My first experience going to a jewler was wonderful. If I could give 10 stars I would. I came to Or Diamond after buying my engagement ring from over seas. I honestly thought they would not be able to help me, and I would have been very understanding of that. However, everything worked out beautifully. My fiancé and I went ring shopping around and I never felt comfortable with any of them because I felt like they were either trying to pressure us to buy a ring or didn't care about my wants in a ring. Then I went on Yelp and found Or Diamond and decided to go in and see what they're all about. And man, they didn't disappoint!! From start to finish they were so friendly and super knowledgeable answering all of our questions. My fiancé wanted me to have my dream ring so we chose to do a custom ring. First they showed us a lot of options and what we can do and I even showed them pictures of what I wanted. They then digitally designed it to give us an idea of what it looks like and we can make changes. As soon as we're happy with that, they then make a 3D mold where you can try it on and see how it would look on your finger. The whole process was honestly so fun!! When my boyfriend (now fiance!) and I started discussing engagement, I dove headfirst into research about diamonds and rings since I knew next to nothing (I don't really wear much jewelry besides earrings). I researched all the big online brands (Blue Nile, Brilliant Earth, James Allen, etc.), luxury brands like Tiffany, and small customs like Etsy. I was initially just gonna do something online since I thought I knew what I liked, but I read a lot of advice to go to a local jeweler and try stuff on in person. So I found Or Diamond on Yelp with a whopping 5-stars and decided to schedule an appointment. Our appointment was some time on or around Thanksgiving day, so I was already impressed that they were open and willing to help us. Our experience in store was so wonderful. Ly helped us that day, and she was so patient explaining all the different factors and considerations to us noobs. She brought up considerations I hadn't even thought of, like whether I wanted a design that allowed the wedding band to sit flush. In the end I settled on a custom design I wanted that took inspiration from pieces of other styles. Ly didn't pressure us at all to put down a deposit or anything - we just spent nearly an hour there and she said "I took notes on yourpreferences, go home and think about it and reach out if you want to move forward with us" I felt so good after that interaction that I canceled the other appointment I had for an in-store viewing at a big name in SF, and told my bf I wanted him to work with Or. The only input I gave from there was picking a diamond out from the options that Yi gave us - after that, I didn't see or hear more about it until the proposal I absolutely love the finished product. It's gorgeous and perfect for me. Not big and flashy, but with a perfect amount of uniqueness to it. Pre-covid, we purchased our moissanite engagement ring here after returning another moissanite ring originally purchased online which did not fit correctly and the setting being too high. Yi (owner's daughter) helped us find a design that is exactly what we were looking for, and noted we could custom design if we couldn't find an exact design we liked. After a positive experience with the engagement rings, we came back during small business Saturday later in the year to purchase our wedding bands as well. The jewelry comes in a box with a small built-in LED light. This is a family-run business and the entire family was always very helpful every time we came in to look around and ask questions before making any decisions. They never push to sell anything and we appreciated that they were always just trying to be helpful in showing us what we're looking for and only making reasonable suggestions to complement our search. Since this is on our dog walking path, they also always welcome our dog in the store every time. Just went into get a quote on a repair. Owner tries to overcharge and is super arrogant, demeaning, and rude. I would advise anyone going in for repairs always get second opinions & cheaper quotes. For context, brought a 14K WG ring with a small ding to repair. 100% polishable. Owner was very pushy about me going for polishing + rhodium plating and demeaningly said that as someone (myself) who wholesales jewelry, I should know that WG *always* requires rhodium plating. This is completely false, by the way. Not only owner is pushy and demeaning, he lacks fundamental knowledge. Just because a WG ring needs to be polished doesn't always mean rhodium plating is needed. Found elsewhere that would repair properly for 1/4 of the price that this place quoted me. read more

It was so great to be able to work with YI from OR diamond! If I could give OR Diamond more than five stars, I would! I was searching for engagement rings for months before coming to OR Diamond. I had a very specific design that I wanted to create, and loved the pictures of the tulip baskets that they made. It was nerve-racking trusting someone to make something so special for my now fiancé, but Ly and her family made the whole process so comfortable and fun! Their whole family is so patient and kind. After going into the consult and discussing roughly what it was that I envisioned, I felt confident that they would take the time to craft the most beautiful ring. They give you options for the stones and have someone go in person to ensure it is a quality stone before moving forward. Then, they give you a 3D design. If you like it, they will 3D print your ring, before completing it. And their prices were so so reasonable! Or Diamond is the best jeweler! My then fiancee and I were searching for a jewelry shop to find her engagement ring but nowhere really spoke to us. We went to a handful of stores in the mall with ridiculous 70-80% off advertisements which makes you wonder: what kind of markup do they have that they are willing to take this much off all the time on any given day? Moreover, all the styles in the malls are mass produced when what I think anyone would want to dedicate to their special person is a unique piece. In our consultation, Ly told us what this little unassuming shop and the family inside it is capable of in terms of repair and custom work and coming from a machining background, I was sold. They emphasized not only style, but strength and comfort of the rings they make. The custom process was great. We described to them what we wanted, they gave us suggestions and during the process, they 3d printed a model, asked if I wanted to make any revisions which I did, and remade the model again. This is done until I was happy. They casted setting and set the stone and I'm sure a bunch of other things I do not know behind the scenes. In the end, I (and most importantly, my wife!) got a ring that is made just for her. And for those who are wondering: the prices seem to be no different than the malls. Don't judge a book by the cover, the exterior may not seem shiny like an empty mall jewelry store, but the family at Or Diamond is the true gem inside and are true crafters. read more

She was super patient with me, never pressured me, and answered every question I had. AND they let you see what your customized ring looks like (a rendering, then a 3D model) BEFORE you finalize all the details. Who lets you do that!? When you're customizing a ring you definitely want to be able to make changes - we ended up editing a couple things. Most other stores you just get what you design online and that's that. She also gave me a breakdown of costs (material, labor, etc), and the prices are super fair. And they're FAST. Literally could not have asked for a better experience.
