Ok, so I'm Polish, and my mom and grandma gave made pierogi's all through my childhood into my present and as much as I love them, I have always secretly craved an American twist on this tradition. In comes Big Ski's! My sister lives in Bend and she insisted I try them out and I was not disappointed. In fact, I finally got to try a bacon ranch cheddar pierogi and it was what I have searched for my whole life! I ordered the sampler or 6 different styles and they were all amazing! The T-Rex, off the premium menu, was so good! Chuncks of steak and grilled onions and something else I'm forgetting, it was one of my favorites. The pepperoni and mozzarella was an obvious spin and do not disappoint. Some spicy options with Serrano chilli were hot but not uncomfortable. Podski is an awesome space with lots of options but this place should not be overlooked! Give'em a try!

Big Ski's Pierogis - potato perfection with grilled onions & sour cream ...yes please!

Yuummmmm. We dropped by for lunch at another truck in the pod, but when I saw this pierogi truck I had to add to my meal. Service - super friendly. Pierogis - cooked to perfection, fabulous flavor. We opted for potato, but can't wait to try their other offerings on the menu next time we are in town. There were too many fab sounding options on the darn menu!

10/10 RECOMMEND If you haven't been to Big Ski's Pierogi's then you need to head over there right now because you've been missing out! The first time I visited Bend I stumbled upon Big Ski's and I was thrilled. I'm Polish and grew up making pierogis with my family every Sunday before Christmas and when I tried Big Ski's pierogis it took me back to those memories. I'd recommend trying The O.G. for starters, that's the most similar to the traditional pierogis I'm used too. Beyond that the sampler is a good option to try a variety of the other pierogis. I can't lie though, my absolute favorite were the Hells O.G. I love love love spicy, which is typically not included with pierogis, and the O.G. mixed with the habanero and serrano is delicious. We tried the BCB and the BGT and those were great as well. Overall, you can't go wrong with whatever you order here. I'm in Bend at least 1x a year and I can't wait to come back here again next time I'm in town!

Love this truck. The pierogis are delicious. They change them up and you can do an assorted mix of 6 for $13. Highly recommend.

Sooooo good! Even went back to order more. Located at pod ski with several other food trucks. This was first on our list based on the reviews and definitely didn't disappoint. I liked that we could pick our perogies for our sampler which made us go back for more. Served hot. She added sour cream and onions if you wanted which was a great add on to these pillows of deliciousness.

They may not look like much, but these pierogis are fire!!!!! Kielbasa is pretty good too!

I just want to say that these pierogis are epic! Served nice and fried up with a crispy exterior and stunningly made fillings! We did a sampler with The OG, The BGT, The Pollo del Fuego, The BCB, The Dre, and The Bobfather! We also ordered a Kielbasa as well. There wasn't one pierogi that I regretted ordering. Loved them all but the BGT stole the show for me. The Kielbasa was ok. Wasn't the best or the worst but it was a nice meat palate cleanser in between pierogi bites. Highly recommend!

This was one of the couple carts that were opened when we visited. We ordered a couple of Samplers to share for our group. They have a great variety of pierogis which was pretty neat. I remembered the bacon one, the Hell's OG, BCB, and Pollo de Fuego standing out to me. Overall, cool place to try and enjoy the variety of flavors.

Food was great, it reminded me a lot of dish from back home so it definitely got my attention when i first saw the restaurant. Rich had great service & was very friendly to talk to. The picture does not do it justice I got the sampler & My favorite was the ground beef one & the sea food.

Food Cart Pods are not a thing where I'm from, so whenever I see one, it's pretty exciting. First of all, do all Cart Pods have names? I love this one; "The Podski", HA! Ok but beyond that, this place had so many delicious and unique options. We had Italian arancinis twice, a sampler of Pierogis, delicious oyster shooters and shrimp tacos. One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal. For about the same price you'd pay for a typical pint, they pour about 20 ounces of happy beverage into a taller than I expected glass. The picnic tables are colorful, there's a covered tent if you're feeling cold, people are friendly... it's just overall a great place to chill, drink, & eat.

But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Double patty. Brioche bun. Cheese doing its job. America. I ordered The O.G. because I respect tradition. American cheese, caramelized onions, burger sauce. Simple system. Works great. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. The city has completed construction on 2nd Street so there are more spots available than before.

To order, you pick your protein (chicken, steak, or tofu) and pick your boat (rice, noodles, baguette, or salad). Current prices are $14 for chicken or tofu and $16 for steak. I tried the chicken baguette option (a self described banh mi) which came with cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, and garlic aioli sauce. In my experience, a banh mi is commonly made with pork and pate. Obviously, Da Nang can serve whatever food they want; I'm not making a claim about authenticity. But, I think their sandwich would have been better with these ingredients. The sandwich was good but not great. The baguette was very good -- crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. The flavors were good, but relied heavily on the garlic aioli to pull it together. The chicken was a little dry without the aioli. When I got all the ingredients together in one bite, it was pretty good, but the sandwich size/shape made this difficult. IMO It tasted more like a "chicken and pickled vegetables" sandwich than a banh mi. Service was friendly. It took about 10 minutes to get the sandwich and they gave me a buzzer to tell me when it was ready.
