Stopped by Prince Coffee House recently and had a nice experience overall. The service was solid -- staff were friendly and everything came out quickly. We grabbed a slice of cake and a couple of drinks, and everything was enjoyable. Nothing was over-the-top, but it definitely hit the spot. It's a comfortable place to relax, catch up with someone, and enjoy a coffee and dessert without feeling rushed. One thing to keep in mind: street parking can be a little tricky depending on the time of day, so plan ahead and give yourself a few extra minutes. I wanted to visit a coffee shop where I could get a little work done on my laptop and decided on this place because it wasn't far from my job. I was a little overwhelmed when I got here. First off it was a lot of people gathered out front because I didn't know that this particular day a soccer game was being shown. I looked for a spot to sit indoors and saw that there were only two people working the tables and two people behind the counter and more people gathering together to watch the game inside. This place was giving more tapas bar like vibes than your average coffee shop. So I decided right the, that I was going to take my order to go. I ordered myself a banana espresso drink, (and in my opinion was just a milkshake/smoothie blended drink) and a cannoli. Although I wasn't given a top because they ran out for my cup size, my drink was really refreshing and on such a warm day, it was needed. My cannoli was a tasty one, and overall I was happy with my purchases. I will more than likely not make a return visit here. It's just to much space with very little staff. I don't know how you will ever get the attention you may need as a customer. No thumbs up or down, but I will still give you a Happy Yelping! read more

So my friend took me here and I was excited to try their banana espresso. First of all the service was horrible for sitting in. We waited 20 minutes and then when we finally got a waiter, she was completely rude and had an attitude. Then towards the end when she paid, she gave herself a tip without saying anything to me or my friend or giving us papers to sign if you wanted to give a tip voluntarily, she took it and added it in. This place is fantastic spot for some coffee or tea with friends and has wonderful pastries I got a turkish coffee and my friend got Ginger tea. the ginger tea was very light and had no tea leaves, it was pretty much boiled ginger brew with a cinnamon. pair it with honey and you have the perfect cold remedy There is outdoor seating and people usually sit outside to have a smoke with their drink inside it's very large plenty of seating and has wifi if you want to get some work done the food i got was coconut cake and it was delicious. the turkish coffee i havd was good but has a lot of ground coffee in the bottom sediments that kind of gave a bitter taste. Overall i will come back here it's wonderful. the service is okay no one came to the table i had to go talk to them in front so i guess that's how it works. A+ 9/10 read more

I was in the neighborhood and stopped by this cafe. It is massive inside and has a lot of outdoor seating. You can tell that this place has dedicated customers as I have never seen it empty. I wanted a cafe I could work in for a few hours in the Bronx and this was a highly rated spot. So, I decided to give it a try. I walked in expecting someone to tell me where to sit but after standing for 5 mins I just sat down at an available table. Food: 3/5 + Service: 2/5 I immediately regretted sitting down as the table was dirty and sugar packets were scattered underneath it. Eventually a server come by with a broom to clean up the floor and told me to give her a minute to come back to take my order. Five minutes later, she comes back asking for my order. The menu on the table does not include their desserts so, this became a fun game of let me check. After deciding on green tea and tiramisu, I was excited to see why so many other students come here. I took one bite of the tiramisu and was shocked by the lack of coffee flavor considering this is a coffee shop. It was basically creme with cocoa powder. To help my taste buds, I ordered a plain croissant. It was quite small and shockingly dense, not my favorite. I decided it was time to stop ordering and get my check so, I told a server and waited for 15 minutes. I was so fed up that I went up to the register and paid in the front and left. All in all, I will probably not come back here unless I am in Little Italy for dinner and need a place to burn time. read more

I'm not sure why this coffee house is called "Prince", but it should be in reference to the musical artist. Now for those who know me there may be questioning groans. I hear the murmurs now, "you and coffee shops" and "could it really be that good?" Folks, it is a responsibility being a coffee connoisseur and one I do not take lightly (roasting pun intended). So if I dare to exclaim this place to serve one of, if not the best, Americano I have placed my bijou lips upon to sip then you know it is something. So to answer your previous rhetorical question, this is a review for yet another coffee shop. And it is one I long to revisit soon. The morning was crisp, but sunny. The breeze attempted to cut through my wool dress coat, but I had come prepared. As I traveled, I began to wonder if I was mistaken on the address. I was going deeper and deeper into a neighborhood, though soon enough I began to see the shops. Various services, restaurants, a bodega, and yes this coffee house seemed to serve as its center. I had previewed the building, via Yelp photos, and knew I wanted a window seat. One awaited. As I settled in and removed my gloves I placed my standard first visit order, an Americano. Let me take a moment to explain why. Now first let me clarify that an Americano is NOT a watered down cup of coffee. Though there are arguments that it should be one shot of espresso to two shots of hot water vs two shots of espresso to one shot of hot water, we can all agree it is a different flavor than a traditional cup of coffee. I use it as a standard for these reasons; 1) it shows me the quality of the beans purchased and the roasting method of the roastery and 2) it shows me the quality of the barista [and ergo, their training] by their ability to pull an espresso shot(s) and balance it perfectly with the hot water. That said, the cup was soon empty. I knew I was in for a beautiful experience as I swirled the cup and inhaled the aroma. There was no "bite" that is often smelt with espresso. Instead it was a smooth, chocolate opening up as one does a fine pour of bourbon. If I had to guess I would say it was a 2:1 ratio (espresso to water). Such a masterpiece. But I wanted more. Having reached a level of coffee I knew was already beyond my usual quota, I decided to be more daring. I ordered the Mocha. If anyone was going to do it right, it would be Prince. And my bravery paid off. Again the chocolate aroma beckoned me as the clear glass rested upon the table. The warm milk and semi sweet cocoa powder, along with that kick of perfect espresso shot, made me feel like a kid again. Only instead of hot chocolate and Saturday cartoons, I was sipping this and longing for a good documentary series to watch. Listen, if you live near here or are ever in the area (aka, the Bronx) go find yourself a seat. Whether sitting inside by the window or downstairs in the cellar or outside, it doesn't matter. Whatever you order from the menu is the focus, as it should be. read more

This is a wonderful place. A diamond in the rough. Before returning to Syracuse after a trip to New York City to meet with friends and play trumpets, I took a walk prior to my flight Walking through the Bronx was awesome. The signage is hilarious "Private Sign - Do Not Read" then I came upon a wonderful little pocket park with the largest marble bust of Christopher Columbus I have ever seen and behind that, through the trees as Prince Coffee House. This place is fantastic. The food, the service, wonderful Albanian coffeehouse. I suggest you go there, seek it out, it's worth it and do what I did, take one of everything on the top two shelves of the case. Prince Coffee House, you guys are great. (Even the crabby young waitress ) I even recommended to a customer service agent named Becca, who was helping me with a major problem on my travels that she and her wife should go. Prince coffee is a wonderful spot in the Little Italy of Bronx. The sitting area outside faces the street, and you can sip some coffee and feel like you're people watching in Europe. The tres leche cake and the coconut cake were phenomenal. Very soft, creamy and absolutely delicious. We weren't huge fans of the Turkish coffee and the macchiato, but the helpful staff, delicious baked goods and the great ambiance definitely made me give this place 5 stars! read more

We visited Prince Coffee House since we saw that it was so crowd & seems so popular in the neighborhood during brunch time. However, the experience wasn't really pleasant due to the reluctant service. The staff kept messing up our order and missing our request. We asked to warm up our pastries, but it was served cold and request to-go cups for latte but it was prepared in mugs. We had their Croissant and Tres Leches Cake with 2 hot lattes. A hidden gem in the Bronx. This is my second time coming here, and it was just as good as the first time. There's ample seating, so you can definitely snag a table, even during their busiest hours. Their desserts and coffees are extremely decadent. The only downside is that they do play loud music. My 10 year old wanted to take me out. She did her own research and found this coffee spot for us. It is located in the Bronx little Italy area. This place has tons of charm. The guy behind the counter poured me a cup of leftover coffee from the previous day. When the waiter noticed the cup of coffee was cold .. she said she would just steamed the cold coffee that was given to me. I refuse to take it!!! I asked if she had fresh coffee and she apologized and said no they just opened. I was served leftover coffee from the day before! Been here twice now with others to do work. The shop itself is fairly huge with lots of seating and different sized tables to accommodate for varying party sizes. There is a downstairs that has a massive table and smaller two person tables which I think provide a more quiet space. The bathroom is downstairs as well. As for food/drinks, I think they're ok. I've had the ginger tea which is simple and the raspberry cheesecake which is a nice delight. The major downsides are the lack of outlets to charge devices as well as there being a broken part of a bench at the back of the main floor. Speaking of that bench, it is poorly made from some planks of wood and is a bit wobbly. The cushions on the seat slip around, not the best experience. The service is good, all the staff are very kind every time I come in. Overall, a nice place to do work. read more

Very impressed with this coffee shop I came here on a Saturday evening and it was packed. They offer a variety of coffee and smoothies and ice coffee/ lattes at amazing prices. They also have dessert available. The shop is too cute and has great seatings for groups. I came here to talk to some friends and it was a great setting as it's perfect for some conversations. My fiancé tried the Turkish coffee for the first time and it was really good the flavor was rich and the textures was thick. It came with a biscuit which was all very cute how is presented. I had the banana expresso and it was all very yummy. I would definitely recommend coming here service was good. The low tables were my favorite as it was very welcoming and chill. This spot is right at the end of Arthur Avenue and although off the hustle and bustle of Arthur Ave it is still awesome. They have a spacious interior and a few tables to enjoy a coffee or some treats. It is a clean store too which is always good to see. This is more of a modern style coffee spot in contrast to the old school Arthur Ave spots. The one item that popped out at me was the Kasata which is this cookie cake type thing. I have it before but it is hard to find and always hits the spot. The rest of the desserts look great too and perfect to enjoy with one of their coffee selections. They aren't strictly italian either so you can get all sorts of stuff. Check it out! read more

Loved the place and the staff!! Me and my boyfriend payed a visited to Prince Coffee House yesterday while exploring Arthur Ave and had a fantastic experience. The place was packed and very inviting! The blonde waitress was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure me and my boyfriend had a great time. She suggested we try their famous "Turkish coffee and macchiatos" , both of which were delicious. Oh we also suggest the " Tres Leches" fresh and very delicious. Everybody there seemed to have a good time. The only downside is the people outside would smoke leaving a very bad smell, oh and the menus didn't have the prices written down. If i can give a negative star I would. It was so uncomfortable being there. Being in the Bronx, right next to Fordham at least, I thought I would be treated regularly. I should mention that this is an all white staff and I am black, because this experience was nothing short of racist. I've been there 3x and I was not served 2x I've been there. Those two times, I would have to go up to get service. The last time, I waited 30 mins to be approached and nothing. I thought this establishment would be my go to spot to catch up on some homework but the way I was treated, no way. Today, after I ordered, a short lady with red hair came up with my stuff, slammed my coffee and pastry on the table and then walked off. It was a disgusting thing to watch. This was the same lady that ignored my table but would go up to another table where other white people were seated and write down their order. She also left when I was about to place my order. I had to wait another couple minutes before a male employee took my order. I even tipped $2 on top of my $8 order to seem nice, because I didn't want to think me not tipping or paying was in the way of the horrible service but it did not matter. Will not come back again. This is a racist establishment. I came to Yelp read the reviews after my experience and I was not far off. I am not the only one that had this encounter. Absolutely disgusting. read more
