CrossFit Full Strength has been a great experience so far. I really like the warm up stretches we do and how we take our time to avoid injuries during the workout. They even have suggestions on what the best way to recover is with food and stretches post workout. They are very COVID safe too sanitizing everything in a team effort with sani wipes, spray, and each member mops their own workout station after the workout. It makes me feel very comfortable working out there. Gayle, the owner is very helpful too checking in with new members after workouts and makes herself available with quick responses to any question via text messaging. I have always wanted to try crossfit but was too nervous to give it a try (no one likes to be the new kid) but boy let me tell you was my first experience amazing with crossfit fullstrength! Everyone there was so welcoming and the teacher was awesome and very helpful with walking me through the movements. I have a bum knee and because of that have struggled with leg exercises but my teacher spotted my issues right away and came up with solutions that would get me through the workouts as well make it comfortable to complete. This is my third week with Crossfit Full Strength and I really love it. I was trying different diets and workouts but none of it was really challenging me or building long lasting results like I wanted. I decided to try Crossfit after some research and I am glad I did. To start, I signed up for the 3x/week, but you have the option to do 2x, 5x or unlimited. Signing up was easy. Gayle is very personable- even before we met and she answered any questions I had. I am a morning person so I usually go to the 5:30am classes. Gayle, even at 5:30 am is funny and easy going. She gives clear instructions and always checks for understanding. Each workout is challenging but it's really satisfying to walk away after a hard-core hour knowing you gave it all you got. You can scale everything to your own tempo and the coach will guide you through it. For example, if I needed to scale back a little bit, Gayle will observe and suggest it, if I need to push myself a little bit, Gayle will demand it :). Which is great because that is something a regular gym lacks; accountability and encouragement. This facility is pretty large and has all the equipment you need to execute good workouts (and to "social-distance.") Crossfit intimidates most people because they expect everyone in the classes to be ripped but this isn't true. There are people here from all walks of life and none of them are judgmental. In fact, most are encouraging. This is a great place to be if you are serious about getting into shape and building your strength. read more

From the moment I walked into this gym, I felt immediately welcomed. I was looking for a place to work out while I was on my rotation, and decided to look into CF Full Strength because they had a bunch of different options for memberships including punchcards which work really well for me. Gayle is super nice and helpful! Everyone is so friendly, and even though I was a new member and everyone already knew each other, I felt very welcomed and not out of place at all. The coaches are very accommodating to everyone's needs and experience levels. They have lockers, changing rooms, shower, and a family room. The class times also worked well with my schedule and the workouts are posted online every day as well. Overall, great gym and great vibes! read more

This place sucks. When I was new to Crossfit I made the mistake of trying Full Strength after buying a groupon. I was getting back into shape and, having done some homework on Crossfit, I knew I needed to start slow and learn the fundamental movements. So I emailed Gayle to inquire about the "Crossfit 101" mentioned on their website. I got a brief response saying to just drop into one of the designated 101 class times. When I did, I found that the WOD was pretty advanced, and the "coach" took no additional time to discuss scaling, despite the fact that I reiterated my newness to Crossfit. I scaled back my intensity and muddled through. Thinking I must have gone to the wrong class, despite the fact that it was clearly listed as "Crossfit 101", I emailed Gayle again, explained again that I was looking to start by learning the fundamentals. I got another brief response, directing me to drop in to one of the weekend classes. Again, not Crossfit 101 by a long shot. This time the WOD involved 21-15-9 dips and ring pushups. I mentioned again that I was new. No discussion of scaling. I pushed it too far and ended up with a painful strained shoulder that it took a couple of months to recuperate. I take responsibility for my own training and recommend that others do the same. However, if you're looking for a little help from a good Crossfit coach, you won't get that here. My mistake was to assume Full Strength would offer the sort of quality coaching in form, fundamentals, and scaling that I expected after learning the basics from Crossfit.com. This was not my experience. If you're an experienced crossfitter, you may like it just fine. However, if you're new or want any sort of guidance, avoid this place like the plague. read more

Just discovered this place and its pure gold! I've never felt better after a work out.. I guess its typical crossfit style but new to me, they do different workouts everday that push you and use new muscles all in a 30 minute workout. Gale makes sure you are hitting your peak performance by pushing you to do more and take on more weight... After switching CrossFits due to a move, I was anxious about finding a box I could call home. Gayle and the rest of the staff (Emily, Jeremy, Lance, Etc.) at Full Strengh have been a godsend. Not only are they passionate about coaching, but they genuinely care about improving the health of others. I truly believe Gayle's programming is second to none. It's obvious she doesn't just pick a WOD the day of...she has everything programmed weeks (maybe even months) in advance. Also, this group is tight and enjoys doing activites together outside of the gym (such as eating mexican food, drinking mexican beer, and dancing to mexican music). I understand new boxes can be very intimidating, but we make it a goal to be friendly and say hi to all new members/drop-ins. PS. This is one of the most unique boxes I have ever been to as it overlooks an ice skating rink (which has the best divebar attached). How cool is that? read more

Where do I start? I love this place! I was a normal weight lifter for 10 years (Monday is Bench Day, Tuesday was Back and Bis, Wednesday was Legs, and Thurs was Shoulders - rinse, repeat). I found myself getting so bored with the normal routine and I wanted to lean out a little bit more, and that's when I found Crossfit Full Strength. I started about a year and a half ago, and overall I just feel so much better. I am around the same weight, but I am stronger and much more lean. Now, I am forced to do the cardio in ways that are fun and competitive. Additionally, you never know what workout awaits you when you begin the week and it leads to an excitement. I know, I know - you hear Crossfit and you are a little hesitant because of all the bros and douches you hear about. However, while those may be other places, you won't find them at Full Strength. Even the most advanced lifters are so supportive of new or moderate lifters. You feel comfortable and welcome regardless of your level of fitness. Ultimately, we are all here to get better! You'll find a core group of people go to a certain class time. Those people will turn into friends and even into some healthy competition to motivate you through some of the most difficult workouts. That brings me to the coaches. First, Gayle is a really supportive owner and responsive to any questions/concerns you may have. Next, it really doesn't matter what time you show up to the gym because you're going to have a great coach (I go to the PM classes). Chayet is the evening coach and honestly I don't think I've ever met a better person. He is so encouraging and friendly. On top of that, he really knows his stuff! In between his corny jokes (which I really love) you'll find him supporting you and giving tips on how to improve your exercises. Also, he'll kick your butt if he ever works out with you. Ian helps out on the weekdays and is in charge of the Friday-Sunday classes and honestly everything I said about Chayet is true about Ian as well. I bought a Groupon for 3 different Crossfit trial memberships. I am two weeks into my first month long trial here are Crossfit Full Strength. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly (just a fun way of saying I'm telling the truth here): 1) Is the workout good? Darned right it is. I started here out of shape. The members are a smattering of newbies and long time crossfitters I was able to fit right in without slowing the class down. The coaches made adjustments to my workout so that I could receive the benefits of the Crossfit routine. I love the variety of exercise and leave every workout totally spent. 2) The staff are already aware of where I am at (only after 2 weeks) and they constantly come by and provide coaching on the movements for each excercise. 3) Motivation. The other members are friendly, fun, encouraging, and helpful. It's kind of like a big family; everyone wants to see all the members succeed. The owner is there a-lot. She stays in constant contact with us via email and does a great job running her gym. 4) The place. Ok, it's not The Village and it's not 24 hour Fitness. It ain't pretty. It's all about the workout, the end result, and helping the members stay on track. If you want to buy a cheap one year membership where they don't care about you (actually most gyms hope you buy the membership and never come back) you can find that kind of thing all across the valley. This place is the real deal. 5) More about the place: Rumor has it that the owner is on the hunt for a new location with a much bigger space. Bottom line: If you are looking for a place that will get you fit and challenge your limits this is a great choice. I will be "testing" out two other crossfit gyms within the next three months and will update my opinion once I have experienced the other two places. If you're the type of person who has a difficult time trying to motivate yourself to consistently go to the gym and do the same old routine, then Crossfit Fullstrength may be for you. Fullstrength is way more than a gym. It is a family of amazing people who are all there to better themselves while helping & encouraging you at the same time. And as difficult and challenging the workouts are, it is probably the least intimidating place you can walk in to. There are people there of all ages and fitness levels and I can honestly say that there is not a single person in the group who isnt a pleasure to be around. The other thing I love about Full Strenght and Crossfit in general are the workouts. You can go 5 days a week for six months in a row and never have the same routine. I was always bored with going to the gym, doing about 20 mins of cardio and then about 45 mins of weights and really never changing anything too much. It gets you nowhere and really makes it difficult to keep going back. With Crossfit, you are constantly changing and challenging every part of your body. It makes you challenge yourself to do things you would have never thought of and helps you grow stronger both mentally & physically. So again, if the gym has been cuttin it for you or you gave up on tryin the P90X at your house, I would highly recommend you stop by Full Strength and say hello. As a preface: 1. I have been avidly Crossfitting since 2007 when I was introduced to the program at Crossfit NYC: The Black Box. 2. I have trained at boxes in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Connecticut, New York City, Utah and Colorado. 3. I have visited countless boxes while traveling. With that said, Crossfit Full Strength is the best box I've ever trained at. Hands down. The programming is on point if you are looking for a balance of strength training and conditioning. The trainers are competitive Crossfitters and, as such, have insight into what works for progressive strength gains. In addition, there is a focused approach to developing and practicing olympic lifting on a 3x per week basis. Beyond the programming, one of the aspects that I find so impressive about this gym is that the owners are not afraid to expand. Since 2009, I've seen the gym invest in high quality equipment including Pendlay olympic lifting bars and plates, C2 rowers, expanded pull up bars, jerk blocks, etc... Steps in this direction not only attract new members but also work to provide more value to existing members. Crossfit teaches its members that routine breeds stagnation and the owners of CFFS have taken this adage a step further by applying it to their business model. With that said, if you are looking for performance gains, aesthetic improvement, and community, CFFS is the best bang for your buck in the Phoenix area. read more

I dropped into CF Full Strength for a week in September while away from home on business. The trainers welcomed me in with open arms and I had a great week getting a good sweat and learning some new things as well. All of the trainers I met (Emily, Gayle, Lance, Jeremy) did a great job of explaining all of the movements and created an environment where I felt comfortable and confident. WODs were well programmed and I really enjoyed the strength program focusing on olympic lifts. The members I met over four days were friendly, supportive, helped me crush the workouts. I've been passionate about strength training since I was a teen (am 37 now). As a long time passionate health nut, personal trainer. and health coach, I never EVER thought I would veer off from going to the typical commercial gym. Boy was I damn wrong. I am a research junkie, and love knowing the best ways to help the human body whether it be from a physical, mental/emotional, or nutritional focus. My Osteopath, (an avid and ranked man of CrossFit) began introducing CrossFit movement into my programming, and after getting my body healed and strong again we both felt it was quite ok to try something new. I did my research on local CrossFit "boxes" and decided to try out CrossFit FullStrength, as I read specific positive things regarding the owner's passion for programming and training people. The members I began to meet were amiable and the coaches I started learning from were extremely passionate about teaching specific movements from the ground up. I love exercise programming, as I have do this for my own clients, and this whole new ball game of CrossFit programming made me feel like a kid in a candy shop. After my first week or so at FullStrength I was on cloud nine! I couldn't believe the challenge of the new types of workouts I was experiencing, alongside the feeling of how much fun it was. I've always worked out solo for twenty years, maybe with a buddy once in a while. It was a whole new feeling to workout with a group, and a friendly and supportive group to say the least. For me it feels so damn good to cheer on other people, other people cheering you on, high living, and simply being supportive in ways that I never experienced in a commercial gym. Gayle Shalloo is the owner, and she moved into a new location just about one month ago. It's twice the size of the last location, has more goodies, and more smiling members are walking through the door. I've been a member for about seven months now, and it's been fantastic. Did I mention that her programming is awesome??? ha.. (challenging but just right), the coaches want you to do perform movements correctly, members are supportive (which I feel is essential for a business like this), and I CONSISTENTLY have a shitload of fun. I have build strength, endurance, and power beyond how I have trained myself in the past, and that ain't no bull. Don't let CrossFit intimidate you. Practically every exercise can be modified and scaled down for each individual. Everyone can start somewhere by building a foundation and processing from there. You can go to most "boxes" for a first class for free, and I highly suggest checking out FullStrength for one. I am new to cross-fit. I was initially exposed to it his style of training on a visit to Virginia in May. My sister had joined a couple months prior and I was able to get a week pass to go with her on my visit. I loved what I experienced at her gym and was looking to find a gym hat was equally helpful, encouraging and friendly. I was also looking for a LGBTQIA+ friendly environment. I got lucky when I found CFFS. It was everything I was looking for and more. The coaches are all very friendly and supportive of a beginner. The people I have met in my the classes have been supportive and friendly as well. The classes have been fairly small which I appreciate as a beginner.
