Deja, Paul, & the rest of the Angels at 14567 Big Basin Way in Saratoga outdid themselves on Saturday in helping to surprise my Girlfriend Toni with a beautiful Tacori Pendant. Toni's daughter Jaclyn & I tricked Toni into believing that our Dinner Rezzie across the street at The Basin could wait until we stopped off to see "my old buddy Paul"... As we were dropping down into the Courtyard it was obvious there was a big Event going on there as we got on the Red Carpet and grabbed some Glasses of Champagne at the Full Bar before going through the grand front gate of Deja & Co. Toni was a bit uncomfortable in that she was convinced we were "Crashing" a Party that we weren't invited to. The Party was actually the D Heart 40, Fortieth Anniversary Gala that happened to coincide with the day that we wanted to surprise Toni. Oh, did I mention that as usual I left it short and had only picked out the setting and chain for the Diamond just two days before? Deja & Paul as I said outdid themselves in making this surprise happen in spite of my not giving them much time to prepare it. We walked in and after a sip or two of Champagne Toni began to relax a bit. My now-husband purchased my engagement ring from Deja's a few years ago (check out Jonathan S.'s steller review if you're on that boat) and when it was time to choose my wedding band it, there was nowhere else we wanted to look. Deja was our main contact this time and we showed her some female and male band styles we were interested in. For my wedding band, I wanted mini-marquise diamonds set on a curved band so it would match/fit perfectly to the curved bottom of my custom pear shape engagement ring. We took her expert advice and let her work her magic with her custom jeweler. We gave her only a few months to finalize everything before our big date so we were a little worried about the timing, but she made it work and delivered on time (it was our bad for lagging in visiting her). She gave us updates throughout, sent us computer renderings, and made sure it was up to par to her selective likings. When the custom jeweler finished the band, it looked really nice to us, but she insisted it had to be sent back to her jeweler to get it re-done as she noticed some very minor things that the naked eye could barely even notice. We trusted her opinion and honesty and was more than glad to let her re-do it. She made sure the ring was perfect to her standards and that she herself "loved" the ring, rather than just "liked" it, as she takes pride in every Deja ring. For the male band, we wanted a matte gold band with polished edges. She found that ring without having to be custom-made and it's honestly our favorite male band style and haven't seen anyone else with a nicer style. We briefly considered a tungsten band cause it's so cheap, but after researching more on it, don't do it! Tungsten or alternative materials are heavier/bulkier and the color itself won't look as clean as gold. Deja's devotion and experience in her craft is unparalleled! This is a review that is long overdue! My fiance got my engagement ring from Deja back in June of 2013. When my fiance explained the process of custom designing my ring and how much time Paul and Deja spent with him, I was floored. When my fiance and I previously went to other jewelry stores to simply try on rings and I always felt pressured by the sales people. My fiance said that Deja and Co was the complete opposite of this experience. The first time my fiance went in to look at engagement rings, Paul never once mentioned numbers but rather explained the different aspects of diamonds and what my fiance should keep an eye out for. It wasn't until the second or third time that Paul even mentioned numbers to my fiance which is exactly the way he preferred to shop for my ring. And Deja and Co really does give you a big bang for your buck because I expected my ring to cost a lot more than it actually did. Once my fiance proposed to me, we went back to Deja and Co to talk about resizing my ring and try on a few wedding bands... the greeting I got from Paul and Deja was incredible. They seemed so genuinely happy that I was engaged and kept pointing out how wondering my fiance was and how much effort he had put into designing my ring. They truly made my fiance and I feel like we were a part of the Deja family. And I know they weren't just complementing my ring because they made it because I have gotten NUMEROUS comments from friends and family about how stunning my ring turned out. Deja and Co also has a great program where they invite the bride-to-be and her friends for a "sip, sparkle and wish" party where all your girlfriends can come together and try on everything in the store. Well...it is official... I have the ring! It is PERFECT. As stated in my previous review, Paul went above and beyond in every way. The ring was a bit small when I got it (I was pregnant when we ordered it and I got bigger my last month of pregnancy and fingers have stayed that way...ha!) so they did an overnight sizing of the ring for me (since we were packing up to move to Oregon 2 days after the proposal). The ring comes in the most beautiful box with this awesome pouch and I really just can not say enough wonderful things. I actually got to meet Deja herself when I had the ring sized and we discussed wedding bands and even though I will be living in Oregon when I get married, I assume we will marry in California and even if we were not, I would be getting my bands with Deja and hopefully have the joy of working with Paul again. read more

When my fiancée (now husband) and I started looking for engagement rings, I knew where we needed to go: Deja's. Since I was a teenager, my family has purchased several pieces of jewelry for special occasions here. When I graduated from high school, Deja helped my grandmother pick a gold locket for me (which I treasure to this day). When I graduated from college, Deja helped my mom choose the most beautiful pair of gold earrings to match. Then, when it came time for my fiancée to select my engagement ring, where else did he go, but to Deja's. Not only is the shop beautiful, warm and welcoming, but every single person who works there is so kind and knowledgeable- especially Deja. My fiancée and I had very specific criteria for the ring and its price. We weren't sure we'd be able to get the quality we wanted with our stipulations, but after spending a delightful afternoon together, Deja helped us custom design (rose gold with a morganite stone and diamond halo) the perfect piece, which came in completely on budget. We loved what she did so much that we came back to pick both our wedding bands. My husband (who I don't think had ever been in a jewelry shop before) loves his wedding band so much that he couldn't wait to wear it. He was able to find a stunning tungsten band and walked out the door with it that same day, so he had a while to wait before it was on his finger ;) Wedding planning can be very stressful, but every time we visited Deja's, we were reminded of how romantic and special this time period is. Deja & Co is my family jewelry store. I was first recommended to go here to buy the engagement ring I gave to my wife. In addition, I have been able to find multiple items there for me (including a lighter, a ring, and cufflinks), in addition to a number of other bobbles for my wife (including our wedding rings) The entire staff is SUPER nice, and will help you to find whatever you need. They will work with the piece if you want something special done. I cannot say enough good things about them. If I am ever in the dog house, all I have to do is mention that I am taking my wife to Deja's, and I am scot-free! :) They have things for all budgets, so don't be scared that it's a fancy looking shop in posh Saratoga. All the folks in the store will treat you like you are their best customer, whether you are going to spend US$200 or US$20,000. And yes...there really is a Deja, and she is totally cool! read more

I recently brought my ring in for repairs, and my experience at Deja was wonderful from beginning to end. Deja looked at the ring herself when I first walked in and assured me that though it was in pretty bad shape, it was definitely fixable. Lindsey was wonderful and helped guide me through what needed to be done and how the process would work. When I came back to pick it up it was perfectly repaired and gorgeous, better than before!
