If you're a fan of crawfish and seafood boil with an Asian inspired flavor, this is a great spot. Crawfish, crabs and shrimp are fresh, juicy and delightfully packed with seasoning that seeps into every bite. It is also nice to have rice option on the menu! The Sauce, the signature boil, has just the right amount of heat. The sausages are sautéed well before entering the boil which adds a layer of texture to the meal. Potatoes are firm and buttery, not mushy! There is only one spice level for The Sauce, which is Medium between 1 to 5 it sits well on 3. Sweet. Savory. Spicy! Several seafood combo options and add ons as well as other non-seafood entrees. Good selection of beer and wine. Restaurant is clean and welcoming, staff are friendly and attentive! Dessert offerings also available. We arrived early @6 on a Saturday night and seated immediately.

We ordered to-go from Crawfish King in Live Oak, and honestly? For takeout, they nailed it. Everything held up way better than expected--no soggy mess, no cold seafood sadness. We got the crawfish boil, snow crab, and head-on shrimp. All super fresh, well-cooked, and seasoned right. The crawfish especially were plump and easy to peel, which is always a gamble with takeout, but they came through. We chose two sauces: * The garlic butter was light and subtle--not heavy or greasy, which let the seafood shine. * The house sauce brought the heat. More spice, deeper flavor, and honestly the better pick if you want that classic boil kick. We wrapped it up with mango sticky rice, which... yeah, we didn't love. The mango was fine, but the rice was undercooked--kind of tough, which threw the texture way off. A bit of a letdown after such a solid main meal. That said, for a casual seafood boil to-go, they really delivered. Flavorful, fresh, and still hot by the time we dug in. Will definitely order again--just might skip dessert next time.

I don't know if the owner changed, the chef changed, the distributor changed or all three but, the crawfish we bought today, 5/11/25, was bad. Half the bag tasted like it was frozen, and was boiled in water, the other half was over cooked or dead before it hit the boil. The picture showed how small the majority of the crawfish was and the other tail shows how over cooked it was. On top of all that I was overcharged for my order, but, fortunately they said they will refund me the difference so we will see.

This is by far my favorite crawfish spot in North San Antonio. I will drive all the way from Seguin to get crawfish from this spot. The seasoning is Vietnamese style, which just means that it has a lot of flavor, but not like the Cajun flavor. Honestly, their style of crawfish is now a preference since you get flavor as well as a little heat if you desire. Absolutely delicious crawfish. The staff is friendly and they have a good vibe. You can tell that people like to come here for a good time.

Wow I did not know that I needed a Lao Cajun fusion dinner in my life. The food was incredible. This is giving major hidden gem vibes. It's just outside of San Antonio, with great pricing and an excellent menu. The service was friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this cool and yummy spot in town.

The sausage had a little kick to it and the potatoes where sweet and had a little spice at the end. Even the corn was on point If you going through Live Oak Texas definitely check em out ! Service was great, they even stayed open for a minute longer so we could pick up our order.

The house sauce was pretty good. I got it on the side bc I thought it would be spicy but since it wasn't I went ahead and put it all over. The crab legs were delicious and the shrimp. The corn was fine and potatoes were under cooked or sitting in water too long and I didn't finish the potatoes because of the water inside. The sausage was over cooked and sweet. Maybe it's the brand they use. It took a while to get my order. I had ordered oysters when I sat down as an appetizer but they weren't put in by the waitress so they came after the boil and I couldn't finish them. They were super watery like the potato. Although, I expected some water with the raw oysters. Great portions though and the ambiance was ok. About normal for a seafood place. A lot of options on the new menu. The waiters were nice. Update: I now understand why the sausage tasted the way they did. I didn't realize this was a Thai/lao seafood place.

Seafood Laotian-style! From good-sized oysters in shells, crab legs, tom yum, crawfish, lobster tails, to shrimp. Spicy to not-so-spicy flavors. The service was good. The place was clean, and quiet, and looked like a new place in Live Oak almost in the Universal City area.

If the picture is any indication of how we feel, I'd say... we were quite disappointed.... that there's no more in thos bowls. We ordered Combo #6 with Crawfish and Shrimp (head-on) and a 1lb of shrimp. We got "The Sauce" and the Cajun sauce mixed in one. So glad we did!! It was so yummy! Oh yah, we also got the fried rice with chicken.. damn that was some good fried rice. Definitely coming back and bringing family here when they visit.

First time visitors on Aug 4th and the wifey and I simply enjoyed the meal and customer-friendly service. The meals were so good (wifey - tofu fried rice; me - stir fry crawfish) we took a doggy bags: so good to reheat for the next day, for which we did. EXTRA SPECIAL - YUMMM! My three boys were dying to try crawfish for the first time this season, so I opted to try this place because it was close to us and reasonably priced. We ordered crab legs and crawfish and everything was delicious. Their spicy garlic sauce was mouthwatering. I was stunned that they loved it as much as they did, all things considered. read more

Okaaaayyyy! I never post reviews but I had to for this gem. So so so glad I found this place! I currently go to TXST and there are seriously no good places for crawfish in San Marcos. I'm also from Houston and am half Vietnamese so the crawfish here reminds me soo much of the crawfish I get from the China town back home! The "sauce" is to die for. I even took the left overs home to put it over rice and chicken for lunch the next day. Haha Also!! There are ZERO pho places in San Marcos, so I am so happy to see they serve it here, fresh! We love to see small local businesses with an amazing recipe :) their customer service is also fantastic! This place definitely hits the spot if you're looking for viet-based somewhat comfort food, especially bc the Asian food selection around here is so trash lol read more

It was good, they were a bit understaffed but I got my food to go. I purchased one of the combos, and add 1/2 pound of shrimp. The house sauce does have a real "kick". Next time I will get Lemon pepper. It close by, not over crowded, and tasty. I will revisit. read more

I'm giving a low review because I said my order twice and it still came wrong. On top of that my sausage was missing and my extra corn as well. The sauce was okay it was more on the sweet side with a small kick. I had high hopes with some of the reviews but me knowing real cajun food and flavor this wasn't for me. Also the crawfish was over cooked and you can't get the meat out really. My husband said it basically felt like he had to fight for his food and it was not worth it read more

Soooooo yummy! A little hard to find, its a house with a food truck in the front. I ordered the chicken wings with "the sauce" on the side, clams and snow crabs both with "the sauce" as well. We are regulars at some of the other seafood boil places around and this place did not disappoint. The shrimp were large, as were the potatoes. The crawfish were fresh. We chose "the sauce" for our sauce. Wonderful and price was good. It's a small place with limited seating but we didn't have a wait. Waitstaff was excellent. It's by Retama Park. read more

Ordered 2lbs of king crab and an order of clams. We got 2 legs each... probably 1/4lb of food each. Was literally an appetizer. My wife and I are small eaters. Still very hungry afterwards and went to a real restaurant after we were done with are meager food at this pace. Most of the clams were just shells. Flavor was basically just SALT. Will never return. First time here and was very happy with the service. It is a bit pricey but that's to be expected for the amount of seafoood you get. We got 2lbs of crawfish covered in "the sauce" 1lb of shrimp in "the sauce" chicken fried rice, corn, potatoes and French fries since they were about to close and the portion of rice they had left was substituted with French fries by the nice owner Jet. The wait took a moment but it was well worth it. We got it to go and by the time we arrived home everything was still fresh and hot. The sauce is delicious! I would have preferred the potatoes and corn drenched with it as well as they came in separate containers. Jet and his wife run the establishment and were very welcoming to us and the other customers there at the time. Enjoyed my overall experience and would come back. Thanks Jet! read more

Delicious! We had crab and clams with "the sauce" and the sauce really is as good as the reviews said. We got the crispy rice too which was fantastic! I kept dipping the chicken in any remaining sauce I could find. Highly recommend taking a chance on this place. I'll definitely be going back. They use fresh seafood, so some items aren't always available. I don't mind because I'd rather have quality food and it gives me an excuse to go back for the crawfish. The restaurant is a house with the food truck parked next to it. Look for the yellow Crawfish flag. A bit hard to spot at night, but worth it. read more

Hello! This great serves up authentic Lao/Thai cuisine! I recommend the Nam Khao aka crispy rice, the beef jerky, papaya salad (spicy, umami deliciousness), Lao sausage (flavor explosion) chicken wings (simple and crispy) sticky rice (eat with your hands) and of course the seafood boil. So i just moved to san antonio from portland oregon and looking for a good place to eat. I came acrossed crawfish king and waned to give it a shot! Man, the food its soooo good! I had crawfish, loas sausage, loas jerky, Papaya and sticky rice. Yep, i eat alot so dont judge! Lol!!! They have more variety of food to but i will have to try it slowly. The service thou! I believe the serivice play a role in it to. Im the type that if food is good but have bad service you will still lose my business. But yea, food is super and service is tremendous. for me, its a win win. Come try it out ya'll you wont regret! read more

Came to celebrate the grand opening. Walked in and everyone was hustling. Pretty typical for a grand opening. Take a seat outside on the covered patio. We ordered the Krispy rice with chicken, egg rolls and Pad thai. Our food didn't take long to arrive. I didn't take a picture of the plates because I arrived starving and just forgot but presentation of plates were excellent, garnished with orchids, so pretty. Dishes were a little spicy but not too spicy. Prices are fair. We enjoyed dinner and plan to return to try the mango sticky rice, my favorite!!! read more

This was our first time here; this restaurant although small was well organized and the atmosphere was friendly. The crawfish broil and the Tiger cry was so amazing and the price was well worth it. We split the fried shrimp platter and the shrimp etouffee (with dirty rice instead of white rice). The food was delicious. We went around 4pm on a weekday, so it was practically empty, but the atmosphere and vibe inside was incredible. I loved the nautical theme. They were playing a lot of rap music which was funny since we saw elderly people eating there who probably thought that was odd. I assume the nighttime vibe is lively and much different. And the restroom was not the cleanest there, even with an empty restaurant. But other than that, I'd recommend everyone go visit and enjoy!

We selected the Mr Crabby boil - pretty standard, 1/2 lb king crab (2 legs) 1/2 snow crab legs (1 set of legs), 1 snow crab claw ( one set claw plus legs), 2 pieces of corn, 4 pieces of sausage, 4 small red potatoes. The crab was cooked fine, the claw meat was a little overcooked but the corn itself was soft / soggy and overcooked. The drinks weren't bad at all, a hurricane and a vodka soda. The server had the crab crackers in their back pocket, not what I would consider clean especially with a $100+ boil that I'm about use them on and the final bill was $180 after tax, before tip. If I would have known l that I'd be paying $100 per person to spilt a boil and one drink each, I would have gone to Smashing Crab, SAT Asian, a Pappadeaux and spent probably a good amount less. Very disappointed given the surprise price point: talk about sticker shock and an average dining experience.

!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I am extremely disappointed by my recent experience at this establishment. I visited this establishment with genuine excitement after hearing positive reviews about the food. I ordered oysters and a seafood boil (shrimp, crab, crawfish, and sausage). While the flavor itself was good, several pieces of the shrimp and crawfish were noticeably mushy, which raised concerns about freshness and quality. Additionally, the oysters were served warm, which is not standard, as oysters are typically served chilled. I ate one and immediately requested that the remainder be returned & removed from my tab. At that point, the experience took a very concerning turn. The server pushed back multiple times on my request, stating it was per management direction. Shortly after, the manager, Ashley, approached me. I calmly explained that while the flavor was good, the texture of the seafood and the temperature of the oysters were not acceptable. Rather than addressing the concern professionally, I was told that I was "costing them money," that I was "not welcome," and that this establishment was "not the right fit" for me. I was then asked to leave the restaurant in front of other customers. As a disabled veteran, I made a point to support this business after learning it is veteran-owned. That made this experience particularly disappointing. I approached the situation respectfully and in good faith, expecting a level of professionalism and mutual respect that was not reciprocated. I am also a professional in the field of law and a paying customer who simply expected acceptable food quality and basic customer service. However, I perceive that I was viewed with immense bias by the way I was treated. At no point did I request anything unreasonable--I asked that food I found unsatisfactory be taken back, however I was more than willing to pay for the shrimp, crawfish, sausage. The response I received was disproportionate and unprofessional. What concerns me most is not just the food quality, but the manner in which I was treated. The interaction was extremely dismissive, hostile & unprofessional. Based on the tone and assumptions made during the exchange, I left feeling that I was unfairly judged by the color of my skin and treated differently. That is not something I take lightly. Businesses have the right to set reasonable policies, but customers also deserve to be treated with dignity and respect to which I was not. This experience reflects a lack of customer care, poor conflict resolution, and an unwillingness to address legitimate concerns. I cannot recommend this establishment and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. read more
