Decided to try a new place for waxing/shaping my eyebrows and I am happy that I found this place through yelp! It was also easy to book through the varago? Vargo? app and select the services. Convenient location and great reviews! It's in the same building as the musubi place and you can park on the side of the building - I didn't know there was extra parking besides the ones fronting the businesses. It's upstairs, right next to nueve salon and you can park in unmarked stalls or the ones that are marked for nueve salon. Lisa was so nice and friendly. Also efficient and I liked that she explained what she was going to do before and after. I did eyebrows and full face wax, it was also the first time I waxed my nose hairs lol. Got confused at first because there were two doors under the Nueva Salon and Spa sign and I first went through the salon side which was closer to the end corner. Had a great experience with Lisa! LISA is probably the most nicest esthetician I've encountered. I got the brazilian and it was far from being painful. Literally! She did not double dip and used a new wax strip every time. I've been adhering to COVID safety guidelines, so when choosing a waxing service I wanted to make sure I'd feel safe and comfortable during my service, and I'm so happy Self Beauty Studio checked all the boxes! I booked via IG (@selfbeautystudiohi) and was sent a COVID questionnaire and some waivers prior to my appointment. When I arrived (she is located within Nueve Salon and Spa) I was the only guest in the studio, and got let in by Lisa who is the owner and esthetician of Self. She took my temperature, made sure I filled out the proper info prior to beginning service, and brought me to the service room. Being that her business is just starting the room is very simple and clean; her backbar station is neat and includes hand sanitizer and a sink. The service was quick and relatively painless - I was very happy with the results, and commented on how moisturized my skin felt compared to previous waxes where my skin felt dry or raw afterwards. I highly recommend giving Lisa a try, especially if she has a special going on (I've seen them occasionally on her IG). read more

Self Beauty Studio is one of the few places I have gone to for self care since the start of the Pandemic. The studio space was so clean and bright! I had my lower legs, under arms, and brows done and it was amazing! Lisa is an expert waxer who works super fast and efficiently. I have particularly hard hairs to pull because my hair is blonde to the point of almost invisible and she didn't miss any! Very easy to book appointments via her website. The day of my appointment there was some construction being done in front of her business. She sent me a text a few hours before my scheduled time with a picture of the blocked off area. She informed me that I would still be able to park in the parking lot located either in front of or on the side of the building. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness.
