Evidence of the store initiating the contact

The General Manager Carmen fosters an atmosphere of over discriminatory and racist hiring practices. An individual was contacted via text to set up an interview for a part-time position. The text message was sent to the individual by his middle name which is racially ambiguous. The text messages went on for days as they coordinated schedule times for the call. When the female caller Laura answered joined the call she placed the young man on an extended hold, returned to the call and stated that the hiring manager was unavailable. He has been told numerous times as he follows up and attempts to make contact with the manager he is told that she is either in a meeting or at lunch. This young man is African American, 18 years old with 2 years of verifiable face to face customer service experience. He has completed 2 internships with local food banks, where he also successfully completed grant writing which led to financial awards for the organization. He attends a local community college and is part of a Humanities program which services another community based organization. Carmen doesn't have this information because once she heard his undeniably racially identifying voice she decided to enact her racial hate, bigotry and prejudice practices. This is not the first time with this manager, the exact same practice was implemented last year when this young man applied for the same part time position. Please note: no African American personnel are employed in this establishment. Is this the community that Savers is building?

I love thrift stores. I love getting bargains and I love helping the planet by purchases second-hand items instead of buying new things especially clothes. I had been going to the other location of Savers but wasn't super happy going there due to their inventory, atmosphere and long lines. So I ended up going to a different chain of thrift stores. Until recently we happened to drive by and saw this new location of Savers. We walked in and looked around. The two things that really stood out to me was the inventory and the self-checkout registers. John never lets me stay very long so sadly we left. But I have returned on my own a couple of times. And today I had such a great experience that I had to write a review. The two staff people that interacted with me were fantastic. They were super friendly and helpful--not just to me but to everyone around. (I even overheard one employee listen to a customer complain about his bunion and she was trying to help him find the right shoes!) The staff person was helping me at self-checkout and making sure I used my reward points and any coupons I might have. These two employees were definitely stand outs among my numerous trips to Savers. I wish I had their names. I hope Savers realize how lucky they are to have such great workers! I was also impressed that I was able to get so many items of clothes that fit me and were the style I like and had good brand names. I'm always looking for hiking clothes like Columbia and I'm almost always lucky to pick some up. Whoever is running this location is doing a wonderful job. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the prices. It's a thrift store--and most of your items came from donations. Come on, now. But I love this place! I wish it was closer to my house as it's a bit of a drive but other than that, they have my vote and a regular costumer.

So over priced!!! But their workers are nice people, hence the 2 stars. The store is dirty, my hands got all black after 15 mins of visiting. You will find better staff at TJMaxx with the same prices. Do not waste your time, but if you go, you need a hand wipe AND a mask! An obvious fake Prada bag for $120, Gag!

PS4 for sale, very dirty though.

Swung by to check out the newly opened Savers in Santa Clara, which is right next to Orenchi/Grocery outlet. The men's section is pretty small, I'm not sure if it's because they just opened but the racks were pretty bare with the selection. I hadn't been to a Savers in a long time so I was surprised to see self-checkout. Everything is well organized compared to most thrift stores which is nice, but I'm guessing this place is a little too new which explains the lack of clothing for men. Overall, well organized and maintained. Way more selection for women and children than anything else, but I'm hoping that changes in the near future. This would've been a 5 star review if I was actually able to find something to purchase.

6.99 new or 9.29 at a thrift store. Ok.

A large store with lots to see. Prices varied. Helps if you know what things cost retail vs. What it's really worth. My only complaint is the check out situation. All self check. Only 2 allow cash, which always had a long line. The cash line also accepted cards. Why? They can go in the card only, which never had a line. This would be helpful for the cash line which was mostly Seniors.

$70 pants at the thrift store...

Prices were outrageous, hardly any bargains at all. Items that were reasonably priced had stains and holes galore. The employees also appear to hate their jobs as no one greeted us, smiled or anything. Also despite having green tags be 50% off there were none to be found, not that it would have made a difference anyways. It also smelled horribly in there and the restrooms were disgusting. Would not recommend.

Location will be very helpful! Store on Parkmore closed and it takes hours to get to the store across town.

First of all, unlike all of the Goodwills in Santa Clara County, Saver's on Lawrence Expressway had great lighting and is very clean and well organized.

You can tell that they are careful about what they decide to put out on the floor. The items were all in good condition and contemporary. Everything was priced to sell and I snagged some good deals on some pots for my plants. I was looking for a single teacup but they didn't have any on the floor. The staff were really friendly and they offered to check in the back for me. They even joined me in my hunt around the store. Lovely ladies. I will be returning.

Absolute gem of a thrift shop!…read more Well curated and the volunteers went out of their way to help me navigate the giant hula hoops I discovered. The prices are beyond great if you love vintage clothing and know fabrics. I may have found my favorite dress of all time here for a whopping $14 (because it's a two piece set of decorative vintage fabric) it was in the premium section and the volunteers were adorable making sure I knew why it was priced this way. (I couldn't afford a yard of this fabric retail I'm giddy about a vintage two piece set that I can customize). To then discover that the proceeds go to support women's scholarships was the ultimate bonus! My grand total for everything was $54 and I happily gave my change to the donation bucket by the register. If you are in the area and love unique vintage items this is a must explore. I had to resist the urge to buy several of the tea cup collections. I'm a sucker for vintage tea sets and they have several that are stunning! Great shop, fantastic volunteers who are donating their time to support a wonderful cause.

It's a cute boutique offering California-made items such as pottery, clothes, skin care products, jewelry, art, and more. The store is nicely organized and their items are neatly displayed. A table with pottery near the entrance caught my eye right away. I also enjoyed checking out the flavored salts and oils for cooking, room diffusers, wall art, and jewelry. I was surprised to see they carry the wonderful Osea skin care products as I didn't know they were made in California. I ended up buying a ceramic spoon rest, room spray, and a tiny gold "diamond" ring. Their prices were reasonable. The store owner rang up my items and was very friendly and nice. I will definitely be back to shop here again.

I bought a tank top and it was $42 which was pretty steep but I didn't mind. Until today, I had washed the top I purchased ONCE and after only 2 or 3 wears it starts pilling almost everywhere! Sometimes the my washer does this which isn't avoidable, but I had washed it with like colors and fabric types so it shouldn't have done this. There's also weird lines in the fabric now so not sure if I would wear this outside my house anymore.
