The person who helped me was super nice and actually realized she overcharged me and called me over to let me know and give me my money back. So honest and nice of her. I couldn't decide so I got a fish taco and a small order of chicken. The fish taco was good but maybe could have benefited from more fish and less toppings? I could tell the fish was so so good- tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, but lots of intense toppings so it was kinda overshadowed. The chicken was really good though. I had really high hopes. I've heard good things. Got the three-piece chicken nugget and some fries. And it was OK but not fantastic. The fries are kind of odd; they're flat, not like a steak fry, even thinner than that. Not really my type of fry. Decent selection of sauces. I got the maple bacon and some ranch, and ketchup came automatically with the fries. The chicken was a bit disappointing. The breading was fine and it was freshly fried, but the chicken itself was just not very good. All in all, I don't think I'd go back. Up until now I would have given this place 5 stars. They had some of the best chicken tenders around. Now they've switched from chicken breast meat to dark meat and the ones we had were overcooked and dry. My husband also ordered the chicken sandwich but they put so much sauce on it that the bun was too soggy to eat and all the goop was eating all over the place. I really liked the location this truck was in but the food from Fricken Faco was rather disappointing, especially given the prices. We got an order of fish and chips as well as a side of Mac and cheese. The fish and chips came with potato chips, aka crisps, not the standard fries. That itself was the first red flag! You can't call that fish and chips - even in America that's wrong. Then there was no sauce at all - I assumed incorrectly that they would have included some tartar sauce or vinegar in a to go box order, but I was wrong. I didn't see anywhere to get sauce either. The fish itself was alright - not super battered which was nice but it wasn't really seasoned - could have used some sauce! The mac and cheese was alright, but nothing special. Not a fan. read more

The Lot is my favorite food truck pod, so I was pleased when Fricken Faco opened up. Of the other three trucks, I tend to stick to Burgz N Dogz, so more choices are welcome. Sadly ... looks like it's still Burgz N Dogz for me unless Fricken Faco ups their game. - Spicy Thai Fricken: Very disappointing. The chicken is cooked well - it has that almost overdone texture that I like. But the sauce. Oy. One, it's not remotely spicy, not even a little. It's more like cloyingly sweet. For a menu that segregates the sauce offering into 'heat' and 'sweet', that's just unacceptable. If you're going to bill something as spicy, make it so. And cut down on the sugar. Two, the tub serving format means that the sauce migrates to the bottom and absolutely drenches the last several pieces. Better to use those shallower, rectangular thingies that fries and tots often are served in. And cut down on the amount of sauce. Even if I liked the spicy Thai sauce (it's not Thai), I wouldn't want the chicken swimming in it. Finally, the Fricken comes with 'veggies', which in this case were several sticks of celery, carrot and jicama. No dipping sauce at all. Just bare veggies. I've been known to happily munch a naked carrot stick but not so much celery and jicama. How about offering a small tub of ranch or blue cheese? - Korean BBQ Fricken: Considerably less disappointing but still not remotely spicy and still too sweet, despite also being listed under 'heat' on the menu. This time, however, there at least was a bottle of hot sauce in the condiment/utensil area that packed quite a bit of heat. But the fricken is not really conducive to added hot sauce due to the tub arrangement. It would be better if the chicken came out spicy if it is billed as being spicy. Once again, the bottom pieces of chicken were absolutely drenched with sauce. This time I received a small tub of a fairly tasty dipping sauce with the veggies, so that's an improvement. - Faco: Also disappointing but not nearly as much as the Fricken. In a word, the tacos are a mess. Or as my wife said "They're too busy". There seemed to be two different sauces slathered on the top, along with way too much other stuff. Sadly, neither sauce could rescue the tacos from being quite bland. The fish is well-cooked but bland. It's just not a good fish taco. As a comparison, try the ones at Bend Brewing, which are way better. Portions: I like that the Faco is offered as one or two tacos. Prices are reasonable either way. The Fricken, however, comes either medium or large. I ordered medium and that is more than I want (the disappointing sauces might have an influence). Maybe offer a small with about 2/3's the amount of the medium? Prices for the Fricken are also reasonable. Service: Fine, I guess, but uneven. The first time it was certainly not the friendly encounter we come to expect in Bend, such as what you'll get at the beer counter. Or Burgz N Dogz. Or virtually anywhere else in Bend. Rather, it was fairly gruff and perfunctory. It might have been a bad day, but servers having a bad day leave an impression. No issues in this regard with my second visit. Not recommended if you like spicy fried chicken. If you like tons of sweet sauce, you're in the right place. The fish tacos? I can see how some folks would like them but they're not my cup of tea. read more

This used to be our fav place to get chicken fingers and fish tacos on a Saturday. I literally would not have changed a thing about the food or service. Well, the service is still great... but, the owner apparently made the very poor decision to cut food costs and shift from white meat chicken to dark meat.... Without telling anyone! I like dark meat chicken in the right circumstances... but, I don't think it works for chicken fingers, and I don't think it's appropriate to market chicken fingers that aren't white meat unless you make it crystal clear on the menu. Not to add fuel to the fire... but, it's also clear to me that they have reduced the amount of fish in the fish taco. It's basically a normal tortilla with a much smaller than before piece of fish. All I can say is that their penny wise, but pound foolish, approach to managing food costs has lost them a long time customer. Very sad! read more

The wedge salad was literally a quartered head of lettuce with absolutely no dressing and a TINY sprinkling of onion pork and feta. It was almost impossible to eat it because the lettuce was so bitter and that's the only flavor it had. In order to get through it I had to make my own dressing. The tacos were ok. The thing that brought it all the way down to a 1 star is I was sitting there for like 30 minutes waiting for that crap when the guy with no personality behind the counter told me 5-10! read more

WOW!!!!! Can't say enough about this place!!! Moist, tender bits of chicken breast, cooked to perfection. A crispy, crunchy batter coats the outside. A choice of 6 different sauces. 3 hot, 3 sweet. I had the chicken and waffle. A Belgian waffle, with a crisp exterior, and a tender puff-like center. Don't know how they do it, but it is WONDERFUL!!!! And, that's not all. The waffle is covered with crisp bacon crumbles!!!!! Add a bit of maple syrup,,, a dusting of powdered sugar over the top of the chicken pieces,,,, and YUM!!!!!!! So the name of this place is Fricken Faco. Fricken for fried chicken. Faco is for fish taco I haven't tried the tacos yet, but if they're even close to the fried chicken they will be wonderful. Mixed feelings. The Lot (the food truck food court) is super cool seating with a beer and wine bar on site. The food here at Fricken Faco was just okay. Took forever to get the food though the line was short. The fish sando was pretty good, tacos weren't that good, the wedge salad was good but it was app pricier than what you get. Four of us ate for $70 -- that is high for a food truck. She also had an attitude and forgot our drinks and when we asked for them she knew what we had ordered and still was short one of the drinks we paid for and had an eye roll attitude about her mistake. Ate there today (7/29/2023)...ordered the chicken and waffles...got chicken and pancakes...no big deal...however the two pancakes I got were raw...not undercooked...raw...as in the middle was runny...took them up to the truck and brought it up to the gentleman there...said there was something wrong and I couldn't get waffles so they gave me pancakes...I told him the issue was not that I got pancakes but that they were raw...I showed him and he said nothing...I then picked one up and showed him how uncooked and runny it was...his words to me was "what do you want me to do about it?"...I was dumbfounded...I couldn't believe this lack of care or customer service...please be weary about ordering from here...if they care that little about the food they serve, it makes me very weary about how they treat the ingredients you get.
