A few months ago, Greentek repaired our dryer, and most recently, they came out to assess a persistent annoying problem we've had with our washer. Greentek advised us the cost to repair the washer was higher than what we wanted to pay. (The amount of the repair and the amount we put into repairing it in the past was going to exceed the cost of a new washer.) So, we declined to have Greentek repair the washer and decided to buy a new washer. (Not a Samsung!) Both experiences were positive and we have no complaints with Greentek. They are prompt, professional, offer reasonable prices and do everything as agreed. Call them.

For this one, our 1951 home needed another HVAC to replace our 21 year old unit that leaked harder to get refrigerant. During my process I learned about a whole house rebate the city offered in addition to the AC unit rebate. Solution Finders is on the city of Austin's website. I learned of this business during the pre-inspection of our home to see if it qualified. And yes our leaky old house qualified with its old HVAC, minimal insulation and of course general leakage at doors, windows, etc. So I called Solution Finders. I spoke with company owner Alfonso several times. I also got bids from probably 8-10 businesses overall. Why? Because the rebate came into play once I thought I'd made my decision. During the pre-inspection I learned my current ac was probably not even the right size for our house. None of the previous bidders even thought to check size requirements! Alfonso came with his equipment and found we did indeed have the wrong size!!!! From there I knew I had the right service provider. Well that and that Alfonso was never in too big of a rush to talk to me and address my concerns. He and his company are very efficient and their teamwork and quality of work is the best I've ever experience. What surprised me most is that Alfonso was relatively young. Shortly after their service, our AC stopped working. The cause: tape they had applied around the UV light they installed had come loose. They came out, retaped it, and assured us this had never happened before. We gave them the benefit of the doubt. Some time later, the AC stopped working again. This time, the tape on the main plenum access had completely come loose -- again, their work, same issue. I was not willing to have them back in my home, so I called our own HVAC technician. He charged first to come out and then again to fix what their faulty taping caused. Their response? That they would have come fix it for free under warranty. That is not accountability. The point is that the same failure happened twice, and at no point did anyone take genuine responsibility for the disruption or the $400 I paid out of pocket. Instead I got defensiveness and a critique of my contractor's invoice. I deeply regret selecting them. Choose a company that gets it right the first time.

You tried to reach us during the lunch hour unsuccessfully and tried the exact same time the following day that is still during lunch. --I have called 4 times over the last three weeks, ranging from 11:20 AM and 3 PM - each time I was either told that no one was in the office who could run payment details but you could write it on a piece of paper (again the disrespect for for banking security my gosh.) or didn't I get an answer.
