After many research for half a year, I have decided on Cross Country Movers to transport two of my cars. I am glad I only went with transporting 2 out of 3 cars and didn't go with them for moving household goods. When my cars were picked up, it went smoothly. I was told it should take 3-4 days max unless there's weather issues and what not. Understandable. No biggie, except my family and I got here way faster even with days later start. I end up being at my house days before it finally arrived. It took about a week with no communication! I have told corporate level to update the phone number so when the driver gets here, to call me instead of the original person who would sign off on my behalf. I end up waiting for days for them. This ticked me off that they took my money first and also no communications. I had no idea where my cars were at. The day that it was suppose to arrive according to the (finally) text, I never got a call from the driver that he cannot show up due to being in traffic for 4 hours. Waited an addition day. I wasted a whole day of waiting!!! That's 24 hours I will never get back. It was constant phone calls to them but no one would give me a call. By the way, Massachusetts to Texas to transport two cars is roughly $2,300. Oh, and as the driver scratched my expensive gas muffler on one of the cars, he got mad because I wasn't happy that he did that and there was no extra wood to help with no scratch. How can his company not provide two extra piece of wood!? If I have transported a Nissan GTR or an Audi R8... oh man would I be beyond pissed off if it was over $100,000 car. Nevertheless, it shouldn't have happen and "are you serious ma'am!?!?!?" after complaining about it before signing off on the pink papers, I am beyond unsatisfied with this company. You're lucky I didn't scream and make a scene in my neighborhood. Who knows what else happened when I'm not around and he's moving other cars around. I had always thought that I would love living somewhere where there is less snow or cold weather. Coming from Boston, I've seen my share of winters, and I never grew tired of them. Naturally, I thought moving out of here would not be that big of a change, especially given a fact that I got a cool job offer. All I needed to do was get all my belongings there somehow. Prior to this adventure, I hadn't even been aware that there is such a thing as cross country moving company. I thought I was supposed to rent a moving truck and do it all myself, like in the movies. Luckily, my dad has a little more experience with moving home than I do, so he pointed it out to me that I should consider hiring professional moving helpers. He told me that a friend of his works for Cross Country Movers and that he can guarantee that they are a legitimate, reliable moving company. I gave these guys a call and got the whole process into motion. The moving team packed all my belongings, loaded on a truck in few hours, and immediately got started on the delivery process. They even brought their own moving boxes and other packing materials. I liked wardrobe boxes a lot. When the moving truck stopped in front of my new residence, I thought that was the end of the trip for them. However, they ended up taking all the boxes into the house and unpacking them. And the best part is - they did all this for a reasonable price. Not once did I feel like I was overcharged. I couldn't have asked for a better service. Cross Country Movers are truly amazing. In the meantime, I have realized that weather here can get a little too hot for me, so I am planning on moving again. These guys were great. I originally hired a different moving company to move me from Boston to Los Angeles. They cancelled on me last minute leaving me stressed out and panicked. Someone recommended Cross County Movers. They were able to move my belongings with 48 hours notice. The entire staff from the coordinators on the phone to the actual movers were so professional and helpful. They moved everything quickly and carefully and kept me updated with texts and emails as to were my belongings were. Don't get me wrong, everything went well with my encounter with this moving company. It went so well, in fact, that I simply had to make sure everyone reading about the cross country moving experiences knows about it. I saw a lot of people here trying to right the wrongs of the world, and thought to myself: Hey, why not join them and help somebody? I assume what every moving company says on their slogans has to do with help and moving support. Cross Country makes sure you understand the meaning of the phrase 'moving comfort'. At first when I heard it, I laughed a little, thinking it was simply a marketing trick. Let me tell you, as a businessperson moving from one coast to another, from one town to the other, whose frequent moving escapades have left a mistrustful 'scar', I can tell you that these guys have completely surpassed my expectations. It didn't matter how quickly I needed to move, or the fact that I required some heavy objects to be transported, these guys have found a solution to every little obstacle. They had only left me with a 'to-do' list when I arrive to my destination, making sure everything else was taken care of. They went so far as to ask me if I wanted transportation arranged for my car as well, and I had no idea they also ship vehicles! Their delivery was immaculate. None of the bigger, heavier objects were damaged in transport (which I had the misfortune of experiencing in the past). Great care was taken of all of my belongings, they treated me and my personal stuff with such respect. I feel like that's very rare in the moving industry these days. I used to have gray hair coming out from the stress of the moving process. I honestly did. This experience with Cross Country Moving Company saved me more than a few nerves. I was pleasantly surprised how affordable for their standard of doing business they turned out to be. I was sure to tip the boys in the end. It made me so proud to see how easy it can be to do business with someone, and have your every request fulfilled, and how smoothly our planning of the move went. It has been 4 weeks since pickup and my stuff had not left the state I moved from, and I'm being told it will be another 7 to 14 days. I booked because of all the positive reviews posted here, but my entire experience with them has been an absolute nightmare! When I first got a quote from them, they were very friendly and responsive. As soon as I booked with them, everything changed. Before, they said I could wait to pay after I received my shipment. After I booked, they repeatedly bullied me and finally threatened not to send the movers unless I paid. Thinking I misunderstood the agreement and having less than a day before I needed move (therefore with no time make other plans), I went ahead and paid. Even though the I had booked (and paid for!) complete disassembly of my furniture, the movers didn't take apart anything except the bed. This was probably to maximize the space that my stuff takes up because they charge by the cubic foot. Sure enough, my stuff exceeded the space allocated in my quote and they tried to extort more money from me. I ended up deciding to leave many furniture items behind even though they were included in the initial inventory in my quote. Then, I had to wait for my items to arrive at their final destination. So, I waited... and waited... and waited some more. The expected arrival date came and went. Most of the calls I made went straight to voicemail. Whenever I did reach someone (always by using a different phone number than the one I provided when I booked, they probably deliberetely screen out people they've already scammed), they were curt and rude. And they could never, ever, provided an expected date of delivery. First, they said they could give me an expected delivery date within 3-5 days. After I contacted them on the 5th day, they said they would have an estimated delivery by the end of the day. At the end of that day, they said they couldn't get an estimated delivery and would follow up the next week! That isn't even when the actual delivery will be, it's just when they'll give me a date of arrival. My actual delivery will probably be much later! Now, I get to celebrate a sad Christmas in an empty apartment. I can't even have a decent meal because my whole kitchen was packed up and taken by them. It would have been easier and cheaper to try moving it all myself. I live only a day's drive away from my old place and the weather has been great this whole time. But I can't even go get my stuff myself because they have no idea where it is beyond the fact that it's in some storage place. read more

Do not contact this company for moving at all! The most unprofessional moving company I have ever used. They arrived a day later than scheduled with no notice at all. No phone calls or anything. After several hours of being transferred to answering machines, they tell me they rescheduled the date to the next day. I eventually found out that the reason they didn't come was because the truck broke down. The fixed price for packing and moving was 1,300 which became 5,400 after the movers finished packing. These people entice you with a price which later on is an "estimated quote" just to scam you later. DO NOT UTILIZE CROSS COUNTRY MOVERS THEY ARE SCAMMERS. read more

Looking for a storage facility to keep my belongings till I found a place of my own. I was staying with a friend but she had to move back home to NY. So These guys were great from the beginning, They gave me a GREAT discount because I lived in the area and offered flexible payment schedule since I work off commission I dont have a set pay schedule. I had some electronics in there and they offered a heated unit at no extra charge. My wife and I were moving to California and we didn't have a lot of time to do it. We looked into a few moving companies to help us and had a lot of questions, but in the end chose CCM for their level of professionalism, courtesy, and price point after we received a free in-home estimate, so don't forget to ask about that! I really liked that they were able to do full packing and unpacking for us. Such a huge time saver. Everything was packed securely, taped, draped with a blanket, and they had special crates for valuable items like big flat screen tvs and monitors. Moving is stressful and can be full of anxiety, but CCM really took the burden of time and effort off of us by packing up, transporting, and unloading everything into our new home. Hired Cross Country Movers for my big move to Boston a few days back, was very much surprised with their professional approach All I was expecting was for 3 movers to show up at my place and to prepare myself for a whole day headache. On the contrary I got an amazing and fast crew of movers who were paying attention, were focused on the moving and loading, no extra talks or long breaks, etc. My stuff was transported to me in excellent condition, got no damages or anything like that. They actually happened to have availability on my short notice, but make sure you still call in advance cause they might be booked if that's a very close date. Also, if you chose to pack yourself - put the havier items like books or journals in smaller boxes, otherwise they offer packing service. These movers have super cool wardrobe boxes which allow you not to go through folding and packing your clothes, it is just placed there right on your hangers.
