Chingon Platter
Greg F.

We were looking for good BBQ near Ontario and came across this joint. The overall experience was very satisfying and scratched our BBQ itch. The place is typical BBQesque ambiance complete with the smell of smoked meat permeating the air inside. The server we had took great care of us and made sure our needs were met. We ordered the Chingon platter and it was barely enough for 4 big eaters. The meats were tender and delicious along with very well prepared sides. The sauces were everything you would expect from a solid meat joint. Definitely going back here when in Upland.

The best bbq I have had in the inland empire. The brisket was pull apart with large amounts of flavor. Pork burnt ends were delicious and all the side were fantastic. Definitely be coming back more often There called the pulse of the upland. After eating so much a can barely feel mine

10/15/26 Came here for the first time! Wow, was I surprised! I was greeted by Jen at the front who was very nice. She explained the process very well that I could go sit down with the menu and then come back up and order when I was ready. On the way to my seat I noticed this place was very clean. I looked over the menu and went back up and made my order. I got the sampler trio tacos... which comes with burnt ends, brisket, and pulled pork. I also got the green chili mac & cheese. And for dessert, I ordered the banana cream pudding with Biscoff cookies on top. Let me tell you, if you haven't been here yet, you need to get down here and try these barbecue items. All three meats in the tacos were so good! The mac & cheese was extraordinary, great cheese flavor! The banana pudding was a great final touch and yummy! John, the owner came over and spoke with me and he's such a cool dude! I definitely highly recommend this place and will try to come back with my daughter as soon as I can to try other items!!!

Wings

You cannot beat their $1 wings on Wednesdays. They are smoked then fried and tossed in house made sauces. They also use huge wings and you can tell the meat is good quality. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Located inside Kings Brewing, there's an area for a live band and tvs showing sport game. I got their 2 meat, 2 sides platter ($26). I got their crinkle cut fries and potato salad with an order of sliced brisket and St Louis style spareribs. The brisket was moist and smoked nicely. The spareribs had a good amount of meat and the sauce went well. The staff is nice and the place is clean.

Wing Wednesday!! Wanted to try out Crazy Gringo BBQ as well as Kings Brewing. Made it happen. Saw reviews complaining about having to order when you walk in. Didn't have any problem Was greeted with a big smile and a welcome! Told the girl it was my first time. Told me about the wing Wednesday 10 for $10 special. Ordered the wings as well as the loaded fries with pulled pork. She gave me a number for my table and told me the food will be out shortly. Ordered a Hernandez from Kings Brewery, and took a seat. The bbq smell is amazing! Lots of seating inside as well on the patio. Server came out with the wings. Wings looked amazing. Again, saw reviews where people had issues with the food being served on trays. Found no issues. Trays were clean, had a paper cover on it and the food presented beautifully on them. Seems like let's complain just to complain. Wings were cooked perfectly. Plenty of smoke flavor in them. Loaded fries were loaded! Really enjoyed. Great food great vibe great service!

At first, we were primarily there to drink some brews from King's Brewing. King's Brewing used to have their own location but ended up closing, and a few months later they reopened in the same spot as Crazy Gringo BBQ. Let me just say, this place truly has the best of both worlds: good BBQ and good beer. I'll focus only on the BBQ for this review. The restaurant itself is very spacious, with plenty of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. There are lots of TVs for anyone who wants to come in and enjoy a game, and they even had a Pantone 294 flag, which was a nice touch for the large fan base of our beloved Dodgers. The host and waiters were very helpful and gave great opinions and advice on what to order. Ordering was fairly simple, and one of the best parts is that even if you're sitting at the same table, each person can order on their own phone by scanning the QR code. This completely eliminates the hassle of splitting the bill. There were so many tempting items to choose from, but I ended up going with the BBQ sandwich. You can choose any meat you want, and I went with the PB burnt ends. It was incredibly delicious and packed with flavor, exactly how good BBQ should be. It came with a side of fries that were seasoned to perfection. My sister ordered the pulled pork loaded fries, which were also very tasty. Several of my friends went with brisket and sausage platters, paired with sides of mac and cheese and BBQ beans. Sadly, they did not share, but I honestly can't blame them because everything looked way too good. Another plus is that the food came out fairly quickly, even though the place was busy. They also had a live band playing classic rock tunes, and if it felt a bit loud, there was space toward the back where you could still comfortably hold a conversation. I will definitely be coming back, not just for the good beer, but for the amazing BBQ as well. This place is definitely a new hidden gem.

Heres what you do. You and your partner come here and order your meals. Grab some drinks from Kings brewery, PB Stout is delicious, then walk it all off cruising the shops up and down the streets. Their BBQ is awesome. Showed up late and majority of their menu was sold out. But their brisket is nice and tender, break apart even. Pulled pork was moist, majority of bbq joints i been to, their pulled pork was dry. Wife was raving about the coleslaw and potatoes salad. Portions to price ratio was above par. More than enough in comparison to other bbq places i've been too. I want to come back for their weekday specials.

Brisket: 5/5 Chicken: 5/5 Sausage: 4/5 Mac & Cheese: 3/5 Potato Salad: 3/5 Cornbread: 4/5 Service: 2/5 The brisket was really tender, the sausage was great, and the chicken was super moist. My son had the ribs, which were a little dry, but he still enjoyed them. The cornbread was good, and the potato salad and mac & cheese were just okay. I wasn't a fan of the green chiles in the mac, and it doesn't seem like you can order it without them. We also ordered the jalapeño ranch, but it tasted almost exactly like blue cheese, which we all hate. Unfortunately no one ever checked on us, so we couldn't let anyone know or get it swapped out. Service was the biggest disappointment. We stood at the front for quite a while without being acknowledged and eventually seated ourselves. Between the signs saying to order at the front, order drinks at another counter, or order from your phone, it was a little confusing, especially since no one came over to explain anything or ask if we needed help. We also noticed other parties being greeted while we weren't, the bartender didn't seem very happy to be there or welcoming... Overall, it's a cool little newer spot in downtown Upland, and I'm glad we finally gave it a try. The food had some highlights, especially the meats. I'm not sure it's somewhere I'd rush back to, but I'm glad we checked it out.

We tried this BBQ restaurant and it did not disappoint. The ribs were tender and packed with flavor, cooked just right without being overly sauced. The smoked wings were absolutely perfect & juicy inside with that rich smoky taste that you hope for in real BBQ. The mac and cheese was firm, creamy, and seasoned really well, not bland like a lot of places tend to serve. On top of the great food, the customer service was excellent. Friendly staff, quick service, and a welcoming atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

First time here. I walked and was told the restaurant and bar are two separate entities. You order the food at the front counter, then go to your table. My brain was screaming run, run now. Anyways I ordered the Crazy Cubano sandwich got fries and drank water. The sandwich was decent kind of bland, the were fries. Biggest problems got ketchup and it was small packages like at fast food. The cups for soda were paper cups. All of the stools were metal no cushions. Giant mistake should have run. This is a restaurant that is not trying to stay here for anytime long. I predict they will be gone by Jan. 2027. Go elsewhere if you want good.

The bar area is pretty cool. The beers so far have been delicious. Upland Pulse is the one I like best. The staff are very friendly. Got some cool coasters from them. Potato salad is ok not much flavor in it. (Sorry guys gonna be honest.) Mac n Cheese is good pretty chill not super over the top one way or the other. The pulled pork has good flavor. The brisket burnt ends really good. Regular brisket is very flavorful. Thanks guys. I'd be back. Just need some extra seasoning in the potato salad please. Technically 4.5 stars is what I'd really like to give this place.

My husband ordered the brisket with potato salad and creamed corn, along with a side of the jalapeño cheddar sausage. He took a couple bites of the brisket and immediately said it tasted like straight propane and was basically inedible. I tried it myself thinking maybe he was exaggerating, but unfortunately I completely agreed. There was a really strong propane/burnt taste to it. I went up to the cashier just to give her a heads up so they could double check what was going on with the brisket. She was actually very kind and offered us a full refund for the plate, which we really appreciated. We had no issues with the sausage. Unfortunately, not long after we got home, we both started feeling sick. My husband was throwing up throughout the night, and I had pretty bad stomach pains. Obviously I can't say for certain what caused it, but the timing was definitely concerning. That said, I do want to give them credit for how they handled the situation. The cashier was very nice and made things right without any hassle. Staff were all very friendly. Hopefully this was just a one off because we'd still like to give them another try and hopefully have a much better experience next time.

Every single thing was delicious! The smoked brisket was juicy and tender, and they were definitely generous with the portions. Thought it would be a perfect time to go see them. I was able to grab a glass of wine to pair with their delicious barbecue brisket nachos. The serving was generous with some of the jalapeños to bring a little bit of acid and heat. Definitely wanna catch them at another pop-up and try some of their other items that lean more towards the Cambodian influence. The vibe getting the food and at the winery was very chill. It was earlier in the day, so maybe people weren't drinking that much yet but I really enjoyed my peaceful time whole enjoying the delicious food.

Wow!! I've missed these home cooked meals for way too long! Wish I had tried this place before now…read more Beola is the creator of these delicious recipes and her grandson is carrying on her traditions. Can't thank him enough! We got chicken & waffles (of course my usual fave), red beans & rice, cornbread and sweet tea. Everything is very good portions. Chicken is hand breaded with so many wonderful spices that don't feel overly fried and moist meat. Waffle was big that we split it. Smothered it with their maple butter (YUM!) and barely used any maple syrup because the waffle batter had so much flavor and cinnamon which is my favorite. Waffle was so soft but not soggy it had lightly crisp edges. Rice & beans were so flavorful that you only get from a good home cooked meal. It has beef and pork links that give it so much flavor. Oh my heavens...they call it cornbread but I call it corncake because it was so fluffy, moist and not at all gritty. We were welcomed by the owner and he talked with us after we tasted to get our feedback. Great guy. Very hospitable. Pictures are attached to see our meal and the restaurant. There are 5 tables. I've eaten here several times over the years, and it's a unique place to get a steak, or even just…read morea burger or a salad. First, I would avoid coming here during the usual busy dinner rush times. The ambiance is very casual, unpretentious, open seating. So when it's busy, it's loud. When it's busy, the servers are juggling multiple fully booked out tables. So if you're the impatient type, don't bother. Every time I've interacted with the staff, they've been as friendly and as accommodating as possible, for the volume of people that come here. It's just that popular. I'd rather come for a lazy lunch or afternoon meal if you're one of those people that need exceptional service and undying attention. The ingredients are pretty much high end. If you're familiar with the difference between dry-aged angus beef, wagyu raised in the US, or Australia, or New Zealand, or straight from Japan, you'll realize Meat Cellar offers the best cuts of beef around in Inland Empire. Very much the kind of quality you can find at Cut, Matu, Alexander's, Mastro's, etc. Except you don't to drive out through ass-fuck LA traffic, pay $20 valet parking, dress-up, etc. You could pretty much show up in pajama bottoms and a Sponge Bob T-shirt, and they'll serve and treat you like a fellow human being. Interestingly, whereas a lot of people would drive to LA or Beverly Hills to eat a prestigious steak house, it's also the opposite here, where people are driving from Orange County or Santa Clarita to eat here specifically as regulars. On the "lower" priced end, their fried chicken and fancy burger are pretty solid options to order. I also like getting their steak-frites with wagyu blade upgrade, the wagyu picanha, and the dry-aged ribeye. The cuts of beef itself does distinct itself in flavor by how much marbling to beef there is, and certainly dry-aged has a certain lovely, umami, earthy, nutty character to it. Personally, they're all good on their own with just salt - there are an array of sauce add-ons you can get. I can do without the salmon or the filet mignon, but then again, my palate is on team fatty savory flavor. Their sides are doable, though they tend to be all sharing portions. Fries are decent too, cooked in tallow fat. So keep that in mind, you might not like the texture and aroma of fries cooked in animal fat if you're used to eating trans-fatty vegetable oils your whole life.
