It's the owner/management issue. I've known the details of both the late Joe Escobar and David his son since 1981 when Joe was downtown. Not great to work with when choosing a diamond. Beautiful diamonds and fine gems though. They had a fabulous sales staff in the 80's there in Campbell. But lost several women sales lady's because they weren't comfortable there. My brother bought many things for his wife there. He always worked with Saundra with a Checoslavkian name. She was the best sales lady, also Marie Furia. So if they're still there ask for them. They make the experience fun. I have bought graduation gifts there. Just not the same. Young inexperienced people now. read more

We have been longtime customers of Joe Escobar Diamonds, and once again, they exceeded our expectations. Ryan took such exceptional care of us and made the entire experience feel personal and special. I had been searching for the perfect earrings to wear to my daughter's wedding, but nothing felt quite right. Then Ryan texted me that a new pair had just been made that he thought could work beautifully. He was exactly right! They were perfect, and best of all, reasonably priced. Ryan also went above and beyond to make sure a necklace we were creating would be just right. When the original chain option was not working out, he found a beautiful gold chain that made all the difference. The necklace turned out beautifully. Ryan's thoughtfulness, taste, attention to detail, and genuine care are exceptional. We are so grateful and look forward to working with him again. Joe Escobar Diamonds is fortunate to have someone like Ryan, and we highly recommend him and the entire team! read more

I have been going to Joe Escobar for over 25 years. I had a much smaller budget then and rarely frequent them, but over the years was able to purchase a small collection. I have also fixed a number of items that I have inherited and their work is really good. This place has exquisite jewelry for a fair price. The quality of the pieces and deign is very elegant and timeless no matter how much you spend . I have visited other jewelry stores for similar priced items and honestly the other store items are low quality all around, not unique and the craft is not there, and I have been to many throughout the entire Bay Area and beyond. There are the high end branded stores, but you are buying the brand more than the jewelry. I am more about collecting beautiful pieces of high quality with a unique flair- it's the value that it represents. Details even in extremely small ways matter a lot. The service here is impeccable no matter if I purchased, simply admired the pieces, or was only able to spend a few thousands. I was never judged and they stand behind all their pieces. I appreciate the craftsmanship and wide range of price points available. I always have so much fun visiting. They have their craft down. It's so rare and fabulous to have a jeweler in the community like Joe Escobar. read more

Got my wedding ring resized here and had a great experience. Very welcoming from the minute I stepped in and great customer service.

I have been living in San Jose for over 30 years and have seen this store but never stopped by until today. I bought a necklace from somewhere but the necklace had a little issue for me. It was a very minor job. I didn't think they would take the job and fix it but I thought I would just try them. I was really surprised by the size of the store and selections of the jewelrys they had. Their staffs were really nice and very welcoming especially Eeva. Eeva listened to my concern and really tried to help me. Finally it took them only about two hours to fix my necklace. I was really happy with their service and definitely will recommend for anyone looking for a trustworthy jewelry. And definitely I will go back with my husband for a piece for myself. read more

The Escobar experience could not be better!! Every member is courteous and capable. They were absolutely invaluable when I put myself in their hands to choose an engagement ring for my wife. When I came to them with only a photograph of a concept ring for myself, they produced a prototype. They used it to produce an original piece. I will look to them for all of my jewelry needs!! My husband and I ended up buying our wedding rings here, and I definitely don't recommend Joe Escobar's. We looked at a number of jewelers but ended up choosing this place because of a style of Christian Bauer ring we fell for. They were matching rose gold and palladium bands in alternating waves (see photo). We felt like it symbolized the intertwining our lives, not to mention we are an interracial couple. They were more expensive than the number of the bands at other jewelers that we were alternatively considering, but we decided it was worth the rings we loved. We also went there because we had read on one review that they were gay friendly. We paid for the rings but a couple of weeks later got a call from Escobar's, saying that they weren't going to be able to have the ring made with palladium after all, so they recommended using platinum instead. This was disappointing, but they assured us that the end result would be almost the same. We didn't particularly care what the metals were as long as the visual effect was the same. When we picked up our rings, we were immediately disappointed with how much they didn't resemble the original rings we tried on from the showcase. They assured us that it was simply because the rings were new, and that after a few months of wear, a "patina" would make the platinum stand out more. We were getting married in a few months, so we decided to trust them rather than scrambling to find an alternative in time for the wedding. We regret believing them, because that just turned out to be untrue. Fast forward to now. A year after our wedding and our rings never did have a visible wave like the rings we purchased. We recently went back to Escobar to have our rings polished and we were shocked and frustrated to see that they still had the original rose gold and palladium rings on display in the showcase. What the heck? Turns out that they're still selling them even though that ring is no longer an option. Aka, false advertising. How many more people were they going to disappoint and trick? Even if they had no way of knowing that the palladium was not going to be available for our particular rings, they should have at least updated the case with the offerings that are actually available for future ring buyers. Some other couple is going to come by and fall in love with the rings in the showcase just like we did only for them to be given the same excuses and false promises that they gave to us. I wouldn't recommend shopping with Escobar Diamonds in the first place, but if you were going to choose to do so, don't buy any of the Christian Bauer mixed metals rings. Additionally, when they call you to explain that they're going to have to make adjustments to your order, save yourself the time and frustration by cancelling your order. While we love our wedding rings because they are ours, they will always represent the disappointment and frustration we experienced at Joe Escobar's. read more

The team at Joe Escobar is incredible, especially Matt and Michael. We bought my wife's engagement ring and my wedding band here, and they were helpful, kind and transparent throughout the whole process. I never felt pressured to buy anything which I've felt at many other jewelers. I recently lost my wedding band and they were quick to help me get an exact replacement, which my home insurance covered. Highly recommend Joe Escobar, they will take of you! read more

Ryan helped my then fiancee, now husband, find the perfect ring. I've been a loyal customer for 25 years--a fact that feels almost surreal to say! Over the years, I've had the pleasure of working with Ryan Vaughn, who has consistently provided me with professional and courteous service. Most recently, while searching for a special gift for my wife to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, I connected with another representative named JP. He was invaluable in offering thoughtful suggestions that truly made my decision easier. I ended up choosing a beautiful piece of jewelry, and to top it all off, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an incredible bottle of champagne as well. I'd love to convey my gratitude for the great service I've experienced at Joe Escobar Jewelry in the review. Would you be able to help me put this all together? Thank you so much for your time! I searched for an engagement ring for over a year before walking into Joe Escobar. I continued to shop around even after my first visit but found that the customer service at Joe Escobar sets it apart from the pack. Lisa H. helped me through the entire process and I found our interactions educational and more importantly, she was patient with me. I was "that guy" who couldn't make-up his mind on which ring to buy, thankfully, I found Lisa and she made me a customer for life. Recently I went in for a ring re-size and was helped by Eeva. I absolutely recommend coming here. Their showroom is amazing. However, I would like to recommend Maia to design a piece for you. I was a walk-in - no appointment. My goal - to create a bracelet from my wedding ring. This would be a present to me on my 10 year divorcery. Maia was very patient with me and explained some options that could be done. I let her know that there was no rush on this as I wanted to pick it up in August (this was May). She said that would be no problem. She suggested the 'pull' style bracelet - rather than a clasp. I was hesitant at the start, but I'm so glad I listened to her suggestion. I showed her some other pieces of jewelry of mine - to show what I liked. Maia really made a beautiful piece - it is so delicate and complements me and gives new birth to these stones. Thank you! read more

My fiancé and I worked with Moriah at Joe Escobar to create the wedding rings of our dreams. After finding the ring I thought my fiancé would love, we came back to customize them to our liking. I have shopped here now quite a bit and whether you are looking for something as a gift or as a lifetime piece of jewelry, you will be in great hands with the team at Joe Escobar. I have found all of the people there take the time to get to know you, as well as what you are looking for. We could not have been more happy with our experience and the outcome. This place has 2 security doors where you have to be buzzed in to get in. I guess to prevent the smash and grab that some people do. we brought 2 gold rings in with the weight 9.069g. When I look online for current gold prices it states $69.45 per gram. So the rings should be 69.45x9.069= $629.84. But this place offered $225.... wow just wow. Almost a 3rd of what it should be. They say its just worth the weight for melting.... that doesn't make it worth less because you melt it. He said well its labor, we have to melt it down and do all of the work. Whatever.......Greed To address the manager who responded to my comment... I think it's hilarious that you supposedly know who I was when I didn't even come in yesterday, and when I did come in I didn't even talk to you. You talk crap about my reviews, but I do my reviews all at once from the past month nice that you're a stalker though....... read more

We got wedding rings here. Really great, patient, knowledgeable staff. We had them custom made and we love the result.

I was looking for a wedding band during the pandemic and we were about a little more than a month away from our special date. The Escobar's were able to help us pick out a specific band for a good price. They were also able to get the band to us with time to spare. This review is long overdue. I can't say enough good things about Erik Carlson and everyone else at JE. I began shopping for an engagement ring last July and had no idea where to start. I walked in without an appointment since I was in the area. I had just come from the gym so I wasn't exactly looking my best. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome I received right when I stepped in. Erik walked right up and asked how he could help. I told him I was in the market for an engagement ring and he made the rest of the process incredibly easy and spoon-fed. He went over the different styles, materials, bands, and stones. He took something that I initially thought was overwhelming and broke it down to make it simple and customer friendly. At the end I was indecisive between two styles, one particular style and a traditional engagement band. Erik was quick to step in and let me know the traditional engagement band could essentially be returned and upgraded to the other style after I proposed, if we chose to do so. The other style could not be returned, so it would be final if I were to choose it. My now fiancé ended up loving the band so it all worked out. I'd like to add that not only was Erik helpful with the product knowledge and subject matter, but he definitely helped talk me off the ledge as I was preparing to pop the question. I was incredibly nervous and unsure of how to make the presentation, and he gave great advice. Between helping with the actual purchase of the ring and incredibly good tips on the actual popping of the question, I would highly recommend Erik and everyone else at JE to anyone in the market for an engagement ring. You also get a free cleaning kit and a lifetime of polishing. Thank you again, Erik! We'll be back for our wedding bands. read more

Outstanding and friendly customer service. My watch band needed resizing and I was prepared to drop it off and return later, however Matthew explained that it would take just a few minutes and would I care for coffee or water while I waited? Joe Escobar Diamonds holds a truly special place in my heart. My journey into the world of fine jewelry began here, where I was gifted my first few cherished pieces. The experience left such a lasting impression that I know I'll be a lifelong client. Recently, Patrick helped me design a custom necklace featuring a birthstone for one of my most valued clients. The process was seamless, and the result was stunning--a meaningful gift that captured so much thought and care. She cried! With Patrick's guidance, I just had a pair of earrings recreated for my mother. Their guidance was next level and they worked consciously within my budget. The store is holding them until the holidays- I can't wait to gift them to her! I initially discovered Joe Escobar Diamonds because several of my friends had their engagement and wedding rings created here. Their glowing recommendations led me to this exceptional store, and now I fully understand why they love it so much. The level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and personal care they provide is unmatched. If you're looking for an unforgettable jewelry experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Joe Escobar Diamonds. read more

I have been a going to Joe Escobar since 2001, therefore, this review is way late in coming. I have always had a great experience at Joe Escobar's and this most latest visit was no exception. I went in to have a few items appraised and decided to look a some diamond rings. Eeva assisted me with both and she was truly amazing with her expertise, patience and kindness. Eeva helped me to find the diamond ring of my dreams (I am married quite a while but this was one item I had always wanted but we always seemed to put off). Eeva carefully listened to what I wanted and watched my reactions to different items. Then she showed me literally my dream ring- which so happened to be in my size! It was like I walked into fairytale and Eeva (and my husband - who was not there but later saw the video, loved it and said yes!) were my fairy godmothers granting me my perfect ring. I love the ring, the beautiful experience with Eeva and my husband's amazing reaction to buying it for me. This was not the first time I had such a great time at Joe Escobar's Diamonds and it won't be my last. All I can say is go there if you want the most beautiful diamonds and jewelry from expert gemologists and craft persons - and always as for Eeva! She is kind, patient and wonderful to work with. Thank you Eeva, thank you Joe Escobar team for all these years of great service and beautiful jewelry! read more

Moriah has been nothing short of amazing throughout our entire process with our wedding rings. She helped my fiancé design a custom engagement ring, which was beyond what I was hoping for. After investigating several south-bay jewelry stores; we decided to trust Joe Escobar to make our engagement ring. We got in-depth knowledge on both diamonds and specific types of sapphires we were looking into, and eventually decided on a very custom ring with an old-euro cut diamond. They sourced several diamonds in our budget and cut for us to look at in person, and worked closely with us to execute on our very intricate custom design. We chose a method that allowed my girlfriend-at-the time to have a wax model made, tried on, and have any specifics tweaked or adjusted before the final casting. Simply put, the ring came out exquisite. With how much knowledge and expertise we received in the store, we also purchased our wedding bands and an additional custom pendant. Throughout the entire process, we had top tier customer service - and a lot of no-pressure knowledge sharing from the sales associates. The custom work is extremely high quality, and we will be going back to Joe Escobar for our future jewelry needs. read more

I recently bought a AGS certified ACA hearts & arrow super ideal from online company (WhiteFlash). I had it appraised by an independent gemologist & she appraised the color as "J", it didn't match the AGS certificate. When I asked her if the Heart & Arrow cut was worth the extra$$ her opinion was "No it was more of a marketing gimmick." After looking at tons of diamonds in the high-end jewelry stores (C&H,Tiffany's,LA Diamond Broker etc) and comparing my Whiteflash AGS H&A to their top-of-line PriceScope worthy specs (Ideal Cuts/GIA XXX)I didn't see a difference! If you read Pricescope.com these ACA Hearts & Arrows are supposedly the premium cut diamonds. The pricing at these premium stores were pretty comparable(except Tiffanys of course lol). I did let the sales reps know I was shopping around on-line so perhaps that's why their pricing was competitive with buying on-line. Based on that, & the appraiser said my diamond was over-priced since it was a J color, I decided to send back the "J" colored AGS/ ACA to WhiteFlash. Whiteflash put another H&A diamond on hold for me , this time bumping up the color to H, and increasing the carat size too. (The appraiser said AGS isn't stringent with color grades &suggested going with a GIA certified diamond) Most of my friends & family bought from Joe Escobar's and HIGHLY recommended them. We also purchased my husband's band here 20 years ago. I went down to the store & met with the owner, Mark. He spent a great deal of time with me comparing diamonds & looking the diamonds in all types of lighting-filtered sun, dark corners of the store, bright sunlight etc. I decided to buy a beautiful 60/60 diamond from Joe Escobar's and a diamond platinum shared prong setting for it. I'm thrilled with my ring and have received a lot of compliments. I was surprised how competitively priced they are compared to the popular online diamond companies - WhiteFlash, Blue Nile etc. Also FYI,there is now California sales tax on all online purchases so buying online isn't a bargain anymore. read more
