Groupon- My appointment was scheduled for 11:00 am. I received a text at 9:40 am with pictures of building, parking instructions, passcode to building and a note that she was not tolerant of customers who were late. I arrived at 10:39 am. Passcode did not work. I notified her and she text me same passcode and how to reset door. It still did not work. I notified her and she said she would come get me. At 11:02 am, I heard a deadbolt unlock and she opened the door and abruptly said she would not have time to complete my service. We had a heated conversation then at 11:09 a woman magically opened the door came forward to her and the merchant took her into her booth. I was so humiliated. Do not purchase a Groupon for this merchant. Seems she has a pattern of not honoring them. read more

I bought a Groupon for lash and tinting then the day of I got canceled an hour before my appt due to an emergency that they had. Perfectly fine! I tried to reschedule but no response few days later again nothing no response. If you don't want to honor your Groupon clients or get clientele from Groupon take your listing off. I bought a Groupon for this place a while back and scheduled for an appointment right before I left the island. The scheduling system was easy to navigate and and there was a lot of availability. The text messages I got on the day of the appointment made real easy to find this place. Otherwise you would have a hard time. The esthetician Erica was very easy to talk to, and the procedure was quick and less painful. She also made a note on my account that I had a laser hair removal so I can get discounted pricing of $32 for the next time, if I ever come back to the island! Bought the groupon and decided to try out this place! Erika was great! She was very personable and made me feel comfortable. First appointment was good... after that - it all went downhill. I pre-purchased services at a discounted special on the day of my initial appt. Scheduled a follow-up appt for Aug 16, which I needed to reschedule for Aug 25. Hurricane Lane came that week - So I texted to reconfirm my appt on Aug 24, just to see if the salon was going to be open. Erika texted me back that that all appt were cancelled until further notice. Morning of Aug 25th, Erika texted that salon was open, storm had passed, and to let her know when I wanted to reschedule. Texted on Sept 6, Sept 15, Sept 18, Sept 19, emailed on Sept 19, called and left a voicemail on Sept 20. Finally had to file a complaint with BBB on Sept 20. Finally got a text back from Erika on Sept. 30 - that I can "feel free to take legal action..." when I requested a refund of the amount I prepaid for, for services not rendered. WOW - Not cool UPDATE: 11/09/18 - Just got a response from BBB that Erika continues to argue that I cancelled my 2nd appt and refuses my request for a refund for services not rendered and then attacking my character by leaving replying with a comment about me, the client, taking advantage of "niceness." Came here to get a Brazilian wax. As my usual place was booked. I used a groupon. I decided to do my arm pits as well just because it was only $5 to add on. It is super easy to get to and there is free parking. Erika texted me the instructions on how to get there and made my experience seamless and stress free. Her room is super cute and clean. The bed is comfy and she uses hard wax so it isn't that painful. She is very friendly and we had good conversation so my appointment went fast. She gives you witch hazel to apply after the waxing. Got a Groupon. Then I happen to buy another Groupon (it says one per person in the fine print). Then when I tried to go to my second booking and it was a disaster. And honestly I don't remember the first time so probably wasn't that memorable or great. It doesn't say "one person per lifetime" but when you try to book your appointment online it confirms by someone texting you back. And that is where it gets really unprofessional. After I mentioned groupon like Groupon says to; she (person texting back) is very quick and has a lot of attitude. She quotes you more money than the Groupon was and then said "I won't accept it (your Groupon)" and "If you want to keep using Groupon you can go to other waxers out there". Was just the beginning. She ended up canceling my appt and telling me to return it bc she can't return it for me. She was so quick to misunderstand it's a wonder she is still doing business at all. And then she started to say it was because I was "dishonest" with her when I told her people should know how you do business. It's been 2 years since my first appointment and I am still going to Erika for my Brazilian wax, she is the only esthetician I trust! I have become a loyal customer :) I am hooked and I'm never ever going back to shaving. Erika always makes me feel comfortable during my appointment, I'm so use to waxing I barely feel pain anymore. First and foremost, I'm not one to complain or EVER leave a negative review but I was in complete shock after my encounter with Erika at HNL lash. Long story short, I got lost and couldn't find the building and texted AND CALLED HER before my appointment. She proceeded to text me (not even give me a call back) to tell me that I was 10 min too late for my appointment and I'd have to reschedule. It was 12 min after my appointment time even though I TEXTED AND CALLED her to try and find directions BEFORE my appointment. She told me "I was with a client so she couldn't answer the phone." Erika texted me before the appointment with very detailed instructions on how to get to the salon and where to park, extremely helpful and was easy enough to find with her instruction. This is an update. After going to Erika regularly for a while now, there are a few things that should have been red flags for me. The first being how long it takes for her fills...I have gotten a full set in about an hour by other great lash artists, while it takes her about 3 hours. My fills take about 2+ hours. She was nice though, so I kept going back because I figured she was still learning and needed time to grow. (It's been over a year and the time allotment is the same). The second red flag would be the spontaneous cancellations and her reasons. On more than a few occasions, I would show up for my appointment and she would tell me I'd have to reschedule or come back at a different time. One time she even told me that I was in her appointment book (double booked) and she figured it was a mistake and just ignored my appointment and went to town to pick up a friend. She didn't even bother to call me to confirm. Another time, she told me she lost her phone and couldn't communicate with another for almost a week. So all her appointments were non-existent. This last time, she texted me one evening asking me to reschedule to the following day, at the same time as my normal appointment (I work during the day and have to arrange for my toddler to be picked up); she wanted to go on a spontaneous trip to Maui. That was fine. I agreed and on my way to my appointment, I get a text from her asking if I could come during my work day (obviously past that time, since I was at work). I tried calling her and texting her and she did not respond even though her "flight" was a few hours later. Zero response. She basically has not responded to me since. No apology or reason for her lack of response. I had rearranged my schedule for absolutely nothing (mind you, I'm also 9 months pregnant). If you have no job or commitments, I would say that Erika is a nice person (the reason for the 2 stars), but her work ethic is horrible and she takes forever to do a fill. I made the mistake of feeling bad for her and continuing to try support her. I even referred friends, but they all have the same issues. Hopefully in the future, her work ethic improves and she grows up a bit. read more

This is long overdue...but Erika is truly the best in the business for eyelash extensions. She is meticulous, clean and my eyes look amazing. It almost looks like my natural lashes but longer and fuller. I feel fabulash with just lashes and no make up. Also, my extentions last FOREVER! When I first walked in, it was pretty empty, but I got greeted at the door by the workers. I signed in at 3:20pm and patiently waited for my appointment at 3:30pm, but I was called in much earlier, which is definitely a PLUS! I came in for a full Brazilian wax that I purchase on Groupon. I am currently pregnant and this was my very first time ever getting wax down there. Erika, was super nice and friendly. Prior to my appointment she texted me the location, which is very helpful and useful. The waxing room was clean, organize and sanitary. I work in the health field and that is DEFINITELY important for your clients/patients to see. Before she waxed, she tells you to wipe your genital area, undress from waist down and to relax. I recommend ladies to wear either a dress or skirt so it's easily to lift up. During the whole process she talks to you, makes you feel comfortable just to ease and distract you from the pain. She does tell you in the beginning if it starts to get sore or painful, you can tell her to take a break in between. Gladly I did not need to and was able to tolerate the pain. I got a Brazilian done through Groupon. When I visited the website to schedule my Brazilian I added on underarm waxing. Somehow it didn't schedule my appointment for enough time to complete the services in a comfortable manner. I felt rushed as soon as she was done, to hurry up and get out cause she was 10 minutes late for her next appointment. While I was cleaning myself up I found a few chunks of wax still stuck to my lady Parts where I could not see without a mirror. She did not have an available mirror which is kind of odd for a service provider such as this one. The waxing service itself was swifter than other waxing places I have used. What the skin of my lady parts was for 3 to 4 days after service.. Which I have never experienced before ever. Keep in mind that I usually do my own Brazilian.
