The turkey burger was edible, they have really nice yucca fries, and choice of waffle fries, sweet potato fries or regular fries too, also came with coleslaw, pickle and lettuce/tomato. They have Mexican options on the menu. Lackluster service but not terrible. The bathroom was clean. I think this has been here for decades. I would not come for the coffee but if I just wanted a burger and fries or breakfast it's ok. Not really wheelchair accessible due to narrow aisle but no stairs involved. read more

So Upset right now!!! All I wanted was the coffee! But the place has a $10 minimum! so I ordered a juice and a corn muffin. It came out to almost $20, the delivery and the taxes. they did not send the COFFEE!!!! I want to die. I called them back the girl was very apologetic; she assured me she would send the coffee. That was at 10am. Now at 11:15 I call back and they say they can't send the coffee because it is too far!! WTF?? Never again. These people are very irresponsible and have no customer service. I've been going here for over 30 years. George and his wife are sweethearts. We always enjoy having breakfast every Sunday when we were young. But my family and I will not be going there anymore. The day of my sister's wedding (9/18/18), we decided to have breakfast. We are enjoying our time when we asked for a refill for our coffee. The older lady with the long hair was so nasty to my mom and said it's our third time getting coffee. I thought coffee was free refill. Other establishments would keep pouring until we are satisfied. She eventually poured the coffee with the nastiest attitude. I love this place but the service has gone down. My mom is too disgusted to go back. George needs to talk to her about treating customers better. read more

This is my favorite diner in the area and I am a regular visitor because they never let me down with their food! The service is usually pretty good whenever I visit so I don't have any complaints and if they ever mess up my order, its never an issue for them to correct it. This diner gives me a nostalgic feeling anytime I visit because it reminds me of an historic restaurant. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the early closing time but I suppose its to compensate for them opening so early. read more

Now I noticed their coffee is not hot, not fresh ( I got their coffee today at 10 AM), I was disappointed. This place has disintegrated, when the other owners managed this coffee shop., food and coffee was good, now its not . Typical lunch spot. The place is small and was packed when I decided on lunch around 12pm. Of course, that's a good thing. I sat in the back and put the menu by the edge of the table to show I was ready to order. Apparently, no one saw that. I waited a good 10 minutes while one waitress had a customer adjust what it looked like a heart monitor she had attached to her waist(?!) while the other one just waited on tables. Anyway, the food was good. Bacon nice and crispy. It's a spot I won't be going out of my way to go to again. Oh well. read more

My little family is here almost every Sunday for breakfast. It is your neighborhood diner--filled with friendly faces and great food. We first started coming when we moved to the area about 9 months ago. The owner is very sweet and the ladies working here make you feel like family. Sometimes there is a short wait especially on the weekends but they make sure you are acknowledged right away. The food comes out quick and rarely disappoints. Their waffle is awesome as well as the French toast. My son can be a handful when we go but the staff truly goes out of their way to help in any way that they can. Horrible customer service , check your food delivery orders because they frequently mess up . They only take cash when doing delivery orders which is another inconvenience, food needs more flavor super dry and dull, by the time it gets to your door it's all messy , front of the house staff and manager not accommodating at all and very disrespectful. There is probably only 1 girl who is nice and coffee is ( ok ) there goes the 1 star. Great diner. I work a block up from this place and we usually order breakfast and lunch from this place. I love all their breakfasts and I'm a big fan of the New York Wrap with turkey (and a salad instead of the fries!!) The waitresses make this place so much more enjoyable. They are all awesome ladies and we enjoy going to pick up our food and getting in a few minutes of conversation with whoever is on shift. One star off because they close around 5pm -- which is pretty early since most diners are 24/7... But they're always insanely busy when they are open so I can't blame them for wanting to take a break.... but I would have loved to come here for late night munchies! read more

My weekend breakfasts, whether table service or home delivery, come from Lydig Coffee House. Great portions, fresh food, extensive menu, AMAZING service, the owner is such a sweetheart, our district's local rep comes around some weekends and shakes hands with everyone, gives out candy canes at Xmas, such a family joint *where everybody knows your name*, just love this place. They really know how to take care of their people. Warning: They close super early, like before 5, so this is the spot for an early bird special - but, they also open super early, probably even early enough for a 4am burger after a night out on the town. Doesn't get better than Lydig Coffee House. One more thing, if you're driving, you better display that muni-meter receipt because the metermaids here are like vultures!! read more

You know how when you come across a new place and you just fall in love with it at first sight? Well this is what happened to me when I first came to Lydig Coffee House. I've since returned many times more and haven't been disappointed. The coffee is great, the food is delicious (and a great variety, too!!), and the people are so nice! The best thing is the cool local-diner vibe you get here. The customers are all regulars. A disadvantage I can point out is that if you get take out sometimes the food is a little too moist by the time you get home... Also I don't recommend coming here by car - the parking is outrageously pricey. read more

Wierd little shop. Everyone seems so engrossed in their own little world that they don't even notice people walking in and sitting at the counter. Coffee is good at least. Just dont speak spanish around the manager because she will make it a point to call you out ( an indignant manner) and tell you she doesn't speak Spanish but wants to understanding what's being said around her. Ironic because the entire kitchen staff and waitresses are all Hispanic and barely speak English. I feel for the employees there. Lydig Coffee House is a great diner, hands down. Its small, which I like. They can see you, no hiding wait staff. They serve typical diner fare, but the 3 waitress were supper friendmy. Our server brought my 2 yr old crackers and milk , on her own, so she wouldn't get fussy as we waited for our food! The other diner I used to patronzie was Rainbow Diner (see my review) what Lydig has that Rainbow doesn't is clean atbles. Rainbow is very grimy. If your fork hits the table in Lydig you don't order a new one, not so in $ainbow. Rainbow is 24 hours, and for a midnight pancake eater that goes a long way. Lydig coffee house is a wonderful place to go when you want a hot meal, and some good conversation. Servers are very attentive, prices were very good. Lunch w/ ices coffees fpr 2 + a 2 yr old was 22.00 ( w/o tip) clean bathrooms. I don't go as much as I,d like tol but glad to know they are there. read more

Came here hoping to fill our tummies. It's a small diner. Most of the customers look like they live in the neighborhood which I took as a good sign. We ordered our food and it was quick. Not impressed with all the grease. You can push a fork down on the potatoes and grease would ooze out. It would've ok if it was a hashbrown.. but this was mash potato. What's worse, there was a water bug about a size of a thumb crawling on the floor from one booth to another. We told the waitress but she didn't catch it in time. The waterbug crawled behind our neighbors booth. We quickly paid and got outta there before the waterbug comes to our booth. Ugh read more

I used to come here at least once a week back when I lived in the neighborhood. It's a great diner, always packed in the morning, and the waitresses are some of the friendliest around. I have yet to find a restaurant anywhere else in the city that makes a better turkey club sandwich. My lone complaint-- and it's a minor one-- is that it's not open later for dinner. read more
