The cutest teapot ever, I use it all the time!
Karla F.

I absolutely love this place! I have found some really cute and useful household items that were a great price. Staff is helpful with donations I've dropped off as well as helping me take purchases to my car. I'm not sure why they get so much hate, it's a thrift shop, I expect to sift through items and things to be all over the place. My absolute favorite find here so far is this beautiful teapot set for 4.99! I've been wanting one for a while and use it often.

SAVERS PRICES THIS NON AUTHENTICATED WATCH FOR ALMOST 3k. Savers stealing poor people's money.
Alex C.

Lol i have no idea what type of education savers taught their employee but this watch was priced for almost 3k with no authentication. Employee who priced did not say anything how she got the price or if it's real.

Sony CRT that could be sold, but instead will end up in a landfill.
Robert C.

I've stopped by a few times since my last review, every time just a huge disappointment. The store has a funk, they're still splitting up items that should stay together and since getting self checkout has cut down on the number of people helping in the store. Compared to other savers in the area this one is a travesty of things randomly shoved on shelves, clothes that are not washed prior to going on the floor and items being sold at eBay prices.

A $4 sheet!

Did not venture inside the store, but dropping off for donations was easy peasy. Was also given a 20% coupon for in store purchases.

Ask the Community - Savers

Will you take a maternity pillow?

Yes I've seen a lot of them there

Are fitting rooms open?

Nope :// but you can exchange items within the next 10 days. They do no accept returns only exchanges

Do they take futon bed?

I believe they will, but they aren't taking any donations right now.

Are the prices very high or mediocre?

Prices are way too high for used merchandise, most of which belongs in the trash.

My girlfriend talks about this store the way my friends talk about their gym grind. Constantly. So…read moreI finally went, mostly to kill time while she shopped. Annoyingly, she was right. It's a discount spot but everything's sorted into actual sections -- clothing, appliances, household stuff, food -- so it's not the dig-through-a-bin situation I expected. Then I turned a corner and found the exact silver watch I'd been eyeing online for weeks and had talked myself out of buying like a responsible adult. Here, the price made being responsible irrelevant. So now I own it. Walked out with that, some work clothes, and a couple of household things we apparently needed. Prices were low enough I stopped doing the math and just grabbed stuff. Staff was helpful even though it was busy. Came to kill time. Left with the watch I told myself I didn't need. Worth a look if you like brand-name things without the brand-name price.

IMHO Interesting…read moreplace. Finally got a chance to check it out after reading about it. I'd read that it is really cramped and unorganized. I found that there was enough room to move about and aisles were clear. Yes, product is stacked high but not dangerous to navigate. There was one gentleman working, and we said hello. He said if we had any questions, to just ask. We had no idea what to expect or what we were looking for. You really have to take the time to slowly walk around and look high and low. I suppose you can find great bargains if you know your prices and are willing to spend some time there. They had tons of bedding, kitchen appliances, light bulbs and fixtures, huge rugs, weighted blankets, shoes, Water Piks, name brand luggage, and a ton of clothing on racks and some piled to be picked through, plus a bunch of other stuff. I even found some packages of pepperoni, but they were just thrown on a shelf. I guess they're shelf stable... All of these items are close-outs or returned to Costco, or just out-of-season (like the Christmas trees and wrapping paper I found.) If you like going on a treasure hunt, this is your place! I'm sure I'll go back, one day...

Went thrifting this afternoon and my first stop was Black and Brown. I'd never been there before…read moreand wasn't sure what to expect. Wow, what an amazing store. They mainly sell vintage and modern secondhand clothes, bags, and shoes for women and men, but they also have new pottery from a designer called Familiar. The store is spacious and carefully curated. There is no thrift shop smell and it looks more like a cute boutique than a secondhand store. You can sell your clothes there, too. There are two floors of women's clothes and a separate men's shop across a little courtyard in the back. Most of the customers when I was there were young adults of both sexes. The store was busy on a Saturday in the late afternoon. Fortunately, they have a dedicated parking lot behind the shop with plenty of spaces. The staff welcomed me immediately when I walked in. I was interested in looking at purses and they had quite a few vintage and newer ones from designers like Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Dooney & Bourke. I didn't buy any, but enjoyed checking out what they had to offer. I didn't pay too much attention to the clothes, except to notice that women's pant sizes on the second floor only seemed to go up to size 11/12. If they had bigger sizes, I didn't see them. Overall, I was impressed with Black and Brown and would like to go back.

It took some time to find items that interested me as I looked through the entire store (two floors for women and one for men). Some items were over priced but you can find some good gems here. I've been to the San Jose Flea Market a few times with my family on Sundays. This place is huge,…read morewith plenty of parking, although parking fees have gone up $10 on Saturdays and $20 on Sundays. From what I understand, they're open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are lots of food trucks and plenty of seating throughout the market. It can get pretty crowded at times, especially on Sundays, but overall it's manageable. The restrooms have always been clean whenever we've visited, and there are ATMs available on site. You can find almost anything here clothes, household items, snacks, and more making it a fun place to spend a few hours with family. There's also a large produce section with a bakery right in the center, which gets very busy but is worth checking out. Overall, it's a lively spot with plenty to see and do, making it a great place to spend time with family if you don't mind the crowds. The value is decent if you plan to spend a few hours browsing, grabbing a bite, or making some purchases, though the high weekend parking fees do bring it down. One thing to note: we've occasionally encountered teens and sometimes older men approaching people asking for money, claiming they need it for food. Later, we've seen them gathered in small groups. Just something to be aware of stay alert and mindful of your surroundings.

It's not a place were merchants can sell second hand items. Go to Capital Flea Market Saturday and Sunday instead, parking is free, and $2.50 a person.

Can you find great deals for quality items? Absolutely! Shop here to contribute to a good cause and donate things that will help someone else. Win:Win!!!

This is considered the best thrift store in Los Altos?!? Seriously? Apparently it is according to…read moresome ratings. But prices are outrageous here! Even if the money from merchandise here goes to charity, I found no bargains here or even then anything worthwhile to buy even if I wanted to. Here is an example of what I saw here- a size small Johnny Was shirt for $79. Sterling silver bracelet for $300. Are those supposed to be thrift store prices? I see better prices at the Discovery Shop stores or even better.. at any Goodwill or Salvation Army. Prices are high for being a thrift store and actual ultra end designer items are few. ....And, apparently the staff are keenly aware of their value. Although, I also saw cheap brand clothing from Shien and Forever 21 for $15 and up ( about what you would pay for the items new and perhaps even more!). I saw clothing heavily piled at not bargain prices perhaps just because of their brand like a worn out Adidas hoodie I saw for about $15. Come on! Now fairly...perhaps their pricing is about 50% off original prices on such items. But with thrift stores, the majority of merchandise donated is usually flawed in some way which is of course why they are donated in the first place! This store apparently has deals as listed before going into the store but you ask a staff person and they have no idea. But the thing is, this is a thrift store.....I expect better. And yet, I understand this thrift store is in Los Altos where there is more of an upscale lifestyle so maybe the regular shoppers here are used to their higher than normal thrift store pricing. I did not buy anything which is rare as I always do find something worthwhile to buy when I go to a thrift store. But I doubt I will come back here. I will stick with Goodwill, Salvation Army, Hope Thrift and Savers...I know at these stores, I will always find some great deals. And anyhow, are not most merchandise thrift stores get donated so they get the items for free?!? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!! Supposedly this thrift store gives to charity but I am not sure what charity as there is no information anywhere in the store about their cause that I saw which alone would have been helpful- not even a brochure for what their donations assist. But even then, with regards to their pricing...those items will do no good just hanging on the racks and in display cases if they never sell due to pricing. A healthy thrift store gets donations often and staff place merchandise out to sell at least once a day. It would sell much merchandise daily therefore moving large bulks of sold merchandise out the store constantly. I get the impression that the majority of the merchandise here just stays at the store forever.
