Efficient and helpful! Stopped by here to have my watches battery replaced/rewound and to clean some jewelry. The watch replacement cost $25 each and was done in five minutes. One of the jewelry pieces was cleaned in 5 minutes in a sonic machine for no charge, while I'll have to leave the remaining pieces for $18 deep cleaning for a week. Absolutely loved my entire experience working with Ly, and all the family members in this store. Heads up: long post below! We initially came here after searching and visiting about 6 other jewelry stores in Fremont. I was attracted by their Yelp pictures and just felt their aesthetic was more the Asian minimalistic feel, which was what I was looking for. Immediately when I walked in I knew the vibe was different, and in a good way. When I showed Ly the ring style I wanted to customize, she didn't pull out the standard wedding ring book all other 6 stores pulled out (which I was getting very tired of). She drew up a price, which very honestly is a bit on the pricier side, but with all the service I received throughout the next few weeks, the extra was worth it. A week later I decided to come back and order the ring. It was all upfront, but she honored the quote she gave the week before. The process was then that they would take 4-5 weeks to curate the design and 3D print, and after I accept the 3D design, it would take another 3-4 weeks to make. So I spent about an hour working with Ly to confirm the draft of what style I wanted. They asked a lot of details - the material (e.g., rose/white/yellow gold), the shape, the style, the diamond (we had our own and decided on bringing it on the last day to be placed in the finished ring, which is an extra $200), and any other side details. Then I placed the order. 4 weeks later on the dot I got an email from them with my rendered ring design picture. The specialist, Nguon (another sister/daughter) had put so much thought into it that she let me choose between 2 different settings. I liked one over the other but had some more thoughts. She took them into consideration and came back with an updated design, and my, I fell in love with it right there. A few days later, they had it 3D printed and I visited again to see it in person and approved. 2 weeks later - faster than expected - they were ready with the semi-set and let my fiancé and I wait in the store while they set the actual diamond. They even found some imperfections in our stone and worked with us to cover them with the prongs. Throughout the whole experience, OR Diamond was very responsive and prompt in replying to my emails. I loved how I felt all my requests were catered to. They even gave a nice pricing for when we came back to resize a separate family heirloom ring. For my ring, when it was done, it was hard to hold in the tears of how gorgeous it is. Even their box that holds the ring is custom and has a light in it! This review is long overdue so a bit of background context is needed. We came here when we first were shopping for engagement rings but didn't know what we wanted. Or Diamond has some selections but are better known for custom rings. Once we had our engagement ring, we were a bit more experienced and had an idea of what we wanted for the wedding band so we decided to come back. Even before we set foot in the store, Or Diamond already made accommodations to fit our schedule and came in on a day that they were not open. It's a family business so we saw the same faces each time & built a bond with them. If I remember correctly, Sovann is the father who creates the rings, Ly works in the store with her father & is customer-facing, while Yi does the custom ring design renderings. So the approach we took was look at the existing selection that they have, choose the band that we liked the most, then start describing what we wanted our ideal band to look like. Ly sketched it out so that she can share it with Yi to do an official design & have it 3D printed for us. We wanted the wedding band to mirror the engagement band pave setting but have the band be pointed so we didn't think it was possible. However, Sovann is a master of his craft and was able measure my pave setting & cut each diamond (7 different sizes) to match. They put those small diamonds into 3D printed wedding band mold for me to try on. So I went for a more bubble look for the diamonds but when I tried it on, my husband & I didn't like it as much as we thought we would. So Sovann & Ly worked with us to make a few minor adjustments and sent the sketch to Yi to do another round of renderings & 3D printed ring. We were much happier with it so they moved on to creating the wedding band. When we saw it, we were speechless at how stunning it was. We couldn't stop staring at it, especially when paired with the engagement ring. This is a very unassuming shop. Don't be fooled by appearances. I have had a number of items worked on by Or Diamond over the past 21 years, most recently I had two rings with intricate engraving resized (hand engraving was required to match/blend with the original band and it is flawless!), another reshaped, and a stone replaced in yet another. The workmanship on all was stellar. I was shown unique characteristics of each ring's main gemstone, and again those characteristics were pointed out to me upon retrieving my rings - this all to assure me the gemstones had not been replaced by inferior stones. The ring I had reshaped was my eternity wedding band. It was horribly misshapen due to wearing the ring while gardening, working with weights, etc. Not a good idea. The ring had to be reshaped and resoldered at numerous stress points. The band is a 'chain' style, so quite delicate, and challenging soldering work considering the many pave diamonds involved. The repaired ring is spectacular. I highly recommend and will return for more work on other items. read more

Ly was so patient with us as we were such newbies and had so many questions. It was really cool how they not only have an amazing selection of rings to pick from but they also had this magnetic sampler that you could mix and match different band styles with different diamond cuts. We left after our initial visit to check out more stores but we couldn't beat their service and unique designs and ended back there a week later to finalize our order.
