Next to the saint Laurent river, great view on the terrace. First time I tried brunch and this time I tried the dinner. The food is great and l love the bread with the special dipping sauces. The staffs were very friendly and the service was good. I will come again with my friends and family. Love the environment and atmosphere.

This isn't just a breakfast and brunch spot. They have an extensive menu featuring dishes with strong Italian themes, lots of pasta, veal scalopinni, fried calamari, mussels, grilled meats, steaks and French desserts. Their weeknight dinner menu specials are pretty sweet. How many places these days offer you salad or soup starter, steak and fries at $16.95? There's also Sole Meuniere, lasagna, and salmon. Go for the $30 monthly dinner special (changes each month) and that gets you a soup AND salad, main (choices include mussels, shrimp, lobster, steak, veal), dessert of your choice (including chocolate mousse, creme brulee, creme caramel or decadent cakes and tea or coffee. Smart marketing.

Getting brunch in Montreal seems like the right thing to do. While leaving two members of our traveling party to finish their final papers at the AirBnB we were staying at, the rest of our party had stumbled upon this establishment. I thus had my first direct experience in the Francophone sphere by way of our bilingual wait staff, as well as the older patrons that were having brunch here at the same time as we were. I felt so fancy! When in French Canada, eat French food! I ordered a sandwich doré, essentially a French toast sandwich with an egg and ham in the middle, topped with fresh fruit and Swiss cheese. The menu looked like it had a bunch of great options, and I'd definitely love to stop by here again. Our outdoor seating had us near a lovely view of a river with several boats docked, and thus I could understand why we were surrounded by the elderly enjoying brunch on a Wednesday morning.

    Pasta of the day special

Stopped in for a little date night with my girl in the area, unknown to my self I had eaten here many moons ago as a kid visiting my mimi. When we arrived it was a pretty glint day but the weather has started to warm up so the views that we got of the water along the canal were great. From Sunday to Thursday they run a special for dinner where you can get a soup/salad main dish and coffee for 17$. We decided to go with the special meal of the day offered in this promotion which was a chicken and prosciutto rose pasta along with an entree order of mussels. Before we even decided on what to order we were brought a couple of pieces of bread and some bruschetta toppings to make ourselves and then some bread and tomato sauce. This is a nice upgrade from your usual bread and butter/oil combo. The promotional meal had a choice of salads and the ceaser that we got was very good with the exception of the bacon being a little to hard and making it bit of challenge to eat. The mussels were cooked perfectly and weren't overpowered by the marinara sauce they were cooked in. The pasta was cooked nicely and had a good balance of toppings. To end the night we had a baileys coffee and tiramisu, the highlight was the coffee as the edges of the tiramisu were a little to congealed for my liking. Overall a great place and I'd love to come back in the summer to see that view of the water with breakfast !

First resto experience in Verdun, this is beyond my expectations ;) nice view and friendly waiters. Love the mussels. Large portion for a fair price. Calamaris are also good.

The food is very ordinary. Nothing special so don't expect too much from it. The staff were friendly and our waiter was very nice. The best thing about this restaurant is the location and the view, as it is right next to the river. There is also free parking so if you come by car you can be sure to find a place.

Really cool place by the water in Verdun. They are right across a Marina and have a huge parking available. It really is a prime location for a sunny, family Sunday stroll since the restaurant is right next to plenty of kids playground (to evacuate the energy they accumulate after eating) and right next to cycling path. As an eggs Benedict aficionado, I was not disappointed by the variety. I mean this place has so much dishes you have no choice but to come back. Really happy with the discovery, will definitely return.

Salad from table d'hote. Quite nice and refreshing

Discover this restaurant for the first time. It's just right by the river in Verdun. Totally hidden from the up and coming restaurants in Wellington st. The inside is very nice and pleasant. I.e. not out dated. Recommended to make a reservation if you want to eat by the terrace. The table d'hote from Sunday to Thursday is what I go for. Great price and good portions.

They really take their diner credentials seriously. They served my tea in a Fireking Jadeite cup and saucer straight out of the1950's. I know because ever since Martha Stewart started collecting the stuff, finding Fireking Jadeite pieces now is very difficult and prices have shot through the roof. The chrome fan, milkshake maker, chrome details around the bar, black and white photos of old Verdun and hanging plants also add to the retro vibe. Service was friendly and quick. They also give you a 15% discount if you go between 8-10am.

Even though cheese doesn't agree with me, I am always willing to accept the consequences because the mushrooms, cheese, and sweet bell pepper coulis are absolutely delicious. We both ordered oat milk lattes which were beautifully served at the perfect temperature. The waitstaff was excellent as always. The only fly in the otherwise perfect soup, was the maître d who rudely shooed us from our table. At about 11:20, he told us that he had allowed us to stay for nearly three hours when really, two hours was the standard time a table could reasonably be held for any guests. In our rush to not cause anyone any trouble, we gathered our things and prepared to leave. It was then that I looked at my watch and realized that we hadn't even been there for two hours! In fact, I had time to leave Verdun, drive to Mile-End, do my grocery shopping and get home before my 3-hour meter even expired. It's unfortunate because we were having a lovely time until we were unceremoniously asked to leave. I'll still go back because the food is delicious. However, I will make sure to keep an eye on the time.

I could have done without the blue cheese, but I still loved it. I usually wouldn't order rotisserie chicken at a restaurant, but this was cooked perfectly. It was so juicy and tender. (Why it seems I only have 1 actual check-in for it is beyond my understanding, mayhaps it has been so long since my previous visits that I was still a newbie Yelper and thought check-ins were lame*...) My rating is actually 3.5 stars rounded up for just really super sweet service. *Check ins are not lame FYI ... I realized u could win badges, dukedoms and baronies and yes, even kingdoms when u do check in to places. Some places even offer a special Yelper treat (like 10% off or a free shot or 2 for 1 - if they actually honour it is a whole 'nother can of worms) when u check in. Plus it's kool to show a place u r it's regular ;) It's a kyoot lil bistro type set up with terrasse in the summer, a bit cramped-feeling, however nothing overwhelmingly claustrophobic. Slightly too many tables for the space but necessary due to popularity. What I really dig about this place is the local art work on display, gorgeous photographs framed and hanging from the walls may make you want to hover over stranger's tables to get a good look. There are 2 bathrooms which seem to serve the space appropriately, but make sure you knock! For some reason patrons here enjoy using the facilities with the door unlocked which caused a couple of embarassing moments for my friend when both bathrooms were occupied, yet not locked. Because it has been so long since my previous visits let's stick to yesterday's, which is more or less representative of a typical visit. We were greeted ever so sweetly and they let us choose a nice table near the window for 2. We checked the specials board: a must-do when you come here, nothing interested me, but my friend ordered the Frittata Special. I chose the Hummus entrée with veggies and pita because my appetite has been fairly absent these days. Our waiter was quite generous and offered me to have the coffee included in my friend's frittata special (because she only wanted the OJ included). The coffee was never refilled, but I couldn't complain really 'cuz I didn't hafta pay for it in the first place. My hummus entrée was quite generous in portion actually, thankfully because at 9$ it damn well better be. There were lotsa veggies on the plate too which I highly appreciated. The pita was ok nothing special, there was plenty of it, but I ended up eating more veggies than pita. The hummus, homemade if I understood correctly, is absolutely delicious, different from most hummus yet still very much enjoyable. The cucumber and peppers seemed a bit on the precut-or-about-to-go-bad variety imo, my friend said they were fine, but they were slightly too slimey to be fresh cut and/or fresh produce, I felt. Also they chopped these huge wedges of carrot which I didn't touch because they were way too thick to be tempting. Carrot sticks or baby carrots would be a better option. I remove a 1/2 star for this aspect of questionable freshness and oddly chosen cut of carrot. The rest of the menu didn't really interest me in the sense that I wouldn't willingly pay those prices for those menu items. There were very limited options under 10$ and all in the entrée section (so if you're not too hungry don't come here 'cuz there's not many affordable munchie type items). Lotsa sweet brunch options (pancakes crepes etc), not much in terms of bacon and eggs type stuff, if that's what you're looking for this isn't the place. So pricing and choices is where I remove a whole star. This is a place I don't mind going every once in awhile because service is great and the food tastes good, but the questionable freshness with those prices makes it so I don't want to come often and can't understand why people make this a regular choice when there are better, cheaper choices very nearby. I must add that I don't have much of a sweet tooth (and especially not for breakfast) so this brunch option may be more tantalizing for those who do.

While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn't quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it's possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher's cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent.
