The absolute best part of this place is they serve fresh hot falafel, no matter when you visit. The falafels might look different but are very flavorful. Definitely recommend trying their falafel wraps/bowl. They have a new addition to the menu - Paneer Shawarma. Paneer is marinated in traditional shawarma spices and grilled to perfection. Paneer Shawarma is served over rice with a side of salad and pita. Paneer lovers must try!! I'll be trying the Paneer Shawarma wrap next time. read more

Like the other restaurants in the little plaza, this spot is a well-known staple, and for good reason. The food is great. I had the chicken shawarma wrap, and it was delicious and reasonably priced. I loaded it up, and the flavors were bold, rich, and satisfying. The service was quick, and they offer takeout, which is always a plus. I came back to this place after YEARS!!! Like almost 10 years and I've heard mixed reviews since but always wanted to come back and check it out and it didn't disappoint! The pita was so fluffy and perfectly made and I got the falafel platter w baba ganoush and hummus. It was well seasoned (I think the falafel was a little on the saltier side) and the sauces on the side complimented the taste very well. There isn't much seating but I got takeout anyway. Best falafel in NJ, not even kidding, this family run middle eastern and possibly Pakistani Indian influenced cuisine pinches way above its strip mall class! The freshly made falafel, lamb & chicken shawarma, and perfectly executed dishes have made this the go to lunch spot that also delivers on Grubhub. The only thing I could ask for is less salt in the babaganouj but otherwise 5 of 5 stars! Also they bake their own pitas i believe, and they are the tastiest pitas ever!!! My husband and I wanted Chicken Shawarma Pita's for dinner but our usual spot was closed. I found Crazy 4 Falafel on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! The Chicken Shawarma Pita was so flavorful! The hot sauce was very hot but I did enjoy it. The Jerusalem platter had a nice selection of different things and everything was delicious! I wish it came with additional pita. I was not terribly impressed with Crazy 4 Falafel $17 and change for 2 Falafel Sandwiches to go. The Falafel was very good, crispy and very flavorful as was the vegetables. The pickled cabbage was fantastic. The sandwich needed some hummus or extra tahini, as it was a bit dry. Speaking of dry, the folks running the counter offer very little in terms of conversation or personality. If you visit I recommend taking your order to go, the store isn't attractive nor is it very clean. The Sandwich was good but I wouldn't be in a rush to go back. read more

Located right off the New Durham exit off I287, this would have been an ideal pitstop to grab something quick to eat. With falafel being their signature dishes, we ordered a couple falafel pita sandwiches on this first visit. It took 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, the sign instructed to wait outdoors once order is placed. This is a first as far as COVID prevention measures, but I treated it as a positive. Hand sanitizers were on the order counter as well as at multiple tables. Plexiglass sheets were hang and masks were worn. You certainly feel safe to order food here. As for the falafel sandwiches - the pitas were toasted perfectly and the toppings were fresh mix of red cabbage, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers. The optional tatziki sauce was good, make sure you ask for it. The price was on point. The only issue we had was actually the falafel itself. For some reason, all of us experienced something undesirably hard on the bite. That's actually a serious downer. I'm giving it a generous 4 star rating. I'm actually looking forward to trying their shawarma dishes next time I pass by the area. read more

Falafel is a tricky item to order and have to keep an open mind to the interpretation of this food. It was listed under Middle Eastern in Uber Eats but feel it was more of a Pakistani Indian version of falafel. My father from Jordan was visiting and threw off his palette but in the end a good way and new experience for us all. Every region has their own take on Falafel and this was not the true chick pea based with green filling. This was very spicy and more Indian influence fusion. The same for the hummus and baba gananoush lots of garlic over powering flavor. The grape leaves did not taste fresh more canned. The baklava was good though tasted more authentic. The basmati rice had a kick to it and the chicken was more tandoori as well. The garnish salad was different too with a pickled cabbage with cucumber and lettuce. Also accompanied with lots of sauces-tzatziki was more heavy yogurt labneh then traditional , green cilantro sauce and traditional tahini. The item that was different was the Kibbeh with tahini which tasted like meat tho, but it was not meat not sure what it was, and the phyllo feta dough sticks. read more

A little late with this review, but better late than never. During Ramadan they ran specials for iftar meals that included everything from the dates to break your fast all the way to the baklava you had for dessert. We ordered from here 4 times during Ramadan because of how delicious the chicken over rice was. We had tried the mix with lamb over rice the first order and weren't too crazy for the lamb so we stuck to the chicken for every order afterwards. The rice is seasoned so well and delicious all on its own even without any meat, but pair it with the chicken and some salad and you have a delicious mouthful of flavors in every bite. The mango lassi is also delicious and helps wash down all the savory flavors, it was the perfect thickness whereas I've had it from other places where it's so watery and loose that it doesn't taste like mango lassi at all. The chicken samosas it came with were spicy and also very good. I personally wasn't a fan of the vegetable samosas or the complimentary falafels they included. For a place named after falafels it was disappointing that their falafels weren't good at all so had to dock a point for that. Their tahini also wasn't very good it was too watery and lacked any flavor depth to it but the white sauce they include paired well with the chicken over rice. The pita bread was very fluffy and delicious and one of my favorite aspects of the meal every time. Overall they have their flavor palette perfected and we'll be loyal customers moving forward. read more

The definition of a hidden gem Not gonna lie when you first roll up to this place your going to get some sketchy vibes. It def does not look the part and is not really done up a whole lot but don't judge a book by its cover. We found this place on yelp because we wanted to eat something before meeting some friends at top golf. We took a chance on this place because we love trying new things. So glad we took a chance on this place and tried what they had because we can't wait to go back. It's very very authentic and it's something you really can't get anywhere else. Tried food from this place for the first time this Saturday (09/18/2020) and I loved the food. We ordered closer to the closing time but I assured them that we would be there just on time. They were obliging and kept everything ready. We had chicken shawarma and Jerusalem Platter. My husband thought his food was little dry and some sauce would have been nice. I've ordered a chicken shawarma on pita, vegetarian kibbeh and a container with small different types of baklava (dessert) and everything was soooo good! Yum! My mouth waters just thinking about it again! The sandwich had all the right fixings and the perfect amount of dressing. I recently stopped here during the weekday to grab a quick bite to eat during lunch time. This is one of the better places that serve falafel sandwiches and bowls in the area. The menu is middle eastern fast food with Falafel, Shwarma, Baba Ganoush, Tabouli, Hummus, etc. I tried their falafel sandwich and it was filled with hummus, Lettuce, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, hot sauce and Tahini Sauce. It was good and portions were large. very fresh and delicious meal. It is not a fancy place but the food/service/attention to customers is fabulous.
