I seriously had a blast shopping here. My style has changed since turning 40. I've been going for more of a minimalistic look. Simple designs and comfortable. So, for those spring chickens out there, this might not be your forte. Round Robin is located in the cute downtown of Los Altos. Never been here before, because I don't usually walk this direction for some reason. One day I did and was like what is this place? So glad I was curious enough to find out. They have sale racks, and two sale rooms inside. Two changing rooms. I didn't ask about the jewelry, mainly because I'm doing well in that department. Walked away with some items that I was very excited to wear. Already worn some less than a week from when purchased. They accept cash, credit and lay away payment. The lady working the day I went was such a kind lady, felt like I could talk to her for hours. One day I'll be back and ready to shop some more. read more

I would beware of this store the owners do sell fake designer bags and do not disclose to you, they sell the items as if they're authentic I've boughten 3 bags here and got them authenticated just to find out they're counterfeit be very careful! I found this place to be a hidden gem. Although their clothing and shoes are geared more towards the style of a mature women, whats i. Their glass case seems to be their real hidden treasure. Most of their LV bags are almost brand new, all authentic, and selling at a decent price. On certain days they offer extra discounts. Those are the days you want to go in and visit. They have a wide selection of designer bags. And the inventory is always changing. I like to stop at least a few times a month just to check out what they have. There is limited parking, however if you drive around to the back there is plenty of spaces to choose from. read more

This was not my cup of tea. As I walked into the store I wanted to like it as the service seemed friendly but it soured as the visit went on and started to shine as up-selling, and fake. My biggest issue with the wares at Round Robin was that they were about 15 years out of date. Most of the items were fashions from the late 90's, early 2000's (high shine fabrics, slip dresses, blazers) and much of the taste level seemed off or was on the older end of the spectrum. While there we a few gems, in particular a lovely Pendleton dress (size 16 sadly), the prices were high in contrast to what the items were worth and it felt like a significant amount of work to wade through the mass of outdated fashions to find them, only to see that they were marked up too high. I kept hearing the sales assistant pull out items for another patron as I perused the store and what she would say, "That's not what I was talking about, it's cute but I wasn't looking for that. I'll try it on though," as the assistant would try and talk up the item and what it could be worn for. While this space may work for those who take pride in this type of style (beaded, power dressing blazers) most of it could be sold online, so that without the physical store markup, it would find a very nice "vintage" home. To wrap up my visit I got a nice significant analyzing look up and down as I left the store. As such, I probably won't return. read more

We recently had a very unpleasant experience at Round Robin, which used to be my family's favorite second-hand store; my mother even worked there decades ago. However, they now seem to have developed a bit of an attitude. We brought in some items for possible consignment, and a very nice employee named Nadine reviewed each item and accepted 14 of them. When we returned 3 months later to pick up what didn't sell, we met with the manager, Kelly, who told us that we shouldn't have worked with Nadine, nor should Nadine have taken so many items. She then criticized the brand names that we brought in and spoke to us in a condescending way! We left with the feeling that we should never visit Round Robin again. read more

seriously I don't know how they can not close this store. They're super picky and I got to say even arrogant. We went there with our handbags, shoes and cloths, they picked only 3 from 20 something and refused our Ugg and Vince shoes--only because it's been worn(btw the shoes are taken by Fillmore & 5 in Palo Alto the same day) . Is this still consignment store? They need 3-5 business days to do the pricing, so the next time my wife went there and they returned everything to us. The people there said they only accept Jeans over 200 dollars. My wife said her jeans is definitely over 200 got in China. Here's the point. They said, one of our ladies here refuse anything from China! WOW. I don't know they refused us because we are asian or some other reason. read more

I think this place deserves a better review than the other one on here since I didn't find the workers to be rude or snobby at all. I have only been in twice but I never experienced bad service. The first time I came here was back in the summertime and I found nothing worth buying. I did like a vintage necklace but didn't really like the price so I walked away. Going back today there was a great 50-70% off sale going on and I walked out with that vintage necklace I saw last time (Yay! It was still there) and an Italian white leather skirt for $35 total. It was a really great deal but I think that otherwise, if the sale hadn't been going on, the prices were too steep for some of the items. So I guess if you're going to go, go now. read more

I have lived in Los Altos my entire life and never knew this place existed until it caught my eye while walking down Main during a car show. I decided to check it out since I had time to burn, and I was greeted immediately by the owner, who was super friendly and told me that they were having a clear out sale until the end of the month with pretty much everything 50% off. There is a huge variety of clothing, shoes, and accessories here ranging from brand new and trendy to true vintage--from fashionable to almost unwearable for most people. If you take the time to wander around, you can find some real treasures here. There were two full rooms of clothes that were $5-$10. I really did not expect to find anything here, but I happened to stumble across a beautiful, intricately beaded, vintage light blue chiffon dress that just happened to fit perfectly! So I happily snatched it up for $10!! I also found another treasure in a brand new, khaki Dooney & Bourke barrel purse at 75% off retail price with the tag included! So I ended up paying only $45 for a gorgeous brand new bag. There were also a lot of beautiful earrings and necklaces for under $10, but I felt satisfied with my finds for the day. I'd love to go back and spend more time perusing through the store to see what other buried treasures I can find! read more

This is the very best resale store I ever found. Every time I go there I find something I really like and for a really good price. The girls are so nice and helpful and even help me find things that might be to my taste if I can't find anything. I'll be back! read more

I was walking around in downtown Los Altos shopping with my wife, she of course always looking for something to buy, throwing caution to the wind about how much something costs. As I was contemplating running down the street jumping in my car and driving somewhere "less chic and pretentious", I spotted Round Robin consignment inside the Masonic Hall building. The outside looked a little bit like a thrift shop, so I thought to myself, "If super rich people get rid of clothes, this seems like a good place to donate them" My first impression when my wife and I walked in was that they seemed to cater to the older ladies as they had St. John skirt/pant suits as nice as they were, seemed not to be younger women's style. Boy was I only half right and felt like a moron after thinking that. No more than 5 minutes of perusing the clothing, did I find what I knew to be a multi thousand dollar outfit. (Yves Saint Laurent dress) that was wwaaayyyy too sexy to be worn by the idea of a woman that shops here. I showed my wife that the original price tag was on it and that confirmed that the original price was 2399.00 plus tax. Instantly my wife fell in love with the dress, I think more out of the fact that it was more expensive than our mortgage. As she was about to inquire about using a dressing room an older short haired lady told me that the stores price tag was on sale based on the color. I assume that they have some sort of dating system with colored tags. When I showed her the price tag and asked her how much the dress was after the discount, she exclaimed that it was 50% off! I was immediately more attached to this dress than anything else in the store, for the sheer fact that my wife would look like 5 grand while I only paid for a portion of that. My wife tried it on and looked as beautiful as a model wearing it down the runway. She claimed that price be damned she was going to have this outfit. I smiled and told her, "Anything for you, sweetheart." All said and done, we went to the counter and chatted with the employee (Shelly) and told her that they have some amazing deals in the store. She laughed and told us that we should've come a couple weeks ago and seen some more clothes that would've interested us. We both took their business card and as we made our way out the door, Shelly told us to check out their other location on first street called Encore. As we made our way up the street towards our car parked on second and state, I gleaned a look in my wife that I wasn't done shopping with her yet. So I stopped at a newspaper stand, bought the news and told her, "Well honey, you've found a store in Los Altos we can actually shop at!" To which she replied, "No Jeremy, we found two places..." My wife was happy, my wallet was not... but we will be back for more, that's for sure! This is a sister store to Encore, I wanted to bring my stuff over for consignment. I walked in, the manager said to call and make an appointment for a Tu, or Thursday between 11-5PM. When I called she said well may be between 11:30 to 4:30pm, finally got her to commit to a time, when I showed up at that time, she had no recollection of having talked to me!!! First, advertised on website open on Mondays, I called several times and phone rang and rang forever....no answering machine, no live person. Today I called - not interested in any of my clothes - at all - not interested since I'm in my 60's and their shoppers are all 50 and under. Chicos travelers skirts, pants? NO. Party skirts of the holidays? Nice blouses? NO. oh well. SO ! Where in the world does a woman find a WORTHWHILE ORGANIZATION - SUCH AS THE NOW DEFUNCT CAREER CLOSET or local women's shelters to make donations of NICE, CLEAN, GENTLY USED CLOTHING OF SIZES 12 THROUGH 14? I have searched and searched - no luck locating organizations who accept clothing directly for poor, desperate women who must work or go on job interviews, who can use some nice clothes (and accessories) to wear. HELP! anyone out there - any ideas? (yes, I know about the standard places, esp. Salvation Army & Discovery Shops. However, I want to find an organization where I can DIRECTLY help women in need with these clothing donations. (By the way, all of the phone numbers listed for website searches of women's shelters in greater San Jose area are no longer working....) It's not that I need the money (forget consigning!) but I hate for all of my clothes to go into a LANDFILL!! read more

I just happened to walk in and the lady at the desk was very nice but I just didn't fine anything I liked and I was in the mood to shop. It's confusing when the price on the ticket isn't what it's going for as if something is $$$ I just put it back. Some of the clothes looked pretty old and not nice but were too much. An eddie bauer sweater for $35 that looked worn out? I don't think I"ll be back but the saleslady was nice. read more

Pretty similar to Encore (another store in downtown Los Altos), but if I had a choice I think I'd choose Encore over this one. Although it does look like they have some pretty good sales, the selection was just so-so to me. There were a lot of designer items but none I even took a second glance at. Prices are a little steep here as well, and I would've bought a scarf I really liked had it been a little cheaper. Like Encore, this store is geared more towards the middle aged and older crowd. Just ran across this place at Los Altos Art and Wine Festival - Scored some beautiful accessories and sweaters - loved the eclectic selection of designer and interesting clothes, jewelery, shoes and more. I love this place!! Shelly, Christie and the girls are awesome! They are always honest about what looks right on me and what is too big, too small, too ... ehhhh... not great. The special sales are un-beatable if you get on the email list and shop the famous 'back room' ! $10 sale !!!?? I bought an amazing Versace skirt yes 10 bucks and a pair of brand new Manolo Blahniks - YES! $10!! I thought I died and went to shoe heaven.. The front room can sometimes have things that seem a bit pricey for consignment, but if you know what you are getting and figure what the original price was, it is unbeatable! I adore Round Robin AND Encore, it's "sister" store in Los Altos, they have amazing bargains, and the jewelry there is to DIE for. Especially watch for their frequent 25% & 50% off sales, and their special $5 and $10 sales, where you can go into a room and get anything in the room for either $5 or $10, I cleaned them out last weekend! Chrsti, the owner, is one of the sweetest people I have ever met, Pear at Encore is a real Jewel, and Nadine at Round Robin is SO fashionable and knowledgeable about fashion, she is amazing. I love going into these 2 stores. I try to go once a week to check the inventory. I am rather large (size 2X) so they usually don't have alot of inventory for my size, but I mostly shop for scarves, shawls, hats and, of course, my very favorite, jewelry, which I clean them out on! Vintage shops just don't get any better than this, I highly recommend them! read more

My friend and I went to Los Altos to walk around main street and look for bargains. We happened upon this store on our way back to the car. What an excellent discovery. My friend found a lovely designer, specially beaded jacket that was a steal. There is a numerous showing of hand crafted jewelry to chose from with bargains going off and on that are a steal. There were a couple of diamonds that were marked at an amazing price. There were all kinds of clothes and shoes also. You must take your time on the clothes and you find high quality clothing for good price. They have ALL sizes as well. The store was very clean and the ladies working there were fun and helpful. Finding all those bargains and items of good guality and the fun of looking made our day. I will go back as soon as I can. read more

I really hate being lied to. I bought a new coat by a San Francisco designer. The clerk told me that it was one of a kind. It was cute but I was not really in love with it. I needed a certain style of coat to go over a particular outfit. I bought it. One month later I walked back into Round Robin, different clerk, there was the exact same coat. I shop at both Round Robin and Encore. The ladies who work there are so nice and helpful. Every time I have found a jacket, skirt, suit, or blouse that just didn't work for me they have been so great at taking and SELLING my slightly/barely used clothing. Of course, I usually end up taking any monies I earn and 'reinvesting' them in my two favorite stores in Los Altos. I find that Round Robin seems to be a little more for the younger crowd and the Encore store seems to be a little more higher end jewelry, business clothing and St. John's etc. Christy Driscoll, the owner, her amazing sister Kelly Bevington and all the others-- Pearl Trish, etc. are just the best people! read more

I have been shopping at Round Robin & it's sister store, Encore, for several years now, and find the clerks go out of their way to be helpful, and their sales are amazing, with prices slashed by 50 to 75%, you can get some terrific bargains! I bought a gorgeous ink blue sheared beaver coat for a song a couple of seasons ago at 1/20th of its appraised price, and find these to be fun and interesting places to shop and to run into good friends while shopping. Christy, the owner, is a very caring person, and is turning part of her one store into a non-profit to help underprivileged women, she has very high ideals and goes out of her way to be helpful to the customers. As I mentioned, the sales are GREAT, but everyday, you can find hip bargains in either store, and I have gotten some of the clothes I get the MOST compliments on at these two places. If you don't wear normal "off the rack" clothing, and have a funky or eccentric style, or just enjoy NOT looking like the herd, these are great places to go to find unusual things. Couldn't recommend Encore or Red Robin more highly! read more

Just happened to see Round Robin while at lunch one day. As I am on a strict budget, I immediately saw the clearance room and went to town! At 75% off I was able to come away with three blouses and a skirt for under $20! Perhaps it was beginners luck but I will be back soon. They also have a large display of interesting jewelry and I spotted some very nice designer goods. The service was very good and overall I think a good score! read more
