If you're a fan of crawfish and seafood boil with an Asian inspired flavor, this is a great spot. Crawfish, crabs and shrimp are fresh, juicy and delightfully packed with seasoning that seeps into every bite. It is also nice to have rice option on the menu! The Sauce, the signature boil, has just the right amount of heat. The sausages are sautéed well before entering the boil which adds a layer of texture to the meal. Potatoes are firm and buttery, not mushy! There is only one spice level for The Sauce, which is Medium between 1 to 5 it sits well on 3. Sweet. Savory. Spicy! Several seafood combo options and add ons as well as other non-seafood entrees. Good selection of beer and wine. Restaurant is clean and welcoming, staff are friendly and attentive! Dessert offerings also available. We arrived early @6 on a Saturday night and seated immediately.

We ordered to-go from Crawfish King in Live Oak, and honestly? For takeout, they nailed it. Everything held up way better than expected--no soggy mess, no cold seafood sadness. We got the crawfish boil, snow crab, and head-on shrimp. All super fresh, well-cooked, and seasoned right. The crawfish especially were plump and easy to peel, which is always a gamble with takeout, but they came through. We chose two sauces: * The garlic butter was light and subtle--not heavy or greasy, which let the seafood shine. * The house sauce brought the heat. More spice, deeper flavor, and honestly the better pick if you want that classic boil kick. We wrapped it up with mango sticky rice, which... yeah, we didn't love. The mango was fine, but the rice was undercooked--kind of tough, which threw the texture way off. A bit of a letdown after such a solid main meal. That said, for a casual seafood boil to-go, they really delivered. Flavorful, fresh, and still hot by the time we dug in. Will definitely order again--just might skip dessert next time.

I don't know if the owner changed, the chef changed, the distributor changed or all three but, the crawfish we bought today, 5/11/25, was bad. Half the bag tasted like it was frozen, and was boiled in water, the other half was over cooked or dead before it hit the boil. The picture showed how small the majority of the crawfish was and the other tail shows how over cooked it was. On top of all that I was overcharged for my order, but, fortunately they said they will refund me the difference so we will see.

This is by far my favorite crawfish spot in North San Antonio. I will drive all the way from Seguin to get crawfish from this spot. The seasoning is Vietnamese style, which just means that it has a lot of flavor, but not like the Cajun flavor. Honestly, their style of crawfish is now a preference since you get flavor as well as a little heat if you desire. Absolutely delicious crawfish. The staff is friendly and they have a good vibe. You can tell that people like to come here for a good time.

Wow I did not know that I needed a Lao Cajun fusion dinner in my life. The food was incredible. This is giving major hidden gem vibes. It's just outside of San Antonio, with great pricing and an excellent menu. The service was friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this cool and yummy spot in town.

The sausage had a little kick to it and the potatoes where sweet and had a little spice at the end. Even the corn was on point If you going through Live Oak Texas definitely check em out ! Service was great, they even stayed open for a minute longer so we could pick up our order.

The house sauce was pretty good. I got it on the side bc I thought it would be spicy but since it wasn't I went ahead and put it all over. The crab legs were delicious and the shrimp. The corn was fine and potatoes were under cooked or sitting in water too long and I didn't finish the potatoes because of the water inside. The sausage was over cooked and sweet. Maybe it's the brand they use. It took a while to get my order. I had ordered oysters when I sat down as an appetizer but they weren't put in by the waitress so they came after the boil and I couldn't finish them. They were super watery like the potato. Although, I expected some water with the raw oysters. Great portions though and the ambiance was ok. About normal for a seafood place. A lot of options on the new menu. The waiters were nice. Update: I now understand why the sausage tasted the way they did. I didn't realize this was a Thai/lao seafood place.

Seafood Laotian-style! From good-sized oysters in shells, crab legs, tom yum, crawfish, lobster tails, to shrimp. Spicy to not-so-spicy flavors. The service was good. The place was clean, and quiet, and looked like a new place in Live Oak almost in the Universal City area.

If the picture is any indication of how we feel, I'd say... we were quite disappointed.... that there's no more in thos bowls. We ordered Combo #6 with Crawfish and Shrimp (head-on) and a 1lb of shrimp. We got "The Sauce" and the Cajun sauce mixed in one. So glad we did!! It was so yummy! Oh yah, we also got the fried rice with chicken.. damn that was some good fried rice. Definitely coming back and bringing family here when they visit.

My excitement for this restaurant quickly turned into a disappointment! I ordered a pound of crab legs for $31.00 and to my amazement, I was given only two clusters of snow crab legs and was told by the manager that I was given a pound! Not only was customer service awful, so was the food; crab legs, sausage, & shrimp. Food was not worth the PRICE and my precious time was wasted, so be aware....... read more

Great family owned place! I love spicy food! Everything was good! Everything was made fresh! Patient to good food. We always ordered crawfish, snow crabs, chicken wings, beef jerky and the papaya salad! Their basil beef is tender and flavorful. Love their Thai Tea, it's has whipped cream in it. That's a plus. My husband and I had dinner here lastnight and I ordered the fried rice and added shrimp........the rice was excellent! My husband had the stir fry and it was delicious too.....everything was cooked to order and hot! Afterwards we finished with desert.....the oreo cheesecake with whip cream and strawberries! Lastly, the customer service from the cook and server were also excellent! They asked how the food was and our server ensured we were ok consistently. This is a diamond in the rough and we'll be back. read more

The owners are the best and the food is superb. The garlic sauce for the boil is to die for!!!! The crab was fresh and the sticky rice was a nice addition. I will be going back for the crawfish soon. My family and I were craving seafood and we decided on this place because of the good reviews. Definitely recommend! I had the Combo 1 which was a lobster, crab, shrimp, crawdad, potato, and corn boil. It was amazing. Very clean restaurant and service was great. A little on the pricier side but for the most part it was worth it. The food was very well cooked and nothing was bad or rotten. read more

Since it was date night my hubby and I decided to try something and different. We came across this hidden gem. We decided to dine in and relax, watch the game and eat some king and snow crab legs; which were huge and delicious! You have to try the sauce! The service was great and the owners were very friendly. We went for seafood. However, they have Thai food on their menu as well. As much as we enjoyed the crab legs I am looking forward to going back and trying other food items on their menu. Give them a try. You will not regret it. Great food for a great price! read more

First and last time going to this restaurant, first waiter couldn't even explain the menu then took order wrong waited almost 45 mins for the order to be corrected. Waiter never came out and checked on us waited forever to get drinks refilled. Had to go inside to ask for utensils. JUST ALL AROUND BAD EXPERIENCE for it to be my first time going. The food was amazing! I got beef, basil, hot peppers that was plentiful and tasty. Got crispy fried beef rice and this I believe is now my favorite thing to eat! It is served with lettuce scoops! Pretty tasty. However I think it's overpriced. 1 crab cluster $21 bucks while you can get 2 for cheaper at smashing crab. The seasoning was excellent. Just didn't like price. They also forgot to give me sauce with wings. Sauce was in the wings picture so not sure why it wasn't included. I'll stick with smashing crab. More food and same quality. read more

Thank you, Jet, for your outstanding customer service! After a slight misunderstanding, I am happy to give Crawfish King the 5-star rating it deserves! My daughters and I love eating snow crab legs and this restaurant by far has the best out there! The crabs are always cooked perfectly and the shells "snap" instead of bending so it makes it easier to take the meat out in large chunks... I had just become a fan of snow crab legs in the last few months and only discovered Crawfish King about a week before they closed the truck to move to the current location. In their final week at the truck, I ordered from them at least 3 times! I tried a fourth order but found out they were moving locations. I was so disappointed! Fast forward and they are now open again!! I would imagine "The Sauce" can make all of their seafood taste fantastic! I have yet to find another location that makes it just right! I am so happy to have found this place! read more

This was my first time trying crawfish and it was the best experience I could have ever asked for. Felt so at home with all of the employees there and they all joined in to help me learn the right way to eat crawfish. So nice. My fiancé got the seafood sampler with fried fish, shrimp, AND oysters. It was delicious!! And the fries were impeccable. Not only that, but they close at 10 and we got there at 9:30 and they seriously gave us the most amazing service regardless. Also it is a food truck, but they have a place you can sit inside and eat. Can't say enough good things! Will make this our #1 seafood spot from now on. Great prices too. read more

Best seafood spot! They always have live Crawfish. Most places they have that frozen stuff because it's out of season. But this place always has fresh crawfish. Also the Lao food is authentic and very tasty. This place gets packed. Make sure you come early. Fluffy donuts were amazing also. Ohh and make sure you order "the sauce" for crawfish. The building is a little lacking as far as a restaurant, but don't let that stop you from trying this place. I had lobster with shrimp in " the sauce" with corn and potatoes. It was awesome! My daughter who refuses to eat anything spicy couldn't stop eating muscles from my wife's plate. She kept rubbing her lips saying they were spicy but she kept eating them. Wow can't wait till they have a chang of restaurants so I can get what they serve all the time. Been in San Antonio for 11 months and the first seafood I have enjoyed yet. If you go tell them don't forget the abuse I ended up pouring it over everything not that it needed it but WOW it was the best. I've been eating on the outside patio and the customers keep coming. For food I ordered the following: Nam Kao-This tasted like a fried rice dish but Lao style with the addition of their traditional sausage as we opted for the original version. I couldn't taste too much of the red curry but I did like how they added crispy rice which gave it a nice texture. Heavenly Beef Jerky- We've had this before at other restaurants, but this meat was very chewy and tough, and in terms of flavor for some reason it left a soapy aftertaste... Fried Pork Riblet Combo-Was excited to try this as another yelper suggested it, but again, this riblet was very dry and rubbery, but I did like the rice. Kua Kee Laow Mr. drunky-Such a fun name reminding me of Thai drunken noodles. This dish was a good filler. Sakoo Yat Sai Moo-This was my favorite thing here! These were very easy to eat, reminding me of Tang Yuan, and instead of black sesame paste you have pork dressed in a sweet/savory/fishy dressing. Overall, I'd rate it as a 2.5 stars as I wasn't especially impressed with my first visit, but hoping I came on an off day as I really do love seeing more Asian representation. I think they are still fairly new so hopefully this is a learning curve and I unfortunately was part of the growth experience. If anything, I would come back for the Sakoo Yat Sai Moo (tapioca pork balls) but honestly it looks like they rotate a lot of their menu item and it might not be available then.

My only feedback is that the tablet at the counter forced me to choose spice level 1-10, and even 1 had a nontrivial spiciness to it--would love an easy way to say "not spicy at all" Will definitely come back soon and hope they succeed!!

!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I am extremely disappointed by my recent experience at this establishment. I visited this establishment with genuine excitement after hearing positive reviews about the food. I ordered oysters and a seafood boil (shrimp, crab, crawfish, and sausage). While the flavor itself was good, several pieces of the shrimp and crawfish were noticeably mushy, which raised concerns about freshness and quality. Additionally, the oysters were served warm, which is not standard, as oysters are typically served chilled. I ate one and immediately requested that the remainder be returned & removed from my tab. At that point, the experience took a very concerning turn. The server pushed back multiple times on my request, stating it was per management direction. Shortly after, the manager, Ashley, approached me. I calmly explained that while the flavor was good, the texture of the seafood and the temperature of the oysters were not acceptable. Rather than addressing the concern professionally, I was told that I was "costing them money," that I was "not welcome," and that this establishment was "not the right fit" for me. I was then asked to leave the restaurant in front of other customers. As a disabled veteran, I made a point to support this business after learning it is veteran-owned. That made this experience particularly disappointing. I approached the situation respectfully and in good faith, expecting a level of professionalism and mutual respect that was not reciprocated. I am also a professional in the field of law and a paying customer who simply expected acceptable food quality and basic customer service. However, I perceive that I was viewed with immense bias by the way I was treated. At no point did I request anything unreasonable--I asked that food I found unsatisfactory be taken back, however I was more than willing to pay for the shrimp, crawfish, sausage. The response I received was disproportionate and unprofessional. What concerns me most is not just the food quality, but the manner in which I was treated. The interaction was extremely dismissive, hostile & unprofessional. Based on the tone and assumptions made during the exchange, I left feeling that I was unfairly judged by the color of my skin and treated differently. That is not something I take lightly. Businesses have the right to set reasonable policies, but customers also deserve to be treated with dignity and respect to which I was not. This experience reflects a lack of customer care, poor conflict resolution, and an unwillingness to address legitimate concerns. I cannot recommend this establishment and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. read more
