Super nice guy came out and inspected house. Showed me some pictures of rat feces and also raccoon footprints. These are definitely concerning but I can't imagine it's costs $9000 to fix this problem. I really just want the pests gone I don't really care about new attic insulation. I am glad I read this reviews because I don't want to have to follow-up with anyone after the work is done. Buyer Beware! I view Critter Control as a criminal organization. They advertise and you pay for a long list of preventative measures at your home and they do the very minimum. I was sold and paid for... * Full sealing and exclusion of all entry points * Screening of all weep holes * Installation of a one way exit * Camera installation for monitoring * Fogging the attic at a rate of 1 gallon per 1,000 cubic ft * Removal of the one way exit and repair of soffit * Thorough sanitization after animal removal However, the work orders prove that their technicians spent only 1.5 hours on the initial visit and did not perform the majority of the contracted work. No cameras were installed, no weep holes were screened, no full exclusion work was completed, and the attic fogging was not performed to the specifications in the contract. The squirrels were back within 2 days. When Critter Control returned, for what they called "Warranty" work, their technician stepped through the attic floor and the ceiling in my home. I have disputed $5,660 worth of credit card charges and filed a consumer protection complaint with the Texas State Attorney General. read more

The customer support team did phenomenal. But sadly at $4k, we received a one time clean up, one servicing of traps, 4 traps in total, and the issue is still persisting . Originally the team promised a camera, which didnt arrive till weeks later, after i called, and asked for it, despite being animals stuck in the trap, the camera didnt alert, or result in scheduling of a service date. Had to call and notify them i had dead mice in my traps, after a little past a week, someone came out, took one of the two full traps, didnt replace a single trap. When i originally told the team where i heard and saw the most activity instead of climbing on the rafters to go place them in the areas that put it in the easiest to reach spot in the attic, resulting in no capture or activity. By my 4th or 5th visit now, and patching up more holes the issue still persists and while i would love to continue this back and forth charade after all this money spent, decided that i will go ahead and fill up all the holes, and continue to replace all the traps myself. Positive: Their intial shoring of holes is impeccable and the team worked really fast, maybe too fast . Foam from damages was never cleaned, and no other service exists where they do a clean up after trap replacement. For the cost outside of larger critters, please just get someone more local who can do it cheaper. I'm still holding out hope, but after a recent buyout from a larger company, i dont see this getting better right away. read more

I payed for a monthly service to deal with the voles who took over my back yard. They came in February and not again until August. The communication from them is non existent, not once did they explain the failures to come monthly. I used Critter Control when I had bats entering my home thru my attic. I spent more than $4K having their team seal up my home and 2 years later I continue to see bat dropping inside my home. I called the company several times and did not receive a call back for 6 days. Once I received the call - we set up an inspection for yesterday. The Critter Control agent (Nate) never showed up or called to say he wasn't coming. They also made it clear I was no longer under warranty. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I entered a contract with Critter Control mid-March 2025. This contract was for treatment of mole infestation to kill and prevent their return. Eric came to do the initial investigation and sales. I had a similar contract several years ago with Trutech which was not a good experience. He spoke openly about the merger of Trutech with Critter Control and that things were now better as Critter Control was doing the service. I was encouraged to hear that and reviewed his proposed plan. The plan I purchased was not cheap either time! It was for a service call that included gassing identified mole trails and return visits to follow-up with other gassing as needed as well as application of castor oil, etc. as a deterrent. I have not seen them since March and have never been contacted for any follow-up service. I have called numerous times, and I get no reply from their service department. I called Eric he did eventually call back with apologies and said he would get on management to schedule service. Two weeks later I have still heard nothing. I am reporting to the Better Business Bureau, and I am going for a refund on my contract. If that doesn't work, I will contact the State Attorney Generals' office. Because, as I read in other posts here, and my experience, they do not honor contracts! So, this shop is about getting your money upfront and NOT performing! If I could rate lower than a star, I would. What they supposedly solved has not lasted. There is a hole they did shoddy work on close to our roof. Critters can still get in! I am very angry that they would charge so much for work that doesn't last. This is very poor and should never happen! We were dealing with my Dad's declining health at the time. Richard (Critter Control salesman) came to our house & gave us a quote for $7,546.03. He pointed out several places where rodents could be getting in to our attic, which they sealed. Those holes had been missed by a previous rodent exclusion contractor (Terminex) that we had used several years ago. Richard also replaced a small area of fiberglass insulation over our workshop, with special rat-repellant insulation. Most of our attic floor does not have insulation, as our house & attic is foam-insulated from the slab, up the walls, to the peak of our roof. Alvaro (crew boss) came out with a 5-man crew that used a huge vaccum cleaner with over 100 feet of hose, to vacuum up all the rodent droppings in our two attics . Then they sprayed a compound to neutralize the rodent pheromes (smell) that attracts more rodents. Alvaro was very helpful, explaining exactly what they were doing, and pointing out all the holes they filled. After they finished, they put a Ring Camera focused on the traps they set in the attic, so that they could monitor any rat activity. They started work around 9am, and were done by 11am. Critter Control provides a 10-year warranty on their work. If we hear/see any critters, we can call them, and they will come out. With no insulation in our ceiling, we can hear the critters as they run around in our attic. read more

I originally called Critter Control (CC) for what I thought to be rats in my attic. After weeks of CC trying to extract them, traps were finally set and it was determined I had mice. I should have called someone else at that point but had already invested $ with CC. Fast forward to same time of year (but less than the year) and when I called them to see if warranty would cover the recurrence, the technician stated that while some of the repairs should have been completed last year to prevent entry into my home, that other needed repairs wouldn't be. He agreed some of the repairs would be warranty work and the rest, I would cover. I received a proposal showing the new repairs along with services that I declined, so I got a revised quote. That's when I started seeing that with each revision, the numbers changed only to keep their bottom line high ($800+). When I decided to post here is after weeks of trying to get a proposal for 'JUST THE NEW REPAIRS' and NO ONE has replied to my emails, texts, voicemails, etc. I've tried any and all numbers I have and the only time I can speak to someone is if I select the option for "new service." At that point, my guess is it's a call service and after explaining the repeated attempts to have a conversation with the service rep, I'm told they are busy and will call me back. Hired Critter Control on August 14, 2024, for a rodent infestation, which included a thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and securing potential entry points. On 8/14/24 I was told work was completed. Despite the substantial fee of $2,803, I encountered several issues with the service delivered. Upon visiting the property on August 16, 2024, I found that the cleanup was not completed. Rat and mouse feces remained in various locations, including window sills and floors. I called the manager and he said he would check on it. He called back and stated his tech had tunnel vision and had to leave without finishing the job. He did come back the next day and said he completed the work this time. Upon inspection, he did not. Upon cleaning the home with the air conditioning on, we were having breathing issues and sore throats so we looked in the air conditioning vents and they were covered in feces. The technician did not check the attic or the air ducts. This home was not cleaned or sanitized. I specifically requested that the attic be inspected and addressed, as it is the primary entry point for critters in a block home. The technician initially claimed the attic was checked. However, when questioned further, he admitted he had not entered the attic. The manager later informed me that attic inspections were not part of the service, and what was advertised on Critter Control's website didn't matter. He also stated "that there was no work to be performed in the airducts as I did not sign for that. That is why there was nothing done". I asked what that meant but no response. Vents were not covered to prevent entry, the plastic mesh wiring that was used is not secured to the outside walls and still allows critter to enter. The company is unresponsive to any emails or calls. I did file a complaint with the BBB as well. On 8/30/24 Critter Control fraudulently charged my credit card $640. This was done without my consent, approval or knowledge in which I have filed a complaint with my banking institution. I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring this company. DONT NOT USE THIS BUSINESS FOR ANIMAL REMOVAL. All I needed was raccoons removed from my attic as I am having my house renovated. They quoted me $3700 to remove animals, repair their entry point, and found other things in my property to try and "fix" for me. I explained all I needed was for the animals removed and that was it. According to their policy you can't just have the animals removed for $300 you have to pay for them to repair your home $499, so a minimum of $800. They wont just remove the animals. I received 4 opinions on my rat problem. 3/4 opinions were that there is some activity but nothing major. Whitney's (Critter Control Rep) opinion was that my house is in the top-15 worst that she has ever seen and that I need to spend $13k to handle my problem. After 4600.00 I still do not know but the dropping on my window sill are back. I still would need to pay 299.00 twice for them to warranty the service. We eventually got our problem fixed after many weeks and months of calls and having the crew come back before finally, they solved the problem. Because the previous Crew had not went on one side of the attic to inspect properly there was a point of entry left off of the exclusion where some particularly tenacious rodents decided they would continue to enter and feed and shelter themselves all winter long. It was not until March 2018 when we finally resolved the problem after so many trips back and forth, again, phone calls, rescheduled appointments. These guys did, however, eventually make it right. They installed a concrete "rat wall" in the crawl space and were diligent about coming back to make sure the job was done, considering our grievances. I will recommend these guys, but perhaps lesson learned here is if you feel like something is not right, do not give in. Let them know so they can keep coming and find the problem until it's resolved. At least they took the effort to continue and finally solve the equation of these menacing little creatures whom we just couldn't seem to shake. read more

Since I contacted late last year the response to phone calls have required multiply phone calls to get on the schedule. Caution Do not do business with these people. They lie cheat and steal. They convinced my wife our house was infested with rats. I was a fool and went along with it. I paid 3241 dollars and they did do some " exclusion work" They have also sent workers out to do "warranty" work. Every one contradicts the last and I still have the problem. No one has EVER come back out OR called to schedule a service check. The visit I scheduled and waited a month for back in February of 2018, no one ever showed up. And then put you on an insane wait list for "warranty" check-ups when the service isn't done as it should be. I spent $8000 for the "whole house" treatment to remove rats in my attic. The initial treatment crew was ok, however the follow up and customer service has been horrible. With any pest control situation, you expect that there will be a need for follow up because you can't get rid of everything with one treatment. About 3 weeks after the initial treatment, I heard rats scratching in the wall so I called to schedule a follow up. They couldn't come out for 2 weeks and the guys who showed up tried to make me think I was crazy. They said there's no way rats could still be anywhere near my house but they set some traps in the crawl space and told me to call them if I smelled something dead. Unacceptable! I told the guy that was not a good plan and he told me to throw my cat in the crawl space and let him eat the dead rat. Then he laughed at me and left. I was in shock! I called the company and asked to speak to a manager and was told "they are all out sick or on vacation". After many attempts to reach a manager, I finally spoke to a "scheduling manager" who was rude and completely out of touch with any sense of customer service. I finally had to threaten legal action before someone else called me back - still not a manager. He promised to send another person out to recheck. The next day another person came to check my house. Once again, he tried to make me seem like I'm crazy and told me there's no way rats were still anywhere around my house. He installed a Ring camera to monitor the traps to make sure there was no activity. Today, they came out to uninstall the Ring camera and check the traps. Sure enough, there was a dead rat caught in one of the traps. He tried to hide it from me, but I stood there and watched them as they quickly threw it in a garbage bag. I wish I had checked the reviews before throwing my money away. Now I have to hire someone else to take care of the issue. We should all get a class action lawsuit against them. read more

Shady sketchy liars. They came to my house to remove a bird trapped in my chimney, they would charge $800 for that. But then, they said I had a rat problem in my attic and asked how long I have had it. Well, I had no rat or mice in my attic. We went to check the attic and there was no indication of rat or mice activity, no tunnels in my insulation or poop or trails at all. They said they would have to spray the attic to kill the rat odor so raccoons would stop trying to break into my attic. Because raccoons wanted to eat the rat babies. They made a long big story to scare me, saying that rats would get out of the attic and come into my house and kill my little dogs etc etc. Their "treatment" would cost about $6,700. I called two other pest control companies. They said there was nothing to "treat" because there's no rat or mice activity in my attic at all. They could not find any pest problem at all. I mean not even one mouse or any pest at all. Or any feces. Even if there was only one mouse. There would be some evidence. But there was nothing. Rats or mice don't stay in one corner for days. There would be feces all over my attic and trails in the insulation. I cannot believe a big company like Critter Control would make up stories and lie deliberately. I just posted my review on Google and found out other persons were scammed the same way. Unbelievable. Critter Control denied those reviews were from real customers. I have attached a pic of their proposal. Critter Control: Look up my records. You came to my house on August 6, 2015.
