I love this store and I have never had a problem with them. They are always busy and the food it hot and tasty.

Just understand the whole point is how good the product is. Don't expect friendliness. And they don't like to answer questions because they have trouble with language. And it's your fault not theirs. Keep that in mind and enjoy the espresso and cappuccino. read more

It's a small neighborhood cafe. I was sad to see that there were no more pastries served here anymore. I was told due to covid and how slow business had been they had to cut back costs. The cappuccino was definitely as good as others have raved about. This little cafe is kind of tucked in between these other places--sort of easy to miss. I stopped by for a bit, and it is clear that there is a dedicated local following in the neighborhood for this place. To be honest, I didn't personally experience the on point service that others have been describing. The 4 stars is strictly for the capp itself because I acknowledge it was that good--but not so sure I'd go out of my way to come back because I felt the vibe to be off during my short stay there, which is unfortunate because the espresso is really that good. read more

1 great capuchino at $3.50 in the middle of nowhere Morris Park. Conflicted because there was no menu at all available to peruse, no wall signage, no handwritten flyer. This was a bummer because I had wanted to try additional items as i made the trek there based on its reviews. Its a big shope and it seems odd that this possible revenue stream is not being tapped into. The other issue I had was with that initial reaction I got walking into the shop. There were 2 men and who I imagine is the lady shop owner speaking animated like in their native language. For truly 2 full uncomfortable mins there was no acknowledgedment, no look in my direction, not even a word of "ill be w. you right there". And that gave me the worst uncomfortable feeling of being an inconvenience, you know the one when you're like "I'm a willing paying customer that just walked in & I'm right here!". You know when it hits and you wanna bounce cuz you can always go somewhere else so they can treat you better. And I almost did, but I stuck it out and I guess I got a real good coffee. So yea, that took a while to resolve and I know there was no ill intent and the lady was ok afterwards but these two items brought down the overall 1st experience. So the stars are all for the coffee, which is a worthwhile pass by stop if you're in the area. read more

First off Anna has the best food and drinks, it's just her in that place and she does awesome for just her in that place you know it's great when all the italian guys are up bright and early for her drinks and croissant. Recommendation would be a cappuccino with cinnamon and 2 sugars or 3 i prefer 2 because i like tasting the real italian coffee. Her croissants are so good, the chocolate and créme ones are good as well as the apricot , and the fact she wakes up at 6am to get it up and running proves a lot. Starbucks could never, we drive at least an hour every other weekend for this. read more

They pour a beautiful cappuccino here. Unfortunately, I wasn't really sure how to enjoy it with all of that foam. Probably more with me being a cappuccino noob than anything else.. I did order mine with a sprinkle of cinnamon as recommended by some yelpers. It only added a hint of additional flavor, but I liked it. The cafe itself is small, with only a few tables available for patrons. I was able to grab a table because I arrived early in the morning, but I'm sure that later on in the day, it might be difficult to secure a spot. However, a lot of patrons I noticed would just enjoy their coffee along the counter while standing. I do appreciate that they are very reasonably priced. Only a few bucks per drink. All prices are as listed on the board behind the counter - no additional tax added. I believe they are cash only - I didn't see anyone else paying with a card, so I followed suit. PS. Don't make the mistake of asking for just a regular coffee (ie. drip coffee). They don't do that here. Espresso drinks only. read more

A truly unique Italian, old world style cafe' shop. Unsurpassed espresso and other drinks, from April to October they also serve various flavors of the finest gelato. My mother passed away 3 years ago and the last 4 months of her life, she survived on the hazelnut flavored. During Christmas and Easter holidays you may find some great imported panettone, other sweets and beautiful gift baskets. This is the type of Cafe' that the Starbucks of the world wish they could be. Service is fast, courteous, attentive and after served, you can relax and savor your drinks and sweets at one of the tables. Now, one would think that in the New York City area, given the gastronomic center of the universe that it is, it would be easy to get a great one. Alas, not only is it difficult, it is near impossible. Now, if your idea of a great espresso is the doppio they serve at Starbucks, then read no further for a doppio at Starbuck's is not an espresso, but a smaller version of their tall coffee. Beyond Starbucks, I have tried many a good hipster coffee shop in the city with enough bearded twenty-something coffee snobs to fill Seattle. Some of those shops have good espresso, but still, not great. Now, if you want a great espresso, that of the life-changing type, that of the "I have to fly to Rome to get an espresso this good," type, then order a single espresso from La Casa della Caffe in the Bronx. The first thing you will notice is that the portion you get is something akin to a shot. This is how it is supposed to be. The next thing you will notice is that when you pour in the sugar, it will hesitate for a number a seconds before descending through the think and rich crema layer that floats on top. This is supposed to happen, too. Finally, when you drink it, it will feel like a mini thick shake as it goes down. It will leave a taste on your tongue that you will hope stays forever. And you will not receive even a hint of bitterness. In fact, it will be velvety smooth. Yes, this is supposed to happen, too. The guy ( assuming the owner) was a major jerk the moment i stepped foot in the cafe. I asked for a menu to see the different beverages and pastries and he lashed out with an attitude that there was no menu and no food even though there was a full tray of croissants and pastries right on the counter. I brushed it off and thought maybe a miscommunication and ordered a cappuccino. As I'm waiting he tells me no dogs in the cafe. I say ok he is a service dog but ill just grab my coffee and head out we aren't staying. A neighborhood cafe that serves quality espresso with Italian charm minus the stuffiness of artisanal coffee shops. This is truly a social meeting ground for locals to have coffee together and catch up. No laptops will be seen here. My only regret is that it's not located closer to the medical school campus so that I can come here more often and more people can have the experience. Anna's skills in making espresso has been featured in the New York Times. You'll understand why once you give her wonderfully crafted espresso drinks a try. This is by far my favorite coffee shop! The owners are sweet and personable. The coffee is fantastic. And the ambiance makes you feel like your in Italy. In the morning Ana ( the store owner) makes delicious croissants. Make sure you get there before they're all gone. She makes cream and chocolate mostly. Cream is my favorite. You will find cappuccinos, espresso, macchiatos, and hot chocolate on a daily basis. When the weather gets warm you will find iced espresso and crema de cafe, (my favorite!), both are perfect refreshing summer options. In the winter this is a perfect place to get authentic coffee to warm you up and keep you going where you can either run in for a quick on the go beverage, or stay and chat. During the Summer this is a perfect place to grab a refreshing drink, chat inside or sit outside amongst the locals who are devoted and in love with La Casa del Cafe. For those who stay away from caffeine, you will find a stocked fridge with a lovely assortment of Italian nectar's , juices, sodas, and waters. Oh let me not forget, wine. Great coffee for reasonable prices. I ordered a cappuccino and it was $3 for a decent size. I noticed that a lot of people order the cappuccino topped with cinnamon, which I forgot to do. Trying to find coffee in my neck of the woods, that meets the standards of my coffee snob friend Geoff G? Near impossible. A Yelp mobile search led us to La Casa del Caffe. It's in the Morris Park neighborhood. Heavily Italian, as evidenced buy the green, white and red painted parking meters. There were some old guys sitting out front in plastic chairs, not drinking coffee btw. Is that what retired guys do? Park their seats in front of businesses they like? The owner served us. She spoke Italian accented English, and was watching an Italian game show. I started watching the game show too. I took some guesses. Got some right. Those game shows draw ya in. Anyway. She was pleasant, told us to sit after we ordered my cappuccino, and his espresso. They don't serve regular coffee. My cappuccino was good. No sugar needed. His espresso was "pretty good, it's ok". Snob. They have gelato, but there were no flavor labels, so I passed. As the 3 stars suggest, this place is A-OK. Not going out of my way though. read more

This is a great little spot in Morris Park. Anna is wonderful and so welcoming. She takes such pride in the cafe. The espresso here is great. I had a double shot with a chocolate croissant, both were amazing. The decor is full of soccer (football) memorabilia. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. I was sluggish and opened up Yelp and typed in COFFEE, tired of the watery deli stuff and no to the $$ Starbucks run. ordered a cappuccino only one size but it's the PERFECT size I couldn't even finish. Ordered a fresh cream croissant it was so flaky and delicious. Noticed someone in the reviews said they felt uncomfortable because they're Spanish. You walk in and there are the faithful customers chatting up the barista, speaking only Italian and waiting on their espresso shots. It was such a change a pace from normal that I experienced the same out of my element feeling as I did when I was in Italy. I ended up ordering a bone dry double shot cappuccino with chocolate sprinkled on top when all I went in for was a coffee and cream. It was an amazing cappuccino though. The espresso drinks are consistently great and the house coffee is good as well. It is not the most friendly place to sit down and read a paper, though there are people who do this. Ah...my favorite place in the neighborhood. Sweet lovely small Italian café in the whole neighborhood. You can hear people speak Italian in the store and it sounds so lovely....I thought I was in Italy haha. Their Gelato is excellent, smooth, enough sweet, and just melt in your mouth. Imagine on hot summer day, me and my sis come here to order 2 scoops of Gelato each and listen to all the lovely sounds. Time is stopped around here...sometimes you need this in NyC. I also had Frappuccino here, so strong I couldn't sleep that night since I had it around evening... The owner and her daughter are very lovely and sweet, just like their Gelato hehe read more

You don't come here to order American coffee. Coffee lovers would be wrong to order anything other than espresso, cappuccino, or macchiato. This place is charming. I love the low-key, leisurely vibe that it gives off. On a regular weekday night during the summer, there would be several middle-aged men sitting in white plastic chairs in front of the store, staring at incoming traffic, and speaking Italian. The television in the store always seems to be tuned to an Italian channel, and the owners are nice. I always go there for their hazelnut gelato although their cappuccinos aren't bad either. A lot of European goodies are on sale, including Bueno bars, which are amazing candy bars with hazelnut filling. Yum yum! read more

I really enjoy going there, it is very much an old world bar style café and you will hear alot of italian spoken, just don't be bashful when you are trying to get up to the bar to order!!! The people inside are generally very friendly. You can take your cappucino or caffé latte to go in a paper cup, but you can also take it at the bar or sit at a table and drink from porcelain or glass cups, like a human being!
