I was told by the office the crew would be there between 8:30 and 9 am. They showed up at 8 just as i was leaving, so I stayed to let them in. Turns out I had to cancel my plans for the rest of the day too... From the crew: No introduction, nothing. They just said "we're here to do the attic" The crew really didn't know where to access the attic and was looking to me for guidance. I assumed that when the supervisor came out to bid the job and make notes that there would have been some sort of pre con with the team about the particulars, access points, existing materials etc. But I guess not. The crew got started and before long I was standing in the kitchen when insulation started pouring from the back of the truck. My husband made his way upstairs to talk to the crew about what was going on. He was trying to tell them there was something wrong at which point the ceiling tiles began to fail. One of the crew went out the window to deal with the truck, the other was still in the crawl space. My husband made his way back down to talk to the guy who had gone outside. He looked at him and said" that's not sheet rock up there", in an annoyed tone. My husband told him "Clearly! its not sheet rock, you guys are the professionals, I would expect you to know that." Shouldn't that be a point noted in the initial walk through with the supervisor? He simply got on his phone and walked away. There should absolutely have been someone on site that can communicate with the customer and act appropriately. My husband contacted the owner and he sent the supervisor out and apologized for any inconvenience, gave the guys some instruction to clean it up (which for the most part they did) and left. I would think by this time it would be a good idea to have someone stay there to check the guys out as things were definitely not going as planned. But there was not. The crew finished up, said they were done and left. My husband and I went around the house and property to check on the state of things. The pictures inside the house included snow the insulation left behind, little bits all over. on the floor in my daughters room, on the floor mats at the back entry way, on the roof tiles of my new roof. I know that material is dangerous and the reason all of the gear is worn. Not right that I or my family would be exposed to walking through it and tracking it around the house. I then went upstairs to start to put back the items we had taken out of the closets so the crew could access the attic. This is where I was most offended. I have prints and artwork that is very dear to me and my family. One framed print had been knocked off the wall, the glass broken, frame broken and then simply put in a pile on the floor-hidden. Another painting, very sentimental to me, given to me by my great grandmother, had obviously come off the wall and hit the floor, the glass cracked and the frame broken. This one they hung back on the wall, I guess hoping we wouldn't notice. I can have it reframed, but it won't be the frame my grandmother gave me. We would have gladly removed all of the artwork from the walls if we had been told there could be an issue. Finally I looked inside the largest access panel to look inside the attic. The insulation to me looked to have many high and low spots, I can't imagine that provides a uniform rating. I have had pests in the past and would like to know at exactly what locations in the attic were sealed for rodent prevention. The bid also states that there would be weather stripping installed at access hatches. I don't see that. All in all it was a really disappointing experience. I'm working really hard and spending lots of hard earned dollars to maintain and improve my family's home. It's a vulnerable place to be in to have to hire someone to execute a professional service. I expect to be able to rely on their expertise to create a seamless experience. This isn't about money, although we don't feel like we got what we paid for. The initial walk through with Marcel, the supervisor was great which is why my husband hired them. The office team was very courteous. It was the onsite experience that fell apart. That's my two cents. Hopefully this can be a learning experience for the crew. We contacted the owner with my complaints and he offered to take $150.00 off the $1700.00 bill. We did not feel this amount was compensation for the broken roof tiles I would now have to fix myself, the broken personal items or the overall messiness of the job and the crew. read more

In December while we were watching television in our living room; my son muted the TV and said "Listen". What we heard was gnawing underneath the living room floor. Something was literally eating our house! We live in a Townhome with 6 units and the furry little critters had gotten into the crawl space and were feasting on our home. Due to the negligence of one tenant, the crawl space door had been left open. Not really going into the crawl space often (never!) When they were done - they took lots of pictures. What a difference! New and secured pipe wrap, the insulation was installed properly and to code and we are "rat free"! My experience with Crawl Pros was the best I've ever had with a contractor working on my house. The job included completely gutting and redoing the crawlspace of my manufactured home. That was no small task because the work had to be done laying your back and then scooting around on your belly to move around due to low clearance under the house. It's a bear getting around the pipes, the support beams, all the rocks (we're on a creek bed). I hate going under the house, although I've had to about a dozen times and had and seen evidence of mice. I discovered they had infiltrated the sub-floor insulation and were ruining it. We hired this company for an expensive attic insulation and mold remediation project, largely because of great ratings and the fact that they promised peace of mind and emphasized their warranty. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. During a later project, we discovered several serious issues related to the attic: visible mold, severe overheating even during mild weather, and a bathroom vent that does not appear to be properly connected to the exterior. The company was unable to clearly confirm whether this vent is connected or not, and instead advised us to consult other professionals to determine the cause and responsibility. During their inspection, the company focused narrowly on the bathroom vent but failed to acknowledge or address the mold that is now present throughout the attic -- despite the fact that they treated the attic for mold just two years earlier. This omission was never explained. Instead of taking responsibility for investigating the full scope of the issue, the company repeatedly deflected, offered conflicting explanations, and shifted blame. We were told to consult roofers or other third-party specialists to assess problems that may very well stem from their original work, rather than having the company stand behind its service and warranty. Trying to resolve this under warranty turned into a months-long ordeal. Communication was slow, evasive, and inconsistent, dragging on for more than two months despite repeated follow-ups. We were asked to gather evidence ourselves and climb into the attic. The quality assurance specialist assigned to our case failed to provide clear answers or meaningful progress, and when we requested a different specialist on the phone, the company refused. For a business that charges premium prices and promises reliability, this level of service is unacceptable. I have had an ongoing issue with rats in my crawl as i live next to a green belt. It became a nightmare when they got into my heating ducts last winter and accessed my kitchen and destroyed my dishwasher. Nothing is more disturbing to me than hearing rats crawling under the floor and in the walls while your relaxing for the evening. I have replaced my heat ducts several times as well as the vapor barrier in the crawl, and attempted to seal everything but they always got back in. This is not new to me as I am a service plumber and have been in many crawl spaces. The rats here are tenacious and destructive. Mine however became the worst one and the smell was overwhelming. June 16, 2020 The Crawl Pros crew arrived on time. All three were polite, friendly, respectful, good communicators, and responsive to my questions and concerns. Together we reviewed work scope from the Bid Sheet and Contract making sure we shared common understanding for work to be accomplished. Their intent from the start was to be sure I would be happy with their finished product. The 90-year-old Poulsbo, WA house was getting replacement crawl space insulation and moisture barrier. Together with the garage attic, measures were also completed to ensure rodent exclusion. Demonstrating their dedication to deliver a quality product, the work wrapped up later than expected, attributed by one of the crew as the need for an unusual number of screws to secure the rodent exclusion screen around the foundation interior. Rodent exclusion screens were also attached over a bird-blocker 2x4 strip under garage eves. They showed some me some test areas for my input before proceeding and tightened up screen fit tolerances at my request. That screen eliminated a perch from which bird feces soiled paint down the siding and the result looks great. They fabricated a new crawl space access door with wingnuts to cinch it down tight like a ship's watertight hatch. Real peace of mind together with the extensive interior barrier screens. There were two areas when the crew sought input for deviations from the plan as discussed with the sale representative weeks before. Their solutions may have been superior but I wanted to be sure all was covered with warranty. With no hesitation Crawl Pros sent a supervisor out to double check the work. The whole process took about 8h and 4 persons, without a single piece of dust anywhere in the house: team created an airtight corridor from our crawlspace to the house entrance, sealed all the entry points in the crawlspace, replaced all plastic air ducts and sealed all openings underneath house floor, insulated everything with new material and sanitized every surface. I decided to take a look in my crawl space to see if I could figure out where mice were getting into our house. ...I felt like I was looking into the the attic in the movie, Ratatouille!!! Crawl Space Cleaning Pros is a reliable, honest and professional company. After I discovered problems in my crawlspace, I called them to make an appointment for a free inspection. Joseph Geyer, the estimator came out and made a bunch of photos of the entire crawlspace. He gave me a detailed report and offered a couple of solutions to address the problems. He also pointed out, that he'll work with my Public Utility Company to cover part of the cost. I found Joseph to be an honest and trustworthy man and he did not use any kind of high-pressure sales techniques to close a deal. After thinking about my options, I contacted Joseph a couple of weeks later to schedule the project. A team of 3 technicians showed up on time and completed the work exactly as the contract stated. They completely cleaned out and hauled away existing insulation, vapor barrier and construction debris. Cleaned all ledges of rodent feces and sanitized the crawlspace with Expel. Expel is a non-toxic anti-microbial enzyme that eliminates the bacteria that cause health problems and pheromones that attract rodents to the crawlspace. They installed a white vapor barrier, filled in all low spots with lava rock, installed new R-25 insulation and sealed up all sub-floor penetrations. They also sealed up the entire crawlspace and built new vents and access insert to prevent critters from gaining access to the crawlspace. The team worked hard and paid attention to detail. We are so happy we went with crawl space. They are so friendly, helpful and very professional. Best part is they aren't pushy! We had a smell coming into our house after we had a crack in one of our sewer pipes. We fixed it but the house still smelled. The plumber had told us some of our insulation was falling down and we had construction debris also. We had several companies come in to give us a bid. Most were under the house for less than 10 minutes, said you have animals that had been living in there. You need this done, that done, it was endless. Crawl space came out, took pictures and showed us what we needed done. They were under the house for almost 45 minutes. Said we had very little animals under our house but we did have contaminated soil. Explained how they would get rid of the smell by lime and another product. Replaced our insulation to code, laid down heavy black paper, wrapped our pipes and fixed all the screens. Best part is they came back and took pictures to show us what they had done. Neat and tidy is our crawl space now. We should have done this years ago but we are so happy to have found crawl space. If you are thinking of having your crawl space done, I want to tell you that the crew was fast, friendly and everything they took out was carried away by them. We are so impressed and pleased. It was the odor that tipped me off to the problem in our crawl space. Rodents had found their way in and were tearing the insulation from between the floor joists. Ugh. I contacted three different companies through their websites asking for quotes and Crawl Pros was by far the most professional service of them all. In August 2021, we found a hot-water feed line leak in our crawlspace. We had damage mitigation teams out here daily to deal with the damage; it was extensive on the first floor as the leak sprayed upwards. When the mitigation teams left and the crawlspace dried, we engaged William with Crawl Pros. Amazingly, he found a second leak diagonally across from the big one we'd just dealt with. So, before getting the insulation work done, we had another plumber out to work on that leak. I don't even want to think about how bad things might have gotten if William hadn't found it. We had been needing/wanting to have work done on our crawl space for a while, and finally decided to pull the trigger. CSCP was very easy to communicate with via Yelp and phone. They were basically on time to the appointment for the estimate (just 10mins late, but called me to let me know they were going to be 10mins late, which is totally fine). The estimate was quick and professional. They even had a printer in the back of the car so they could show me pictures of how my crawl space was looking at the time. We talked through the various rebate options from my utility company, which I had done some research on before, and settled on the scope of work. CSCP completely cleaned out our crawl space, sealed holes in our subfloor and installed a vapor barrier (our old one was non-existant). Our nearly 30 yr. old house needed some work in the crawl space. We got an estimate from Crawl Pros in two days from our call to them. The estimate was reasonable, the work laid out in detail and a date to do it with a start time and approx. end time. The team arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. and began their work . Our access is outside so there was no going through the house. The team replaced some old screens on the vents that had holes in them, wrapped and tied the ducts that needed it, put insulation where there was a place missing from a remodel of the kitchen, and sealed all the places that rodents could get in. They replaced the old vapor barrier with a nice new white one. Our crawl space is about 4 ft. high and 100 ft. long, and lighted. The team closed the access with a new "door" panel and put handles on the metal covering so it can be picked up easily. The team finished about 6:00 p.m. There were dozens of bags of debris from the crawl space lined up to go into the large truck they brought. My husband took water and sodas to the crew during the day. They were very thankful. ( Our outside water is turned off for the winter except for a hydrant at the well head out beyond our shop area). We recently hired Crawl Space Cleaning Pros to perform a comprehensive clean and re-insulation of the crawlspace and attic (including sump pump installation in the crawlspace), and we cannot say enough great things about this company. We needed to find a contractor to address significant water and mold damage in the crawlspace, as well as insulation issues in the attic. We hired this company, despite receiving a cheaper bid from Clean Crawls (the estimator was rude and condescending), based on strong online reviews and an awesome customer service experience with Marcel during the bid process. While at our home during the bid process, he performed a thorough examination of the home, answered all of our questions, and presented himself as a professional and knowledgeable estimator. He also provided us with a detailed bid for the work at a reasonable cost. He continued to provide us with excellent service for the duration of the project, including answering additional questions, helping us get discounts through Puget Sound Energy, and recommending great subcontractors. After getting a quote from a different company, I called Crawl Pros for a comparison quote. Although a lot more pricey, the quote covered a great deal more work (in detail), and also found there was mold in the attic area, and rodents had been in both the crawl and the attic. I decided to go with Crawl Pros, as they were much more detailed and upfront with the work that needed to be done. I had the crawl space done (there had never been any barrier in the crawl, and the ducts had never been wrapped). I had the attic treated for the mold, and all the insulation removed and replaced. There were two separate crews, and the office worked with me on the times and days, and how much time was needed between the mold treatment and the final clean out. The office staff was always able to answer my questions, and each of the crews were polite and professional and for the most part on time. (Seattle/Tacoma traffic, you know!!). The crews did a great job, took care to not make a mess coming in/out of the house, and clean up was great too. They were also able to use PSE credits as well for both the crawl and the attic, and took care of all that paperwork. And they took many before/after photos so I could see the work that was done.
