidelines to consume this mess? His response was "the driver called you and you didn't answer" yet I have ZERO MISSED CALLS since I placed my order. I spoke to the driver when he said he was out front, unfortunately he was in front of a building 2 blocks down. Now if you have any sense of direction, you know that it doesn't take 25 minutes to travel 2 blocks in the Bronx at 1AM and in the event that it does communication is key!It took ANOTHER 25 minutes for my food to arrive. We ordered a western bbq burger deluxe and chicken w/ waffles....Took ages to get here just to be so bad!! The burger made his stomach hurt after eating it...and the presentation was not good...asked for the burger well done and it did come well done on the outside but red in the center....they also forgot his fries! My chicken and waffles were not good at all....the waffle was very soggy and cold...the chicken was not quality!! The chicken was like that cheap bag of chicken you buy from the supermarket that has more breading than meat and it tasted disgusting...has me feeling nauseated and unsatisfied!!! In summary the food is definitely not worth the money at all and if you wanna keep customers I suggest maybe getting new chef's that can follow orders and also get quality products to cook!! I read some very good reviews on this Diner and even saw it on news 12 so I finally decided to try it out . Me and my boyfriend went here on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm for late breakfast/ brunch we were seated right away which was a plus ! I ordered French toast with bacon, home fries , and eggs with cheddar cheese my boyfriend had the same thing but instead of French toast he had pancakes . Overall the food was great and really big portions definitely couldn't finish it all . I had a cappuccino in my opinion wasn't so great but overall the food was great and the service was excellent . I've been coming to crosstown for many years. I considered it to be one of the best diners in the Bronx. Definitely not anymore. The past few times I've been here, the food hasn't been up to par., the service got slower while the prices for higher. The quality of the food has gone down with each visit. Still, each time I still came back. My last visit here, Saturday August 15 around 1230/1am. I came in with my two cousins who were leaving for Canada in the morning, my brother and my girlfriend. We were all quickly seated, had ordered our food and waited in excitement as we were all a bit hungry. One of my cousins ended up getting a chicken wrap. Don't remember which one exactly but she took two bites and put it down and just nibbled on her fries. I tried her wrap as her food arrived before ours. And it was overcooked. And whatever sauce they put in it left a horrible taste in your mouth. She was no longer hungry. Plate set aside. We sent it back. The rest of our food arrived. My brother ordered loaded waffle fries. They came out looking sloppy and they were literally missing half the toppings. I had a burger which I asked medium was burnt to a crisp and my bun was stale. They tried to argue this fact but I know the difference between stale and toasted.. I sent it back My gf's dish was a whole different story. She ordered cheese ravioli. However, what she got was so far from it. I had a bite after she complained and it was chewy and rubbery like, I had to spit it out. This was not cheese and had a fishy smell. We immediately called over our waiter to find out what it was as she has a shellfish allergy. Now, I get sometimes dining places make mistakes but to have 4 mistakes is quite major. The manager came out and as I was trying to explain she has a food allergy while trying to figure out what this was, he constantly continued to cut me off and proceed to hand me "extra guac and sour cream and salsa for the fries" with some "napkins on the side". Not for a single moment, did he once care to find out what it was or have any concern of her allergy. After arguing for about 3min with me throwing sides of guac on my damn table, he finally walked away and two waiters passed by and I heard one day that definitely isn't cheese. I was so disgusted in the food and with the manager, I just wanted to leave at this point. Everybody in my party was upset. We got the check and paid for my brother's meal who didn't complain I'm assuming 'cause he's young and these kids eat anything. And for the fries. I am rather upset we were charged for these fries we hardly touched but whatever. We left still starving and disappointed as my girlfriend was throwing up in your parking lot. A true old school diner where there's plenty of food for a very low cost, you don't find this experience nowhere else. Dessert are delicious with a great variety. This place was a total disappointment. They're lucky I can't give them ZERO stars!!! I made 5 orders for breakfast and the order WAS 2hours late. They packed it in a nice bag and it was for nothing because the food was cold. The lemonade was watery, i asked for a medium Orange juice and they gave it to me in a coffee cup. I have been an avid and loyal customer since 2008. I never really came here for lunch or dinner but I frequent coming here for breakfast... I love it! I can't suggest any other food (besides their breakfast menu)but I just like the way they make breakfast and the coffee every time I come is freshly made. As far as service my servers have always been quick, attentive and pleasant... it's a diner not a 5 star luxury restaurant and yes the servers seem to disappear when you want to pay but cmon it's not a deal breaker... (you can easily go up to the cashier to ask for your bill and pay) This is still one of the authentic Greek owned and run diners I know and i think that's pretty awesome. It's rare nowadays to find a place like this when everyone is trying to do fusion complicated menus... sometimes simplicity is key. Price is reasonable and the place is clean, don't expect plush fancy seats, this is a diner and has that feel. So if you're picky and are inclined to criticize every thing then go to an over priced place in Manhattan. I ordered off of Seamless and that was about the only thing right about the experience. Seamless got it there earlier than the expected him. Let's start with the burger. The burgers are overpriced and come with no sides like fries etc. They came in a small container. The meat was 10000% not fresh meat. It was a typical frozen beef patty and looked like Shoprite brand. They were completely tasteless and bland. The roll was the strangest roll ever. Underneath the top of the bun was just white and did not look like bread at all. I can't even explain it because it was so strange. This was a hard review to write as I've been in this neighborhood for most of my life and I have been to Crosstown diner numerous of times. Most of my memories of the food has been good and very enjoyable experiences. But, there has been a steady and slow decline of what I remember Crosstown used to be. Crosstown is a great if you are looking for a decent option in the middle of the night. However we ordered Cajun chicken and they simply doused grilled chicken with chili powder. I was not pleased. In addition they were also slightly late with the order. Not a big deal, but I was really looking forward to that Cajun chicken Update July 2020: I had a bad experience previously but this diner has been fantastic every other time I have been there. We used Crosstown Diner to cater my mother's 75th birthday brunch at her home and we couldn't be happier with the service and food that was provided!! Initially, my sister looked into other restaurants in the neighborhood that offer catering, but they had a 30 person minimum and the prices were too high. The gathering we had was for 10 people. I then looked online and found that the Crosstown offered catering and the breakfast options only had a 7 person minimum with much better prices. This was a surprise brunch- which the Crosstown was aware of- and the delivery driver arrived at the exact time requested- 15 minutes after we got my mom out of the house and 15 minutes before our guests arrived. They provided everything that was ordered (hot breakfast, continental breakfast, coffee/tea, fruit) and more- throwing in huge black and white cookies and muffins. The food was great and the guests were very happy- all were able to take food home with them!! Our waiter was Louann C worst server i have come across , she was not friendly , her adittude was if it annoyed her to serve my spouse and me. It was my first time here. I will never return or recommend this location ever!! The buser working on 10/22 @10:45 am was a better help and provided excellent service. He should be a waiter. Mayb get younger servers in age instead of someone whos a senior . Louann was cranky rude and nasty !!! If you get her as a server i recommend to ask for someone else.
