It's hit and miss here, depending on who does the work. Every time I come in, it's a different price for a pedicure depending who is at the reception desk. I have been going to creative nails for 9 years and I have always had the best service! I see women I know from the Diamond head neighborhood there and the same employees. I get the deluxe pedicure occasionally because it lasts so long. I have had my acrylics done every few weeks for over five years by Christine and she is by far the best !! I will never go to another nail salon. The salon is very clean, bright, open air, an in a great location (next to Bogarts, who have the best açaí bowls in Hawaii. I was extremely disappointed in my visit to this establishment. For years living in Kapahulu area, I have occasionally came to Creative Nails to get my nails done and were always happy with the services I have gotten and the service in general from the technicians. However, my most recent visit to creative nails was anything but up to my previous expectations. A week prior to the appointment, I had made an appointment for my friends and I to get our nails done before I head off to school on the mainland. We were receiving 3 gel manicures, 1 regular manicure, and 1 regular pedicure. I made sure to inform them of the services as I know that when it comes to services like pedicures and gel features, they like to be aware of them ahead of time. However, upon (on time) arrival we walk in and it is PACKED. They look at us and basically looked like we had no business there. I had mentioned that we had an appointment several times and one gal rolled her eyes at us and directed us to seats accordingly. They did not reference any type of book mind you when stating our appointments. I had my friends get there services get done first and I waited until after they were all completed to get my nails done. Typically, this would not bother me as I am fairly relaxed but when I make an appointment in advance, I make those in the hopes that we will be getting services that we reserve. On top of that, the salon was uncomfortably quiet and no one talked to us or even smiled. We are a group of "younger" girls but they did treat us slightly more hostile than the other customers. On the bright side, they did an amazing job on all of our services but that does not negate the fact on poor customer service that we received. read more

Weak! My pedicure was a bunch of slapping and empty pounding disguised as a massage. Very weak. I asked for a nail design, no flowers, so she glues 5 rhinestones to my big toe. Tacky, ugly and cheap to say the least. My manicure was even worse. My gels are lumpy and uneven. The woman was super rude and very short with me. Don't go here....smells like acrylic nails! I can't believe they haven't upgraded to gel. I went for the deluxe pedicure and I regretted it almost immediately. She put callus remover on plastic wrap and wrapped my feet within minutes my feet were burning. She took off the wrap, which actually ripped and I got a chemical burn. She proceeded to continue even though I was visibly in pain and had a burn. I realized she didn't speak English. After some pain faces another lady came and looked at it and told her to stop. First and last time to this place. My co-worker told me about this place so i decided to try it out for myself.Finding parking is hard here.Once entering the nail salon you notice that everything look cramp up and even if you set an appointment with them you can tell they didn't write it down. After filling the tub with water and going in they didn't ask is the water ok. They don't put anything in the water like some salon do. After handing the nail polish to the lady she didn't talk at all. I wasn't there that long too,they rush to do everything all at once she didn't even wash my feet good i had to point out the soap between my toes the massage was short it seem like she was just rubbing the lotion in after feeling my heel it seem the same.Over all I would let anyone go here. A full day later and I'm still so P.O.'d about my mani/pedi that it hit me at 2:30 in the A.M. to write a review. I usually write glorious, loving reviews and sharing my new finds and happy places with my fellow yelpers, however, this is NOT one of those reviews. Planning a girl date, a friend and I decided to get mani/pedis, so another friend of ours made appointments for us on Saturday. We made it right on time and good thing too, almost every seat in the house was taken. We popped into our spa chairs and prepared to relax. Uh-oh. My friend's spa chair isn't massaging. We try and mention it. Ignored. Boo. Haha. Oh well, she had just had a real deal massage that morning, so we shrug it off and get our feet a soaking. A girl came to me right away and started trimming my toenails and brushing my feet. Nothing out of the ordinary, except they forgot my friend who also had an appointment at 12. I had been flipping thru magazines and didn't realize until she said something a good 20 minutes later. Eventually, someone did come and start working on her. Ok, now we've got the train a rolling. The massage was nice. I also liked the exfoliating scrub before the rub down. I thought this pedi was going swimmingly AND then it hit me. She never pumiced or really even scrubbed my feet. The most callous removing action they even got was a fistful of blue scrubby gel....not gonna cut it. My feet aren't horrible Raptor claws with gnarly talons by any means, but if I'm paying for you to do something I could do at home, bring out some heavier equipment. And I definitely expect some callous removal. By the time I started to say something she was already smacking the heck out of my legs. It was almost violent. I'm annoyed, but I blow it off. I had picked out 2 colors. This place is called Creative Nails, so I thought I'd be creative and go with yellow nails and orange tips. Yay! Summer toes! The lady looked at me like I said I wanted her to do it blindfolded in an off road Jeep while a dolphin drove when I explained it to her. She made it overly clear to me that this was going to cost $7 extra and tried to use that to steer me away from that and towards these nutso intense Japanish flower designs. No. I stand firm. I want yellow and orange sunshine nails please. So she starts. First, she globs orange paint on my big toenail tips and the two next to them. Then she starts smearing yellow all over. I really do mean all over. I am almost too shocked for words at what I really bad job she is doing. Another lady comes over, looks, says something to her in another language and them smiles at me. The girl then starts taking it off. Sorry is all she says. She starts again. She does it better. Yellow first, then the orange on the tips. Ok, this time it looks better. I'm okay with that. After that, they pull me out of my chair and pop me into manicure station. I'd say it was an Eh to Average manicure. She could of at least put that blue scrubby gel on my hands before she massaged them. Now, this is where it goes from a mediocre mani/pedi to the worst one I've ever had. Stop reading if it's too much kids! I tell her I want to do my fingers kinda like my toes and that I want to see how it looks opposite. Orange with yellow tips. Let me tell you, I don't know if I was high off the fumes or what, because it doesn't look good. It also doesn't look good when it looks like a blind toddler with the shakes did them. OH and between slopping gobs of paint on all my nails (I told her I didn't like the color scheme after the first nail but she didn't listen...I said I think it'd look better just all orange, but she couldn't be stopped) and all over my cuticle beds she managed to bust out some disco ball top coat and put it all over my toenails, which most definitely took away from the cuteness of summer nails. I also said no to the glitter twice and got IGNORED. Besides, it was already too late she had already ruined my big toe. :( She also INSISTED on slapping that disco crap on my manicure too so it looked like I had glittery candy corns instead of nails. Oh yea and I made her redo the tips THREE times because they were crooked, sloppy, uneven, or just look plain terrible. She looked surprised every time I pointed out a mistake in the paint job. I eventually gave up and just let her do whatever she felt like doing because it seemed like that's about as much as was going to happen. All in all, never again. They didn't listen to me. My friend had an equally bad experience (her lady kinda pretended she didn't hear her about doing her toenail tips a different color and then said "no, too much. Not look good with too much"). I also feel like if I pay for pedicure, SCRUB my damn feet and if I pay for a manicure, PAINT A STRAIGHT LINE, especially when you charge $7 more dollars to do it. I literally went directly to Long's and bought, polish remover and polish remover and repainted my nails in the parking lot. I guess my toes look ok enough. :/ read more

Great foot massage, beautiful and creative nail designs, and a very friendly and hard-working staff. They do get very busy on the weekends, but they are the best pedicure in town!! read more

My sister and I came here to get our eyebrows waxed and expected nothing more than the typical wax and trim. However, the lady who did my eyebrows took her time and did a very diligent job, cleaning them up and making sure they were even. Would definitely recommend for an eyebrow wax!! read more

I'm a bit confused with all the bad reviews this place is getting... Lets be honest no matter what nail place you go to they will be talking in vietnamese, yea its rude but did you go there to care about that or to get a nice mani/pedi.. I personally think this is one of the cleanest places to get your nails done, so I can't believe that people actually haven't noticed that, if you go kaimuki area you will find places that are dirty, unsanitary and discausting.. I enjoy their way of doing my nails so precisely, they do try and upsell you things but then tell me one nail salon the won't? The service is ok, I don't have much to complain about them at all, everyone knows what they are doing.. Even once when I got there right before they were closing they really didn't mind taking me, and they still did a wonderful job on my nails, so I bought 2 gift certificates for my grandma and friend... Decent place for the price, but they are super pushy about upgrading to the deluxe pedicure. I said no twice and the lady asked me why I said no. I explained why and then said fine, give me the deluxe. I should have just gone with the $20 spa pedicure instead of the $35 deluxe. It was not worth it. They did however seat us at our reservation time. They didn't have a very big color selection and very few OPI, she rushed through it, was not very nice, the polish job was bad, and made me get up immediately after I was done. I made an quick appointment with owner with this place before I visit that day. I was told hand gel and regular pedicure is $45 when I make an appointment. So I went in and therapist lady told me it's $60. I showed conversation screen to employee and we had some argument (?) but they were ok with $45... i didn't feel good at the time of course when I was told different price when I went in store since I was told price will be $45...not $60. I didn't want to have such a embarrassing conversation middle of the store ... lol I am not sure if it's just discount price for yelper or owner maybe be told me different price. Their nail technique was great ! I don't have any complain for that. Food massage was pretty good and relaxing but will be great if employee take care of customer's "personal space" lol there was many chairs for pedicure but every customer had to sit right next to each other, it was good if there wasn't people sitting next to me when store is empty ... it kind of bothered me having relaxing time. Also it was kind of funny to see guy hand nail technician sometimes watches TV at the same time as doing my hand nail cutting. It was bit scary. Overall 3/5. Price is cheap. it's not clean and they keep trying to up sell you more service just like any other cheap nails salon. I usually go to Mini Pedi at the mall price is much higher but it's very clean and all the tools they use is seal in a bag. well what you pay what you get! just don't get your hopes up then you don't feel as bad! read more

After going here I am hesitant to write a review because I like to walk in without an appointment! The staff was friendly and they did a great job. I did the gel mani regular pedi combo. I usually don't get pedicures because I have sensitive feet and am usually in pain. This pedicure was fantastic with no pain, no cuts.
