If you walk in randomly to sell your stuff to them, expect a wait time of 30 minutes to 1 hour after drop offs. Sign in to add your name at self service tablet. Yes, these days, lines are much longer and people have a lot of time to hang around, so there may be limited seats inside. You can get cash or store credit as desired. Parking lot if just outside the door. Convenient. I like Crossroads, but they still want mainly brand names, good looking styles and mostly items in like new conditions. Major brands accepted. They don't take unbranded or unpopular brands. Their store is filled with all beautiful items though. I like nearly every piece I touched on the racks. Very organized. Yes, clothes and handbags are all beautiful, including the higher end luxury items. Crossroads Trading shines like no other competitions. Crossroads Trading buys and sells used clothes and accessories. It's a big, busy store with a security guard at the front door and a large inventory of trendy clothes and accessories for men and women. The store seemed to be nicely organized but could use a good sweeping. I saw a hanging item that reached the floor covered in dust bunnies at the bottom. I was surprised by the number of designer bags they have in the locked glass case. The designers include Gucci, Chanel, Loewe, Coach, Fendi, and many more. While most were pricey, they looked like they were in excellent condition and some were reasonably priced. Not sure how thorough their authentication process is and how often fakes slip through. There were lots more lower end bags hanging openly on the walls, but they weren't quite as nice. I'll most likely stop in once in a while to see what they have to offer. read more

I want to like this place so bad but I had an unfortunate experience selling my clothing. Staff is friendly but according to them my clothing was "out of style" when I had been here before and sold basically my entire bag. I understand fast fashion but when I looked through the entire store everything looked similar to what I was selling. Keep in mind I had aritzia, oak + fort, UO, brandy, garage, and other well known brands. I think what struck me the most was the fact they took my unif skirt, brand new dickies jeans, brand new john galt pants, and a few other newer items that were worth way more than the $24 I received. She all quickly tossed it into the bin and it was wheeled away before I could change my mind. Disappointed that I wasted my time but at least I know now to bring my clothing elsewhere! read more

Crossroads SJ is the best resale clothing store you'll find. My two adult daughters and I love the ecological and economic benefits of thrifting and we've been to *many* resale stores across California. This one has them beat by a mile. The staff is really friendly and attentive. We're regularly greeted with a smile. There's literally always a dressing room available and an attendant to let you in. The selection is bar none -- which is important to keep in mind as you read reviews from people who felt poorly about their buy back experiences. Everything is well-curated, and their being discerning helps the buyer. As a seller, I've been happy with what they've chosen to purchase and consider any buy-back pure bonus. They are providing a service to both the seller as well as the buyer. Side note...a bunch of our family's Christmas gifts to each other came from here, which was helpful on the wallet as the value is bar-none. I have come here a couple times of the last couple years. I have found great items in here but if you are looking for a decent trade/buy experience, go elsewhere. You can wait upwards of an hour for them to take two items. That is not much of an issue as much as the way they conduct their buy process. I get that items are out of season or maybe not in the condition they would prefer. However, my major issue is that I will bring items neatly folded in a bag and they rummage thru making a mess. It may take too much time to fold it in the way they came but the last time I was there, the woman just muddled thru my bags (and several other individuals) without looking at the items. Mind you there were lightly used Lululemon, Frye shoes, Stella McCartney, amongst other "core" and "vintage" brand they carry. I ended up taking it to another buy/sell and they took a good amount of items and were transparent of the items taken/marked price. Decent place for both buyers and sellers of secondhand clothing. I'm a big fan of their consignment policy where you can either get 30% in cash or 50% in store credit. They've recently moved towards having your credit stored on your account and not on a physical card, which I love! It can be rather daunting as a seller to come here and not know what clothing items they'll pick out from you, but they are upfront about what labels they prefer and what clothing aesthetic they are going for (also love that they curate different clothing racks based on themes) if you look behind their selling counter! The workers here are very friendly and also don't mind if you ask them to take some clothing items down when they are up on display on the walls. I'm a big fan of their designer case, I've gotten Prada shoes for $80 and a Burberry scarf for around $200 when they retail for much more. read more

BEST PLACE TO SHOP FR FR. After a lack of luck on my side with other thrift stores, stepping into this place was like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't speak on the selling experience, but I can speak on the shopping experience. They have SO MUCH good stuff. Literally such a goated selection. Sometimes I find clothes on the racks with obvious stains or items that just don't make sense on how the buyer would have selected the item which makes me question if they're putting in their old clothes or something... they can be SO picky with perfectly good in season clothes yet some stuff on the racks makes me wonder how they heck they ended up there. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, prices can be a bit high for what you get. Horrible experience for the 2nd time. I had a horrible first experience but thought let me just try again maybe it was the associate who helped me but NOPE!! Horrible experience! They start by throwing items after tagging them into a bin so by the time they get you to come up to tell you total amount you have no choice but to just say yes. They don't show you what they are taking and claimed they only took 4 items for a whopping $26 and some change- but they definitely took more and all items were name branded like lululemon, calvin klein, and some brand new beautiful steve madden bedazzled sneakers. I came her on a Sunday close to noon time and put my name and number on the waitlist on the iPad located to the right on the countertop. A lady at the front told me there was no wait so I went back to my car to bring 2 large bags of clothing in since I read from other reviews it can take a while. It took just a few minutes for her to sort through my things and she chose 3 items that she showed me on the counter before telling me they would pay $18.60 for them in cash and a few dollars more if it was store credit. There behold a 90s LL bean vintage leather bomber in my size. What a steal, for genuine leather and wool details. It was in perfect condition and looked like it had barely been worn. Great prices and huge selections. They also buy clothes, but the wait can get extremely long (we waited over an hour). I liked their shoe selections and their prices are pretty good. I picked out a green gingham dress that came out to $18.50 after tax. There are also fitting rooms to try on clothes. Service was pretty good. The only downside is that it's located in a really sketchy area. Crossroads is surrounded by a bunch of adult shops and abandoned parking lots + buildings (like the old Western Appliances). As much as I would love to gatekeep this thrift store, I really enjoyed shopping here. There are a lot of items and they are usually separated by size to help shoppers find items more easily. Designer brand items are kept in cases! Fitting rooms have a max of 10 items, but they'll hold your clothing if you have more than 10. I walked away but I noticed she tagged some of my stuff and put them away so I can't see them.. hmm. While I was waiting I browsed around the store and oh boy, some of the clothes and shoes were dusty and dirty and they were priced kinda high. They actually take dirty stuff like that? My clothes and shoes were almost new and some were brand new with tags attached. I thought I'd get a good price out of them but nooo... I can't believe they low balled me on my brand new shoes and jackets! And some of the stuff they don't take I actually saw the almost same thing on the racks! Crossroads is great for buying or selling. I end up loving something every time I come here - it's almost guaranteed! The thing is, instead of leaving with a few pieces I kinda like, I leave with a couple I'm obsessed with. They do a great job curating pieces here. As far as selling goes it's very fair, and I've learned a lot the more I've visited. They want trendy, cool, and unique pieces - not generic t-shirts and simple pieces. At least if you want to get a decent amount of money. I usually do store credit here since it stretches my money out further and I end up using it on some cool pieces! I've come here with bags, but I've also gotten just a few things sold, so it's not a spot to expect to get rid of everything either! But you'll be able to get solid prices and know that your pieces are going to a good, loving, home. This location also has a great vibe here and they also play fun, great, hits from a variety of decades too. I've had shorter days where I'd come and be able to sell within 20 min, but also an hour long wait. It depends on the day and crowd, but it's important to not have any expectations for the time frame! all my experiences here have sucked employee wise. They laugh at the clothes you bring in to sell. I once experienced an employee who had really short hair and glasses looking through the stuff i had brought in and she said " what is this? " laughing with her co worker. A couple weeks later I had brought in more clothing and will always see the employees whispering and giggling about what other people bring in. Really gives off mean girl vibes. ( all of this was done in 2023 ) I had just recently went in to sell more clothing and I still experienced the same experience from other employees as well. Also if you're trying clothing on in the fitting room be prepared to get knocked on hardly with employees shouting at you to basically hurry up. But I'm trying to be more intentional with my purchases these days and am shopping a bit less. I wanted to share a review of this spot! This has been a favorite consignment store of mine forever, been coming here since high school. Great selections here, the staff is usually pretty nice. You can use their app to join the selling line before you arrive too which can be handy when selling clothes. I like to sell old clothes of mine I no longer wear here, and they usually will buy atleast a few pieces! Love shopping here too so many great finds every time. This time I opted to get the long black Selkie dress which was super cute, I can't wait to go to an afternoon tea or picnic type occasion this spring/summer to wear it. The prices have gone up a bit now but you can still find some great deals here, they do a great job curating everything so it's worth it! I also really loved the DVF and Dolce and Gabana dresses but didn't have time to try those on. Was also tempted to buy the motorcycle girl bay and the Brandon Blackwood bag too! Maybe next time if there still there lol. Anyways definitely a great spot to checkout whether your buying or selling clothes, it's good for the environment, your wallet and your closet! read more

I have been a buyer and a seller here and this is my experience: As seller- yet are not consistent on what they buy from people. I took a bag of items in once and they only bought back 2 items. I brought back the same items they didn't want during my next visit with a different staff member and they purchased almost every piece in the bag. Once I went to collect my money from the sell it only cam out to a little under 40 bucks. This was for two pair of coach shoes 4 pair of for all mankind jeans and two Paige shirts. So yeah and one if the shirts Oman's one pair of Jean still had the tags in them. Also, I would be nice if when you sold the provided a breakdown of each piece they bought and the amount they paid for it. I'm almost certain that I've seen items I recently sold at a price higher then then it was paid for and that is even when considering the 70% depreciation. Buyer customer: The clothing is meh- I only like to check out what is in the glass case . Anything else I could do without. But I am picky, just good to make note of. read more

Ruth is the absolute best! She is so friendly, cheerful and sweet. I went to this location only 30 minutes after it opened on a Saturday and the wait to sell was 1.5 hours. I am not sure how the queue is set up, but there were some people that arrived after me that sold before me. I visit crossroads regularly because I just love the concept of second hand clothing and the sustainability impact of it. The buying perspective: I've found quite a few hidden gems in the times i've gone here. Just a few days ago I was able to score a $160 wool coat with tags attached for $35. In the past i've found items from boutique designers with prices ranging in the hundreds for a fraction of the price. I absolutely do not recommend coming here if you're looking for lower tier brands like hollister, forever 21 , H&M. Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against these brands but crossroads sell them for at incredibly high prices. I'd say the prices are the same as what you'd buy them at retail for. Not worth it!! The selling perspective: I've had more luck (and more money) selling clothes on ebay. Crossroads is incredibly picky with the brands and styles they accept. If you are trying to sell, make sure your items are from a notable brand and are in season. Don't sell/buy plus size!!! Nothing past size L or 14 in women's. Went to sell some primo items to crossroads. Anthropology and vintage items. Took the items to review and I decided to browse. Quickly I found out there is no XL at all in the pretty large store. I came back up to the guy reviewing the clothes and asked 'do you not sell plus size clothes?' He was kind and said 'in my opinion not like we should'. That might be a coached answer from management (Google it there are some atrocious situations) ... but still I mean I'm a gal who with a flat stomach at puberty was a size 14. Some people are just plus size and we are apparently not this curated thrift hipster stores profile. Sad that they exclude a rather large portion of people. I just feel... this is not acceptable anymore especially since every main stream clothing company offers at least XL. read more

SELLING (Updated 6/24/20, During COVID-19): The selling protocol has been updated to abide with social distancing requirements: 1) You must call ahead to make an appointment (I called at noon on Tuesday and was able to make an apt for the same day) 2) Bring up to 50 items (in bags or bins, no hangers). They're currently accepting spring/summer items only. I brought in about 50 items (sizes XS-M) and they took 7 items for $39 cash or $65 store credit. They bought: 1) small Marc Jacobs purse from 2015, well-loved and worn but still presentable 2) Zara bucket bag from 2015, gently worn 3) Lululemon align bra, gently worn 4) Everlane skinny jeans, gently worn 5) Nautical crop top with a tie front, gently worn 6) Zara floral dress, gently worn 7) Tobi mini dress, gently worn It really depends on the salesperson buying your clothes. I went to the Blossom Hill location a day later and managed to sell 7 other items that didn't sell here. Definitely try selling at both locations if you have the time! read more

Seriously some of my closet staples come from here and all my closet clear out stuff goes here first! The staff is friendly. They've gotten a lot better after a few months. I've run into some not so friendly. But lately during the pandemic everyone has been really great! They have sanitizer and encourage social distancing.
