The beer batter is very black pepper forward, so if you like black pepper, you'll like this. The cocktail sauce for the shrimp has the right amount of horseradish, and the coleslaw was creamy and cooling, and also very black peppery. I like a little spike of vinegar in mine, so I added some of the malt vinegar provided with my order. Yummy. Fries are good too. Service was great. While visiting Redmond. Oregon we decided to try there fish & chips and wild catch came on Yelp with a 4 1/2 star, so we decided to go and try it out. At first by following the googles map we couldn't fine it so I called them and it was on the other side of the street and from where we were we couldn't see any sign. We got directions and it was there in the Wild Ride Brewery which can't be missed because the building is so large and signs that is easy to spot. So if you want to find it just go to the wild ride Brewery and you will find Wild Catch, Slice, Burger Wild and there was 2 other food truck there also, but not open during the time we went. My wife ordered the 1 piece cod fish & chips, which she said was okay, but said the French fries were really good and I agree and the tartar sauce that they make is also very good. I had the mix seafood plate, but ordered the halibut instead of cod and it came with shrimp, Halibut and French fries and cold slaw. I didn't care too much for the halibut it was on the dry side not moist, the batter was light and crispy, the tartar sauce was really very good and tasty. The shrimp was coated lightly and came on the side, because I asked not to stir fry it with the sauce, the shrimp was lightly battered and tasty and the sweet spicy sauce was good . We eaten at Wild Catch for years because they have the best deep fried shrimp. We were disappointed on our latest trip there a couple of days ago. First they've gotten exorbitantly expensive and now charge you their total banking fee for credit card purchases. We usually like their Cole slaw but this time it had way too mayo in it and it was flavorless. They charge a lot for sauces that they don't fill to the top and I've always loved their tartar sauce but it wasn't very good this time and had too much dill in it. My wife and I were heading over to Wild Ride Brewery for some Nut Crusher Peanut Butter Porter. It was late afternoon and we wanted to get some dinner with our brews. I've eaten lunch at Wild Catch 4-5 times, both in Redmond and Prineville. The fish, shrimp and fries while pricey are always good. However, yesterday in Prineville I ordered the calamari appetizer which cost $17 bucks, which is about what you pay in a nice sit down restaurant, and was disappointed that almost half of the order was fried banana peppers instead of calamari. Kinda felt like a bait and switch, for that kinda money I expected seafood, not 50 cents of fried banana peppers to fill the basket to look like you're getting more calamari than you really are. While the quality is good, seems like every time I visit Wild Catch the price has gone up and the quantity has gone down. read more

Ok I'm gonna be the bad guy here. All these rave reviews tell me is either people are used to being screwed over or they have never had a really good fish and chips. Wait, let me say that differently. The fish is good and the batter is good but the portion you get for the price is ridiculous! Two pieces of fish, probably 1-1/2 inches long. I'd say total of the two pieces is less than the size of a deck of cards. 2 ounces maybe??? Not sure but be prepared to get a burger someplace after you drop over 20.00 ( including a tip) on this. After working long hours for the Rotary at the Deschutes County Fair, we wanted dinner. Most everything in Redmond closes at 9:00 pm..... but we popped in to Wild Ride and learned they were open until 10:00....WOO HOO!! Love the fish and chips here AND the spicy garlic shrimp were the best things ever. Great ambience sitting out on their deck chatting with folks about the fair. Perfect ending to a busy evening.
