It was busy so there was a bit of a wait. Had the three piece fish and chips, they were excellent, chips were crisp and fish had a light crisp coating, was not oily and was well cooked and delicious. I prefer fillets, but the chunks of fish were well still quite nice. The service was top notch and I appreciated the cole slaw side, it was the exact way I like it. My friend had the shrimp, he said he's driving back (we're from Redmond) to P'ville for more. Good job guys, you did it right read more

Every time I have tried to eat here, I am told that the fryers are shut down because they are closing. It was 9:25 both times. The sign says they close at 10. They can only make desert but no seafood after 9:25. They should change their hours and reflect that they actually close at 9:25. I hope the owners see this. read more

A guilty pleasure of mine! Getting take out from Wild Catch has always been a highlight of any day, especially staying open and still friendly during a bitter, snowy cold snap, and during the week. Thank You so much for that! The breaded garlic honey shrimp with fries and slaw basket immediately puts you in a good mood, with memories of nicer weather, even without the time or ability to hang out and sample Wild Ride brews. The shrimp surprisingly have a nice slight kick to them, and are fat and juicy, not tiny, plus the plentiful fries are thick cut. Both are rounded out and complimentEd by the bit of creamy slaw and lemon wedge. The meal always tastes very fresh, especially the shrimp and fixings, and made with quality ingredients. It is quite filling, especially if you eat most of the fries, which are pretty tasty. These 'chips' don't really need anything else on them, unless you want to switch it up and vary the taste, with tartar sauce, ketchup, or malt vinegar. I don't usually order meals or apps with shrimp or any fish, because they can be tricky to get right outside of real seafood restaurants near the coast, which I rarely get to, but this is worth making an exception for. Next I will have to try their fish, not just shrimp, to see how it compares to my other non coastal fave, The Horse Brass Pub in Portland... read more

Perfect fish and chips! Best I've had in Oregon: Fish: Lightly fried, fish still tender on the inside. Not too greasy like many places. Comes with fluffy tartar sauce, yum. Chips: Actual potato wedges, not shoestring fries like most copouts. Slaw: Superb. I don't normally like coleslaw but I like THIS slaw. Mayo isn't overdone, slightly sweet but well offset by a fresh pepper. Would gladly go back anyone! Highly recommend to anyone who likes fish and chips. One of the coolest ambiances I've ever seen for a food truck. There were 3 other food trucks here that I'm yet to try, however Wild Catch's food was excellent. The outdoor seating has fire pits to keep warm, and a giant Jenga set up. The indoor area had a nice micro brewery wit a unique seating area. had the plain wings with a side of tartar sauce and Buffalo hot sauce. It tasted wonderful. I was also able to have a taste of the fish and chips. Fish and chips can tend to be very boring, however the fish was very flavorful. The fries were some of the best I've ever had. Additionally, I had a taste of one of the shrimp dishes. It was glazed with a delicious sauce. Again, the flavor of this along with everything else I tried, was immaculate. read more

We stopped in at Wild Ride in Prineville after a trip out to the Painted Hills and John Day Fossil Beds. It was busy but there was still plenty of seating and the wait for food was not too bad. Part of our party went to a different food truck but my husband and I wanted to try Wild Catch as we have heard really good things about the food. We had the three piece fish and chips basket and it was really good. Was it the best fish and chips we have ever had? No. But for Central Oregon, it was solid. We were so excited by the recent reviews and being able to try someplace new. We enjoyed the wild brew facility but found the fish of the fish and chips extremely salty and inedible. I had no way of passing this along to the owner other than writing this review. The inside was cooked perfectly and the batter was thin and lovely but as mentioned terribly salty.
