I went to this new location today for the first time. It was clean and seemed organized well. The prices were really high for a second hand store, though! Somebody's used shower curtain was priced at $12! I love thrift stores (and may go back?) but some of the prices were ridiculous for used things. read more

It's so unfathomable that thrift stores who get their items for free mark up the prices to ridiculous levels. I love browsing and took time in each section and can conclude that whoever sets the prices is sick in the head. These clothes have a destiny in landfills and savers is holding them hostage until then in their creepy, bad radio music store because they gouge people to pay $10+ fore shien quality stuff. I swear when they see a recognizable brand they hike the price up $5 and by brand I mean shit like H&M Some stuff was relatively cheap ($5-9) while others were way out of proportion ($17-25). The store is at least categorized more than most thrifts and has a large selection. When I asked to look at some stuff in the showcase the employee didn't say a single word to me like damn sorry I pulled you away from moving clothes on a rack. The vibes in the back were off too, like why is someone aggressively throwing a bunch of stuff that was out back into a big bin? Savers is supposed to be a thrift, and thrift stores are supposed to be affordable. I came by this thrift store a little bit after it just opened, and there were a lot of cool things in the store. But everything was so overly priced. The average price for shirts was $10 and the average for hoodies/sweaters/jackets was $20. That may not be a lot of money to some people, but as someone who's been thrifting for a long time, this is ridiculous. They get donation that are free. Shirts should be nothing over $5 and jackets should be $10 at MOST. I'm going to take a guess that because this store was opened in a wealthier area, that they took advantage of upping the prices for their clothing. It's sad because thrift stores are supposed to be affordable for people who don't have enough money for clothes at regular clothing stores. Not to mention that all the items from high end brands are at least $45 or more. Why would you strip people their one opportunity to get something high-end, that savers receives for free, probably for the first time in their life and maybe only time? ( I'm aware savers pays non-profit organizations for the donations they receive, but I also know it's very little compared to the price things get sold for) read more

I'm glad this Savers opened! The staff members have always been friendly and eager to help, and things are neatly displayed. The store is spacious and bright. The pricing doesn't seem consistent, but I've found things like new Nike AF1s for $16 and a kids Essentials hoodie for $6. Regarding the negative reviews below, I was there at opening weekend and the digital coupons say in the fine print that they can't be used on Grand Opening weekends, so I wasn't surprised I couldn't use them. Also, I learned that you can make returns within 2 weeks of purchase, but you need to return and then spend enough on "new" items to cover the return in the same transaction-- it's not a straight return or for store credit. Went to this savers and the power went out causing them to kick everyone out of the store. I had to put my items on hold and the lady was very rude demanding everyone to leave or get in a unknown area to line up. I understand the event was probably new to them too but I came back to get my stuff the next day and had forgotten my wallet because my classes had been cancelled due to the outage and usually my wallet is in my school bag. I asked if she could keep my item on hold but she said no. Which doesn't make sense to me because they were keeping everyone else's items that were there when the power went out on hold there until closing. I don't see why she couldn't have just put my item back on hold as it was 10 minutes before. Was not very organized due to the power outage I understand but I feel as though I got unfair treatment due to circumstances. Not sure if I'll be returning, they have a good selection but could be organized for situations like this in a more efficient way. Disappointed bc I didn't get my specific curling iron that I'd been wanting since Christmas and finally found one within my price range and drove back and left my house early for it. Manager / lady employee said she would take her time putting it back which doesn't make sense on how that would help me...because it would basically be a gamble if it was still there either way. I always have loved Savers, but I will not be coming back to this one. Ridiculously overpriced. Employees are also rude and can't even say excuse me when putting away clothes. I was looking through a rack when an employee just came and put clothes in where I was sifting through as if there wasn't a whole section before me available to put things. Rude. I also felt uncomfortable by another employee who I felt was racial profiling. I didn't not see her checking up on other people when at self check out or near racks. Great place for everyone, I grew up from an early age that waste was not an option. Stretching the dollar these days and keeping budget is hard, especially when you're living in Silicon Valley. I have found the most interesting to the one of kind items here. I'm no hoarder, but it's the hundreds of great in expensive things you'll find from household goods to clothing to furnishings. The folks that man the drop off statin for donations are super pleasant & accommodating. They are helpful. Never grumpy. I won't go to the Santa Clara Goodwill anymore will first off they really have no real good space to drop off & the people are not Peter friendly. read more

I also spent an hour at this location yesterday 11/9. Upon checkout, I tried using my 30% coupon and was told I couldn't use it, and to come back Sunday. No signage whatsoever about not being able to use the coupon. Ended up paying full price as well. read more

i haven't gone thrifting in a while because the majority of the stores in the area are pretty overpriced for mediocre offerings, but i saw this savers on Instagram and decided to check it out since it isn't far from me. i still think it was a bit expensive for thrifted clothes, but i got a really nice hoodie that is very warm and absolutely making it into my regular rotation, and a couple of shirts that I thought were cute. the hoodie, when i looked it up, was well over $75. so i think what i paid for it was way better. i saw some cute saree blouses as well and a couple of lehengas that had been separated from their top or skirt; i would have bought them if i had found the other piece. all in all not bad selections on clothes, it could be cheaper but i understand that this is california. it's a big store. read more

When i saw that a new savers was opening i was jumping for joy since i am a huge thrifter, although when it opened i was extremely disappointed. Tshirts are no less than 5 dollars, and most good shirts are 10, i have never seen pants for less than 16 dollars which to me is insane for a "thrift store". the employees breathe down your shoulder when you are buying the clothing making sure you're not stealing. overall just not a good place to go. read more

For a thrift store they are very clean! Staff is very friendly always in a happy mood. Shoes are organized, clean and decently priced. Lots of resellers through the store taking pictures of products/opening products. Other than that i recommend this store and they have some good finds! read more

I was super excited to see they opened a savers down the street from me since the building has been empty for about 10 years or so (besides when spirit would pop up around Halloween). I went on opening day and boy was it hectic but there was a lot of workers on the floor willing to help out! I've been going back consistently and noticed on weekends it's a bit messier, I saw a lot of clothes fallen on the floor but understandable since weekends are busier. Besides that, the people at the donation center are very helpful when dropping off donations and the self check out is pretty easy to use. Some days the selection isn't that great but other days I'll find some nice things! read more

I just came home from the Savers (grand opening) on Homestead Rd. in Santa Clara. They sell 4 Ipods ( with the older style connector on them) in a bag and you have to buy all 4. I talked to managers and they said they can't break up a bag for me so I could buy one, but they refused. I would have paid $15 dollars for one but don't need all 4 for $60. Not every senior has has lots of spare money. The manager kept saying how great a deal that was to buy all 4. Call me old fashioned, but I grew up in a time where the customer was more appreciated and served than these days. So I also put back another item I was going to buy and left the store. Not a fan of inflexibility and they lost a $15 sale plus the $10 item that I (in frustration) put back. I am willing to modify this review if and only if they respond and serve. They have several bags of the Ipods, so I guess it's to hard for them to package up a few also for individual sale. I bet I'm not the only one that asked them about it. Algebra in high school was a breeze for me and I bet they would sell even more ipods by not selling them 4 at a time with absolutely no exceptions. I'm proof of that. Not a happy camper there today. This business, in my opinion, does not deserve even 1 star. This Savers store recently opened. At first I was thrilled because I had been a long time customer since 2015 when they were located on Moorpark in San Jose and a few times visited the Almaden Store, but was happy that this new store would be very convenient. Well, I have to share that my happiness was very short lived. I visited this store on two occasions within 5 days of each other, spending over $300. My second visit was on Senior discount day, 30% off. The store was very crowded and extremely warm. I made my selections of items to purchase in a somewhat hurried fashion without thoroughly looking them over as I normally would, thinking that I would take more thorough looks when I was home in a more comfortable environment and if I found any flaws, etc., I would return the items for a refund. I really just needed to get out of the store and get some fresh air. Finally, with an overloaded shopping cart, although most of the items I selected were very pricey, I decided to purchase them because they were 30% off and again, I would return the items that I did not really want to keep or because they were overpriced or flawed. I proceeded to checkout and when all was said and done my total purchase was more than $200. I honestly did not want to spend that much but I desperately needed to get out of the store; I had been in there for more than 2 hours and was sweating profusely. Jumping ahead, got home went through my purchases items, noticed flaws, chips, non-working, etc., and I separated the items that I wanted to return. Much to my surprise, upon looking at my receipt to check off those items, is when I discovered that the store policy states that the only items you can return is shoes/clothes, all other items, sales are final! I then wrote an email requesting a one-time waiver to the policy based on the fact that I was not previously knowledgeable of the policy and because several of the items I had purchased has flaws, etc. It took nearly a whole week to get a response and the response denied my request and basically showed no consideration for my circumstances, leaving me with a bunch of overpriced junk! This is not the type of business that I want to give my money to and get nothing in return. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all in a thrift store that receives their entire inventory free. This store is way overpriced the non return policy is a way for them to take full advantage of their customers and I believe that their policy is very selfish and was established with the intent of no returns/refunds because they know that what they sell is apt to have flaws, broken or unusable. They state that they are in business of keeping materials out of the landfills but when they sell junk and disallow items to be returned then they are in essence taking their customer's money without any consideration for their customers being without the items that they paid for and causing the customers to send their junk to the landfill. For these reasons, I will not ever shop in this store again. I believe that for a business to not care whether or not they lose a customer, to lose one customer in a retail business is one customer too many! Keep in mind that every single customer has friends and family so it is never just one customer it results in several! I hope that this store loses every customer that gets screwed as a result of their selfish, greedy policies and ultimately causes them to have to close their doors; they have to return to where they came from! My neighbors nor I need a business to move into our community to take advantage of our patronage rather than have our best interest at heart! Don't allow yourselves to become their ignorant patrons that doesn't mind throwing your money away especially to a greedy, money-hungry business that could care less about how they treat you and does not jump thru hoops to ensure customer satisfaction; making you their #1 priority! read more
