    Chicken basket and fries
    Kendra H.

This is some of the best fried chicken in Bend! It's nice and juicy, not too oily and also has a nice crunch! The portions are huge and a good value for the price. My bf had the plate and I had the Nashville Fried chicken sandwich with Cajun fries. Deducting 1 star while the Nashville was good it wasn't the best seasoning I've ever had. I am ready to go back and try the other combos!

Guy soaked the Nashville chicken in cayenne sauce. I can handle it with some hiccups but God forbid and old lady has a stroke

Wonderland Chicken - Nashville Style Chicken Sandwich--my absolute favorite sandwich in the world!

    Wonderland Chicken

Decently good fried chicken sandwiches. The chicken is fresh, the spice is on point, the slaw is…read moredecent, but the sandwiches are a bit one dimensional. A great Nashville style fried chicken sandwich is a balance, a harmony between the spice from the cayenne, the acidity from pickles, and a hint of sweetness to round it out. These felt a bit one-dimensional, and the slaw didn't really bring balance to the spice. The sidewinder fries are absolutely S-tier, and I very strongly recommend these if you are here. Overall, not bad given the alternatives in Bend, but fairly average compared to the fried chicken wars in the rest of the country.

OK, this place is crazy good... going back and trying to make sure I reviewed all my check ins and…read moresee that I gloss over this one. Every once in a while, you get a place that just hits when it comes to chicken. Now, like most of you know chicken breast is the most plain dry cut of meat you could possibly get. So really when you get to a good place that knows how to fry it up right soak in all that moisture. You didn't think it had and give it that perfect crust and spice it to perfection. Now I hate to judge a book by its cover, but let's be honest that's why you give books covers. In this case you can see it so blatantly a good chicken sandwich from a mile away. I like to go around these busy areas and kind of just pee around and look at people's food and see what visually is happening. The same way with the coffee shop you can look at pictures of their drink drinks and know about 90% certainty, but it's gonna be good or not Here was a no braider it tasted exactly how you might think and with all that said it was a banger of a sandwich. It's hard to spend this much on a sandwich these days and I really advocate for places like Dave's Hot Chicken and Chick-fil-A that can just put out a great sandwich for a lower price, but I know that amazing sandwiches usually come at a higher price. With all that sad and all that context put in there this place is good and if you're one of those people comfortable paying normal sandwich prices for sandwiches you're gonna absolutely love this place

The service is efficient, no annoying chitchat but fantastic recs (jerk chicken salad and tots). The location is clean but busy, you might want to park on the street. Restaurant Review - Fire on the Mountain - Bend, Oregon…read more I had lunch here with a friend and his wife, whom I just met. This is a very casual restaurant. In fact, pretty much everything about Fire on the Mountain is casual. The staff was mellow, and it is a standard walk-up, order, get a number, and find-a-seat setup. That part went smoothly. We sat outside, which was a comfortable space. The whole restaurant feels airy, relaxed, and yes, very casual. Our order came out fairly quickly. The food was presented well, but this is where the experience fell short. My Straight-Up Chicken Sandwich lived up to its name. It was just that, a straight-up chicken sandwich. Nothing really set it apart from what I could throw together at home. The tater tots were straight out of a school cafeteria or from my own freezer and air fryer. Two thumbs up, however, for the Hawaiian Punch. I checked with my dining companions, and they agreed their meals were on the average side. One mentioned her BBQ chicken salad was overdressed. "Doused" was the word she used. The other said the barbecue sauce on his sandwich was thin and bland. Prices are right in line with what is common these days. Sandwiches run about $16 to $17, with $2 to $3 add-ons for cheese, bacon, etc. With tip, lunch for the three of us came to about $59. That is standard for Bend now, though it still stings. I pressed the printed ticket button but never received one, and I did not bother to ask. Not a big deal. Overall, it was a nice lunch with good company. The space is pleasant, and the staff covered the basics. But the food did not stand out, and there was nothing about the experience that would make me suggest to friends, "Hey, let's go to Fire on the Mountain." I will probably pass on a return visit.

KFC via DoorDash Delivery Review…read more For most of my life, I've loved KFC. So there, I admitted it. But I also remember when the butter was butter and the honey was honey. I'm not entirely sure what they are now. KFC has always made a big deal out of their secret 11 herbs and spices. Unfortunately, they seem to have stopped using them. I still order from KFC often via DoorDash, usually when they run a good deal. And they do have good deals. The latest, on 11/26/2025, was a 2 for 1 on a 2-piece meal. Considering today's delivery costs, that was a lot of food for $19.41 (inc DashPass discount, service fee and driver tip). So they have that going for them. But back to the seasonings. I meant it. They really seem to have stopped using them because the chicken is now just bland with almost no flavor. And yes, it is still greasy, but that was always part of the charm. They've recently brought back the wedge fries, and I prefer these to the regular fries they promoted over the last few years. And then there is the ever-shrinking biscuit. For the last 10 years, maybe longer, the biscuits have just mysteriously gotten smaller and smaller and smaller. Someday they will become a black hole and lead to the disintegration of planet Earth. Most of this review has focused on KFC in general. This particular store consistently delivers on the above. The food is generally warm to hot when it arrives. It is well packaged. They always include a plethora of the fake butter and fake honey and plenty of napkins. I haven't noticed any sporks recently though. I do not know if these have disappeared from the KFC experience. Each time I've ordered from here, at least 10 times, the DoorDash delivery has been quick. This is KFC as KFC is today. In my opinion, it has simply reduced in flavor, quality, and portion size from yesteryear. This particular KFC delivers this exact experience. But in the parts they control (packaging, speed, consistency) they actually do a pretty good job. Even though this is a relatively negative review, when I see a good deal, I'll keep ordering from this KFC.
