I love thrift stores. I love getting bargains and I love helping the planet by purchases second-hand items instead of buying new things especially clothes. I had been going to the other location of Savers but wasn't super happy going there due to their inventory, atmosphere and long lines. So I ended up going to a different chain of thrift stores. Until recently we happened to drive by and saw this new location of Savers. We walked in and looked around. The two things that really stood out to me was the inventory and the self-checkout registers. John never lets me stay very long so sadly we left. But I have returned on my own a couple of times. And today I had such a great experience that I had to write a review. The two staff people that interacted with me were fantastic. They were super friendly and helpful--not just to me but to everyone around. (I even overheard one employee listen to a customer complain about his bunion and she was trying to help him find the right shoes!) The staff person was helping me at self-checkout and making sure I used my reward points and any coupons I might have. These two employees were definitely stand outs among my numerous trips to Savers. I wish I had their names. I hope Savers realize how lucky they are to have such great workers! I was also impressed that I was able to get so many items of clothes that fit me and were the style I like and had good brand names. I'm always looking for hiking clothes like Columbia and I'm almost always lucky to pick some up. Whoever is running this location is doing a wonderful job. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the prices. It's a thrift store--and most of your items came from donations. Come on, now. But I love this place! I wish it was closer to my house as it's a bit of a drive but other than that, they have my vote and a regular costumer.

So over priced!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]But their workers are nice people, hence the 2 stars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The store is dirty, my hands got all black after 15 mins of visiting. You will find better staff at TJMaxx with the same prices. Do not waste your time, but if you go, you need a hand wipe AND a mask! An obvious fake Prada bag for $120, Gag!

Visited this new location of Savers with my daughter this weekend. This location has plenty of parking in the lot just in front. This place is huge!! We only had a hour to browse, but will return soon. According the my daughter ( the thrifter ), this place has a good selection and she was able to find several items she liked. I was surprised by all the collections from coats to magazines, to furniture and even an entire section of collectable dolls. Great place to spend an afternoon in search of treasure. Also should mention lots of self check outs and no lines where we were there.

Evidence of the store initiating the contact

The General Manager Carmen fosters an atmosphere of over discriminatory and racist hiring practices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]An individual was contacted via text to set up an interview for a part-time position. The text message was sent to the individual by his middle name which is racially ambiguous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The text messages went on for days as they coordinated schedule times for the call.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When the female caller Laura answered joined the call she placed the young man on an extended hold, returned to the call and stated that the hiring manager was unavailable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He has been told numerous times as he follows up and attempts to make contact with the manager he is told that she is either in a meeting or at lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This young man is African American, 18 years old with 2 years of verifiable face to face customer service experience. He has completed 2 internships with local food banks, where he also successfully completed grant writing which led to financial awards for the organization. He attends a local community college and is part of a Humanities program which services another community based organization. Carmen doesn't have this information because once she heard his undeniably racially identifying voice she decided to enact her racial hate, bigotry and prejudice practices. This is not the first time with this manager, the exact same practice was implemented last year when this young man applied for the same part time position. Please note: no African American personnel are employed in this establishment. Is this the community that Savers is building?

PS4 for sale, very dirty though.

Swung by to check out the newly opened Savers in Santa Clara, which is right next to Orenchi/Grocery outlet. The men's section is pretty small, I'm not sure if it's because they just opened but the racks were pretty bare with the selection. I hadn't been to a Savers in a long time so I was surprised to see self-checkout. Everything is well organized compared to most thrift stores which is nice, but I'm guessing this place is a little too new which explains the lack of clothing for men. Overall, well organized and maintained. Way more selection for women and children than anything else, but I'm hoping that changes in the near future. This would've been a 5 star review if I was actually able to find something to purchase.

6.99 new or 9.29 at a thrift store. Ok.

A large store with lots to see. Prices varied. Helps if you know what things cost retail vs. What it's really worth. My only complaint is the check out situation. All self check. Only 2 allow cash, which always had a long line. The cash line also accepted cards. Why? They can go in the card only, which never had a line. This would be helpful for the cash line which was mostly Seniors.

Huge store, overpriced items. Clean and organized well. Allot of different items to choose from. You can still find some decent items here.

First of all, unlike all of the Goodwills in Santa Clara County, Saver's on Lawrence Expressway had great lighting and is very clean and well organized.

A girl opened the back door and asked if I was a volunteer. Holding a massive, torn Chico's bag and armfuls of clothes, I told her no, I was there to drop off a donation. She coldly told me they usually only accept donations Tuesday through Saturday, but said to just leave them since I was already there. When I went to place them in a bin, she rudely told me to just put them on the floor. Her face and tone were incredibly unfriendly from the very beginning. When I asked for a receipt, she signed a form and handed it over. As I went to fill it out, she snapped, "I need you to go outside since you are not a volunteer!" I told her I just wanted to finish writing down my items, and she aggressively replied, "No, it's a compound, just go." I just said, "Sure, whatever!" and walked out. She completely lacks customer service and basic social skills. Because of her sour face and cold manners, I decided not to give them my third bag, which held 11 Coach and Kate Spade bags and wallets. The Discovery Shop management team gets their salaries out of our donations, yet this employee is the exact reason they lost out on major profits today. I have volunteered for the Cancer Society before, and we were always taught to greet people with a smile and great customer service. She had neither. This Sunnyvale store never fails to disappoint. During my last visit, I caught the helpers taking clothes out of donation bags and putting them directly into their own cars. When I reported it to the manager, she said they were sent by the county to finish community service hours. Management need to train their staff better; donors deserve basic respect.

The prices are beyond great if you love vintage clothing and know fabrics. I may have found my favorite dress of all time here for a whopping $14 (because it's a two piece set of decorative vintage fabric) it was in the premium section and the volunteers were adorable making sure I knew why it was priced this way. (I couldn't afford a yard of this fabric retail I'm giddy about a vintage two piece set that I can customize). To then discover that the proceeds go to support women's scholarships was the ultimate bonus! My grand total for everything was $54 and I happily gave my change to the donation bucket by the register. If you are in the area and love unique vintage items this is a must explore. I had to resist the urge to buy several of the tea cup collections. I'm a sucker for vintage tea sets and they have several that are stunning! Great shop, fantastic volunteers who are donating their time to support a wonderful cause.
