Tiger Cry, Thai Steak

I went to visit my mom in Sherman, TX and she suggested this restaurant since she ordered to-go a few times and she's already hooked. Inside has a clean and modern look and being a fan of Thai cuisine I was very excited to check out. I started my meal with the onion soup and was sadly underwhelmed as it was lacking in flavor and really left me missing that savory, salty umami that a good onion soup usually offers but the Thai Tea certainly made for it. It wasn't too sweet and the half-and-half added the perfect balance of creaminess while rounding out the black tea. On to the main dish, Tiger Cry, which is a savory and lightly spicy steak, I ordered it with the fried rice and it included steamed broccoli that was not seasoned at all and the steak was a tad tough but otherwise delicious. I'll definitely come back to try more items on the menu, hopefully soon!

Tried 2 lunch specials, both the Red and Yellow Curries. Very good. Looking forward to trying other dishes and maybe a dinner. Lunch includes either salad or onion soup. We had salads and they were fresh with a house dressing.

This is drunken noodles and beef ribs. Omg worth every dollar! Definitely coming back. This was delicious.

Really good Thai and reasonably priced. I look forward to returning. Service is good. Better Thai than what I've found in Dallas.

Great chicken pad thai and service. The only thing I didn't care for was the gyoza. They needed a little more time in the pan.

Highland Noodles in Frisco was really good! We had two extras with us today, which meant we got to…read moretry a TON of things and honestly, there were still so many more we wanted to order! We started with the golden hot buns, edamame, pork and chive dumplings, and golden fried buns. Everything was fantastic...with one exception. The edamame comes with sugar instead of salt, and that one just wasn't for us. For our meals, we had General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef Noodles, and Braised Beef Noodles. The General Tso's was one of my favorites, the sauce was bold, slightly sweet, and had just enough heat. The Sesame Chicken was really good too, a little sweeter and milder but still had a tiny kick. The Kung Pao Chicken was definitely a favorite at the table! It had so much flavor and a nice little spice to it. The Mongolian Beef Noodles were savory and really good, and the Braised Beef Noodles had a deep, rich flavor with a really tasty broth. Most of us chose the wide, flat noodles, and I would absolutely get those again. They soaked up all that sauce so well! And apparently scissors are part of the noodle-eating experience. It seemed a little odd at first, but it was actually kind of fun and definitely something different! The restaurant was quiet, very clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our waitress was a young girl who was just the sweetest. And, as is standard for me, I asked her what her favorites were. She recommended several things and was so personable and helpful. Even as we were leaving, everyone told us thank you and goodbye. Little things like that make such a difference. And one completely random thing that deserves a mention...they give you individually wrapped flossers at the end of your meal. I know, it sounds silly, but after eating noodles, you KNOW you need one. We loved it! Definitely worth a visit if you're in Frisco and want something a little different!

We wanted some fried dumplings after it's been raining all day. I had a craving for their oily…read morenoodles which were delicious as usual, spicy and garlicky. The only thing that was not enjoyed was the texture of their pork in the pan fried pork and chives dumpling. Re-ordering wouldn't have changed it, it was something with the consistency in their meat. Personally, love a meaty dumpling but something felt fishy in it. Just don't get the pork and chives dumpling, everything else is delicious!

This place is a noodle lover's dream. Almost every noodle combination you can think of and they do…read moreit well. The texture of their noodles is cooked perfectly al dente in my opinion. Crab noodles: VERY generous amount of crab meat. Super creamy, seafood forward flavor. If you like shellfish, this is for you. Dan Dan noodles: Lighter flavor profile compared to other Dan Dan noodles I've tried. Refreshing! Scallion oil noodles: this was my favorite. The sauce is addicting and the noodle texture is so addicting. Love the crispy fried scallions on top. A must order. Beef noodles soup: Also very solid choice. The broth is clean and the beef is tender. Lots of veggies on top which I like. Skewers: they're all pretty solid and have similar cumin seasonings. I think the beef/lamb was my favorite. Very "futuristic" vibe inside. Good amount of parking.

Food: ~ Fried eggplant with house sauce (0/5): I did not…read morelike this at all!! The breading/sauce was so sweet and had an odd flavor..it tastes like candy. Only ate a bite. ~ Beef, shrimp, and chicken fried noodle (3.5/5): taste like hu tieu ap chao but a bit oilier. This was was good but I think it would be better with some pickled peppers or spicier. I would have also liked it hot rather than luke-warm. ~ Pork belly noodle soup (3.5/5) + spicy + numbing: the broth was rich and flavorful! We added the spicy and numbing customization but it wasn't that spicy and wasn't numbing at all. This dish was also luke-warm. Service: You walk in and choose your own table unless you're ordering to-go (then you order at the kiosk up front). If dining in, there's a QR code on the table to scan and order online. You can continue ordering and the kitchen will make it and send it to your table. When ready for the check, the app will send a notification to a server that brings out the check.. kind of defeats the purpose of doing everything through the website. They seemed extremely short staffed with only one server. You won't be able to ask for any condiments, napkins, to-go box, etc. as nobody stops by your table and it was difficult to get the attention of the server at all... we asked for an extra bowl which we never received. Ambiance: the place isn't that big and had a steady flow of customers. I liked how it wasn't too loud and was a good place to catch up with my friend.
