I wasn't home when they showed up to clean the ducts, my boyfriend was. The person who showed up seemed to be having a rough day and seemed irritated to have to be there. It seemed like they cleaned the vents and did a decent enough job. I showed up about halfway through and when I got there he seemed to be in better spirits and friendlier. I asked some questions about concerns we had and maintenance and the man obliged in answering but was dismissive about it. The cleaning was fairly priced so I would recommend for regular maintenance but if you're wanting good attention to detail for something that's been left for a while you might want to shop around

I was a case-study in how NOT to maintain my dryer duct: It had been almost 20 years since it had been cleaned. We bought a new drier, which shut down due to restricted air flow. I had had a competitor come out the day before Omer's visit; while friendly, all they had was a hand-operated floppy brush more suited to HVAC ducts. They had no luck, and suggested I just move the dryer out to the garage and put in a new duct! Omer arrived with 2 different cameras, and a range of stiff brushes which he worked with his drill, in very tight spaces, and was finally able to dislodge what must have been a 10#, soaking wet mass of lint. He installed an upgraded flexible duct and a new outside duct cover, and cleaned everything up. I've learned my lesson: call Lady Bird out annually, and request Omer!

He charged $675 to fill coolant and run a leakage test when he knew there was a 90% chance beforehand my evaporator coil was leaking and it would not be worth replacing the evaporator coil for $4500. He only offered a $675 credit towards a new system after I complained. 2. When I texted him a question about the new system quotes last year, he ghosted. Yet he emailed me four days later asking if I was ready to purchase a $17k system. Four days to decide on a $17k system without answering questions or receive other bids is not enough time. He cares more about making the commission than answering questions. 3. Jon Paul kept pushing the top of the line variable Daikin for $17k. Yet Shields AC & Heating in Lockhart said the DH7VSA compressor has a lot of firmware and software bugs communicating with the thermostat. Shields said it's not worth all the rebates and incentives. 4. Airco only offers a three year labor warranty through Airco. Yet they do not tell you that Daikin and Goodman offer an extended ten year labor warranty through Asure for $850. Daikin owns Goodman. 5. Jon Paul's quote did not include new return and supply plenum, unless he didn't specify. He only mentioned spraying the existing supply plenum with mold killer. 6. Jon Paul did not suggest moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic to reduce static pressure. Three other companies suggested moving the entire system. 7. When I asked Jon Paul what the difference was between the $17k variable Daikin and $15k variable Daikin, his response was, "More features and stuff." I need someone more articulate. 8. Jon Paul did not run a Manual J test. Ultimately, we ended up paying $12.1k with Jurnee Mechanical for a variable Goodman GXV6S condenser which included new return and supply plenum, moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic, 10 year extended labor warranty through Trinity, free maintenance for two years, and Reme Halo UV light.

He first showed me the picture he took of our downstairs attic and then the part that to me was very hinky was when I asked to see the picture of the second unit, it took him several minutes of scrolling through his phone to find another picture that showed a moldy unit. (If the picture was just taken it would've been right there next to the first picture.) Estimate was over 3K. I had another company come out two days later and they said we had no mold and the estimate $1100. I'm going with the second company who spent 30 minutes going over everything and making sure that they provided an accurate estimate versus the service we got from Clean Air Pro. The other major negative was the person didn't even put up the stairs back to the attics and left my back door open to the garage.

James did a thorough cleanup and inspection of the fireplace and chimney. As he started to notice some potential issues, he asked if we had attic access so he could do an even deeper inspection. Unfortunately we found some previously completed roof work compromised the integrity of the flue so he strongly discouraged continued use until a suitable fix was put in place. Although this isn't something he does, he gave me a few options to send me in the right direction. Obviously it wasn't great news but i'm happy to have received the information.
