I've only been to this shop once, and I didn't get to spend as much time as I want as I had my small child in tow, but I managed to walk out with a Talbots sweater (which I'm wearing as I write this review, incidentally!), and of what I saw, the prices here are very reasonable. I believe this is run by a church, and the items are mostly donations, which makes sense, but I found this shop to have very very reasonably priced items and to have a really great assortment of clothing, home goods, etc. For clothing, I'm petite, so it was hard to find things that fit me (a lot of medium and larges), but that is the case in every thrift shop for me, so not a knock on this store at all. Staff are extremely friendly and many came by to tell me how cute my baby was. (I always appreciate hearing it, it's something I will never tire of hearing!) I can't wait to come back! read more

The Echo Shop is a fun little thrift store located in the heart of downtown Saratoga. They often have sales and specials going on. You can join their email list to stay in the loop of what current promotion they are running. Outside the front door, there is usually a rack or two of clothing that you can purchase for $2-5 per article or item. When you step inside, the front has women's clothing and home decor items. There's jewelry, cards, and more knick knacks as you head further inside. There's a rack or two of children's items and more women's clothing, as well as a back section dedicated to men's clothing. I believe men's ties were $1-2 each last time I was there. It's a great place to check for a tie if you're trying to grab one for an event. Some of the prices do tend to be high, so it helps when you're able to bundle it with whatever promotion they have running at the time. Sometimes it's colored tag sales (eg yellow tags 50% off etc). So far I've been able to snag a beautiful gown that I hope to wear for a special occasion for $14 and also some baking mini tart pans that I'm excited to try out for desserts. It's fun being able to find treasures here and knowing the money made goes to a good cause. The volunteers who work here have also been nice and provided good service during the times I've visited. read more

I was looking for antique books so I didn't really find anything, but my wife found some clothes she liked for a great price. Decided to try out this shop after I had coffee. I was surprised by how big of a selection they carried because from outside it looked so tiny. Because I was nearby I drove down into Saratoga to check out the echo shop. I hadn't been there in a long time, and I had always done well there in the past. I'm not sure what happened, but they have gone insane with the prices. There wasn't a single thing in that store that I would have bought, not even at half the price they were asking for anything! $45 for a not Current cabi sweater in fair condition? That's just nuts. I realize this is supporting a church charity, but the selection is very small and the prices are very high. I won't be going back. read more

I don't normally write reviews and especially negative ones, but I was looking forward to donating my items to the Echo Shop so I went there last week. I have to say I might have gotten the same volunteer that someone mentioned earlier in their review. This women was not helpful at all and very condescending! She actually made a "huff" type noise when she saw all the boxes of items I was donating. Not easy to drop things off right now either due to the parklets/blockage in the front of the store. You have to park in the back, they don't have a cart and you have to walk down some stairs to get to the back door. I think I will donate my items elsewhere from now on. read more

This place is amazing - I don't know why there aren't more reviews!!! My three friends and I visited yesterday, and we each walked out with 2-3 things. I personally picked up a genuine leather jacket and a black coat that I've been looking to thrift for years. The shop is clean, curated, and affordable. Staff was friendly and didn't hover. There was even a half off special on all tops including sweaters and jackets. Kids don't even have to pay which was extremely touching to see. It's been a while since we've been to a resale shop that was this good. Keep up the good work, volunteers! We'll be back. read more

Really wanted to support this charity shop. But, the volunteers were very snobby and downright rude. The prices are ridiculous $12.00 for a t shirt?! Save your time and any good mood you were in and check out Happy Dragon in Los Gatos. Support their cause of raising money for Pacific Clinics and find a few treasures, experience generous people and leave with a smile on your face. Echo I would suggest you encourage some young people / high school kids to volunteer... people who are enthusiastic not just talking about what they are going to order off a tasting menu. This is a cute thrift shop located in Saratoga. Their selection is not that much but it's well curated and neat. They have some clothes, shoes and accessories. I went to donate some items to The Echo Shop. I was met at the back door by a lady that snapped at me as soon as she opened the door, saying that she could not take my donation, and then she asked what it was? I said fine but had a box of things in my car. The box was rather heavy but being 81 years old managed to carry it across the parking lot and down their stairs. She met me at the last step offering to take the box. As she took the box from me remarked that it was heavy and dropped it down to the ground. The box contained fragile items wrapped not not for rough handeling. This lady was rude and will never donate to this organization again, read more

I've been shopping at The Echo since the 1960's. Always a friendly helpful staff and wonderful goodies to sell...UNTIL this morning. I had beautiful jewelry & collectibles to donate and was greeted by the rudest condescending woman on the planet! She worked the morning of May 6th (by herself)...Might have been the reason for her awful attitude but...still. The Echo needs to get rid of her, period. read more

I stopped in here after dropping my husband off to work one morning and noticed it was a resale shop. Given that Saratoga is a nice town, I banked the items would be of good quality (and I was spot on). The only drawback to frequenting resale or thrift stores, is often the employees are volunteers. Generally they're understaffed, over-worked and their customer service skills are nonexistent if not outright rude. I couldn't have been proven more wrong!. The shop is quaint and intelligently laid out. The racks were arranged by ascending size (in proper order) as well as the type of items (tops, skirts, jeans, sweaters, etc.). In comparison to the Salvation Army in Sunnyvale- it was like walking into Macy's. I didn't have to literally look at every single item from the inside of the piece to find out the size or price. The Echo Shop arranges their tags neatly written out, with the CORRECT size and price. The quality of the clothing was some of the highest I've seen, and the prices were very good. Actually they were better than very good- for some reason the day I went in, everything was an extra 50% off women's clothes. So regardless that I found a great fitting pair on name brand jeans( in excellent condition for only $7), it came out to $3.50. I almost fainted. There were several older women running the store and they took the time to see how they could help me. When I explained my situation and what I was looking for they began to scour the racks for items that might suit my needs. They even went so far as to bring me new merchandise that hadn't even been tagged yet. They were kind and genuine. Above and beyond. Kind and professional. I will certainly be a repeat customer. I do have to say if you're a young person (under 30's) you may feel the clothes aren't age appropriate. Or at least many of them. But new merchandise comes in all the time. So if you don't mind popping in now and then, I'm sure you'll be walking out with a treasure of your own very soon :) I certainly did! read more

This is the most adorable thrift store I know. I stop by every now and then when I'm in downtown Saratoga, although its new location is further from the shops I tend to visit when I'm there (Book Go Round, Big Basin Cafe, etc.). It's small but has a well-curated and organized collection of good quality clothes, shoes, accessories, and home goods. Over the years, I've found cool costume jewelry, etched crystal glasses, and higher end clothes here. On my last visit I found a Lululemon tank for $8, but since all women's tops were half off that day, I ended up paying just $4. Score! However, there are plenty of times I walk out empty-handed. The selection is small and skewed towards the medium/large sizes. Styles tend to be more conservative as well. The volunteers, mostly older women, are super friendly and helpful. I've never gotten any weird religious vibes from them, although the Echo shop is run by a church. Items are sorted by size and hand labeled. Non-sale prices are a little higher than Goodwill's, but quality tends to be better. I think they have bag sales two or three times a year if you really want a bargain. Last time I checked, the Echo Shop still doesn't accept credit cards, so bring cash or checks. read more

I love this place! I was a customer at their old location down the street, but the new shop is bright, airy and welcoming. All the ladies who work there are friendly and helpful. It's not a huge store, but they are selective about their offerings. I've found some great things, like a brand new Talbots jacket, and an Hermès silk scarf, all for great prices. Like any resale shop, it's hit or miss, but its always worth stopping by when you're in town. read more

I have just recently discovered the Echo Shop, after it moved just across the street from my place of work. I've been in three times now, and I have never walked away empty handed! The have great finds at amazing prices - you just have to be willing to really look for the deals, like at any thrift shop. The cleanliness and organization of this shop is superb, and makes thrifting more of an experience than a hassle. They might not have the absolute lowest prices I've ever seen, but I've found some amazing deals on high-quality pieces. And one has to keep in mind that 100% of their proceeds goes to charity! I would much rather pay a tiny bit more than the Goodwill and know that I'm helping to make a difference. I also have to say that the volunteers who work here are absolutely lovely! They're all so friendly and helpful, and really make shopping here a special experience - especially compared to other second-hand stores. I can't say enough about how much I love this shop! The Echo Shop is my daughter's and my new favorite thrift shop in the Bay Area! We just visited for the first time, and ended up coming back two days later. Darling shop - looks like a boutique inside. Well maintained and organized by size - love that!! Clothing is seasonal which is great, and at the end of the season, everything in the store is half off! The volunteers were delightful, and although this shop is affiliated with a church, all proceeds go to community agencies. I walked out with brand new RVCA shorts for my son, a picture frame, and some perfect tea cups! My daughter found designer shoes for a steal. We love this spot! read more

Employees are super nice and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect. It is a small little shop with not that much selection, but they do put new items on shelves often. I have always been able to find something every time I go in! Their prices are the best you can get, and you can really tell they only put out like-new items. Like the shop, everything is clean. This is a small shop without a huge selection (don't think Goodwill) but they have some very nice things. I stopped by to donate some items, and there was a rack outside with a bunch of nice bathing suits. I bought six of them (for about $3 to $4 each), figuring even if just one fit it would still be a great deal. I got home and tried them on, and they all fit great! Plus they were like new (one WAS new, with the tag still on). There's not really a parking lot, so you'll need to find an empty space on the street. echo shop is a resale thrift shop, but the things are very very expensive for those used items, spending so much dollors which is not worth buying an used item sold for 40 and 50ome items are even item. its very very expensive, i perfer to rather buy a new one rather spending for an used item, but people just rush and buy not even thinking becoz they feel its donanted by rich people most of it are really not worth buying, but the volunteers are doing a good job by keeping the shop presentable. its not worth spending 30, 40 dollors read more

This is a great thrift store , that doesn't even look like a thrift store. They have beautiful women's, men's and children' s clothing. There are household items, books, toys and much more. They have been in Saratoga for over 50 years and moved last year to a new location (across the street from the Plumed Horse Restaurant). I feel good shopping there because of all their proceeds go to local charities. Check it out. They have sales on different items every week. read more

I live on the east coast but have a good friend who lives in San Jose. Every time I visit CA, we go to the Echo Shop to check out what's new. The shop is beautiful and the merchandise is top quality from some of my favorite retail stores. My San Jose friend even checks things out for me from time to time and sends great finds to me. The prices and quality are so good that it's worth the postage to the east coast. read more

The Echo Shop in Saratoga is truly a find. It has a nice mix of clothing, accessories, home goods and other items, and everything is clearly marked and well displayed. It is decorated with flair, and you just don't feel like you are in a resale shop - except for the great values! Every week they have some items on special. Sales usually start on Tuesdays - I hear about them by email - but newly donated items are brought out on the sales floor every day. So you need to stop by often, which isn't hard to do. The volunteers are always gracious and helpful, and the proceeds go to local charities. I've had some real luck there with quality items at great prices, and it feels good to donate items too - so I can shop more! read more
