Stupefyingly he did not know what a Cajun was. After I repeated the question of who is influencing the food, he guessed it was his boss. Drove to Redmond and tried it anyway. Ordered the fried oysters and the peel and eat shrimp and crawfish. $30 Food came up quickly. Here's the review : I'll start with a good. Six decent size shrimp. Freshly boiled. Tender. Good spice. Next were the oyster niblets. 10 of them. Ok. Looked like they were prepared by Sysco in a factory in Wisconsin. Decent but not great. Dipping sauce was good. Saved the day. Six juvenile crawfish with no flavor were tough, dry and flavorless. Wife and I each had one and didn't.want any more. We pushed ourselves through another one, but I was offered the last one. I said you couldn't pay me to eat more. Rule of thumb if you work for somebody, you better get some cheerleading training and be excited about both answering the phone and telling people about your place, and your offerings. Rule two: people are not stupid just cause they're a long way away from where good food is prepared and served. At the very least you shouldn't plan on that as a business strategy. $15 should get you a pound and a half if not, 2 pounds of nice spicy hot crawfish with corn and potatoes. If we divide the price of the shrimp and crawfish and half, you should've at least gotten a fair 3/4 lb serving of delightful Mudbugs. And don't tell me you're too far from Louisiana to get fresh crawfish. I do it all the time. These are frozen Chinese crawfish. Recommendation: keep moving. -A Born & Bred Cajun

I show up, had a great table, great drinks, food and dessert too. I had the "PAC. Northwest Ribeye, horseradish mashed potatoes, with the house sauce (mushroom). The steak was AMAZING! (You can have the sauce on the side, but why?) The thick (14oz.) steak laid half over the mashers, and sauce all over which is how I liked it. The mashed potatoes had the perfect blend of horseradish (not overpowering) that went well with my medium-rare steak. It was delicious and, boy I was full! Parking was like (well, you know Bend!) reasonable (no reflection on the restaurant) get there early and stake your claim! The service was amazing, the food was awesome (my steak was flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection!). Price $$$ It is what you'd expect for such a fine dining experience! My drink was (I can't remember the name) but was a crushed berry, whiskey, mint leaf, on ice, but very tasty! I want more! Kudos and compliments to everyone there for making my birthday dining experience so wonderful! My desert, a slice of chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream!

We enjoyed four different kinds of mocktails off of the menu and each one had incredible flavor profiles. I had the kobe beef ribeye special with Jerusalem artichokes and he had the prime rib. Both of us were so pleased with our steaks and we're really actually pretty picky about our beef. ALSO! I am a connoisseur of crème brûlée, I've had it all over North America and this is the best one I've ever had. Hands down. This is the second time I've had it here and it continues to be the best I've ever had. I will be back for that alone! Our server Keira was incredibly nice, attentive, helpful, warm, and had great personality. We felt cared for, had amuse Bouche sent from the kitchen for our anniversary, left full, and happy!

We'd talked to a couple people about where to go and it's always the overrated, overpriced, overhyped places in Bend where you pay no less than 90 bucks for a decent ribeye. This place has limited hours 1600-2000 on Saturdays and Sundays so we figured we'd get here on the front end of that schedule( today, Saturday). We were seated in a nice booth in the back that was a bit quieter than the FOH. Got water and setups right away. Within 5 minutes, Jensen (sp?) came for our drink and meal order. We got a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned (the Tumalo offering) and they were decent. My DH had the 10 oz filet medium, and I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu (not my norm but couldn't get the same meal as we are evaluating offerings in the area). Both were awesome. I got the cream spinach and BP as a side; the DH mashed and gravy and garlic bread. The service was great; the price point was very fair (we've been to around 35 restys trying to find our faves) and I would heartily recommend this one over any dinner type restaurant we've been to thus far. We will be back! Thanks Jensen and Company!

Beer selection is surprisingly weak, given proximity to Bend's many fine craft breweries. But my biggest issue is beware the hidden fees. We paid unexpected up charges for adding asparagus to a steak dinner and for gravy to go with mashed potatoes. If we are paying $50+ for the dinner itself, seems kind of "nickel-and-dime" to charge extra $1.50 and $.75 respectively for these. This left a sour taste in our birthday special occasion.

I took a moment to study the vintage photo of the original firehouse that now serves as the brick bones of the restaurant. Awesome seeing the original garage doors and recognizing where the fire trucks would have sat in waiting. They even kept the fire pole above the bar. I found myself wishing other areas of the restaurant had been designed or decorated more intentionally to honor its soulful past. It wants to be a high class spot, but something about the interior design feels underwhelming. I enjoyed the drinks I tried although the menu seems a bit unimaginative. The energy was strange, maybe it was that night, but bar staff seemed to be a bit "altered" and on edge. One was wearing what may or may not have been an intentional cologne that smelled like the overpowering essence of hot rubber mixed with cigar smoke, and leather. I ended up ordering the fresh steelhead and it was amazing. Caesar salad was lovely. And the drink of the night was called something like a White Christmas but was sort of a wintery margarita. Awesome night in the end. But I prefer the Redmond location.

I found Brickhouse thanks to Yelp! and I was sold when I saw they had French Onion Soup and Blackened Ribeyes. The only problem was that it was a Sunday night and it would be 8 pm when I finally made my way there. They were open until 9 pm, but I know a lot of restaurants will close early if they don't have enough patrons. When I showed up at the restaurant I asked if they were still serving and the waitress that helped me went to check. The Manager came out and was very nice and said they were. I asked for the bar and he led me over to the bar with a menu. The bartender was incredibly nice from the get go. I should have written the review earlier, because then I would have remembered his name, but unfortunately it escapes me now. I already knew what I wanted but I didn't want to rush through it. I ordered a dirty martini and the French Onion Soup. Both were great. The soup was loaded with Gruyère, which I loved. It was rich and wasn't overwhelming with the onions. It hit the spot on this cold (to the Californian) night. The bartender recommended I try the Wagyu ribeye and I figured why not? So, I got the Blackened Wagyu Ribeye. It came with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies which were both really tasty. I like mashed potatoes, but I'm not crazy about them, but these were really good. The steak was huge and they cooked it perfectly. The blackening seasoning wasn't quite as flavorful as I am used to, but it was still good. I managed to get through the cap of the ribeye and that was delicious. I also had a glass of wine with my steak that the bartender helped me pick. Everything was really tasty, the restaurant was clean and upscale looking, and the people working there were very nice. It was the perfect way to spoil myself after transporting my foster kitten to Spokane and then driving back to California. I would definitely return if I make a trip through Bend again.

At least that's what they imply with all this larger than life architecture. I had a few drinks at the bar, testing various cocktails while we waited for a seat. Then my family and I were seated by a 16 year old somewhere dark and moody with riverside views. Kinda romantic if you were on a date. The Gen Alpha waiter didn't understand humor unfortunately and probably thought we were all unc. For some reason the menu seemed to lack variety and I felt forced to pick finger food instead of gluten and or giant meaty dishes that cost 50+ ...I can't ever finish those anyways. The Hawaiian nachos were not nachos, but some poke on little tostada things with some crema on top. Kinda underwhelming for 15 dollars. They were nice but more of a sharing dish, too much fishy flavor and lack of variety for one. I wonder why the menu is so boxed in and uninspired, like can we get a bit of creativity outside of appetizers? For a place with such a powerful presence, I expected more.

The food is always great and the few times there have been any issues it is immediately remedied and with grace. We are so happy to get to enjoy this restaurant. Wish the Management in the Seattle area would take some notes. The view of the river is nice at around sunset too.

The chicken is always juicy and the fattening fried part the best. Their sauce, I've never had anything like it. The sweet tanginess is something new. The fries are thin and crunchy without your fingers being greasy. Mastered. With that said I think it's important to share my review with the establishment. I do not want this amazing little takeout to go anywhere. And how can they fix something if they don't know. Today. My chicken sandwich/the big bird had so much mustard on it. It was overpowering. Dripping. It's all I could taste. Makes my mouth water thinking of it. I could not taste the cabbage. Actually had to check the sandwich, thinking they must have forgotten it. Nope, just drowning in the mustard. The chicken had a few bites of fat. Makes me shiver. To me there is nothing grosser than chicken fat. Can ruin a dish. The French fries. Sinfully wrong. Mastered. The sweet seasoning they use, down to cooking them to perfection. Gold. Crunchy. And never greasy. So good. However, today they tasted more salty than sweet and tangy. So much salt. Was not good. Everything I've had there has been the best. A sweet experience. Not your typical chicken. However. Despite not having the best meal today I'll continue giving them a five star.
