I checked in about a month later and he said he was ordering a part. I checked in again after another month or so and he said the part was on backorder. Fast forward, 18 months went by and I never got an update. I am moving now, so I came to collect the watch. After digging through several boxes, Ree pulled out the watch, held together with scotch tape. The case had a massive gouge in the side and the movement was missing screws. I confronted him about this and he simply denied doing anything to it, despite the fact he had obviously at least opened it and taken a look at it to be able to order the part he told me he was ordering. I hate posting this because Ree is about 100 years old now. But to save people the same fate I suffered, I feel obligated to warn that Ree is no longer capable of doing this.

So many repair shops either didn't want to bother or quoted a ridiculous, "eff-off" price just to send a message that they didn't want to work on them. He did not. Very knowledgeable and friendly "nerd" owner with a great, customer-oriented attitude. And he underpriced the competition by almost half! (My suspicion is that the others break a lot of screens doing this repair, so they build in the cost of making a mistake into their price; whereas he is careful enough and uses methods to not break the screen so as to not need to build the cost of his mistakes into the price.) FWIW, I have high standards, sometimes think I know too much, and can ask too many questions. Mike indulged me on all questions regarding a simple iPad repair and then some. (Other repair shops didn't want to talk about their methods or ideas). Cleaned my iPhone port for free, too! Very good communication of the risks and options for the iPad repair. We have one daughter who is almost 2 and we've been at Stepping Stone since I returned to work…read moreafter my maternity leave. We've had wonderful experiences with Stepping Stone--the teachers (our favorite it Ms. Teresa) and the director have always been good at communicating and reliable. We feel comfortable that they are taking excellent care of our daughter, and will soon be caring for our little boy who is on the way. I've noticed that there's been very little turn over or change of staff since we've been there (which is not always the case for other child care centers) so I think they're doing something right over there from an employee point of view too. All the teachers are kind and patient and our daughter has always enjoying going to Stepping Stone. I've seen other people mention issues with the waiting list process. I think part of the issue is that this location is so small and in such high demand because if you live in the neighborhood (this location is an old converted house), it's wildly convenient and walkable. As soon as we were added to the waiting list--probably 8/9ish months ahead of our desired start date--we were told that we would eventually get into this location, but because of space and enrollment constraints we might need to spend sometime a another, bigger campus and wait until there was a spot for us to transfer. Not ideal, but it's a small campus and we've had such a good experience here that I wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing again even with the possibility of the minor inconvenience of spending some time at another location. When something is high demand, there's usually a good reason. And we've think Stepping Stone is great!

The staff here is incredible. We have never had a better daycare experience and that is after 3…read morekids and 5 different daycares in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. People think it's easy and intuitive to be a caregiver and it actually takes a lot of thought time and planning just to make sure each parent is happy and so are the kids at drop-off and pickup. And maybe we just don't notice how it is to get the kids back into shape right before they are picks up. I have never had anyone take care of our kids like you all do. Looking back at it only being a year since being here you have made us feel better than ever leaving our kids with you all and your staff.
