I really enjoyed this place. Its located right by Rossoblu. Large indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of people were sitting around the live band to enjoy the music and beer. Good amount of TVs and board games too to get entertained. Would come back.

My friends and I decided to check this place after we had dinner. Firstly, it's such a beautiful space. There's an outside patio with seating and there's lots of tables inside too. It's super clean and really inviting. They have a lot of options for beers. My husband got the Neon Cylinders (sour) and I ordered a lager. Both were really good. Our servers were super nice and quick to take/give our orders. It's a great spot to hangout with friends. I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Spacious, friendly spot in the middle of DTLA with a great mix of beers on tap. I tried the DTLA IPA and the Classic City Lager--both were excellent, crisp, and super fresh. The patio is big, relaxed, and dog-friendly, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. No kitchen, but you can order food from nearby spots and it comes right to your table. Perfect place to hang out with friends or stop by for a casual pint and to watch a Dodger game. 4 stars as I need to come back again

Crowns & Hops Pilsner- perfect for summer

Came to have black-owned beer- Crowns & Hops at Creature Comforts! Beautiful open space, lots of seating, bomb beer and vibes, DJ was killing it! This might be one of my fave breweries for the summer. Already messaged all my friends and will be back with them!

The space is great, but the beers were lacking in flavor. I'll swing by again if I'm ever in the area.

Large patio area.

I just found out about Creatures of Comfort while doing a brewery hop with some friends in downtown LA. The beer is on point, Los Angeles has a lot of craft breweries now so if taste and variety of beer is your top preference when decided what brewery to visit in LA I can assure you they'll live up to expectations. The other thing i really like is the size of this location. The inside has some nice lounge like seating on the opposite sides of the bar, and outside. Very spacious patio area that's perfect for large groups like you'd see at Boomtown or Angel City. The service was great as well, about 30 of us showed up around 9pm on a Friday and the staff took care of everyone orders with no issue. Very friendly and welcoming. A great addition to the craft beer scene in LA.

Big open space indoors and outdoors. Parking may be a little difficult. Beers were good too

If you're nearby at the Santee alley and thirsty check this place out. Came by to have one for the road before heading home. Ordered a Tritonia sour cucumber and lime gose. Nice and crisp refreshing drink. Service was great not much of a wait. Open space and patio area to enjoy your drink. Has a few TVs for your viewing pleasure. There is also a beer to go fridge if you want to enjoy the Creature Comforts Brewing at home.

Two 5 oz pours of different stouts.

First time here. When we first arrived the line was not offensive...still long. Just two working behind the counter and a single file line. I ordered two stouts to try. Liked them. My guy ordered a sour passion fruit and guava. He really enjoyed. So much so that he wanted a second pour and maybe some to go. We waited for the line to die down, but it just grew longer. They definitely left money on the table because we couldn't have been the only people discouraged by the wait. More staff, different ordering procedures (maybe QR codes at the table?) While the beers were delicious, I do recommend, but be prepared go a 25-30 min wait. You see that line. It wraps around.

A good half the time I come down here, this place is just randomly closed. Today is one of those days. There's no sign, nothing -- the place is just shut tight. The security guard says that every Friday, the open at noon, but today, they're closed. People are inside working, but they're closed. Why even bother patronizing a place like this that doesn't bother keeping regular hours? They're open when they feel like it. Luckily there's so much to do in the vibrant neighborhood they're located in, right? Oh, wait -- they're in the middle of the Garment District netherworld, with nothing around. Congratulations, Creature Discomforts. You're officially the worst brewery in L.A.

Came here early for a beer day with friends. This is a Really fun and spacious brewery in the fashion district of downtown LA. Plenty of metered street parking, and there's also valet but I think it's for the restaurants located in the area. This spot has a good selection of beers, fun and friendly staff, board games, and the mandatory cornhole sets. An even bigger plus it's dog friendly.

Sherry T.

Cool, relaxed brewery with warehouse vibes. They had a good variety of beers and you could get 5 oz to try a few. I do not recommend coming here when the fashion district sells clothes on the street. Free street parking on a Sunday was hard to come by. I'm sure when the area is quiet, it's easy to find parking. I would come back if I was nearby. The Fashion District area is a bit grungy though. I'm still puzzled how this city market south hipster area is still around since I don't find the Italian or Latin American restaurants that outstanding.

Amazing edition to the DTLA brewery scene! Georgia brewery that took several years to open up this space. Indoor / outdoor venue that shares a courtyard with a coffee shop, bocce ball court, and other businesses. Large selection of taps with everything from IPAs to lagers to sours. Beautiful venue, taproom, and nice, clean bathrooms. Friendly staff with easy credit card & pay system. Bring your own food (for now) although there is a pizza joint in the courtyard that opens at 5pm daily. As others mentioned, street parking available and not the nicest part of DTLA, but will definitely be back to hang out and try many more of their tasty beers. Welcome to the neighborhood!

The loft tables have one set above each table! If you want to play a game while you drink and chat, they have a nice array available to borrow. While Lawless is strictly a brewhouse pub, w/o a kitchen, they do host a rotating schedule of food trucks and vendors, or you can bring your own food in. We saw one table unpack and set up a charcuterie board for their drinking/snacking, socializing group of 8. How cool! With a wide variety of house beverages on tap, Lawless is a great space for gatherings, hanging out, socializing and just plain ol' good vibing. We were here for a trivia tournament, but the pub was popping with many others who regularly drink here. Check out their website and social media posts for current events like trivia, bingo, karaoke and even movie screenings! There are parking spaces in the private parking lot, otherwise street and neighborhood parking wasn't bad either. Pups are welcome, gender neutral bathrooms were clean, they also offer a water bottle filling station and complimentary cold water. Pups are also welcome! I'm tempted to pop on over to Republic of Pie, just up the street on Lankershim, grab a savory pie and bring it back to Lawless to enjoy with a crafted adult libation. Cheers! "CC"

It's a great place to gather and drink with friends and friendly strangers. It's bigger than you think, too, since besides the main room it has a mezzanine, a private room near the bathrooms, and an outdoor patio area. While they don't serve food, there are always food trucks or other food vendors there. I also love the community events they put on. And social clubs even have meetups here. It's just good vibes all around. And honestly, every beer I've had here has been amazing. I recently had a sour that I loved. They also have slushies and nonalcoholic drinks. Their NA mojito was great when they had it. Only tough part is the parking but if the lot is unavailable, there's usually street parking in the neighborhood or across Vineland at the meters. Please keep being you, Lawless! ily

We stopped by Alma's because there was a food pop-up outside, but ultimately stayed at the bar close to 10:00 p.m. Alma's cider offerings is extensive! In addition to ciders, they also have a wide variety of beers and wines, and other drink combos like boiler makers and snake bites. There's a small selection of bar bites as well on a separate menu, including corn nuts, sourdough bread with butter, cheeses, and various pickled veggies. Its an intimate setting that I think does best with its neighborhood bar environment and drinks for a first date but i wouldnt exactly bring all the girls here you know? I would say while they have food and snacks here its not their priority and a bit on the pricer side so I would say at the end of the day this place is a proper bar. Service was excellent, starting with Dylan who waited on us and was helpful, patient, and super friendly, as were the rest of the staff that chipped in throughout our visit. DRINK: Extensive German beer menu, but also cocktails, and non-alcoholic selections. We ordered a bottomless cup of Coffee ($4), a .4L Reissdorf Koelsch ($8.50), stein of Hacker Pschorr Weisse ($19), and a stein of Paulaner Oktoberfest ($19). FOOD: We started by sharing a Sausage Platter ($17) which came with 3 sausages, 3 mustards, and some sliced pickles. For our entrees, we tried the Beef Rouladen ($26) served over mashed potatoes, and the Jäger Schnitzel ($28), served with 2 sides. NOTE: The schnitzel was $5 more than shown on the menu. I asked about their Spaztel which the chef said was one of their specialties. He brought us a small sample, and it was delicious! We finished it off with Apple Strudel with Vanilla Ice Cream ($12.50). The flavors were very good, although some of the preparations were a little different than I'm used to. I'm half German and my mother is full, so we think we know German cuisine very well. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be heading back for more!

As a true Berliner, I was excited to see what this place had to offer, and I had pretty high…read moreexpectations. The first downside was the parking. Parking is scarce, and the only option we found was street parking, which can be inconvenient. When we arrived, the young woman seated us inside. The atmosphere was actually quite nice! There were lots of pictures of Berlin and German-themed decorations that created a fun German vibe. Another fun detail was that the staff dressed in traditional German attire. The men wore Lederhosen, and the women wore Dirndls. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing from the beginning. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table, even though the restaurant wasn't full. We also had to ask for water because it wasn't automatically offered. For my main course, I ordered the beef Kohlrouladen, a traditional German stuffed cabbage roll. I wanted to substitute the mashed potatoes for fried potatoes, but the waitress initially told me they didn't allow substitutions. She had to check with the kitchen and eventually came back to say it was possible. My husband ordered the Prenzlauer Burger. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, our food finally arrived. Unfortunately, the portions were on the small side, especially considering the prices. My husband's burger was pretty standard, but it was very dry. Another downside was that the burger doesn't even come with fries -- you have to pay extra to add them as a side. Considering the already high prices and the small portions, I found that disappointing. My husband had to order extra sauce because the burger was so dry. Surprisingly, they didn't even have ranch dressing, so he ended up ordering Thousand Island dressing and blue cheese sauce. The burger itself tasted more Americanized than German, which was disappointing given the restaurant's German theme. Unfortunately, the service made things worse. The staff completely forgot about his extra sauces, and I had already finished eating by the time he finally received them so he could enjoy the rest of his burger. My Kohlrouladen was also quite dry, and the potatoes were dry as well. However, the red cabbage was really good! I also ordered a side of cucumber salad, which was delicious and one of my favorite things we ate. As a Berliner, I found the cucumber salad and red cabbage to be the most authentic-tasting dishes of our meal. The other dishes didn't quite meet my expectations for German food. My husband also ordered ginger beer, but when he looked at the label, he noticed that it didn't actually contain ginger. He was disappointed by that. That was a real downer. I ordered an Apfelschorle, a refreshing German drink made with apple juice and sparkling water, and I enjoyed it. The Apfelstrudel Was Worth the Wait! For dessert, we ordered the Apfelstrudel, and we had to wait another 15 minutes. But this time, the wait was absolutely worth it! The Apfelstrudel was amazing. It tasted genuinely authentic, and the presentation was beautiful. At $12.50, I would definitely recommend ordering it if you visit this restaurant. It was one of the highlights of our meal and a lovely way to finish dinner. And then came an unexpected surprise! As we were nearing the end of our visit, a man came over to our table and started playing music and singing the chicken song with accordion. It was such a fun, unexpected moment that added a cheerful atmosphere to the restaurant. After some of the frustrations with the service and food, this little performance gave us a happy ending to our anniversary dinner! My Final Verdict: 3 Out of 5 Stars Overall, the restaurant wasn't terrible, but it wasn't particularly impressive either. The atmosphere was enjoyable, the German decorations were charming, and the traditional outfits worn by the staff were a nice touch. However, the slow service, long waits, dry main courses, small portions, extra charges for fries, and relatively high prices took away from the experience. As a true Berliner German, I came in with high hopes. I appreciate the effort to create a German atmosphere, and the restaurant certainly has potential. However, I would love to see more authentic German flavors, better execution of the traditional dishes, and more attentive service. My food highlights were the cucumber salad, red cabbage, and especially the Apfelstrudel. The dessert was worth every penny, and the live musical entertainment gave us a fun, memorable ending to our evening. We visited Kiez Küche and Beer Garden to celebrate our wedding anniversary. While the food didn't completely live up to my expectations as a Berliner, the atmosphere, the delicious Apfelstrudel, and the unexpected chicken song gave us something to smile about on our special day. It wasn't quite the authentic German dining experience I had hoped for, but at least we ended the evening on a happy note! We paid $90 for everything.
